this was my third time up in the bar harbor area. It was great to stay in a new location, this house in the woods in seal harbor is right up the road from a beach and easy to get to surrounding trails.

What a home! Comfortable and cozy and super clean, with everything you need. It’s away from the hubbub of Bar Harbor but only takes 10 minutes to get there or NE area. Wonderful hikes are also so close, and can walk down to seal harbor beach or the cute little block of town.

This is a lovely house in a very convenient location away from the bustle by close to so much. Like others, we hesitate to let the secret out about this right-size home for our group of four adults. The well-equipped house is tucked away in the woods with modern appliances and pretty much everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The owners and caretaker were available and responsive when we had a minor issue upon our arrival. We will plan to return for future visits!

Hidden House II is true to it’s wonderful description and high reviews. Nature surrounds you. The setting is a quiet haven away from the noise and crowds of Bar Harbor. And yet, the location is convenient to everything and close to Acadia National Park.
House is spacious, comfortable, exceptionally clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything you’ll need & more. Heat on a chilly morning was easy to regulate. Research on the family history (father served a long term as one of Harvard’s most significant presidents) enriched our stay. Beautiful neighborhood with some steep, narrow roads.
Thank you, Rosemary & David, for an amazing 2 weeks. We absolutely loved it; and like other guests, hope to keep it a bit of a secret so we can return. Julie & Paul, Traverse City, MI

This house is in a wooded area, yet with houses close by. It's very quiet there. Also, it's very dark at night. The house is clean and well stocked. It was very comfortable. This was our third time staying there. We recommend it.

This was a wonderful house. Unfortunately, my wife was having a bad reaction to a covid vaccine and spent a lot of time indoors -- and we couldn't have asked or a nicer place to do so.
All rooms were well appointed; kitchen was well stocked; and there were not only good books around but two reading chairs.
A beautiful place, light filled, comfortable. We'll be back.

A quiet house house on a hill surrounded by woods with an easy walk down to the harbor and ocean. Very close to the entrance to Acadia and hiking trails. The house was clean and had a nice outside patio eating area next to the woods. We couldn't figure out the TV, it had a Amazon Fire stick but no login info, and one of the beds was very soft, but otherwise the house was very nice and convenient.
David and Rosemary were a pleasure to rent from. It was a wonderful stay! Thank you!

Hidden Gem
We loved our stay at Hidden House II. We arrived after dark and it was a little hard to find. I definitely recommend arriving during daylight hours! The common area of the house was larger than we expected - very comfortable to gather our extended family who were staying nearby. I really enjoyed walking our dog through the neighborhood - there are lots of hills, beautiful homes and glimpses of Seal Hatbor along the way. The bedrooms were comfortable and all the linens were provided. We showed up with our clothes and food and had everything we needed! The location was ideal - quiet but only 15 minutes to the fun of Bar Harbor and so close the all the amazing Acadia hikes. I even walked down to the beach at Seal Harbor a couple times. During our stay, we kayaked with Maine State Sea Kayak and went on a whale watching boat with Bar Harbor Whale Watch Company. Highly recommend both groups! We also drove up to the Cadillac Mountain Summit - make sure to make a reservation! Thanks for a wonderful vacation Hidden House II!

Relaxing Getaway
Very comfortable house with all the amenities of home. I was glad we had a place to relax away from all of the hubbub of Bar Harbor and Acadia; the park was severely over crowded. The location of the house was ideal, which got us away from all the congestion, and gave us an opportunity to explore other areas and nearby trails. The only downfall of the location was that it was difficult to maneuver with a large vehicle, but we managed just fine once we knew roads.

Great quiet location
If you want to be close to everything but avoid the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor, stay here. We were 15 minutes from Bar Harbor and 5 minutes from entrance to Acadia. The backyard is a quiet little oasis. The House is a little older, but no issues. It was clean and well kept. Highly recommend!

Hidden House 2
What a great home and in my several conversations with Rosemary I was able to learn much about the property history and her family !
It’s a great story !!
I could live right here for the rest of my life!
We biked and hiked and everything including the weather was perfect.
Seal Harbor is a great little town .
Minutes from Bar Harbor ..
Wouldn’t change a thing except … make our stay longer

Great location, very nice space and setting
Dated. Very much needs love and attention. Need new Beds in two secondary rooms. Kitchen and bathrooms just look shabby.
Someone should go through the pots, pans, spices, knives etc. and throw out some of the useless stuff that is filling up the cabinets. Fix cabinet doors.
Having said all of that, we really enjoyed our week and felt that the place was great for our purposes.
With upgrading we would be happy to pay more for the week.

Wonderful location and accommodations
We found the location and accommodations perfect for our family vacation to Acadia National Park. The close proximity to Seal Harbor and dining within walking distance were added bonuses. Rosemary was also very responsive to all our questions. Will definitely book again on our next visit to the area!

Perfect location on the quieter Seal Harbor
This is a cozy home that still has lots of space. The floor to ceiling windows are a plus. Excellent location on a quieter part of MDI.

Rustic house near Jordan pond
The home was a nice location near the park and away from Bar Harbor. The house had a rustic feel to it. It was fully equipped with kitchen supplies spices towels and Linens. We enjoyed the Tv at night and the patio outside. We did not enjoy the beds they are outdated and my wives back degraded over the vacation. And the twin beds my 20 year old slept on springs were pushing against her. The furniture was uncomfortable. The shower in the back room runs poorly. While I could of called the helper I doubt he could of fixed the water pressure beds or furniture during our stay. Lastly I appreciated the host response she was friendly and speedy to answer my questions prior to our stay

Wonderful location
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Hidden House II. The space worked well for me, my daughter and our dog, and we were close to many Acadia hikes throughout Mount Desert Island. As one of the other reviewers mentioned, it was the best home base. We would gladly return.

Seal Harbor Gem
Hidden House 2 was the perfect location for exploring Acadia National Park, the carriage trails, and Bar Harbor. Situated close to a beautiful cove, we discovered many wonderful walking trails and swimming spots for our puppy, including nearby Little Long Pond. The house was very well equipped with kitchen appliances
so we dined in twice during our stay. Not to be missed are the Asticou Azeala Gardens, the Acadia Wild Garden and the Asticou Inn for a great outdoor dining experience with fabulous views of the harbor. We loved the area and will definately be back!

Great Quiet Private Vacation Rental
The property was wonderful. Cathedral ceilings in the main living area. Nice set up for a family with the main bedroom and bath on one side and the two other bedrooms and another bath on the other side of the house. Plus they allow dogs. Perfect location for us and very quiet. We like to be away from Bar Harbor which is a 15 minute car ride. Close to carriage and hiking trails. The house is tucked into the evergreens. It was a short walk to beautiful Seal Harbor beach. The owners quickly responded to any questions we had.

Great home base for Acadia
Hidden House II was the perfect launch pad for our adventures in Acadia! We spent most of our days exploring the park and the location was perfect for all those adventures. The house's layout was perfect for our family. Plenty of space and kids ran around outside while we got everything ready for the day's outing. We made most meals at the house too (or ate them there) and we were never lacking for anything we needed. We really hope we are able to go back and would definitely stay again. Thank you for the great location and communication.
