About this cottage rental
The privacy of this air-conditioned cottage on the tidal shores of Cundy's Harbor in Harpswell is something you will treasure. Sit on the deck in the morning, just feet away from the shoreline, drinking coffee and watching the eagles fly overhead, deer in the woods, or boats come through the channel at high tide. Whether the water is high in Laurel Cove channel or completely drained out, there is always a beautiful view of nature. Swimming from the dock on the high tide or exploring the ocean floor at low tide, it is everchanging, bringing something new each day.
Enjoy any meal of the day on the deck overlooking the water. Breakfast, lunch or dinner made in the full kitchen, getting take out from any of our local Harpswell or Brunswick restaurants, or grabbing some local lobsters and cooking them up! There will always be a table with a view.
If you enjoy exploring, fill your days hiking some of the many Harpswell Heritage Trust hiking trails. Kayaking or canoeing right from your own private dock on the property, when the tide allows. Take a drive and see all that Harpswell has to offer from gift shops, restaurants, sailing excursions, free summer concerts, to candy and ice cream shops. Fun Fact: the town of Harpswell has 216 miles of coastline! That is a lot to explore.
Feel like a break from the coast? Freeport's famous LL Bean and a variety of outlet stores are less than 30 minutes away. Brunswick, only 15 minutes away, is home to Maine State Music Theatre, Bowdoin College with its museums, as well as a thriving downtown area with shops and restaurants. We also have 4 local golf courses.
At Laurel Shore you are allowed to bring one dog who is under 50lbs. Dogs require an additional pet/per day charge of $60 per day. Sorry, but we only allow dogs, no other pets. This includes a service dog.
We recommend a car for your stay here in Harpswell, Laurel Shore is located 15 minutes from major grocery stores and the town of Brunswick. We hope you will be able to enjoy exploring all the Maine coast has to offer.
Please note, there is an automatic generator provided at the home as well as linens and towels.
If you will be flying to Maine, we recommend Portland International Jetport (PWM). If assistance is needed for varying flight arrivals of your party, Safe Harbour Property Management offers concierge rides to and from PWM, please inquire for rates.

Peaceful, beautiful property. Perfect for our honeymoon. Highly recommend this place and Gurnet Trading Post for seafood!

Communication for the rental check-in and directions was great, making the process very easy. The location on an inlet of the Atlantic was nice, too. We were able to use this as a home base to go to various places in Maine and it was nice to be on the water, which was usually very calm. We didn't see much activity on the water as far as boats and swimming but it could have been from the season in late August. The sleeper sofa was not very comfortable, the head portion either adjusted to the top was sloped down or propped up at an angle. For a short adult they had to sleep diagonal to get a level sleeping surface. For the most part the place was clean, with the exception of a dirty utensil inside the sofa bed and dirt on the floor on the mattress from being stored. Also, the coffee machine was overgrown with mold so we didn't use it.

Perfect rental for me and my dog. Lots of windows and light, with gorgeous views right on the water. The deck is fantastic. Great location - very quiet (except the gulls and an occasional owl), but also convenient to restaurants and such. Kitchen had everything I needed and furniture was all lovely and comfy.

The home was exactly as described. Deck was large with nice furniture and feet from the water. Photos show that bathroom is upstairs and kitchen is so no surprises. Highly recommend Holbrooks at the end of Cundy Harbor Rd!! Great place to relax

Best thing to say about this property was that it was clean. Otherwise, it was not acceptable.
The bedroom was down a long steep flight of stairs from the small bathroom on the main floor. The mattress was extremely soft and unusable. We attempted to sleep upstairs on the pullout couch, but the frame did not allow its mattress to lie flat. We ended up purchasing an air mattress and placing it in the living room and slept there.
The access to the grill was off of the main bedroom. It was done the same flight of stairs from the kitchen and living room. It would have been nice if there was a fire box for a campfire to roast hot dogs and marshmallows, but there was none. The kitchen itself was extremely small.
The cable TV only had the bare minimum of channels... a search could not even find HGTV !
We ended our stay 3 days prematurely and went to a hotel.

Cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. It is the perfect size for a couple and is pet friendly. Note that the bathroom is on the main floor and the bedroom is downstairs. Wasn't an issue for us, but might be for others. The deck was wonderful to sit out on in the mornings and evenings. Lots of wildlife to watch. We also sat on the dock a few times and dipped our toes in the water. Do make sure you have bug repellent if you'll be outside for any length of time. The mosquitos were brutal, but you are in the woods so it was to be expected. Bed is very comfy. Having the washer/dryer was also very convenient. Only a short drive to restaurants and shopping. Highly recommend Cook's restaurant. Atmosphere and food were phenomenal. Would definitely visit again.

We had a wonderful long weekend stay with our dog, Pepper. We had everything we needed and found the listing information to be accurate.

We spent our 19th wedding anniversary here. It was the perfect romantic getaway. The views are stunning and the location is tranquil. Just a short drive to the general store for necessities, and Uber Eats delivers. We didn’t want to leave. Would 100% stay here again.

Just got back to NYC after spending 3 nights at the house with my dog. I already miss it. It's practically on top of the water, and sits in a very private, quiet and secluded location on a heavily wooded lot. It's a bit off the beaten path, but still a relatively short drive (10-30 mins, depending) to anywhere within the Harpswell/Brunswick area. Comfortable bed and furniture. The outdoor furniture seemed brand new (Adirondack chairs). It's a very cozy house that's perfect - even spacious - for solo travelers and couples. May feel tight for more people than that. Just a note that the driveway entrance is actually past the house (it plays games with your GPS). I definitely plan to return!

We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing at this property and watching the tides and birds from the deck. Even on a rainy day, you can see outside from every room. The bed and furnishings were comfortable and kitchen well stocked. This quiet location is within easy access to Portland and Freeport, as well. Highly recommend!

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The cottage is incredibly cozy and is nestled right on the rocky banks of Casco bay. We saw a seal swim by from the comfort of the living room. The porch and chairs are wonderful. My suggestions are getting new towels/pans (they were pretty worn) and providing basic showering soaps would be great as well. Everything else was perfect!

My husband and I rented this house in Oct 2023 for our anniversary. We are both nature lovers, and we loved all the wildlife we saw, as well as the beautiful quietness of the property. The house had a small but well-stocked kitchen (including an electric kettle!). The property manager, David was awesome too - very kind and helpful. We can’t say enough good things about the house and our experience there. If we make another trip to the area, we will definitely stay there again.

We spent a very relaxing 3 nights here. The house is quite comfortable, the view outstanding, and in a quiet neighborhood. It was a good location for our needs with plenty of places within a 20 minute or so drive to walk with a dog and get lobsters. Would definitely recommend!

Quiet little spot. Great for a quick get away. Sit out on the deck and watch the sunrise and take it all in. Instructions need updating as it says checkout is at 10am in the house but 9:30 online. Parking instructions could be more specific. It’s not in front of the garage kids, continue up the street and around to the right of the house.

Had a great stay here. Great location, house was lovely, exactly as listed. Peaceful and relaxing! David the property manager was awesome, called me to confirm everything and gave me some great tips on local shopping. My only critique is that the canoe and kayak in the listing photo's are not available to use. I would have loved to go out canoeing with my daughter. There was rentals available but very expensive in my opinion, $60 per day plus a $60 delivery charge.
Other then that, the house was great and would definitely go back!

This house was perfect for two of us and our dog! We stayed for two weeks. The location is absolutely amazing, and the view was STUNNING. Tons of good food places near by. There were dog bowls and a dog bed ready for us when we got there. Management was very easy to get in touch with as well. Such a great place and neighborhood, we’ll definitely be back!!

My family and I visit Harpswell/Bailey island two times a year. Laurel Cove with ocean view was available, the one bedroom cottage would be home away from home with minor tweaks, the decor furniture was styled in crate barrel ,looks magazine cute but comfort is quite lacking, couch is hard, uncomfortable and two side chairs was uncomfortable, perhaps a recliner and better quality couch would be a plus, again home away from home comforts.bathroom is small but efficient on main floor, bedroom is downstairs walking 12 stairs, mattress needs upgrading for comfort, from the bedroom is a deck furnished in Adirondack and a small grill that needs upgrading. The deck faces the 250 feet frontage and private dock for kayaking enthusiasts etc kitchen is small and efficient. Communication with Mr.David the property manager is a total gem,he truly cares about the clients and also maintaining long business friendships,Harpswell is a small quaint fishing community and everyone knows one another which makes the area special, familys have choices for leasing home away home but with a little tweak here and there, familys will continue to visit more often.etc thankyou Mr.David for all your help. If you are considering this rental i hope my review will enlighten your choices.

The kitchen and bath are very small. The kitchen is difficult to work in due to the size. Furnishings were excellent.

Just what we were looking for. This property was located in a perfect area with easy access to hiking trails and local seafood. We loved looking at the water views and waking up to the sunrises. The property was also very private.
5.0 / 5.0
The process was easy and getting to the property was simple. The property is secluded with amazing views of the water. Small, but great for a couples getaway. The only minor issues was the smell of dampness downstairs where the bedroom is located and the patio cushions are very thin and had no cushion to them, making it hard to sit out on the deck for very long. Other than that it was a great property and we would return.

Spectacular view and peaceful stay
The property is amazing and was perfect for our stay. It has all the amenities needed and convenient to various local attractions. The location is on a tidal river where you can watch eagles, osprey, harbor seals and boats go by while enjoying a meal on the deck. David was super helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had. We first arrived after dark and David helped us with step by step instructions until we found everything. Definitely worth the value and will miss seeing that view every morning. Would definitely love to stay again!
