Nice place close to lots of things!
Suggestions would be to have a sheet with what to do with TV’s.

This place was close to Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse. We were one block from the quaint town of Custer . Awesome few days!

The place is very clean and we enjoyed our stay. The only problem is that it is listed for 8 people and there is only space for 6!! Very disappointing. One of our group had to sleep in the floor.

There is no AC! We arrived after 15 hours of traveling. Very tired and hot. Home was 83 degrees downstairs and 90 upstairs.
We could not get it to cool down. I tried calling the phone number for the host twice and messaged them 3 times. Got no response. It was so hot that we left and found a hotel.
She finally got back with me the next morning. She apologized and offered to put a window unit in, but that was too late.
I asked about a refund, even if it was partial and I still haven’t heard anything from her.
Her description doesn’t state there is AC. But it does not say there isn’t one. I understand it is cold most of the time in SD but if you rent you should have AC.
This is my first ever bad review on VRBO.

Nice location. Beds very comfortable. Things that would have made it better. Lamps for reading in the bedrooms. There was only the overhead light and ceilings are tilted. Made it difficult to move around. Was surprised there was a coffee maker but no coffee offered. Overall nice location for day trips.

Great place to stay to see all areas of the Black Hills! Super clean! Very comfortable and very spacious. Central location and easy drive to everything. We spent the weekend and where able to visit Crazy horse, jewel cave, Mount Rushmore and Rapid city with a stop in Hill top too. We also enjoyed the local restaurants in Custer! Quiet, thoughtful and comfortable home for the weekend!

This was perfect for our family of four. They have pretty much anything you could need to feel completely at home. We so enjoyed coming back to our mountain home after enjoying all of our vacation activities. The hosts are also very attentive, especially if you have any questions.

The property was very comfortable. The steps were a problem for my wife because they are steep and she has an artificial knee.

Great central location. Stayed for 3rd Annual Mickelson Trail Trek. Very clean. Hosts were very accommodating. One suggestion: might consider putting some WD40 on bedroom door hinges for early risers. Wonderful stay.

Custer is a perfect location to base out of for travel in the Black Hills area. From Mt Rushmore to caves, to mammoth site, to buffalo herds, it's all within easy driving distance. Plus it's home to some delicious restaurants and several large sculpture buffalo.
Shelly and Steve were so friendly and welcoming. They checked in to make sure we had everything upon our arrival, brought a case of water, gave us delicious suggestions for meals (the Bugling Bull and Custer Wolf in particular) and helpful ideas for sightseeing--the kind of people you'd pick to be friends with.
The house was perfect for us--Two comfortable bedrooms, two full baths, a well stocked kitchen, extremely clean and easy walking distance (2 blocks) to downtown Custer. The large comfortable sofas and big screen tv were a plus for the teenagers. It was our first experience with VRBO and Shelly, Steve and their house made it a memorable one for us!

The home on Karney Street is clean and roomy.
It works well for a party of four or perhaps six.. The kitchen and dining area are spacious and work well for dining in. The location is wonderful, a few blocks from the main street of shops, restaurants, bakery, and an amazing rock shop. The neighbors were friendly and helpful with area directions. Parking is great. Quiet and relaxing.

The home is extremely clean! Not only that but all the extra linen was nicely organized and available to us. Internet was reliable. Easily walked to the downtown and back every single day! Kitchen had the minimum necessary items for cooking. We left a few staples behind to add to the mix ;) you will most certainly enjoy staying at this very lovely home.
