About this house rental
This is our lake house getaway for our family. There is a panoramic view of beautiful Mayfield Lake. There is a wrap-around deck on the upper level on three sides. We have furnished the 3090 square foot house to accommodate our ever-enlarging family. We have a garage with a 2-bedroom loft apartment next door (see vrbo 307616). Both the house and garage apartment are currently vacation properties. Between the two buildings, there are accommodations for 20+ people.
The house has 1 king bed, 2 queen beds, 6 twin beds and 2 queen-size sleeper sofas. We fit a memory foam pad to the sofa mattresses to make them quite comfortable. The kitchen is set up to allow you to cook your meals or there are several restaurants within short driving distances.
The real opportunity of this location and setup is that this is a great place to stay and relax or be as active as you want to be. Mayfield Lake was formed when a dam was built on the Cowlitz River. Mayfield Lake offers boating, water sports, fishing (8 varieties), hunting, and Ike Kinswa State Park for swimming and other children's activities. The nearest boat launch and lake access is at the Ike Kinswa State Park, which is just a 2-mile drive from the house. A Discover Pass is required for parking at the state park. There is sport fishing on the Cowlitz (salmon and steelhead in season), hiking in the hills and mountains, skiing/boarding at White Pass winters, and sightseeing in the Cascade Range.
A drive to Randle, WA puts you nestled in the middle of Mt. Rainier, Mt. Adams, and Mt. St. Helens. The natural beauty of the area still puts me in awe after years of enjoyment. There are restaurants, horseback riding, and other services in the small towns around the area with the type of folks that are warm and welcoming.
Check-in time is at 4:00 p.m. or later.
Check-out time is 12:00 noon or earlier.
Neighborhood Considerations: Quiet hours are between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. every day of the week. The property is in a quiet neighborhood and that must be maintained during the quiet hours.
If you are looking for a getaway with lots of choices for activities, you have found it!

Loved our time here! House is so spacious and well laid out for our big family! It was so nice having Katie there to check us in and give us the tour of the house. She was super helpful and nice.

The manager was exceptionally helpful checking in. Very nice, extremely spacious, well equipped house. Would sleep ten to twelve people comfortably. Any more would have to sleep on futons on the floor. A little disappointed that the hot tub listed was only a jetted bath tub.

Very much as advertised. Beautiful view of lake. Well stocked kitchen. Clear directions. Check in person went beyond call when we were trapped by road construction.

Very positive except for the basement bathroom. The toilet is very close to the floor and made more for a child.

We loved the place. The owners were so very nice and responded quickly to my questions. The amenities were above and beyond what might be needed or wanted for a getaway with friends and family. Beautiful spacious home with an amazing view of the lake. The drive to the lake was minutes away.

It worked well for our fishing trip to the Cowlitz. The view from the deck is beatutiful! We enjoyed the ping pong table. The coffee maker uses cone filters and all that was stocked was round filters.

We had 26 family gather for our annual Clan Christmas party. Some from the Seattle area, some from Vancouver-Portland area so very centrally located for travel.

This was the perfect setting for our family vacation. We had people fly in from LA and North Carolina. The property was perfect and the host was fantastic!

The house was clean with plenty of space and bedroom options. We loved the wrap around deck and the “view.” Had a great time playing lawn games in the evenings.

The owners were great to deal with. Easy to check in and the manager was wonderful and easy to message with prior to checking in. The house was super clean and had everything and then some! Room for everyone that needed a bed. My sisters stayed next door so we were able to easily run between the places. Thank you for the great stay!

This was our second year at this property - had a great family gathering even though weather did not cooperate. Cooler and rained the day we had planned lake activities. Will plan on coming back.

A lovely retreat
We had a lovely stay near Mayfield Lake. The house is in a small community. The views were gorgeous, the environment was peaceful, and we had plenty of space for everyone. As a family reunion, our focus was each other so the location was perfect.
The ping pong table and TV downstairs gave the kids a place to hang out while the rest of us talked upstairs. At first we wondered about the couches being back to back rather than facing each other, but it allowed those wanting to talk and those wanting not to to each have a space to be.
There were lots of little extras. We appreciated the treats and the pancake mix--little touches that made us feel at home. We also appreciated being able to bring our two dogs with us. They *love* family reunions!
We did excursions to Chehalis (check out Penny Park and mini golf) and Mt. St. Helens. We also rented the apartment over the garage which worked well for our 4 adult couples and 8 older offspring (10-25, none sharing beds, one on a sofa bed). If you're looking for a quiet and peaceful retreat for a large group, I definitely recommend this property!

Great space for a large crowd
It was easy to check in and easy to make last minute changes to the reservation and the amenities were great only negative was the hot water was not enough to fill the tub.

Great space for family
Excellent location with views of the lake, but what we loved the most was big kitchen, large open floor space under high ceilings where we could meet all together and hang out. Just what the holiday season needed!

Great Stay
What a view and such a nice piece of property!! The kitchen had all the things we needed and the house had plenty of space. The room with four twins was fun for the kids to sleep in. Also came stocked with toilet paper, all the soaps, hot cocoa, coffee and filters among other things. We have found houses especially this past year being stingy on things like that. It really felt ready for our long weekend stay and we look forward to coming back.

Great house for family gatherings
Lovely view. It’s nice to sit on the porch. The house is very spacious. Everything was very clean, convenient, well-stocked and well-organized. I think it’s a very good deal. Too bad that there aren’t more places to walk to from the house and that you have to drive to get to food. Super close to Ike Kinswa Park!! Really wonderful place to stay.

Great view and comfortable house!
Twelve of us stayed here very comfortably and really enjoyed our time in this home. Plenty of space to do games, cooking meals, and let kids play. Kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms all well-stocked with essentials and beyond, and well-maintained! Hosts communicate well. Would definitely stay here again!

A great place for a great get away and reuniting with families and friends
This place was just the right one for my families coming from all over to celebrate our daughter's wedding. It had a beautiful breathtaking view, a full kitchen to prepare meals, and so much room to lounge around and enjoy each other's company. The owner was very responsive. We would recommend this place to anyone and would love to go there again for more family gatherings and to create more memories. Thank you for letting use your place for a week. Just awesome.

Enjoyable Property.
We were in the area for the funeral of my mother in law. The house gave my husband and brother-in-law families a place to stay together. Much better than separate rooms at a hotel. The house had all the amenities we could expect. It was wonderful to not to have to go search for coffee each morning. The house provided all the utensils for preparing meals. Bed sheets were soft! Quiet area and the view was great. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful lake retreat
We had an absolutely amazing stay at this lake house. Our large extended family stayed for four nights, and it was set up wonderfully to accommodate our group! The home was well appointed, clean and inviting. The views of the lake were beautiful, and there was plenty of parking for our 2 boats, and other vehicles. The two boat ramps on Mayfield Lake were within 10 min of the house. The owners were very informative and responsive, and communicating with them was very easy. We made great memories, and will likely look into staying again!

Have any questions or doubts, read my informative,
Stayed during 80 degree weather with 4 adults/4 kids. Plenty of room. The house has a view of the Lake; nice from the upper deck. There are BBQs, but we used a special grill insert on the stove. Worked great. The couches upstairs were on coasters; we could turn them to face the windows at dark for a great view of the night sky. The house has 2 levels with gravel parking on both. Pulling up to the second level (behind house) you will see a very accommodating fire pit tucked into the back of the gravel driveway. Plenty of room for parking. upper level includes: kitchen, dining room, big livingroom w/ tv big sectional and recliners, master bed with shower (no tv), main bathroom with (jetted tub), and a laundry room (with twin bed). The house is stocked with supplies, extra pull out beds, games, movies towels kitchen items, and more. Soft beds! Downstairs: main area with tv and sectional and ping pong table, bathroom (with tub/shower), and 3 bedrooms. 1st bedroom- 4 twin beds 2nd bedroom- TV, queen bed and day bed 3rd bedroom- no windows, one queen bed. I really wanted this room for sleeping in. The house is big and vaulted so naturally you can hear people upstairs from down, but you’ll want to wake up early to enjoy your coffee on the deck as you watch the sun come up. lower level has a cement patio with swing.
Boating details: to a boat launch, from the house, is a 5-10 min drive. You can put your boat in at Ike Kinswa state park boat launch. Be careful because the launch is old and gets congested. Once your in, the lake has docks scattered around at different locations, where you can tie up and use a restroom or get a bite to eat. Getting your boat back out might also take some patience. There is another launch on the other side of the lake that is much easier. It is at mayfield lake resort. No delivery available, small selection of restaurants for dine in and to go. Convenient store with gas 5 min drive.
I tried to be as informative as possible. Owners are great and fast at responding to questions. Neighbors were nice and pleasant. The lady next door is very kind. She let us in. The people who share the back yard with this home, are so nice and waived daily through the cyclone fence. We would stay here again. And next time, we’d bring the boat.
