About this house rental
Mountain vistas, open landscape, spacious and elegant interior…plus, only a short walk to the town center, The Plaza.
Located just two blocks behind Ft. Marcy Park in a private setting with incredible, unobstructed views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Casa Altamira is just a 15-minute walk to the famed Santa Fe Plaza. From here you are ready to explore “The City Different” with the mingling of Native American, Anglo, and Hispanic cultures. Shopping, galleries, museums, and restaurants abound.
Whether you are two or more, you will enjoy this pleasant and open three-bedroom, two-bath home decorated in popular Southwestern colors which complement the furniture, art, and architecture.
The living area and two bedrooms are on the main living level. Magnificent views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains can be seen from the living room, dining room, kitchen, and 2nd bedroom. The deck off the living/dining room gives you more unobstructed mountain views. From here you can enjoy the dry and sunny Santa Fe climate while sipping your morning coffee or afternoon Margarita!
The living room has a large flat-screen TV, a wood-burning kiva fireplace and a leather sofa and recliner. It is lined with bookcases full of books for your reading enjoyment. The open floor plan creates a large living space, with the dining room (seats six) adjoining the living room.
Cooking in the fully equipped kitchen with gas stove will be a delight. You have a mountain view from the kitchen window! There is also a dinette table with easy kitchen access.
There are two bedrooms on this main floor that share a full hall bath. The queen bedroom has its own private patio (also with mountain views) and small TV. The other bedroom has two twin beds.
Up a half flight of stairs is the king master suite, again with mountain views of the Sangre de Cristos, but also having a deck with southern views of the Sandia Mountains, a lovely place to watch the sunsets! This room also has a flat screen TV, as well as a large desk set up as an office area. The bath has two sinks and a beautifully tiled shower.
Full size washer/dryer and air conditioning are house amenities.
Of course, all linens, cable TV, and fast WIFI (100 mbps download) are included, as well as a gas barbeque.
NOTE: There is only ONE space available in the garage, but additional parking is provided in the driveway for several cars.
This house is attached on one side to another home, but constructed with very thick walls. It is on a generous size lot. It is private. There are no homes situated to look in your windows or see you on the deck….yet, you are just a few minutes’ walk to the energy of the Plaza. DeVargas shopping plaza is also nearby. The closeness of Ft. Marcy Park has added benefits. There is an open area for dog-walking. (We welcome your dog, however NO CATS, please.) There are pickle ball courts, and the Ft. Marcy Community Center has an Olympic size pool, exercise equipment, and classes (yoga, Pilates), all for an extremely reasonable price.
Destino Santa Fe is a cooperative, private group of homeowners and we are proud to represent Casa Altamira.

We really enjoyed our stay. Very cozy place. Just close enough to town and just the right amount of nature. We had everything we needed.

We loved our stay at Casa Altamira. The house is very well organized and very well appointed. The beds are all very comfortable and the kitchen is complete with everything you need for a comfortable visit. We had our Christmas there and our adult children loved the house as well. We would absolutely love to come stay again!

Family meets yearly in Santa Fe - Murillo-generations coming from 3 states. This home was comfortable, well equipped and perfect location. We had an issue with AC. Andres and Sue were on top of it and super responsive. Thank you!

We’ll located, nice view from the deck. The Heat Dome made it hot even in Santa Fe; had to turn the A/C way down to keep the downstairs bedrooms cool for sleeping. Not a problem, just fyi.

Overall, the house was comfortable, a little dated with good Mountain Views. Very comfortable bed in master, excellent shower and bath setup!
Lacking accessible- friendly handrails on the stairs and safety bars in the shower.

House is great! Has everything you might need, super comfortable! Views and natural light are awesome! Neighborhood is quiet and very close to downtown. Highly recommend it as your place to stay in Santa Fe!

Great location relative to Sante Fe Plaze and sights. Large property.

The house was large and spread out enough for five of us, including an active 3.5 year old, The location is super-quiet pretty much all day, and provides easy walking access to the Plaza area of Santa Fe...which was delightful at Christmas time. Sue Kimberly, the property manager, was very responsive to our inquiries.

Great location and home
Clean and quiet. Such a wonderful sanctuary during a time of chaos in our lives. She was very kind and accommodating. Couldn’t have asked for more!

Perfect Santa Fe House
The views from the windows were so gorgeous you didn’t want to leave the house. The house is high up enough to show changing views of the mountains surrounding it which was magical. It has everything you could possibly need and more. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and everything worked. It was immaculately clean all over. We even used the garage which was a nice added feature. It was beautifully decorated in the SouthWestern style which is shown in the accurate pictures. Sue was a charm, great to help with anything and quick to respond. We were living in luxury, for sure. Our only problem was it was hard for us Southerners to adjust to the dry and high desert climate which is Santa Fe. The art there is worth every minute of your stay. They have fantastic restaurants there, too.

The Right Place
We can highly recommend Casa Altamira. The house is not large but the open concept makes the living area feel spacious and is comfortable for two couples, or one couple and kids. The living room has a working fireplace, the master suite is large and private, and the kitchen is small but well-designed and contains all the equipment necessary for serious cooking. The location is great. In particular, the plaza is 20 to 25 minutes and Fort Marcy Park is a mere five minutes away by foot. In addition, the surroundings are quiet. All in all, we were very comfortable, and so were our guests. Our only criticism is that the entertainment system was a challenge to operate given its numerous remote controls.
The house and its location are also great for dogs. There is a small fenced area next to the house where dogs can relieve themselves, and Fort Marcy Park is a good place to walk dogs and has a large grassy area where one can play ball (dogs are supposed to be leashed, albeit the rule seems to be flexible). There is also the Frank Ortiz Dog Park, a tract of a 100 acres or so where dogs can be off-leach and play with each other. The park is a 10 minute drive from Casa Altamira.

Lovely home in great location
This home away from home is in a great location with easy access to the Dale Ball Trails and walking distance to the Plaza. It is well equipped and very clean and comfortable. The views of morning sunrises over the mountains are breathtaking. We’re looking forward to returning next year!

Great Place
Fantastic stay in Santa Fe. Property was excellent. The house was in great shape; very clean and ready for our stay! We stayed with our two children and a dog. Nice little outside, enclosed area for the dog. Great deck with sun in the morning. Fireplace was perfect for the evenings. Location is very close to downtown Santa Fe. Would definitely stay here again!

Great stay!
We really enjoyed this property. Check-in was easy and there was a binder with a lot of good information about the property as well as good information about Santa Fe. Very helpful.
Good location. It was close to nice Santa Fe shopping and gallery areas.
The view was great and we enjoyed several amazing sun rises.
Highly recommend!

Great location, well-maintained and appointed, nice floor plan, beautiful views
This beautiful property worked well for our family of five. There were many places to congregate, the kitchen was well stocked, and the space was beautiful and included everything we could imagine. The views, patios, and numerous windows drew the outdoors in. It was a great place to stay while enjoying all that Santa Fe has to offer.

Love at first sight!
We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful house. There were five of us and we had so much room. The house had everything you could possibly need plus. The patio areas were wonderful. Very short drive or walk into old town Santa Fe. Only one hour drive to Albuquerque....Balloon Festival was going on. We enjoyed the house so much, we will definitely be back.

Wondrous and nurturing
The house was spotless, spacious and lovingly decorated. The kitchen had absolutely everything to cook wonderful meals, and the enormous deck at night was a gift--the stars were amazing. Gorgeous views from every window, a close walk to the Plaza, a quick car ride to all conveniences ... if the hosts let us, we want to move in!!!! Do book this, it was a totally wonderful experience from beginning to end ...

Perfect house for our stay in Santa Fe!
This was our second stay in Casa Altamira and just perfect. We were close to a beautiful park for walking our dogs and there is also a work out center with gym and indoor pool. The views from the house are beautiful -we had wine on the patio. This house is the best stocked of any we have stayed in. You don’t need to purchase anything but your food. Location is super. We walked to the plaza and the park. Close to major streets making it easy to get around. Also close to grocery stores and restaurants. We stayed a month and enjoyed every minute.

Comfortable, Well-Appointed, Great Location/Views
Casa Altamira is a very comfortable home that has all the amenities needed for an enjoyable and relaxing stay. Though we spent the majority of our week-long visit to Santa Fe out-and-about, exploring the region, at the end of each day, our party of 6 really enjoyed coming back to this home to unwind and relax.
The home had plenty of room for everyone to have their own space and not feel crowded, yet when we wanted to spend time together, the house is set up in such a way that makes it easy to congregate (at dinner, in front of the fire, or out on the expansive deck where you can take in mountain views or stargaze at night).
The home is well-equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay - all you need to cook including extra spices, condiments, etc; plenty of books, games and videos; plenty of bedding; lots of firewood; and way too many tvs ... get outside and explore :). The host is quick to respond to any inquiries and is proactive in communicating critical information.
The location is fantastic. It's about a 10-15 minute walk into the heart of Santa Fe, so close you don't have to deal with parking, but just enough outside that you're not consumed in all the busy in-town traffic. It's also a great launching pad for excursions into Taos, Ski Santa Fe, Bandelier and any other points north or east as you don't have to traverse greater Santa Fe.
If/when we return to Santa Fe, we'll look to rebook Casa Altamira!

Beautiful Property!
This is a beautiful home in a very unique setting that offers a quiet location, beautiful views and yet only an easy 20 minute walk right to the middle of Santa Fe - all at the same time! You can even drive to a lage ski resort in 40 minutes! The house is beautifully decorated and we found the furniture, beds and couches very comfortable. Lots of places to walk and close to shops, parks and resturants. We highly recommend this location!

Holiday Delight
Our family just spent Christmas week at Casa Altamira. It was just perfect for everything we did from cooking holiday meals, relaxing by the fire, skiing and sledding on the nearby ski mountain, playing in the park a block away, or enjoying the activities in the Plaza. It even snowed on Christmas Eve. The views out all the windows were breathtaking. Casa Altamira is beautifully designed and decorated and provided plenty of space for grandchildren to play and adults to visit. Everyone left saying this was the best family vacation ever. We look forward to returning.

Serenity Now
Casa Altamira was a delightful place to stay while exploring the 'city different.' We rented for 10 days and hosted a few guests along the way. The condo is spacious, comfortable and well out-fitted. The deck was a delightful place to relax and enjoy the mountain views; we even saw a double rainbow the first day we checked -in. The condo is well-situated, within walking distance of the Plaza and museums, but feels private and quiet in a community off the main roads. The rental transaction was easy and straightforward; we had no issues to be resolved during our stay. We highly recommend this property and will stay here again if our path brings us back to Santa Fe.

New Mexico Winter
We enjoyed a lovely home to spend a month in the culturally diverse capital of New Mexico. Any issues were quickly resolved and always pleasantly. The walks to the plaza were downhill. The furnishings and artwork were appropriate for the southwest and tasteful. We exchanged a 65 degree morning for a 104" snow base ski adventure in 30 minutes. This was a reasonable decision which we thoroughly enjoyed and have no regrets.

Great place to stay in Santa Fe
We already rented this property twice and were not disappointed. Great location within walking distance from the central plaza, yet quiet and away from it all. We like to go self-catering, and the house has all the amenities we could need. Great terrace with sufficient privacy.

Great house for family stay!
Stayed at Casa Altamira for 4 nights in June. House is pristine, modern, and feels spacious for a family of 5. Two of the bedrooms have private decks or patios. We chose not to walk to the plaza, but Santa Fe driving and parking are very easy. Sue was great to work with! We would definitely stay here again next time we are in Santa Fe.

Santa Fe Stay
We had a great stay in Santa Fe at Casa Altamira. This property exceeded our expectations. It was well furnished, very spacious, and well maintained. The views were nice and we enjoyed eating dinner on the deck. The location was very convenient-it was an easy walk to the Plaza. The pictures and description in the listing are accurate. The property manager was helpful, responsive, and friendly. I highly recommend this property.

Escaping the Northeast Winter
I rented Casa Altamira for a month to escape the long, cold Northeast Winter. It was perfect! It was a very comfortable property both alone and with guests joining me. Location was very convenient with easy on and off the highways as well as being able to walk to the Plaza. We found we were going back early in the afternoon to sit on the deck to enjoy the sunshine and views. Everyone that hears about it wonders if I will go back-they want to schedule a visit!
