About this apartment rental
Our Casa Amelia mirrors the beauty of spectacular Amelia Island, quiet, elegant, relaxing with miles and miles of world class beaches. We're only a few short minutes walk to the beach without the noise, commotion and high prices of beach front living. Casa Amelia is the perfect combination of virtual isolation while part of a lovely complex well-endowed with amenities and majestic, moss-laden life oak trees. Our beach access entrance has no parking space, virtually assuring that your own stretch of beach will be less crowded, even on holiday week-ends. Sometimes, it can literally be your private beach. .
We would love to welcome you to our hideaway. We bought Casa Amelia II in November 2011 and have been lovingly transforming it into our own little haven. Be among the first to stay there. Casa Ameila is a two story townhouse, the largest floor plan in the complex, 1500+ square feet with decks. But it is also PERFECT for folks who prefer no stairs. We are in the back, hidden from view, and from traffic, and noise, and commotion, and trash pickup and bikeriders, etc. . The boardwalk to our door from the parking is flat: only two small, separated steps and you are in the house. The large master bedroom with cathedral ceiling and completely redone, divided bath and walk in closet are on the ground floor, as are the almost 300 sq foot deck, dining area and sparkling kitchen. No need to climb the carpeted stairs, where the kids, etc. will enjoy two other cathedral ceilinged, carpeted bedrooms, a full bath and a walk in closet. Our huge deck shares, with only our one neighbor, the unique advantage of steps down to our own grassy back yard, isolated from the rest of the complex. Treed view, quiet, no traffic, perfect for kids to frolick and play, undisturbed. Ideal to relax in the sun, in private. The perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of beach life. A quiet, alluring oasis.
Our Casa Amelia has a brand new kitchen, with lots of high end cabinets and granite counter tops. Since Casa Amelia will serve as our home away, the kitchen is fully and fancily equipped. The new bamboo floors are soft under the feet, yet, like hard tile, easy to care for. The new bathroom sports a nonslip tile floor and a fabulous new vanity complex, also with a granite counter. Fresh paint, new recessed lighting and upscale furniture complete the picture. We are confident you will love our home.
Casa Amelia II is ready for the beach, with beach cart and all that's needed to fill it up. A rolling cooler adds to the convenience. We have beach chairs, beach umbrellas, lots of beach towels, toys, even older tennis rackets to try out the courts. Be sure to bring the leash for your dog to walk along the beach and cruise the treed lined complex. Be sure you always pick up after him, as well.
Fernandina Beach is a splendid little town of early Spanish origin (second oldest after St Augustine) and massive Victorian revival. The first Florida railroad (Fernandina Beach to Cedar Key on the Florida west coast) and the natural deep water harbor made Fernandia Beach a Victorian boom town. The oldest still active Florida inn and Florida saloon still grace the resort-like town. Wonderful Victorian houses add elegance and charm. As the father of modern shrimp fishing, Fernandina Beach still sports shrimp trawelers and the best fresh shrimp in the world. Enjoy Fort Clinch, our civil war fort and nature complex, with its history re-enactors, its hidden beaches and miles and miles of bike and hiking paths. Go kayaking on our many streams and inlets. Visit the nature sanctuaries. And the bustling city of Jacsonville is only 45 minutes away; only 30 minutes to our user-friendly international airport. . For golfers, the opportunities are endless. Visit our Rizt Carlton for a night of lounge dancing or sipping by the bonfire. Our restaurants, some within wakling distance, are exceptional. Many people make Amelia Island their permanent vacation destination and ultimate retirement dream. Maybe you will too.
Our Fernandina Beach vacation rental permit number is 3520, which authorizes short term rentals of one week or more.

Enjoyed the stay, location is great.
10.0 / 10.0
House was clean with all the basic necessities. Full kitchen, coffee maker, microwave.
The beds are incredibly comfortable.
The living space has plenty of seating space and a super comfortable sofa!
Neat collection of art pieces!
Small porch/balcony which overlooks a green space- would’ve been nice to sit out there if it wasn’t 100 degrees :)
The pool is right across the street. Beach about a 5 min walk. You do have to cross A1A but drivers tend to be courteous.
About a 15 min drive to downtown historic Fernandina.
Communication with host was excellent.
Super convenient and would stay there again .:)

Location of the unit is good, but you do need to cross a fairly busy A1A to get to the beach. Once there we did see several dolphins.
We would recommend boat tours out of the harbor and casual shopping and dining in town.
The unit needs a thorough cleaning and some repairs. We had dirty sheets in the upstairs twin bedroom. Trash under the upstairs double bed. A mess of dust under the downstairs sofa and the downstairs chair needs steam cleaning. The master toilet ran on most of the time and the downstairs bathroom sink barely drained.
Refrigerator and HVAC ducts were rusted.
The screen door was totally of the track and torn for the Master bedroom, and the living room screen was torn. There were window screens leaned against the outside of the unit.
Anyone wearing white socks had a dirty pair on after 20 minutes as the floors were not cleaned thoroughly.
The area near the tennis court had broken concrete and was roped off.

We loved the location! Well furnished for our month long stay. Owner and property manager responsive to some needs we identified upon check in. Unit could use a little updating of appliances in kitchen.

Great location. Quiet area. If you’re up and outside early you can hear the surf as the beach is on the next road over. The owners are super nice and accommodating as well as extremely responsive to any questions.

Location was great. Was nice having the pool right across from the property. The walk to the beach wasn't bad, only took about 5 minutes if that.
We enjoy the stay. Just an FYI the pull out couches are broken and there weren't alot of pots and pans. UWe had to run to Walmart to get pans to cook with. (No frying pans, no cookie sheets/baking pans). But in upstairs bedroom owners did have a twin ait mattress for use so that made up for the pull-out sofas being broken.
The beds were hard, but did their job we all got plenty of sleep. The down stairs bathroom you can only use the shower, the faucet to switch from tube to shower was broken.
Loved all the decor you can tell the owners travel, which is something we love doing so it was neat seeing different art work.
The owners respond very quickly. Check-in and Check-out process was very easy. Was nice not having to carry wagon and beach chairs, owners had some for use. Loved that there was a washer and dryer. We were able to wash the owners towels that they had available for use and also wash our dirty clothes so we wouldn't had to go home after a nice getaway and have to worry about laundry. We would definitely book this place again.

Casa Antigua
Forest Ridge is a great location on Amelia Island. It is walking distance to the ocean and has a very nice pool. The unit we rented was a little older and doesn’t have some of the renovations that many of the other units have. On the plus side, the beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked and updated. The refrigerator was stained on the front giving a dirty appearance. The screens were either missing from some windows or were torn so we were forced to use air conditioning more than we would have preferred. The sliding door in the master bedroom leaked water during heavy rain. Carpeting upstairs was stained in several areas. The dryer vent was disconnected and vents into the unit. We tried to hook up the vent but there was an obstruction and were unable to fix. Water stains were on the ceiling. This place makes a better short term rental than long term. Kelli, the local manager was very helpful with a few of the issues. The owner lives out of town.

Not what we were expecting based on description and photos
While the owner was friendly, responsive, and worked well with us, the property itself needs a lot of work and we were unable to continue our stay there. The owner offered to deep clean the furniture which was appreciated, but the property needed a lot more work. The washer didn't work (front was taped on), the fridge was over 20 years old and rusted out, and two of the three bedrooms were not functional due to beds or mattresses being broken (springs coming out or wobbly beds). Holes in the walls need to be patched and it desperately needs a new paint job to hide the stains and dings on the walls and ceiling. The single storage closet was completely filled with unusable junk and we couldn't even hang one coat in there. I am not sure who is providing all the positive reviews. Again, kudos to the owner's responsiveness but they may consider more $ investment in the property.

Another great beach vacation
We love Forest Ridge for its location and I had marked this property as a favorite since we had just gotten a dog last summer. So when Fernandina Beach started allowing VRBOs again, I reached out to George to find out their COVID Cancellation policy which was very reasonable, and so we booked our stay.
Upon arrival, the home was clean and prepared for renters. There were a few concerns we brought to George’s attention so he could get them taken care of before the next renters but they didn’t affect our stay. The only thing really missing when we checked in was hand soap at any of the sinks.
As advertised there were all the linens, beach towels, a beach cart and other various beach gear (chairs, skim board, etc), along with starter paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, laundry soap and dishwasher detergent. The townhome came with more than enough dishes, glasses, real coffee mugs (not the tiny 10-oz offerings), silverware and cookware. There was plenty of home knick-knacks too obviously collected from various adventures abroad (if things could only speak to share their origin story). The WiFi was easy to set up and there was even a dvr with plenty of recordings in the Master bedroom and living room, along with the normal cable offerings. Plenty of board games and books too.
We have stayed in multiple buildings in Forest Ridge and this may have been the best location. It’s in the middle of the complex but right across from the pool; and there was a back porch that opened onto the lawn! It’s shared by the immediate neighbor of course, but it feels private.
As a side note, Forest Ridge is located a block off the beach and as such, there are many non-beach critters to see! There is a hawk that has nested near the grills (charcoal on the other side of the complex). The boardwalk leading to the home has lots of curious digging spots and it turned out there are tons of armadillos at night. Also on the second night, I was walking the dog and we almost stepped on a Scarlet snake that slithered under the boardwalk. And finally, we saw a yellow rat snake crawling ON the wall of the building which I did not know could be done. It added to the beach vacay for sure.
We really had a great stay despite COVID limitations and were able to continue to practice social distancing while enjoying the beach. This beach is NEVER crowded and this townhome was exactly what we needed. Looking forward to next year!

8 people slept comfortably. Close to beach. Pool was very nice. Lots of room. Nice deck outside.

Filthy pig pen!!
It was obvious no one looked at the property, or it would not have been rented!!
It smelled of URINE.
The only reason we didn't leave was friends and family were already booked on flights to stay with us!!
We had to leave because the Gov. of Pa. told us to go home. We should have received two weeks of credit which is a joke.
I travel extensively, all over the world-why would I use your services?

Me and my family LOVE Amelia Island and we always try to stay in Forrest Ridge. This condo did not disappoint. It was plenty of space for my family consisting of 3 young children myself and wife. Will definitely consider this unit in the future.

Clean, comfortable and quiet Condo. Close to Sliders, a fun food & drink place
After working 12-14 hours a day coming to the Condo was relaxing on a great MB bed. The quiet neighborhood made sleep a dream, get it, a dream.
The Unit is close enough to downtown to get to all dining and entertainment in less than 10 minutes.
The Owner & Prop. Mgr. were easy to work with. Thanks for all they did to accomodate me and two others.

The Condo was clean , comfortable and there were no problems!
This great condo was nestled among the live oaks in quiet complex just a short hop to the beach. I took the short walk to the beach everyday at least once for the sunrise!
I also made use of many of the over forty public beach access points across the island. It was not a problem find a secluded section of the beach anytime of day. The condo is centrally located and it is a short drive to many of the islands attractions. I fished in a new place everyday and caught fourteen different species!
I love Fort Clinch and even though the pier is no longer there ( thanks to hurricane Mathew) it has a lot to offer. There is also a great state park on the south end of the island that offers , beautiful beaches , the George Crady Bridge , and some good natural trails, the Dee Dee Bartel public boat ramp offered some good fishing from its two docks and has a clean public restroom.
The condo had comfortable beds, a well stocked kitchen, and everything I needed to rest up from long days of exploring the island.
I had a great stay and I look forward to coming back!
George seemed very responsive to my questions and always responded right away.
Thanks George , I had a great getaway!

Two week summer stay
We enjoyed the property. It was comfortable for our family of 5. Air Conditioner worked well. Walk to the beach was fine, we measured it at about .24 miles, so one time around a track from door to sand. Beach cart made the walk easy. It was nice to have beach towels in the unit.
We did a shrimp boil and sat on the back deck to eat one night. Had amazing barbeque at Gilbert's Underground Kitchen, Artes Pizza is a must too.
Overall it is a good family complex and the unit was clean and comfortable. Might need a new washing machine, those beach machines take a beating.
Thanks for the memories!

Very Comfortable Vacation Home
We had a wonderful vacation at your home. The condo is in a great location, short walk to the beach and very close to town. The condo is very nice and the owner was easily available to reach by email. A few suggestions the kitchen should have more eating utensils and coffee mugs. We found ourselves hand washing forks and knives every time we ate. Over all we loved our stay and would highly recommend it.

The property was reasonably comfortable and well equipped. Had to do some housekeeping.
No sure if hadn't been well cleaned or just vacant for awhile prior to our arrival, had to do some housekeeping. Comfortable and well furnished. Easy to find and good access to everything. Would use this property again.
Suggest a map of the property for beach access, trash containers, playground, etc. along with the other written instructions. Would be very helpful!

Loved it!
Perfect place for vacation. Traveled alone with my dog, felt completely safe here. Loved the fact that there wasn't a bunch of steps to get to condo as I have physical limitations. I've already looked into returning soon.

Awesome Vacation and Super Friendly Owner
Hubby and I booked our trip to Florida for September 9-23. Well Hurricane Irma reared her ugly head and we did not make it to Amelia Island until Wednesday, September 12th. The owner extended our trip so that we could make up the missed days. We had a contact person (Kelli Graves) in Florida and she texted daily updates on weather, bridge closings, electricity expectations, which stores and gas stations were open or closed, etc. She was invaluable at keeping up posted so we could decide when to travel from VA to FL (9.5 hour trip). The townhouse was a great value and we would definitely stay again (we have discussed coming back next September). The owner (George Chester) is great at returning calls and providing information on my questions concerning the contract. Thank you so much George and Kelli for everything.

Great family vacation on Amelia Island
Our family of 4 totally enjoyed spending time on Amelia Island. This was our first time to the Island, but we will be back. This townhome was well equipped for our family, and being able to have our fur baby with us was wonderful. We would recommend this home to anyone looking for a great place to stay. The pool is directly across from the townhome, and the ponds and fountains are so beautiful. We met several people that live year-round in the development and they were all so gracious, giving us suggestions of things to do and placed to go eat that the locals love If you visit the area, you must go to Fort Clinch -- it's amazing. The home is nicely decorated and the beds are very comfortable. We enjoyed some family game time the evening that it rained on us, but that was lots of fun too.

Great location and awesome townhouse!
This place was perfect for us - 6 of us - 2 families. We enjoyed our stay so much. Amelia Island is paradise! This property comes equipped with everything; however, the umbrella for the beach was in bad shape and I wish I would have brought our shade tent (bc I'm fair and had a toddler with us) but other than that we had everything necessary for spending a day at the beach. The location of the property is absolutely wonderful! Owners and manager are so nice and responsive! Definitely would stay here if/when we come back to Amelia Island.
