This large vacation house is situated at the edge of the El Yunque National Rainforest on 6+ acres of tropical rainforest jungle. Private gated access, on a small mountain just 1 mile from PR3. Large private patio and 10x20' salt water swimming pool constructed on the mountainside. THE POOL IS ONLY FOR GUESTS OF RENTAL HOUSE. NOT SHARED WITH ANYONE ELSE.
This is not a cramped condo or apartment with many neighbors. You will be in a safe mountainside tropical jungle setting, in a large concrete house, with plenty of room to explore and enjoy!
The property is close to El Yunque National Forest, Luquillo (Monserrate) Beach and kiosks, Carabali Rainforest Park, Hacienda Siesta Allegre, and just 20 expressway miles from San Juan. The ferry terminal to Culebra & Vieques is 23 miles.
Bedrooms: NO BUNK BEDS!
King bed in master suite with walk-in closet and separate bathroom with large shower. The second bedroom offers a comfortable queen, a futon, and twin mattress for a variety of sleeping options. A queen bed is in the third bedroom. Second Bathroom is at end of hallway, near bedrooms 2 and 3.
Two Pack N Plays are available for traveling babies, along with a kiddie pool, and high chair.
The couch in living room contains a queen bed.
Linens, pillows, and towels (including beach towels) are provided.
The house has accommodated many gatherings with friends and family sharing in the food preparation in the open kitchen with large island, with many guests gravitating to the large patio, or the open two stall garage in rainy weather.
Open floor plan and spacious rooms are located on one level, making it easy for elderly or toddlers to get around. No steps! Pool just off the patio has an iron security gate.
If you want to stay where you have all the amenities of home yet are near many attractions the island has to offer, reserve this home!

My wife and I with our 5 kids stayed here and it amazing. House was clean and comfortable. The view and location was breathtaking and peaceful and gives you the full rainforest experience. Would absolutely choose this place again.

This house, location, and the hosts were absolutely perfect! We were within driving distance to everything from Old San Juan, Beaches, rainforest, restaurants, Ralph’s grocery- and after long days out we came back to the most peaceful, stunning property with a great pool. The house is clean- and I’m very picky about that, in fact I spent hours upon hours looking for a place to stay before choosing this one- stocked with everything you need for cooking or grilling, beds were so comfortable, always had water and electricity. Hector was very helpful, and our teens loved his dogs. Kim was easily reachable via text, check-in was seamless and she sent everything we needed to know ahead of time. This was such an amazing trip and this VRBO made it so much better. We will definitely be back.

Easy to find, but the roads are steep at times. Communication was a breeze with Kim, who responded to texts promptly. Having an app to open the gate up on arrival made it very smooth, and a code for the door as well -- no keys to keep track of. Privacy was not an issue, the whole floor was for our use, as well as the pool, even though Hector was on the floor above and close by if we needed him. I LOVED the foliage and wildlife we found when exploring. Thank you for the perfect stay!

Exactky what I was looking for. Quiet home in the mounatains with outstanding views in the rain forest. Conveniently located to El Yunque, Fajardo, Luquillo and groceries/dining.
The cleanliness of property is top notch. Home is well equiped for cooking and entertaining. The poll is great for a dip at the end of the day. I cant say enough about the large variety of plants and trees.
The Host, Hector lives upstairs and is wonderful man. He treated us like family. The Tesla power back up system kept us up and running during power outage. Onsite water storage was used when the water went out. Power and water interruptions are common in Puert Rico, but wont bother you a bit at this house.
His Dogs that live with him are the best, especially Daisy. If your missing your dogs while on your trip you will have opportunity to get some dog time in. Not hard to find once you receive the pin drop for google maps.
I will definitely be back for a visit.

Safe and comfortable home in a beautiful location. Close enough to beaches, rainforest, grocery stores, food, and natural attractions to make it convenient, but just far enough out to make it a wonderful refuge to escape to at the end of the day. The property is lovely and very well maintained and the hosts are attentive and very easy to communicate with. The salt water pool was divine. If we were traveling to this area again, we would 100% come back to this home.

We had 5 adult family members and the house had everything for all of us. Hector was helpful, pleasant and so knowledgeable about the area. Although he lived upstairs we never felt like he was intruding in any way.
The property was absolutely beautiful. The driveway is pretty steep but navigable easily as it is full concrete. If you love watching rainstorms this is the best view to see them. Hector has 3 little doggies that would come out to say good morning every day but didn’t hang out. They were the sweetest pups. The house was exactly as described and we were happy we chose it.

We had a fantastic time staying at Hector's property. It is probably the best equipped vacation home we have stayed at. The drawers and cabinets are labeled so you can find whatever you need with ease. The property is gorgeous and guests are provided with an immense amount of recommendations for things to do, restaurants, etc. Nice large living accommodations and Hector and his furry friends could not have been sweeter. We definitely hope to visit again. We will be recommending this property to anyone we know who plans to visit Puerto Rico.

House is great. Many details and accessories in kitchen, and bedrooms as well as for going to the beach. Hector was there to help for any issues we had. The pool is great and the view is fascinating. The best thing about the house is the driveway, full of beautiful trees. On the down side: Main bed was not super confortable, too soft. Also, the internet system to open and close the gate was pretty cool but it was a problem for us, since non-wifi internet was an issue being foreigners. Overall, it was a great experience and we recommend the house.

We loved driving into the property, it felt like the entrance to a luxury resort. The garden along the driveway is lush with beautiful tropical plants. The highlight of staying here though was being greeted the first day (and every day after) by the furry welcoming committee. Hector’s dogs and cats were so excited to see us each day. We loved visiting with them. The home is very comfortable after days of exploring the area and great just to hang out by the pool or sit outside at night and listen to the frog sounds. It was great to have beach towels and beach chairs to take to the local beaches. A visit to Old San Juan was beautiful and historic but it was so nice to return to this quiet oasis in the hills. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and appreciated the handful of staples such as cooking oil, some spices and foil and plastic wrap. We loved hearing the rainforest creatures at night especially before or after it rains. You truly feel like you’re in the jungle. Saw hummingbirds, red tailed hawks, bananaquits and the coolest - the tree snails. They were huge! Look for them at night by the garden near the parking areas. Hector is the perfect host, kind and generous. Thank you for such a wonderful trip!

We took our 3 adult kids and daughter-in-law to PR for vacation. They never visited PR.
Well, from the moment we walked into this home, we fell in love. It smelled so good. It was clean, and very spacious. We felt right at home.
The pool was clean and water was nice and clear.
We enjoyed sitting outside looking at the rainforest and listening to all the beautiful sounds of coquis
and birds.
The owners are very friendly and accommodating. They answered all our questions in a timely order before and during the trip.
We also fell in love with Kimberly's glass art.
We all bought a piece from her.
We would love to rent this home again if we ever go back to PR.

Host Hector was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Loved the beautiful rainforest setting. The dogs and cats on the property made it feel like home. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay even though the weather wasn’t the greatest at the time we were there. Will probably be returning at a different time of year when Hector suggested the weather is usually better.

Our group consisted of two generations of cousins for an amazing ladies trip! Cannot say enough about the beauty of this property! The owner was immediately responsive to any questions we had. The pictures do not do it justice. The view off the back patio is a beautiful 180 ° view of the lush jungle/mountain terrain. The accommodations were wonderful. Spacious bedrooms and plenty of areas to commune together indoors or outside on the covered patio. Everything we needed was already provided in the kitchen. Local grocery stores are a few minutes away. We are so glad we did not choose to stay at one of the busy beach condos. Being able to return every evening from our explorations to this amazing secluded oasis was such a blessing! Sounds of exotic birds and the occasional coqui frog were a delight. Honestly we did not want to leave and will return there again.

I cannot recommend this home more. Before we came there was very clear communication and detailed instructions for how to get to the home. When we arrived, Hector was home, and came down to show us the ins and outs of the home. My kids, 9,6, and 4, immediately jumped in the pool and swam at least twice each day. My husband had to work form the house, and the internet was perfect for telecommuting. Each room has a smart TV and personal AC. The kitchen had tons of spices, oils, coffee, sugar, anything basic you need. The location was ideal for us because we wanted to explore El Yunque and the north eastern beaches. Five stars all the way!

We had a fantastic stay at La Lomita! This was our first visit to Puerto Rico and we are grateful we had the opportunity to stay at this property. The location is ideal, close to beaches, el Yunque, and grocery stores and restaurants, yet in a peaceful and secluded natural setting. Kim and Hector were incredibly kind and helpful hosts.
The outdoor living area was our favorite part of the house, with amazing views of the mountains and ocean, surrounded by lush tropical plants. The pool was perfect for our kids! They also enjoyed hanging out with the hosts' adorable and friendly dog Daisy!
We cooked many meals in the spacious kitchen and outside on the grill. The house had more than enough room for our family of 4 with a great layout. We enjoyed Kim's beautiful and creative sea glass art throughout the house.
We hope to return next year - thank you Kim and Hector for an amazing stay!

Kim and Hector were the most kind and gracious hosts. This was our first time in this area and they made sure we had everything we needed and Kim answered my millions of questions. La Lomita was beautiful and very clean and comfortable for our family. It is located close to many things and easy access to Luquillo beach where we spent most of our time. We cannot thank you enough for all of your help and for sharing your home with us!

Beautiful modern home tucked away on its own piece of the El Yunque Rainforest! Home is impressively self sufficient with full solar array on the roof and water reclamation system. comes stocked with everything you could possibly need on your stay including washer/dryer, swimming pool with sweeping views of the valley, pool toys, bath products, coffee, everything! The hosts Kim and Hector are wonderful people that went out of their way to ensure our stay was as memorable as possible, and even detailed all the dining, attractions, and entertainment in the area for us! Came here with my Wife and three daughters and out of all the Vrbo locations we stayed at during our trip to Puerto Rico this one was by far our favorite! Thanks for an awesome stay and we hope to return soon!

We had an amazing time at La Lomita. Kim and Hector are incredible hosts. The home was perfect for our family of 7 adults! The kitchen is large and very well equipped. The family room is air conditioned, but you could also open the doors and enjoy the family room as an indoor outdoor space to take advantage of the incredible views of the mountains. The bathrooms were spacious and had everything you could need. The fact they have washer and drier was very convenient to wash our wet towels and swim suits after a day at the beach. We always stay in Condado area, but staying at La Lomita is close to Condado (30 minutes at the most), but also close to Fajardo and the beautiful beaches on the east of the island or the El Yunque Rainforest. You would think you are in a rainforest when you take a walk around the property - Hector has a lot of beautiful plants and fruit trees that are even labeled!! We cant wait to go back to La Lomita and to see our hosts Hector and Kim!

If you are up for staying at a house that is somewhat remote but located in a beautiful setting then this place is perfect. My family and I stayed here for several days after renting a property at the Rio Mar resort. It was really a great change of pace to be located so close to the rainforest. All of the fruit and palm trees surrounding the house make it feel like you are staying in a tree house located in the rain forest. But this place has a swimming pool as an added bonus! Kim the manager was very responsive. Overall great place.

La Lomita was the perfect place for our family vacation on the eastern side of Puerto Rico. It felt remote yet was easy to get to places - beaches, El Yunque, San Juan, etc. Hector and Kim were sweet hosts - we didn't see them much yet they responded quickly to any questions we had. The pool was a wonderful treat both day and night. And to top off the experience was the magical sounds of the rainforest!

We loved this property so much that we came for a second time (our first visit was in 2019). Hector and Kim are the most gracious hosts, who we now consider friends. The gardens and grounds are impeccably kept with a wide and wonderful array of blooming and fruiting foliage. We walked the long path to the gate several times daily and found something new or awesome. The house was clean and comfortable, with enough room for our family of six. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and eating on the patio, which has a stunning view of the surrounding rainforest jungle. The pool (added since our first visit) was a fun addition and enjoyed by all.
La Lomita was close enough to everywhere we wanted to be and far enough from the hustle and bustle of the city. Our stay was fabulous, and we highly recommend this property. Thanks again, Kim and Hector!

Really enjoyed our stay at La Lomita. House is well appointed and great amenities. Pool was just wonderful for the kids and the view was spectacular. Kim was so great and gave us some really good recommendations. Hector takes great pride in keeping the house and property in tip top order. Hosts little dogs hanging around was a lovely bonus. My little one kept asking when we’d be back to visit. I hope soon!!

We cannot say enough about our stay at La Lomita. The home itself, the property, the location and of course the hosts all made this a truly wonderful stay for our family. The rental unit was clean and comfortable and nicely decorated. This includes the outdoor pool and patio area where we spent a lot of time. The property is incredible, well-maintained, and fully of vegetation, flowers and fruit growth throughout. Hector even harvested us fresh coconuts one morning that we all enjoyed! Close to SJU and Luquillo, it is in a great location while still off of the main roads. Hector and Kim could not have been kinder hosts and went out of their way to make our stay special. We will absolutely be returning!
