About this house rental
There are plenty of windows and exterior decks that face west and south with space to enjoy the national forest surroundings. The interiors are all wood and reflect the warmth and rustic quality of a true Yosemite experience. Due to Stoneoaks unique mountain terrain, this property has 55 steps leading up to its main entrance from the Yosemite Park Way entrance. For most people, this is not a problem and is well worth the climb.
Stoneoaks has a great room that takes full advantage of the soaring A-frame. There is a small but fully equipped kitchen and a large dining table for gatherings. A wood-burning stove and a sofa sleeper in the living room, (not recommended for adults). There are two bedrooms + plus a bonus room, one with queen beds in the first bedroom, a queen bed in the 2nd bedroom, and 2 twin beds in the third bonus kids area. Stoneoaks will sleep up to 8 people. There are three bathrooms, a half bath on the lower level, a three-quarter bath on the main level, and a full bath on the upper level. There is also a den as well.
Stunning views, warm wood interiors, and the magic of the Yosemite forest; Stoneoaks has it all. There are 2 parking spots over the summer and 1 over the winter months.

Great location within the park
2.0
We rented this place back during the beginning of the year. When we arrived they stated there was an “unplanned power outage with unknown power on time.” They tried to relocate us to a different location with zero view of the park (reason we rented) and not what we had rented originally. Due to a family member needing medical device requiring power, we requested a refund, which was offered by Celicia. We found out in from another location in south Yosemite, they knew about the PLANNED power outage since the day before and did not send out notification.
After multiple phone calls, emails, txt messages we were unable to obtain ANY response from the management. We contacted VRBO to assist, no assistance obtained in receiving a refund.

Spring 2022 stay
I want to make sure I start this review by saying that I really enjoyed staying in this cabin. It was clean and spacious and the sunsets were so so so beautiful. That being said, there are some important things to note about this cabin that are different than the type of VRBO experience I’m used to. The closest grocery store is 30+ mins away, so there were some things I wished I had known when we stopped at the Walmart in Fresno on our way to the cabin! (So I’m hoping to help other families prepare a little better than we did!)
1. No spices, cooking oil, foil, Saran Wrap, containers with lids, or ice packs in the kitchen. There was salt and pepper and all the pots/pans/utensils you could need, but it was difficult to do simple things like store leftovers. Without restaurants nearby, we cooked nearly every meal (and also wanted to pack picnic lunches for the park.) We ended up buying ziplock bags for $10 at the closest store.
2. No board games or cards, and only 2 movies in the cabin. I thought this was odd, given the lack of Wi-Fi and distance from everything. We luckily had a couple of card games with us, but in trying to minimize our packing, bringing board games was not something I thought I would need to consider for a remote cabin. There are plenty of adult fiction novels and some vintage books about cross country skiing.
3. No first aid kit. Again - In the woods, not near any stores.. not even a bandaid on site…
4. No access to the washer and dryer. This is so weird for a VRBO, and not great when you’re there for a week with kids.
5. No access to broom or vacuum. Luckily my little humans didn’t create a need for one (on this trip… I’ve certainly used many vacuums and brooms in other vrbos!)
6. No body wash, shampoo, or lotion included. I’m used to there being either hotel style bottles or larger communal bottles available. More additional costs at the local market.
The listing is not quite clear about the number of beds in the cabin. There are three bedrooms (two rooms with a queen and one room with two twins) but there is also a loft with three additional twin beds. That was a nice bonus, and was where my 6 year old decided to sleep. In the loft is the TV with the DVD player. There is also a table with chairs in the loft.
The sheets and pillows are nice, but the mattresses need updating. The adults tossed and turned all week.
The pics are accurate for the updates to the master bathroom and kitchen.
Responsive host A+!!

Absolutely Perfect!
We were fortunate enough to stay in the Stone Oaks Cabin for 4 days and 3 nights. When I first booked this cabin, it was about the convenience of being inside the park (this luxury cannot be beat!!) and having a place to lay our heads down at night. I explained to my whole family that based on the pictures, it seemed the cabin was very dated. But were we wrong?! The listing needs to be updated! The cabin is AMAZING!!! The cabin has 4 balconies, an updated kitchen, an updated master bathroom and a unique design that was perfect for us. We are a family of 5 and had soooooooo much space to roam and relax. We could have easily fit another family in there with us, which we are already discussing and planning because we absolutely hope to stay there again.
As the listing and a previous review states, the cabin has some 1970s shag carpet and no phone signal or wifi. Again, I was sure to warn my boys (ages 11, 11 and 15). However, when we arrived, the carpet turned out to be just fine. Who wants to trample on and ruin a lighter carpet after exploring the park all day? The carpet was fine. Additionally, not having wifi was a blessing!! We played cards, board games, explored outdoors and enjoyed each other's company. After almost 2 years of being on a device for work and school, it was so nice to reconnect and just be.
The cabin was very clean. We loved our stay and look forward to booking again soon.

Clean cabin as promised
This property was clean and photos represented it accurately. For the price it’s a good option though there are much newer homes in Yosemite west to choose from at higher price points.
Best way to describe it is frozen in time from the 1990s. No WiFi, no clothing washer, tiny tv with a DVD player attached, 1970s carpeting, patios aged and worn wood, internal layout a little wonky.
Overall not a bad property given the size but it’s not as nice and new as some others.

Perfect Yosemite Retreat!
We loved our stay at Stoneoaks! The cabin is in a wonderful location for exploring Yosemite National Park. It's a very short drive from the Valley Floor and also from Glacier Point which provides a stunning overlook view. We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival to see so many updates to the cabin not reflected in the current listing pictures. The kitchen has new flooring, tile, cabinets and appliances, the master bath was completely redone and the living room furniture was all updated. The cabin was immaculate upon our arrival and included all amenities mentioned in listing (linens, soap, kitchen supplies, etc.). There is a beautiful view from the living room from which we could see the fall colors while enjoying a fire in the wood burning stove. We were incredibly comfortable and had everything we needed for a great stay. We look forward to returning!
