About this house rental
Welcome to the Maine house. Large, spacious home located on Webber Pond with water views from every room! Please note, we only advertise on VRBO. Gorgeous eastern exposure for spectacular sunrises. Relaxation is unavoidable when you sit on the deck that overlooks the water on this quiet lake, as you catch sight of so many wild bird types and other wildlife that exist here. Bald Eagles typically catch and perch close by. The cry of Loon is so memorable, you'll want to come back to hear it again and again. Sandy, shallow beach area that is ideal for families with children.
No mooring available but a boat can be tied to the properties own dock. Take special note of the public boat launch area that is just a couple hundred yards away from the lake house. Great fishing and boating lake. The BASS organization has recently ranked Webber Pond as top 100 bass fishing lakes in the United States. Fishing variety consists of small and large mouth bass, perch, lake & brown trout, and others. In the springtime Alewife run heavy and are a site to see. Each year several hundred thousand return on their annual run from ocean to the lake during spawning season! This has helped the bass and other predatory fish populations in the lake. Bald Eagles, Osprey, Great Blue Heron and the King Fisher love it also.
Equipped with one two-person kayak and two single-person kayaks. Flotation devices and life jackets available. There are two islands on the lake that you can explore. Lakeside fire pit!
Natanis Golf Course which is located 2 minutes away on Webber Pond Rd. in Vassalboro, is the only golf course in the State of Maine to offer *36 regulation holes*.
Winter enthusiast: this year-round home is located on the 'ITS 85' snowmobile trail! Ride to Augusta or to Canada. Park your snowmobile at the house and warm up inside at the fireplace!
Enjoy Ice fishing here and watch the flags from the windows while you enjoy the radiant floor heat on the walkout level. Have lunch at the bar watching the game or spend the morning out on the ice with a bald eagle sitting next to you waiting for some fish, and when it gets too cold, watch flags from inside the house. It’s a great feature! What could be better than that?
Sugarloaf is 1 hour 40 away. Camden snow bowl is just over an hour.
Off-season, winter rentals welcome.

Our stay was perfect, the home was well equipped with kitchen needs, rooms were all large. Plenty of games to play & puzzles to build. The host offered use of canoes, kayaks, along with life jackets of all sizes. Fish were plentiful, golf nearby.

Scott was a lovely host, and we had a wonderful time at his home. There was plenty of room and a beautiful view to wake up to each morning. We didn’t have Verizon cell service; but the WiFi was perfect for working remotely, and the televisions worked great for the children to watch. The kitchen was well stocked, and we had everything we needed. There were many small bugs outside at night, so we had to make sure to keep the screens closed. We caught many fish in Webber Pond, and we had fun using the kayaks. We saw bald eagles multiple times which was especially exciting!

Really enjoyed our stay at this Webber Pond house. House was beautifully decorated and had all amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. Loved sitting on the deck overlooking the water, listening to the loons and watching the eagles and cranes fly by. My son had fun catching several large mouth bass. Great communication from the host. Hope to be back soon!

Yearly fishing trip with 3 friends. Check in was a breeze. Owner was on site to greet and show us the property. Scott gave us the particulars and left us to ourselves but happy to help if there was anything we need. Boat trouble limited our fishing but the golf course nearby was perfect to fill the hours. Boat access is close, convenient and easy to launch. House was clean with all you’d need for bbq, fire ring, exterior chairs and lake front. House was comfortable and clean with all amenities required for our stay. Will be sack again next year.

We had a great stay over Thanksgiving weekend. We're rented the house so we could host our inlaws for the big dinner and found the kitchen too be very well stocked. Gorgeous views of the lake, lots of games (loved the bar and foosball especially!), and comfortable beds. Highly recommend!

This was our third stay at the Maine House . It was exactly how we remembered from our last stay 5 years ago. House is beautifully situated in the perfect location on Weber pond. We rented a pontoon for the week and our family loved being out on the water all week. Very different experience going with my now three adult children versus teenagers. We all enjoyed watching eagles, loons and all that nature has to offer. Perfect getaway too bring us all together. Thank you!

We had a great time at the lake-kayaking, swimming, fishing and bird watching. We visited several towns and went hiking. The house was very clean and had everything that we needed.

This is a great house in a very convenient location. You can get here easily and still be set to explore from here. House was perfectly laid out for a multigenerational week. Kids loved the downstairs, and we were able to gather as a family on the main level. Morning coffee on the deck overlooking the pond was magnificent. Host has all the info you need to settle in. Loved walking the dirt road and paddling in the pond. Weekends are a bit busy on this pond but that is normal for summer in maine.

My family stayed for two weeks in July 2023. This was our 3rd visit to the Maine House on Webber Pond. Fishing was successful with my grandson beating me by 25 bass to my 23! House is clean and the view from the deck is a picture perfect setting. All the amenities you require for cooking & eating. Kayaks were well used. The owner Scott is always available if needed.

The Maine House is exactly as advertised: a peaceful lake house on Webber Pond. The property is in very good shape, and the kitchen has all the necessities. There's a great view of the pond from the house. We had some nice walks nearby in the forest.
Scott's instructions are very clear and reasonable, and he's a great communicator: we always knew what to do to get into the property and what we needed to do before we left.

Scott is a great host and the accommodations were perfect. Convenient boat launch 100 yards from the house made getting the boats on the water a breeze. Great location on the pond. The Maine House has everything needed to have a relaxing stay.

Our 2nd year spending some of the holiday season at this wonderfully quiet and beautiful location. Clean, spacious and well equipped house with great views right on the lake shore. Eagles every day! Scott is a great host and everything about this house was great for us.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and it was a nice home. The owners/managers were quick with responses to questions via text. However, the one major issue we had was that the bedroom on the upper level with the queen bed was blocked off and not available to use. When I texted the owners immediately upon discovering this, I was told it was a "seasonal room" and not available in cold weather. We did not see that mentioned anywhere in the vrbo description or anywhere in the booking process. They suggested using the futon, but that is NOT a bed and it was NOT comfortable. There was never any offer to make it up to us in any way. Very disappointing. I hope they have corrected this on vrbo. Beyond that, we had no problems with our stay. There were a few cobwebs in upper corners and some dust on a light fixture or two, but overall it was very clean. We would've liked a step by step instruction sheet on operating the tv with 2 remotes and switching from regular tv to services like Netflix, but we struggled through with guesswork. Again, overall it was fine and we enjoyed our stay - aside from missing the 2nd larger bed.

The house and property are absolutely lovely. I would not recommend arriving at night. It is dark and somewhat hard to read street signs to get to the property — my gps had to reroute several times when I missed a turn or two. I also find dark night arrivals whether hotels or houses not a welcoming feeling. That’s just me. It is very warm and lovely home right on the beautiful pond.

This home on Webber Pond is in a beautiful area with lots of farm land and rolling hills. Very peaceful.
Scott was very helpful and communication with him excellent. My only complaint was that the downstairs bar room had several spider webs and a dirty throw blanket and the DVD player was not in good working condition.
The house description was a bit deceiving, there are actually 2 rooms on the top
floor for sleeping (queen bed in one room and a day bed in the other room). The main floor has one queen bed. The lower level has a room with a twin and bunk beds, and another room (bar room) with a full sized futon. The bathrooms are on the main floor and the lower level.
Overall, a very nice place! I would definitely recommend!

Great family get away, fabulous location, accommodations were excellent. Kayaks were put to great use, fishing was good but needed some larger bass. Grandkids enjoyed playing in the water.
The house has all the implements required for enjoying the week. Also, you can enjoy Boothbay Harbor only an hour away, if you need a day away from the pond. Going back next year.

Peaceful and beautiful
The house is very comfortable and what a view! Though the listing says two bedrooms and a futon, there are actually three full bedrooms (I’m guessing the upstairs bedroom shown in the photos was completed after the listing was made). When I choose a place to rent, one thing I enjoy is seeing birds and wildlife, and this place was wonderful for that—even from the front porch we saw loons out front, eagles fly overhead, herons fishing off the rocks, and lots of little fish off the dock. Great crested flycatchers perched on the railings, redstarts, and warblers were in the trees, hummingbirds flew by, and we even had had a fledgling robin perch on the kitchen porch while the parent tried to coax it to fly.
The highlight was a little mink that we saw 6 times dart along the rocks out front with fish in his mouth. He must live nearby. And on the last morning I went kayaking at 6 am and saw two foxes playing on a nearby yard.
The pond is wide and the wind has little to slow it down, so I found kayaking was easiest early morning and around sunset. The breeze keeps the bugs away, though, and that was great because they can be a nuisance in June. We had a few thunderstorms and it was dramatic to watch the rain approaching as it crossed the lake.
The house is well set up for cooking, but also not far from restaurants, etc. It’s really the best of both worlds.
The dock is in a small protected inlet, and though we didn’t have children with us, the small, shallow, sandy beach area would be easy for little ones.
The WiFi worked perfectly but if you have AT&T, you may have no service once you leave the house. So just jot down directions before you leave the house if that’s the case for you.
If anyone in your group is a gardener (or wants to bring home some lupine), a fun place to visit is Fieldstone Gardens, a nursery and beautiful garden area off in the woods 10 minutes away.
This was our first time at Scott’s place and it exceeded our expectations. A few reviews mention the property line being close to the neighbors. That’s true but it’s well marked now with a few discrete markers and there is plenty of room on the lawn directly in front of the cabin and still be respectful that you are in a small neighborhood of cottages. Everyone was friendly—in fact as I kayaked early morning, people having coffee on their porches waved to me.
Highly enjoyed and recommended.

Comfy, cozy property with lots of space in a great location with a great view!
This great home sits right on the shores of a beautiful lake, and surrounded by lots of roads and trails to walk (or snowmobile). The location seems remote but in 8 minutes you can be to great restaurants, cute towns and every kind of shopping you'd need. You'll love it!

what a joy
my partner and infant and i all thrived here; what a beautiful retreat. the light over the water in the morning, the spectacularly clear night skies were wonderful. and the place is just set up to revel in the wide water views, and to relax into the maine at its best. we were really grateful to have found the place, and Scott could not have been a more generous host. the place is well appointed and comfortable and in a truly exceptional setting. dont hesitate.

We spent Thanksgiving here and it was perfect! The home was clean, the location beautiful and the communication with Scott timely and accurate. We were also having a mini wedding reception nearby (St Bridget’s Center - highly recommended!) and the house was a great place to prepare.
