THE '02 & '03 UNITS HAVE 1 BEDROOM AND FACE THE OCEAN. THE '01 & '04 UNITS ARE STUDIOS FACING THE CITY. ALL OTHER UNITS ARE MOUNTAIN SIDE.
LISTED AS A "1 BEDROOM SUITE WITH A FULL KITCHEN AND PRIVATE LANAI FEATURING FULL OCEAN VIEWS" ON THE PACIFIC MONARCH WEB SITE. THIS IS NOT A "STUDIO" UNIT. COMPARE WITH OTHER TYPES OF CONDOS WITHIN THE PACIFIC MONARCH.
YOU WANT GREAT VIEWS? GREAT LOCATION? NICE PLACE TO STAY?
... WAKE UP TO BEAUTIFUL OCEAN VIEWS ... LARGE USEABLE LANAI ... GREAT LOCATION ... CLOSE TO BEACH ... CLOSE TO BUSINESSES ... BEAUTIFUL DAY AND NIGHT TIME VIEWS
My 1 Bedroom Condo is almost twice the size of the Studio Units.
Pacific Monarch: This condominium complex is located in Central Waikiki at 2427 Kuhio Ave. The cross street is Uluniu. The central location allows easy access to the beach, restaurants, stores & tourist shops. You are not located on the Canal side or at the end of Waikiki. This provides great advantages for convenient access. The building is located on the ocean side of Kuhio Ave. next to the Hyatt Regency.
The Condominium: The 1 bedroom 1 bath unit is on the 29th floor of a 33-story building. The bedroom is separated by solid walls and a door -- it is not walled off by a curtain. This is a corner unit, which faces towards the ocean. You are not located on the back (1 Bedroom) or side (Studio units) of the building. Wake up and enjoy views of the ocean and beach. The 29th floor allows unobstructed views of the city. At night the twinkling city lights are enjoyable to watch. Any room facing the ocean is also facing south and receives plenty of sunlight. Waikiki gets warm so all windows have the latest high tech tinting to reduce glare and heat (not found in many units) and the unit has air conditioning.
Amenities: The unit sleeps 4 maximum. The bedroom has 1 king size bed. The sofa has a pullout double bed. There is 1 bathroom with a shower/bath. Linens and towels are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped with a refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee maker, cooking utensils and dishes. There is Cable TV, a DVD and stereo system. All local calls are FREE.
Internet: Wifi and cable Internet access is included.
No Smoking: Smoking is not permitted.
Lanai: There is a spacious open lanai with great ocean and city views. The lanai has a table and 4 chairs. I have a real lanai that you can go out on and enjoy. Most other lanai's in Waikiki are too small to actually go out and use.
Pool/Spa: On the roof of the building is a heated pool and spa. There are magnificent views of Waikiki from the pool deck. At night the spa is a great place to relax and enjoy the night sky. The floor below has a sauna, showers, restrooms and party room with ice machine.
Parking: Parking is available for $30 per 24 hour period. A ticket machine at the garage entrance accepts Credit Card or bills from $1 to $20. The parking garage is located on floors 2 to 5 of the Pacific Monarch building. There is unlimited in and out privileges.
Laundry: A coin-operated laundry room is available on the 3rd floor.
Bus: Bus transportation is very convenient. There is a bus stop right next to the Pacific Monarch. Buses come by every few minutes and can take you to most major places on Oahu. The bus is particularly convenient for transportation to the Ala Moana Shopping Center.
Conveniences: Adjacent to or next to the Pacific Monarch are 2 Japanese restaurants, a convenience store, and 3 restaurants across the street. There is a Me's Barbecue restaurant, Hy's Steak House, the Coconut Café, Teppan Yaki restaurant and Iyasume Musubi Cafe. The Hyatt Regency is next door with its restaurants. Fast food restaurants are right around the corner (McDonald's, Burger King, KFC). Food Pantry (Grocery Store) is 2 blocks away. The Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center is 3 blocks away. Kapiolani Park is located at the end of Waikiki with its attractions including the Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, tennis courts and sports fields. A travel desk is located in the lobby for tours and local attractions.
Beach: Waikiki beach is a “very short” walk. Just walk past the Hyatt Regency and you’re there!
Compare: Compare the location of my unit within the Pacific Monarch to other advertised units. My unit has a great view and does not face into another building. I don't close the curtains on the photos that you see. Compare the location of the Pacific Monarch to others in Waikiki. The Pacific Monarch is in a very good location compared to most other condominium buildings. The walk to the beach is very short. Other buildings require a long 'city block' walk to get to the beach. Compare the conveniences of the Pacific Monarch to other condominium buildings. Restaurants & convenience stores are right there next to the Pacific Monarch.

This property is exactly what I was looking for. The view of Waikiki Beach, the city and the rain forest all in one. Completely private lanai is the best thing about this condo. I was worried that it may be a little noisy in the heartbeat of Waikiki but being 29 floors up we hardly heard anything, even with the construction of a new building next door. The streets are quite pretty early. I felt pretty safe in this area as well. Getting a hold of the property manager was easy with a prompt response. Only thing i would ask for would be an extra set of towels if you are staying for more than a week as we did. It wasn't a huge problem as there is a washer/dryer on the third floor which we utilized after the first week. They provide beach chairs, umbrellas and toys as well. This will be the only place I stay when i come back to Oahu.

Really nice space. Top view of the Waikiki beach and the ocean. Felt like a little home in Hawaii. I would totally like to stay here the next time I'm at Hawaii.

Thank you

This was our fourth time coming to the island, and I have to say, this is the best place we have stayed at. We stayed here for 9 nights and it was perfect, the last time we went to Oahu we stayed 9 nights as well but the place was smaller and some days we did feel a bit claustrophobic.
PROS:
Obviously the views! We Enjoyed watching the sunset from the lanai, it is also very spacious as pictured.
Very close to the beach, which we loved. Also there are lots of food options nearby.
Everything is as pictured, we wanted a place that had an actual room so when the kids were asleep my husband and I could still watch tv and enjoy some quiet time, this was perfect!
Also, big pro for us was the box fan there is in the condo, we are used to sleeping with a fan on at home so it blocks out all of the outside noise, we were very happy when we saw one in the closet!
Last but not least, Gary was very communicative and made himself easy to reach in case we needed something.
CONS:
This was not a deal breaker for us because we are used to paying this much for parking but I know it can be for others, parking at this building is $35/day which is a bit pricey but convenient since it is very close and it is gated.
The elevator can get pretty busy and there was a lot of maintenance being done while we were there, again, it was not a deal breaker for us but since it is a big building know that there could be maintenance being done a lot of the time.
We will definitely be staying here again

Comfortable and walking distance to the beach.

It’s hard to beat this view and this location in the hearth of Waikiki.
We love our time here.

The condo was exactly as advertised. It was clean and enoigh room for the three of us. Located downtown waikiki and was a 5 min walk to the beach with an amazing view of the ocean. It had everything we needed. The building was quiet and clean as well. Gary contacted me three days before arrival with all of the information I needed and gave me his cell number. There wasnt any hotel I could find for this price, location and amenities.

Condo is close to the beach, shopping and several restaurants. Super clean, the view from the lanai was amazing!

The location and views were outstanding.

Absolutely loved this place and we will be back. The owner was a pleasure to deal with , he was easy to communicate with, friendly and helpful. The apartment is just as the photos show, centrally located, and the views!!!!! The new beach chairs and beach towels provided well really great. Mahalo Gary!

Everything was literally amazing! The views from the room are stunning, everything was neat, organized, and clean. Additionally, the check-in and check out process was seamless. The beach is literally steps away and you can't beat having both a cityscape and beachview from the same balcony! All of that, and you cannot beat the price! The only thing I would say to be aware of is that sound from the ground level can travel up into the room where it comes through with clarity. But, that's not anything that someone could do anything to prevent. It didn't get in the way of sleep, and for me it actually added to the ambiance.

This condo was the perfect place for my husband and I to take in the sites and sounds of Honolulu. It was just about a block to Waikiki Beach, had beautiful views of the ocean and city, and was so convenient to the bus system and many restaurants! Gary, the owner, was very communicative and kept us informed of anything we needed to know, and the condo was well appointed with everything we needed. It was a great stay!

Gary’s place is quaint and old fashioned but very comfortable and handy to beach, shops, tour pIck ups at the Hyatt, restaurants, ABC shops and more.
Shower pressure is great, the bed is very comfortable, though a couple of firmer pillows would be great. The lanai is wonderful, very big with fabulous views from there as well as all the windows which face the sea.
Highly recommended.

The room was very dirty when we checked in. The fan & air conditioner were filthy. The walls in the hallway on our floor were being painted, very noisy, smelly, dusty and they had to leave our door open to paint the trim. We contacted the owner Gary Fries immediately regarding the dirt, the noise and the unsafe staying conditions. He had not informed us of the renovations in the hallway, did not get someone to come in to clean. He promised us a partial refund which we have never received.

My third time to this condo and loved it just a much as the first time. Views are great and location perfect!!

Host was on the spot with all enquiries and messages. Mahalo! Location of the condo was THE BEST. Close to absolutely everything, beach, restaurants, grocery shopping and THEBUS routes. The condo is adequately stocked with dishes and utensiles, but the lanai is the gem. Sunsets, and Friday night fireworks are a highlight.
4.9
Gary’s place is amazing. 29th floor on the corner, so views of the ocean on one side and views of the city and mountains on the other. I stayed here with my 17 year old son and we both thought it was great. Short walk to everything - especially the beach. Great neighborhood, lots of stores and restaurants. If you want to be at the center of Waikiki with a view of it all, this is the place. Gary is a great communicator, everything was perfect. Just be careful about leaving the sliding door open - there are curious pigeons in the neighborhood. Mahalo!

Gary's condo is perfect for our stay on Waikiki beach. It's 5 minutes walk from the beach. Beautiful ocean view from the living room and the balcony. The condo is super clean, supplied with everything we need. The check in/out process is seamless. Gary is a considerate host, giving us detailed info on the location, parking, restaurants and attractions nearby. It's a very enjoyable stay. We will definitely come back!

We had a great view from the 29th floor. We could watch the surfers and the ships going by. The bed was comfortable, and the place was very nice. Short walk to shops and beach. Would stay again.
4.9
Gary was very helpful with all the info that you need. Has a great view off the lanai. Condo was very clean. Walking distance to beach, shopping, and food.
4.9
Perfect location, beautiful view, lots of eateries close by, clean & tidy. Having a kitchen was helpful as we had an infant with us. Would stay here again

Seemless booking and check in. Accurate listing and excellent communication with the owner.
4.9
Perfect location close to Waikiki Beach. We enjoyed the terrace very much and did always eat there.
4.9
Room was clean and communication with owner was instant and efficient. Location was ideal. Everything we needed was within a block or two. Only a couple negatives...though it was on the 29th floor, the noise outside was quite loud. Also, though the units are non-smoking, we still smelled smoke coming in from the surrounding units. Otherwise, our stay was great. The fireworks from Hilton Hawaiian Village on Friday was even visible from the condo. Really cool.
4.9
We really enjoyed our stay here, the place has an amazing view of Waikiki Beach and it is located in the perfect spot close to everything. Two blocks to the beach! The parking is convenient in the building, typical Waikiki cost but no issue parking at all. We also enjoyed the full kitchen which allowed us so save some money on food cost. Property owner was attentive and ready to answer any questions!

Loved our stay here! Beautiful views and close to the beach! Our family can't wait to come back!

Gary was very easy to get ahold of. Loved the location. Walking distance to everything.

This property has amazing views and is very conveniently located to everything. Gary was very informative and always kept us up to date on our trip with very detailed instructions and information. I would highly recommend this condo for anyone traveling to Waikiki. Sincerely the Jones

Condo was perfect for my family of 4. Location was great and everything was as described.
Poke across the street was amazing!
Hope to come back someday!
4.9
Recent visit with family was fantastic! Gary is the reason I rated the review a 5 and not anything less. The location is perfect and the views are some of the best. The only downfall to staying at this particular location and no fault of Gary's, the hotel staff are not allowed to help. We ran into a little inconvenience when trying to have them hold bags for a few hours before our late flight home. Other than that- we'd stay again in a heartbeat.
4.9
We could not have asked for a better host. Gary was very easy to communicate with and answered our texts promptly. As to the condo itself, it was better than we imagined. Gary also left nothing to chance. His instructions and inclusions were fantastic. We could not be happier and will work with him again.
4.9
My husband and I stayed at this property for 10 nights. It was just like described and pictured. The view from the windows and the balcony were fantastic. The owner was easy to work with and very informative regarding Hawaii policy and building expectations. It was a very easy and short walk to the beach, shops, restaurants, pretty much all things Waikiki. We would recommend this place to others and we would stay here again.

Really great location, and enjoyed our stay!

We picked the property for the patio & it did not disappoint. Views of the ocean & sunset from one side. Straight ahead was all the lights & cityscape of Waikiki. Opposite the sea was a view of the mountains, the Alawai Canal & golf course beyond. Simply lovely! Accommodations were clean, bed and pillows were very comfortable. The wi-fi worked and we enjoyed the pool area. It’s definitely not quiet due to the hustle & bustle of the city (plus one rooster!) but we did enjoy the evening sounds of the . Noise could have been controlled by closing the sliding doors & using the AC, but we preferred the fresh air. Next time I’ll bring my own shampoo, conditioner & wash cloth. Other than that we had everything we needed!
4.9
Just 2 blocks from Waikiki Beach. Our second stay at the Pacific Monarch in an ocean view room with large lanai. Nicely appointed with everything a person needs. Close to restaurants/bars with live music and close to surfboard and car rentals.
4.9
No frills stay, easy communication, very personable host. Great price, first time for me using vrbo, and happy with our stay. Only 4 pillows so if you are 4, consider bringing extra because no extra were provided. We had a fabulous stay nonetheless. I would recommend some cleaning cloths and a dish towel, but ample paper towels were provided. If cooking, bring all food items even salt, pepper, oil etc, and toiletries as none are provided but a bar of soap and dish liquid. I left ice packs and butter hopefully that stays for the next guest and is helpful. If you like views this place has it.
4.9
It was a great vacation for my family. The location is excellent, the room was clean, the owner is always in touch. Spectacular ocean view in the morning and during the day, and mountain view in the night.
