Needed multi bedrooms and bats to accommodate family attending a wedding - helped to have everyone staying in one location for communication

Our family including young adult kids, grannies, cousins, and dog had a fabulous mid-holiday break at this Hood Canal home. The house was very spacious, with several different gathering areas plus ample private spaces. The property is gorgeous with lawns, beach access, and the most beautiful wrap around porch which was perfect for enjoying the views while it was a bit rainy. Hosts were immediately responsive to our questions and requests. We would love to come back again!

We were incredibly moved by the host's thoughtful Christmas gifts and decorations. Coming from the city, we especially appreciated the careful explanations about the hard water. Our whole family was so satisfied spending a warm, cozy Christmas here. We can't thank you enough for everything.

Couldn’t ask for a more Scenic view and loads of space for everyone to feel like they have their own spot. We really enjoyed our time here and used the state of the art kitchen to prepare a big meal for 13 people. This would not be possible at all places we have stayed at. The bedding throughout was very nice and all the beds were comfortable. The sauna is absolutely fantastic addition and was enjoyed by our entire group. Beautiful views from every balcony of which there are several. Also multiple bathrooms which is nice when traveling with teenage girls :) the host Shirley was amazing! Great contact and follow up before and during our stay. Would highly recommend.

We hosted a family birthday weekend here for 15+ adults. It was a perfect venue. To start off, it was spotless. The kitchen was large, clean and very well stocked with large pots, ample dishes and wine glasses and lots of condiments and spices available. The dining room table opens up much larger than in the picture, and there are plenty of chairs to go around it. The grassy yard stretches out in front of the house with a gorgeous view of the Hood Canal. The firepit looking over this beautiful view was a wonderful way to end the evening. The house works rain or shine due to the lovely, large wrap around porch. Everything was provided - from firewood for the inside fireplace to logs for the firepit, to a large gas BBQ, as well as a charcoal BBQ. Our host, Shirley, answered all our questions and showed us all around the place upon check in. Highly recommend this great place for your next large gathering.

It was a great house to rent for my family to use during my son’s wedding. It was very close to the wedding venue and provided many activities to keep everyone busy. A beautiful scenic area.

If our family listed accommodations, outdoor features, proximity to beach and water that would make for an ideal place, High Bank House would meet all our expectations. It did!

The property was fantastic for our 3 family gathering of 12 people total! The house is huge and well stocked with what you need and whatever they don't have you can grab at one of the nearby grocery stores. Everyone enjoyed the ample yard space, fire pit, and beach access (the kids loved looking for crabs and shells)! The location was great for exploring the Olympic Peninsula!

We were short 1 bedroom for an adult couple, but they were willing stay on the 3rd floor with the kids.
Access to the Hood Canal was great. The porch was wonderful on the rainy days.

Nice house and decent property. Listing says hot tub but there was none and manager just blew off our question about why. Some bedrooms don’t have window coverings, a major issue in June when sun is up at 5am. Lacking in supplies as had to ration paper towels and trash bags. Place was clean and no ick factors and despite few issues noted we enjoyed our stay a lot. Manager was responsive and answered our texts very timely.

This house worked very well for our two-night women's book club getaway. We are all in our seventies, so having plenty of bedrooms and, especially, bathrooms was wonderful.
The house was short on a few things, such as Kleenex and table napkins (there were none that we could find), and the smallest bedroom lacked curtains or shades on the windows and had a wonky table lamp) but everything else was very well appointed.
There was a mix-up with the booking (the house was somehow double-booked for our days) but we had the flexibility to find different days for our group, unlike the other group, which had booked if for a family wedding, and the owner and manager bent over backwards to make it work for us. The manager was very accessible and helpful throughout.
The property was lovely, but a little remote in the sense that there was no convenience store for missing supplies within a short driving distance.
Our book club did a play reading of "The Mouse Trap," by Agatha Christie, which is set in an English country lodging house, so the living room with its huge stone fireplace was a real asset to our "set"!

We needed a large place for about 10 of us to stay for a local wedding. The house did not disappoint! Large enough for all of us, plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, and the views cannot be beat! We had enough room to host the rehearsal dinner on the lawn even! The host was very accommodating and communicated well. We'd love to return!!

The house was perfect, the kitchen was well equipped, the large dinning table held all 10 of us easily and sitting around the fire was great. It was a beautiful retreat from the city life and being with friends and family was sublime. And with all the nature and quietness with only your group of people around you you're only 10/15 minutes away from a Walmart (that's crazy).

The house was awesome and easily fit us all, with lots of room to sprawl out. It's also very close to town, where we visited a couple of times. If we come to Poulsbo again, we will definitely stay here again!

Brandi was wonderful. Home is beautiful and everyone had own bed and bath space. Kitchen is amazing! Beds are comfortable. Large porch to enjoy sitting out in nature. Beach is nice for viewing sunsets! We enjoyed day trips to Olympic National Park and Port Townsend and back home to enjoy cozy evenings at this beautiful, quality home.

We had 10 people and two dogs. The kitchen is fabulous for cooking. Lots of spaces for people to spread out and do their own thing. Beautiful view from the lawn and a wonderful beach even at high tide.

The house was amazing. Brandi was kind and very helpful. People staying in the cottage on the water side felt like an invasion of our privacy.

Great location on Hood Canal with beach/water access. Nice backyard perfect for kids to play and s’mores at sunset. Large house, but not a very open floor plan on the first floor. Top floor is a very nice open hangout space. Large kitchen worked well for our group size.

Diversity of activities inside and out was most appealing (something for everyone). Because beach access, large lawn and fire pit were listed we knew to bring our kayaks, lawn games and firewood which enhanced our outdoor time. We were all very comfortable in the spacious house. The entire property is exceptional and was perfect for our family. We hope to return next year.

Absolutely beautiful property on Hood Canal - we loved the view from the porch and lawn, plunging in the water at the beach, and sharing meals in the beautiful kitchen.

This is a lovely property with amazing views of the Hood Canal. It has easy access to the beach and is a short drive to Poulsbo and the Olympic Peninsula. There are however, a few surprises that a potential renter needs to be aware of:
1. The caretaker lives in a small cabin on the circular driveway in front of the house.
2. The owner’s son and partner also live on the premises in a small cabin in the backyard next to the fire pit. They tried to make themselves inconspicuous but there was frequently a car parked in front of the cabin, and they also had guests themselves. Also we were surprised when we saw them several times a day enter the basement apartment of our rental to use the bath and laundry facilities.
3. The pictures do not show these cabins but both are within direct view of and 75 feet from the house.
4. There was a guest fee when booking that was not mentioned in the listing. Even though the house sleeps 15, there is a $50 fee per guest over 4 guests.
5. As others have mentioned the linens and white towels sorely need to be replaced. Even when washed, they retained an unpleasant smell. Many of the pillows had seen better days and the blanket for the main bedroom is two sizes too small for the bed and has numerous large holes.
6. While the house has numerous sleeping areas to accommodate a large group, the small upstairs TV room only has four chairs while the downstairs den seating area is so small we had to split our group between there and the adjacent dining table.
7. The kitchen is fabulous but the cabinets have a very sticky residue that could not be removed with a cleaning agent. There does need to be more silverware but otherwise the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, utensils, crock ware, glassware and seasonings/oils, and the appliances are in excellent shape.
8. The caretaker is very responsive to any issue including carting the trash and recycle bins up the road. She does the best with what the rental offers and she is given. Despite the fact that (his bio is included in the house manual) the home is owned by a multi-millionaire entrepreneur, it was surprising to find such dated furnishings throughout the house and inadequate furniture (such as the lack of modern outdoor furniture) on the beautiful wraparound porch. Flea market finds can be quaint but shouldn’t be uncomfortable or unsuitable for their intended purpose.
9. This is an older home with paper thin walls so noise is easily heard.

We enjoyed our week in this roomy big home. Everything was clean and the kitchen was amazing. The beds were firm, so it wasn’t my usual jam, but the linens were great quality. If we had any complaints, it’s that we were surprised there was only one TV in such a large place. Overall a great stay.

Beautiful house with lots of space. Right on the beach.

Great location and beautiful view. Property manager is very nice and easy to speak with if you need anything.
Few issues....
The house desperately needs more drinking cups, silverware, wine glasses, bowls. If the house accommodates that many people you need to have more of the basics to get by.
The house was just a top coat clean. The kitchen cupboards were so sticky, the bedding we slept in on the top floor had crumbs and stains on them, and all 5 beds are on the ground making it not super comfortable.
There is a basement that was unlocked and has mouse poop and a moldy smell. The manager told me that her and the owners son will come and do laundry down there from time to time. Sort of weird to have people down there when we are staying in the house?
Lastly, there is a small cabin in the backyard that is right next to the fire pit. We were having a fire out back one evening and all of the sudden a light came on and we saw someone in the cabin. What bothered us is that nowhere on the listing did they mention that the owners son lives in there. That is really close to the house and took us by surprise. I think it should be mentioned so people can make the decision for themselves if they are comfortable with that or not.
As said great location, beautiful view and good access to the beach but the other things should be updated before another stay.

The town is really fun and hiking plans were made but only a few happened because this property was such a treat and a wonderful experience that it was hard to leave. Check out all the trees on the property too - they're quite magical!

We had a group of 10 family members gathering for a long weekend and this house was perfect! The location is gorgeous and we loved the easy access to the beach. The kitchen was well stocked and easy to prepare meals in. Brandi was super easy to communicate with and everything went very smoothly. Will definitely come again!

The property and house are amazing. The kids (three 17 year olds and one 14 year old) dubbed it the house with a 100 doors. There are rooms and connections everywhere. The kids loved it. Also the upstairs where they slept, was one big room with pool table and propane fireplace. So cozy and so much fun for family pool tournaments. The dining room table saw many fun games and meals. We had an a fire in the firepit two nights, and walks on the beach every day. We want to come back. We can't say enough about Brandi, I felt I asked her a million questions and she responded every time, so helpful.

This was in an area a little more secluded than we expected. The house was well -stocked with kitchen supplies and dishes/ pots and pans etc. Linens, towels, mattresses and downstairs furniture could be updated. Dining table and chairs were great for a large group. We enjoyed our stay!

I had the pleasure of staying at this property for my 3xth birthday with my husband, 3 year old daughter, and my best friend. It was more space than we needed, but we thoroughly enjoyed it! I spent much of my time in the spa bathroom, and we had a magical morning watching harbor porpoises swimming in the Hood Canal (made even better by the binoculars provided). The property had everything we needed, including thoughtful items for a 3 year old. The location is great - close to Poulsbo, but feels very remote, and with a well-kept road/driveway. Brandi was easy to communicate with, but other than when we needed her, we had complete privacy. Hope to come back someday - would be awesome for a big group!
