About this cottage rental
Relax with the family or friends at this peaceful cottage. Just 5 feet from the waters edge and equipped with a dock, kayaks and adirondack chairs you can sit and enjoy the loons or cast a line for some of the best fishing in Maine. 20 minutes outside of the capital of Augusta and the adorable town of Hallowell, there are plenty of dining options: Cushnoc Brewing, State Lunch, The Quarry Taproom, and Slates. Golfers, Natanis golf course is just 2 miles away! Boat owners - feel free to use our private dock during your stay! The boat ramp is on the South side of Webber.
Webber pond is a quaint, quiet body of water that is drained (mid-late September) and refilled each year to help prevent algae blooms and promote safe swimming. Our tips for considering a stay on webber pond at our cottage.
- Our cottage is cute and small (600 sq ft!). Perfectly fits a couple and a young child or two in the extra room with bunkbeds.
- Looking to swim? Recent record breaking heat means Webber heats up faster than usual and dry spells limits the amount of "flushing" that can occur. This means occasionally cloudy water, possible heavy seaweed seasons, etc. The bottom of the pond is soft so we recommend water shoes/sandals.
-Looking to fish? Webber has been called the "bass factory". Bass, perch, crappie - Webber usually does quite well.
- There will be bugs (spiders, mosquitos, may flies). The property is properly cleaned before each guest and we will usually go check it ourselves if we're in the area. However, this is Maine wilderness living and the bugs love the fresh air and water like we do. :)
Don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or need more information before booking.

The property itself is wonderful. How ever due to recent heavy rains, the road down to it was terribly rough with very deep potholes that were impossible to avoid.

It was the perfect cottage for our first family vacation of 4 (3.5 & 8 months) plus our dog. They graciously dropped off items for infant and toys for our 3.5y/o.
The dock was great for our boat rental and some evening cocktails. We can’t wait to visit Webber Pond again

The cottage was lovely on the inside, beautiful pond views and welcoming AC. Full sized appliances. Location is private and quiet. However, I had assumed I would be able to enjoy swimming in the pond. I was not expecting the water to be full of slimy green vegetation. I was assured it is nontoxic, however it was just so unappealing. My dogs even seemed to know not to swim in it! I also had to scrub the kayaks and life jackets as they were covered in leaf debris and bugs. Not what I would expect for this price point. I saw lots of people fishing so the pond is great if that’s what you are hoping for. Swimming- not so much. Property owner was easy to reach and seemed to sympathize with my disappointment.

This house a few feet from the lake has a wonderful dock with chairs to watch the ospreys and bald eagles fish. In the distance, we saw otters feed and turtles paddle by close to shore. There are bountiful fish to be caught including sunfish, perch, bass, crappie, and one wily pickerel. The kitchen has everything you need to cook and the beds are comfortable. A magical place with amenities 20 minutes away. Terrence is very responsive and helpful.

What a great slice of peace we found here! We were so thankful to find a wooded lot on one side of the cabin giving a lot of privacy and on the other side were the sweetest neighbors. We enjoyed bird watching, kayaking around the islands, and listening to the rain on the lake. For our size family it was wonderful to have the outdoor picnic table for mealtimes. Terrence was always timely with communications and generous with recommendations. I wish he and his wife all the best!

Week of Wonder at Webber Pond
Our stay at this Webber Pond camp was just what we needed! Eagles, osprey, Great Blue Heron, owls, and loons, Oh My!
Our hosts were kind and easily accessible when we had questions. The camp is clean, beds are more comfortable than home. :)
The only problem we had was that we had to leave. Our child and dog are already planning a trip for next year.
