Just two blocks to the local’s favorite Blacks Beach, at the secluded end of Twin Lakes near the Harbor. At Blacks Beach your pup is allowed on leash and bonfires are permitted in the fire pits provided.
The Cottage is a perfect affordable home for a couple or small family, with all the amenities you will need for a memorable Santa Cruz adventure. The living room is especially inviting with comfortable furnishings and ambient lighting. HISTORY: The Cottage was built in the 1920’s, one of the first homes in the area. Before the neighborhood built up, there were expansive fields of flowers surrounding the Cottage and a lovely path winding down to the ocean. In the 1950's the Cottage was occupied by a family who built their dream house next door, which has since been named the Green House and remodeled into a unique vacation rental which accommodates eight.
LOCATION: The Cottage is located near Twin Lakes Beach and the Yacht Harbor, midway between Capitola and downtown Santa Cruz (both 10 minutes away). There are six fabulous restaurants within walking distance, ranging from a Hawaiian grille to a high-end Italian restaurant, and our personal favorite, Southwest-inspired Nuevo Grill. A short stroll down the beach will bring you to the yacht harbor where you will find the popular Palomar Mexican restaurant and the Crow's Nest. The Crow's Nest is a great place on Wednesday to watch the sailboat races or enjoy the sunset, a glass of wine and a bite to eat. Great appetizers! Also within walking distance is a corner food store, liquor store, deli, coffee house, video store and a farmers market on Sunday

We loved our stay here! Perfect location, 2 blocks from the beach. The cottage is clean, cute, comfortable and charming. Everything you need is here. The owner had local coffee, dog treats, and sparkling Martinelli’s out on the table for us. It was such a sweet and personal touch! It was perfect, thank you!

This cottage was very clean, comfortable and conveniently located. It is very well maintained and the owners and property manager have the cottage well supplied with what many items and more that one may need for a fantastic stay. This is an outstanding residence in Santa Cruz and we loved staying there. My wife and I stayed there for her birthday weekend.
The residence is very clean and is exactly like the pictures on the website. The kitchen is well stocked and has everything you need. When we arrived, the owner had put out for us a bottle of Martinelli's Sparkling Cider and a fresh bag of Santa Cruz Coffee.
The living room is nicely laid out and the king size bed is incredibly comfortable. The bathroom is clean and there was plenty of hot water for a shower. There was even a small second bed if you had a guest. We sat out on the front porch in very comfortable chairs in the sun and it was so nice. There is also a barbeque in the back along with a table and chairs.
One of the best points is the location. We were able to easily walk to the beach, Starbucks, restaurants, the grocery store and the yacht harbor. Once we arrived there, we rarely drove anywhere. We brought our bikes and rode all around Santa Cruz. It is a great central location.
Finally, the owner (Kim) and the property manager (Nancy) are incredibly nice and easy to work with. We had questions on a couple items and we texted Nancy on a Saturday and she immediately got back to us with answers. They are great people with whom to work.
We loved our stay there and we highly recommend this residence to anyone that is considering it. We would love to stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay. Great, easy walk to Twin Lakes Beach. We were in town for graduation and had dogs in tow. They loved the walks to the beach. Situated with easy access to all things SC. While the kitchen is small it is well stocked. Morning coffee on the porch. Great little beach house. Enjoyed the well stocked cottage, from BBQ to playing Apples to Apples.

From the moment I walked in, I felt comfortable. This cottage has a warmth and authenticity to it, almost like coming to visit family. The cottage is thoughtfully equipped with everything you need and is in fantastic proximity to everything you want to see in Santa Cruz. Walking distance to beach. Wonderful hosts, excellent communication and personal touches. Highly recommend!

Great cottage in Santa Cruz in nice neighborhood that's an easy walk to beach and restaurants. Shady backyard with a nice table for a relaxing lunch. Really enjoyed our stay there. Being able to bring our dog along was a big bonus. Owner was so nice!

Sweet and convenient
They thought of everything! We were greeted with dog treats and people treats right when we walked in the adorable and cozy home. The property was so relaxing and close to the beach, boardwalk, coffee and an awesome bakery right in walking distance. We stayed in and cooked most nights in their well stocked kitchen. The host and manager gave us our privacy, but were also only a text away. We had a great time, and our pup did too! We will be back.

Perfect home for our Mom Daughter trip!
My daughter and I have stayed at a lot of places in Santa Cruz for our annual Mom Daughter trip, and this was our favorite!! It was so sweet and cozy, with all the perfect touches and comfortable beds :) We also loved the sweet bamboo garden in the back where we had our morning coffee and breakfast.
Communication was top notch, and the welcome letter, sparkling apple cider and fresh flowers were so lovely to find upon our arrival.
Thank you so much!!

CZU Lightning Complex Fires Evacuees
Our situation was certainly not the norm. We had to evacuate our home due to the CZU Lightning Complex Fires and Kim's place was a sanctuary in the chaos of uncertainty. She let us know we could stay as long as needed and allowed us to bring our kitties so we could all be together. The cottage itself was very clean, cozy and well appointed so we could have all the comforts of home. The strong internet connection helped too so we could continue working during the week. The best part is the close proximity to the beach, markets and restaurants - being able to walk to the ocean alleviated the stress and brought us a sense of normalcy. We would definitely stay here again in better circumstances! We feels so grateful for Kim and the Santa Cruz community who stepped up for all of us evacuees.

Adorable Cottage
We had such a nice time in Kim’s sweet little beach cottage. The size was perfect for our family of 4 (two adults and two kids; ages 9 & 11) with two small dogs. The location is great too. Covid has made everything so weird, and this little getaway gave us the opportunity to get away for a little bit and still feel safe. Kim’s attention to detail and the extra touches did not go unnoticed. We would (and hope to!) definitely stay there again.

Great Location!
Kim was kind and easy to communicate with. We were welcomed with good organic coffee (I'm a coffee snob) and fresh flowers. There were even our dog's favorite treats waiting for her on the table! Comfortable cottage with everything you would need for a quick getaway. Due to COVID, we cooked most of our meals there. On the one occasion we "ate out," we picked up tasty burritos from the taqueria on the corner to bring with to the beach a few blocks down. The location is great for those wanting to relax and not have to drive. I would come back.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Had a little trouble getting into property but it was resolved quickly. Loved the location. Took a walk to the beach every morning with my dogs. Wished the backyard wasn’t all rocks. Didn’t go back there at all.

Perfect Santa Cruz Experience
Very cute and functional cottage. Kim has done everything to make you feel welcome from Steve's Smooth (our old Favorite) from Santa Cruz Roasting to the beautiful flowers on the table. As overqualified seniors we did find that exiting from one side of the bed (over the top of your spouse) in the middle of the night was challenging as was the height of the bathtub/shower but we managed to do it for 10 days. Enjoyed the cottage and the neighborhood. Twin Lakes beach is just a few blocks away and even our little chihuahuas could make it to the surf.

Much more than a cottage!
This place is great and my family had an amazing time. It is located in a prime location. The beach and dollar store store both within walking distances. My daughter's keep talking about this "beach house" and we will never rent a hotel again.

This cottage is the perfect get-away for a couple. The location is perfect if you like to spend time at the beach. Restaurants are within walking distance. The cottage is a cozy dream with a shady, private backyard. Everything you would ever need is right here. Thank you Kim. We can't wait to comeback for another stay.

Great Small cottage in a very good location

Fantastic little cottage! close to the Beach!
The Cottage was fantastic for my wife, our 2 year old daughter and small dog. Its fully furnished and ready to make meals, BBQ or walk to many near by restaurants. Kim was awesome and provided us with some fantastic recommendations. It was so much appreciated! Beach is right down the street and Capitola is just a short drive away. Don't miss out on this one when available!

Charming Santa Cruz cottage
Was able to book this last minute as our last stop on a huge road trip down the coastal highway. Great location close to the beach as well as several tasty local restaurants. Well appointed small home with an enclosed backyard, was great for our little four-legged friends. 3 beds but really only one bedroom, largest bed was only one we used, mattress was on the firm side but of excellent quality. Can be a somewhat busy street but road noise didn't really bother us, we used the fan at night. Definitely recommend you check this place out!

Comfy, clean, convenient, dog-friendly. Great beach cottage!
A very thoughtfully furnished, convenient place. Lots of space for a family with a couple of kids and a well-behaved dog. (It was just me and my wife and my dog, and the space was relatively palatial.) A very short walk to a very nice beach, with a lovely place to get coffee and a good taqueria just steps away. Yet it was very quiet. All the things you'd need for a beach vacation (chairs, towels, sand toys, dog bowls, etc.), with a well-equipped kitchen so a longer stay with lots of home-cooked meals would be easy. We'd go back in a second!

Charming and cozy
We stayed in The Cottage for 2 weeks and had a lovely time. It's located in a quiet neighborhood a block from the beach and convenient to restaurants and shopping in Santa Cruz and Capitola. Our little dog thoroughly enjoyed the small fenced back yard that can be accessed from the kitchen door.
The house was stocked with everything we needed, including flowers, excellent coffee, and baby items for when our granddaughter spent the day with us.
We felt very relaxed and at home there, which is exactly what we wanted from this trip.
