About this house rental
Yosemite West is centrally located inside the park entrance, and sits near an intersection of the roads leading to the park's most famous features: Yosemite Valley, Glacier Point and Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias.
This private updated 2-level house sits at the end of a quiet street, with a network of running and hiking trails surrounding the neighborhood. Too hot? Too cold? Not a problem. Our home features central air conditioning for those too hot for comfort nights and central heat to keep every part of the house toasty.
KITCHEN / DINING / DECK
Cook comfortably in our fully-equipped kitchen with full-size, stainless steel appliances, gas range, granite countertops and fully stocked with service for 8 and all the necessary gadgets to prepare your favorite meals. Pantry is stocked with a variety of spices and individually wrapped teas, sugar and cream. The dining area has a pub-style table for six and is open to the living room area.
Enjoy the views while you grill, dine or lounge outdoors on our expansive 300 sq ft. deck. You have your choice of grilling on a GAS BBQ grill (located on the deck) or grilling on a free-standing, cast iron, CHARCOAL grill (located on the lower level in front of the house).
PICNIC BASKET
We’ve provided a picnic basket and cooler for a spontaneous picnic in the park. Picnic basket serves 6 and includes individually wrapped salt & pepper. Reusable ice packs can be found in the freezer.
LIVING ROOM
Clean, bright and tastefully decorated, the living room is an inviting space with a large and comfortable curved sectional sofa, gas burning stove, flat-screen TV, and plenty of DVDs for your next movie night. The dish network connection is very unreliable due to the height of the surrounding trees. We are hoping a new carrier will soon come into the Yosemite West area with a more reliable TV service.
LIBRARY WEST
A diverse and extensive library of books is available for you to enjoy including books on Yosemite, hikes and nature walks. You may take books with you if haven’t finished reading them and you’re also welcome to contribute to our library with books of your own. There are plenty of “reading lights” conveniently throughout the house.
BEDROOMS
The first bedroom is furnished with a full size bed and twin bunk beds. The second is furnished with a king sized bed. The master bedroom is also furnished with a king bed. Bathroom #1 has dual sinks with granite countertop, tiled floor, full size shower/tub and plenty of natural light. The master bathroom has dual sinks, granite countertops, tiled floors, and a shower.
BATHROOM
Plenty of natural light fills the bathroom and features dual sinks, granite counter tops and tiled floor. Enjoy “hotel-like” complimentary toiletries. First aid kit under the bathroom sink.
WASHER/DRYER
Full size washer and dryer available for guests staying 3 days or more.

Place is nice and clean. Host is responsive and accommodating. It just little tricky to find the place. Overall, we really have great food experience.

Great place - extremely well-appointed. All we could ask for and more! Super comfortable for two couples, and there was another room that could hold 4. Great kitchen, deck, living room. Everything is new and works. Glad we could stay at Yosemite Inverness
10.0 / 10.0
The house is spacious, well-equipped, and just works well. The kitchen has everything you could want, including many spices and things like cooking oil and coffee filters. The beds are comfortable, bathrooms clean, and the living room and deck are both great for relaxing. All as described in the listing and in the photos - it all just works (and Judy's instructions are crystal clear). The location works well for spending a full day out in the valley, with the 35 minute drive each way - get out the door before 9am and parking is no problem in the Valley or up at Glacier Point/Taft/Sentinel lots.
At the end of a day, it's great to come back to make dinner in a real kitchen rather than waiting in a long line for the lackluster food offerings in the valley. And nice to have full internet connectivity...Starlink is incredible. All told: highly recommended.

Fantastic Vrbo rental house! We had five family members who shared three bedrooms and two bathrooms – which was perfect for our group. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, silverware, and appliances (including a coffee maker, convection oven and regular gas stove). The kitchen table seated six and a very large couch provided plenty of space for our family. Abode was clean and tidy and provided plenty of bathroom amenities. You also have a comfortable outside deck and grill. Even though the regular A/C was broken, Judy provided a large (temporary) wall unit that kept everyone comfortable in the low 70’s while outside was 100 degrees (heat wave in early August). You also MUST follow Judy’s written road instructions to find her rental – the roads are a maze and Google; Apple Maps and generic paper maps don’t help. Having a rental in Yosemite West is also ideal for site-seeing and hiking in Yosemite National Park. You are 45 minutes from Yosemite Valley (the most heavily visited area – Half Dome, Yosemite Falls, El Capitan, etc.) and 40 minutes away from Mariposa Grove to the south. You are also near the turnoff to Glacial Point (a must-visit for viewing the Valley from 3500 feet above). Plus being in Yosemite West, you get a quiet relaxing evening away from the hustle & bustle of other park visitors. Enter the park with all of your groceries for the week and you’re set. So, if a park adventure awaits you – strongly consider this Vrbo in Yosemite West!

This house is 30 minutes from the valley floor 30 minutes from glacier point you can’t get any closer being in a private home. Great to avoid gate lines every day the host even put our name in with the national Park service eliminating the need for a NP reservation. The house is as advertised, clean, comfortable spacious for a family of five we will definitely book again when visiting Yosemite.

Location was great for visiting all areas of the park. Did not have to go out of the park every day and wait in line to get back in. Home is well appointed with everything needed. Host communicated well. Easy check in with no issues.

Stayed for five nights with my nieces and nephew.

Yosemite west is sort of central to the park - half hour from lots of places - Mariposa, glacier point, and the valley floor. If you are like us and from a rural area this drive isn’t a big deal, however if you’re hoping to be in the thick of things and not wanting a long drive you may prefer to stay closer to the valley floor.
We had some problems that weren’t the owners fault - the ac was out - it was super hot and they tried to help by bringing in a portable unit since there was no availability to change to another vrbo or hotel. It did help some but was still 78 plus in the house until after bedtime. The owner even let us stay in her private downstairs quarters which was cooler which was very kind. She is also issuing a partial refund.
The record heat clearly overwhelmed the entire Yosemite west power grid - day 2 we lost all power as did all of YW! We spent all the time we could until late that night out of the house and made the most of our day. No ones fault just unfortunate circumstances but she was able to get us internet with a generator which was huge for my college kid who needed to complete some online work.
Despite the rough circumstances beyond anyone’s control I will say we would come back. The amenities at this house were beyond compare. From lotion and bubble bath to spices and coffee, we were thankful for those small touches.
I would say I’d love to see some beach type towels to use when we went to the waterfalls.

the house is inside the park so you don't have to make reservations. it's the perfect base for exploring the park. We where there last weekend and the AC was broken so make sure that is fixed! there's also a gas grill which was nice.

Our family arrived to a very cold welcome the heart hadn’t been turned on so was 54 in the house. I wasn’t looking forward to using the rest room but hallelujah the toilet seats have warmers!! It would be nice if the floors did also; we found it very cold to walk around in socks. Another nice extra was a towel warmer. The owner is great, she is very responsive, she helped us out when the lighter wouldn’t work for the grill by contacting a neighbor that we could borrow one from. It took me a bit I found him and was grateful for the assist. The grill itself is due for a good cleaning or an upgrade but we made it work. After being shut down for the winter I had to clean out the ice maker to get it going again so we had ice for our cooler and the cleaning crew forgot to unload the dishwasher. I also couldn’t handle the bathroom exhaust fan and wiped it down. The driveway is very intimidating in the dark I would recommend arriving in daylight. Overall we would stay again but all the little things in this visit accounted for a 4 star vs 5 star rating.

The beautiful Inverness home gave us the perfect spot for our Yosemite adventure. Being right in the park saved us hours, allowing us to beat the crowds and enjoy still mornings in the park. Relaxing and having a comfortable kitchen at the end of the day was wonderful!

Let’s start with the one little complaint then move on to the good stuff. One full length blind in the bedroom was broken so we hung a blanket to block out the light. Now the good stuff. It’s got everything you need. Kitchen was well stocked. Beds were comfortable. I drew short straw and slept in the full size in the bunk room. It was really comfortable. I slept well. The location is completely quiet. The seating area was comfy. It has tons of tv viewing options. Kitchen was easy to use. Area felt safe. Do not underestimate how valuable it is to stay within the park. Plan well, get your groceries and fill your tank on the way in and then you won’t have to leave the park again - translation: you won’t have to wait in the massively long line to get in the park every morning. Yosemite village actually feels like a big village and it’s kind of neat you get to “live” close by. Basically we made ourselves breakfast at home, left at 8 for the valley, had lunch in the valley, and made dinner at home. We did get quite dirty hiking. The bathrooms had several lotions, soaps, shampoos, and such to choose from as well as an abundance of towels. My husband grilled one night. Food came out good and he didn’t say he had any problems, so that’s good. Yeah, so, all in all it was quite nice.

This property has every detail thought of. From a fully equipped kitchen, to bathroom amenities, linens and even games and equipment for small children.
Judy has been thoughtful and anticipated every situation, including parking recommendations due to severe changes in weather.
8.0 / 10.0
The property was inaccurately described on the VRBO website and upon arrival we realized right away. The listing is not a house, it’s a duplex and the unit is an upstairs apartment. There was no access to the driveway by way of car, issues with the water pressure and the washer & dryer was in the garage which is separate from the unit. The cleanliness was below acceptable and we spent our first evening washing sheets, pillowcases, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming & mopping up piles of dust, candy wrappers, food scraps and trash.
We reached out to the property attendant, Judy requesting a partial refund and an early check out which she immediately agreed to. She was very professional, easy to work with and easily accessible.
Our experience was not the best. If the property description were more accurate and nightly rate reduced to reflect the accuracy we may consider another stay. But, for now, we are moving on.

So happy with our stay here! Host was very helpful and communicative prior to and during our stay. Judy provided detailed arrival directions and house information. House was impeccably clean. Well stocked throughout. Lots of spices in the kitchen, plenty of toiletries in the bath including make-up remover towelettes, a towel warmer, extra blankets, space heaters, games (we loved smarty pants), fast WiFi. We lacked for nothing. Fireplace was easy to use and cozy. Quiet location at the edge of neighborhood. Quick access to Yosemite Village and Mariposa Grove.
Pro tip: The beauty of this place is it’s remote - be sure you plan ahead. We gassed up and brought all the food we needed for our entire stay. That saved us longer trips to re-stock.
Park recommendations: Don’t miss a chance to walk up to the Nose to El Capitan. Just off the Old Big Oak access point is a short loop trail that brings you right to the base of El Capitan. No crowds! And we happened across some climbers starting their ascent.
Also don’t miss the Mariposa Grove on the south end of the park. We also hiked the Sentinel Meadow Cook’s Meadow loop which brings you by the lower Yosemite Falls, chapel and criss-crosses the valley with stunning views of Half Dome. The All Trails app has excellent hiking options. Be aware that you won’t have internet access in most of the park and download any maps ahead of time.
And if you get a clear night definitely go stargazing!!
Thank you Judy!!

This is a lovely home with thoughtful amenities. We really appreciated having toiletries as we flew in with no checked bags. Having spices and basic staples helped with cooking meals. Plenty of cookware and serving items also! Yosemite West is a fantastic location inside the park. I would recommend this property!

All my brothers and sisters were impressed with this property mainly because of its close proximity to the Yosemite national park but also there was plenty of room.
Well stocked kitchen - lots of spices were appreciated. Washer and dryer big plus to
Owner was so quick to respond to a dish network outage - fixed within minutes!!
Comfy beds and pillows after long days of hiking.
Outside areas could use a little attention but overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay again

We really enjoyed our time at Iverness. The check in and check out processes were seamless and the house is located in a very peaceful, but central location to access the various areas of Yosemite. Staying here also avoids the hour + drive each way into Yosemite Valley if staying outside of the park. The house itself is very clean and in great condition, and the beds very comfortable. There were many games, puzzles, books, movies, and even a hiking backpack which really made the house feel like our home. Our two young daughters were really disappointed when we had to leave at the end of our trip and are already asking when we get to come back. Thank you Judy for a great stay!!

Very nice home. Clean, inviting, away from the crowds. It was a great time and just what we needed to recharge for the upcoming school year. Owner is responsive to messaging and very nice! I would definitely recommend and would stay there again if the opportunity presented itself. Thank you!

Nice home. Driveway is a bit tricky and google maps will try to make you go down a one way road- so pay attention to what Judy provides for instructions. Judy was the first host to call me after I checked I. To see how I was doing and if I needed anything - that’s stellar service and communication. The rooms were nice and big, bathrooms with Toto bidet and swat warmers was a plus. As far as location it’s much closer to Wawona, sequoia area and South Gate. If you want cell service and super fast and reliable internet, Yosemite West is not the place to stay. If you want a nice out of the way spot to enjoy nature off-line- Yosemite west is for you. As far as the kitchen while well stocked the kitchen cookware seems to have been abused by other guests with non-Stick surfaces scratched up. We had a couple pots and a Dutch oven we felt were usable. Measuring cups and spoons were also lacking probably misplaced. Other than that everything else was great, they have a burr grinder decent coffee maker. Lots of spices and toaster, toaster oven, microwave, air fryer, instant pot and rice cooker. Staying here you should bring groceries in with you as going out to eat will be at least a 90 minute round trip and not provide many options. Bathrooms were well stocked with all basic toiletries needed. Some things I would suggest is replace feather down pillows - too soft and have a separate recycling container. But overall a fantastic getaway in Yosemite!

We stayed here during our visit to Yosemite. Would recommend! Lots of spices and cooking supplies. The bathrooms also have bidet with seat warmer and towel warmers!! The drive into hikes were about 30-40 minutes. If you are looking for place to stay near parks this is place to be.

Our stay at the Yosemite Inverness House couldn’t have been better. Judy is a fantastic communicator and her hospitality created a great 1st trip to Yosemite for our family! She even helped us navigate in during some nasty fog! The location inside the park was perfect, the house was clean, and we enjoyed comfortable nights after hiking. Highly recommend!

House was so comfortable and clean-the fireplace kept us warm and helped dry out our clothes after the rain and snow!
Driveway is steep-pay attention to Judy's directions!
And there is one set of stairs to get up to the main level of the house-just a head's up if mobility is an issue-but the house is great! Beds are comfy, bathrooms are spacious and the kitchen was well stocked.

We had the best stay! The house was perfect for the 6 of us. The house was well stocked with everything we needed, the beds were comfortable and everything about the house was cozy. We even saw a bear just outside on the driveway! Judy was extremely helpful and friendly!

My 2 sons and I stayed here for most of a week and really enjoyed the accommodations. We especially liked hanging out on the deck in the evenings and the fantastic kitchen with everything you could possibly need for cooking, which we did almost every night. The owners provided a new burr grinder for coffee, which, along with a nice coffee maker, made great coffee every morning. The location is about as far from the Yosemite West entrance as you can get so was very peaceful, with no traffic or construction noise. If we ever get back to Yosemite, we would certainly stay here again.

The house was the perfect place to stay while visiting Yosemite. It was what we needed after a day of hiking.
10.0 / 10.0
Family of six, with four teenagers. We used the house to sleep and have breakfast before we spent long days in the park. The house was very clean, comfortable, fully stocked and all we needed to bring was food. Great location for quick access to the Valley and just under 2 hour drive to Lembert Dome or Hetch Hetchy. The only downside was the washer and dryer were located in the garage (although the garage was very clean).
