The property has everything needed for a comfortable stay.
The steep road and driveway required 4wd but the view was worth it.

If you're looking for a quiet place to stay outside of all the touristy "hubbub" then this is definitely the place to stay. Very quiet neighborhood with friendly next door neighbors. It is a bit of a drive from the main shopping centers so our first stop was COSTCO to load up on groceries at the best price. We spent most of our time visiting Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and local beaches. We felt this vacation home was perfectly placed with those destinations in mind. The owners have truly gone above and beyond with providing so many extras you would not typically have with other rental properties. The kitchen is exceptionally well stocked with every cooking appliance you can think of which our family appreciated. There were also boogie boards, various sizes of snorkel gear and fold up lawn chairs that have shoulder straps...perfect for carrying down to the beaches. We enjoyed the amazing ocean views every morning drinking our coffee and found ourselves hurrying back home every evening to catch the sunsets.
My only caution is if you are renting a car....don't try parking at the top of the driveway or you will likely drag bottom like we did. Instead park at the bottom by the water tank. There is plenty of room there and it is just a few steps to the front door. If you rent a Jeep then go ahead and park at the top.
Our thanks to the owners of this cute little home for sharing it with our family!

Our stay was magical! The lanai overlooking the beautiful property and ocean view was spectacular. Snorkeling at the neighborhood black sand beach was not very crowded and so peaceful. We were 45 minutes from Kailua-Kona but totally worth the scenic drive. We’ve already recommended this property to friends who asked for booking details!
4.8
This was one of the cutest, most comfortable homes we have ever rented. It was thoughtfully stocked with every thing you could possibly need. The Lanai has the most beautiful view. We have been coming to Kona Paradise for about 15 years and this was one of our most enjoyable stays.
4.8
The pictures don’t do the house justice! It’s got a killer view and you get used to the kind of scary hill coming down. Not scary after the first day.. it has everything you need and then some! Perfect stamp in our honeymoon ❤️

Title really says it all! It was a gorgeous home with absolutely amazing views! We had a great experience working with the property owner and even had great interactions with those we met in the neighborhood. Only recommendation for those coming to stay is if you get a rental car get something that doesn't sit to low as the drive is indeed very steep but worth the views.

Tropical paradise with an ocean view! We love this home, the deck with view of the ocean was amazing. The inside of the house was adorable and comfortable and there were personal touches that made it feel like someone really thought about what guest would need. The driveway is very steep and narrow, but you can always park at the bottom and walk up. The plants and palms surrounding the home are gorgeous. The walk down to the ocean (another very steep hill) was intoxicating with the scent of plumeria. The black pebble beach is really nice for swimming if the surf is small. I miss the chirping of the tree frogs at night!

Lovely property with an incredible sunset view. Great communication and super amenities. Lots of added extras to make your stay even more special.
Don’t be put off by the mention of steep hills. Easily negotiated with any vehicle in low gear. I parked by the water tank only 20 yards from the front door.
Don’t miss out on this fantastic quiet place.

The home was very clean. The owner was easy to work with. The view was awesome. We spent most of our time on the lanai. Tons of Geckos and nice landscaping.
The home could use air conditioning. There were a few days that were pretty uncomfortable as it was too warm in the house. The driveway is SUPER steep. The home is about 45-50 mins from Kona. It is a bit of drive, but we didn't mind it. If the house had air conditioning, I would definitely stay here again.
4.8
Wonderful house. Very comfortable with a fantastic view. Private beach at bottom of the road (5 minute drive). Neighborhood is friendly. Town is 45 minutes and grocery store is 25 minutes, so do spend some time in the car. But love being here.

Overall my husband and I really liked this “little piece of paradise” the only draw backs were; it’s a VERY steep grade to get here. We of course had a rental jeep and we could not figure out how to shift into lower gears…
Also no walking down to the local black pebble beach, like I said it’s very very steep.
I really enjoyed sitting out on the lanai at sunset, the best views! But I also felt very exposed to the neighbor on the one side as I know he was out on his lanai and could see right down onto where we were… also the mosquitoes were very bad. I appreciated the citronella candles and torches I believe they helped a bit but in the end we had to spray ourselves down with repellent. This property is a great place to stay and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The binder with ideas on places to visit and how to get there worked out great!

Property was wonderful, comfortable and the views are top-notch! Terri, the host, was a breeze to deal with and very communicative. We were used to the steep hills up and down to the house from years on the USVI, so no problems there. The neighbors are very nice and the area safe and quiet. I would stay here again and again for the sunsets alone. If you book, you will not be disappointed. Mahalo!

House is nicely equipped and quite comfortable. The decor is lovely. Proximity to 2-step beach is also very convenient for snorkeling along with many other destinations. Would recommend this piece of Paradise to others.

We have been to the Big Island several times and this has been one our favorite because of the spectacular view and altitude. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved the neighborhood and location in south Kona. We come from a small town near San Francisco so we adapted well to the long drives away from the towns and the steep roads were pretty similar to ones we’re used to. Our first day there we witnessed a mother and baby whale frolicking close to shore on Pebbles Beach. It rained hard the next day and we were content to stay at home, listening to the Hawaiian music and watching the ocean from the lanai. We tried to hit up all of the road stands around the area-avocados, shaved ice, baked goods, freshly caught fish and an abundance of fruit. The farmers markets are fun too, lots of local foods and crafts and friendly people. For snorkeling or sunny beach days we drove north, Pebbles Beach was way too scary to attempt though we did see people in the water. Every evening we made it home to enjoy the amazing sunset on the lanai. Mosquito repellent was provided, sometimes they were worst than others depending on the rain. It was fun to hear the abundance of birds in the day switch to the call of the croquites at sundown. The smart tv was nice to have. There were lots of dvds too but we weren’t sure how to use the dvd player/remote. Everything in the kitchen was well stocked, I love to cook and there was nothing lacking to cook big dinners. Lots of games, puzzles, music, books and beach gear for us to use. We felt very well taken care of by Terri Lin, she was always a text away and made sure we had what we needed. The one thing I would recommend would be to update the house binder with more up to date info, and not sure about recommending the local beach, Pebbles Beach as a swim spot, especially for kids. There are lots of safer swim areas not too far away. The house is close to the neighbors, which we actually really enjoyed, they’re super friendly and it made us feel right at home and safe knowing we’re around friendly neighbors. The house was definitely one of the best parts about our vacation!

Everything about this stay was phenomenal. The beds were a perfect amount of soft and firm. I loved that they had all of the toiletries. Towels. Coffee maker and even an espresso maker. I forgot many bathroom items like q-tips and body wash, shampoo, conditioner.. they had it alllll. We are from Michigan and the time change was actually extremely beneficial for us as we went to bed early and woke up early. We had beautiful sunsets!! Tons of lizards everywhere, be careful with the shells in the corner, there might be a momma and her eggs in there! There were also fruits growing outside along with many flowers. They provided a washer and dryer as well and an outdoor shower! We never used the outdoor shower, but nice to know there were two. I will say, the hot water runs out fairly quickly so space your showers out. Also, they did have little notes around to conserve water, so we made sure we didn’t take too many showers either. They had a full itinerary available but we decided to go about our own way:
We visited many beaches for snorkeling. Two step and Queens bath was our favorite for swimming. Pebble beach was cool too and had many many rocks to climb on (at your own risk). We visited the volcanos- highly recommend! We visited the caves in Hilo - highly recommend! The waterfalls in Hilo were a trip too! We had breakfast at the coffee shop and a smaller one just before it that was even more satisfying but forgive me for forgetting the name. night manta ray swim- the best!

Location is a little out of the way but that's what we wanted. We put 1000 miles on the rental car in a week so make sure you get a car with plenty of allowed mileage and good miles per gallon.
The property is nice. Really quiet and private. Great view, comfortable beds, and well equipped.
Managers were quick to respond to questions and fix an issue with the drier. Would reccomend staying here to friends and family.

This home has a stunning view from the lanai. The 2 bedrooms are roomy and have comfortable, supportive mattresses. We thoroughly enjoyed Pebble Beach at the bottom of the subdivision. The home is on a catchment system but the owners provided bottled water for drinking which was a very nice extra. The house was decorated and coordinated with furniture and the all the trappings. As such, all the pillows, drapes, etc were all slightly musty even when we opened the house and ran the fans. The large screen TV provided fun movie watching in the evenings. The kitchen was very well equipped although the items were unorganized, mixed around and needed to be searched out.

My family loved this house off the beaten path in South Kona. We spent the first few days in town and then 5 days here. When we travel we like to stay in sometimes “not prime” locations because of the seclusion. The sunset views were incomparable and the nighttime star watching was superb. The water was too rough for us to enjoy Pebbles Beach but we walked along the waterfront anyways.
The house was clean and very well stocked with anything you need to cook. We tend to eat out lunches (if we eat out) and then cook our dinners.
We had two issues with the unit and Terri was responding immediately. One issue he had repaired within a few hours. Unfortunately, the second one required more time for them to fix but I am not faulting them and am sure it will be remedied ASAP based on how the property is maintained and the responsiveness of Terri.

We just came back home, from staying at this Little Peace of Heaven! The name says it all!! We enjoyed every moment of our stay here! Waking up to the breathtaking & priceless ocean views every morning! Sleeping with the sound of the waves! Spending time, drinking coffee, on the huge wrap around lanai & absorbing the ocean views, was a treat! It was truly magnificent!
Pebble Beach is right down the street also.
The house had everything, plus more! You name it, it has it!
It was very clean and welcoming! Terri, our host, is awesome! She is extremely responsive, and so pleasant!
We couldn't ask for more! Thank you Terri, for sharing this precious gem with us! Hoping to return again, and relax at this Little Peace of Heaven, in the near future!
Mahalo!

We really enjoyed having coffee or cocktails on the magical lanai! I used the pretty hanging mosquito net to keep away from the skeeters, which were heavy at times and non existent at others. Sound of a heavy rain on the metal roof was soooo cool. The sounds from the little frogs didn’t bother us at all, as I had worried they might. The house is kept impeccably clean and well stocked. Our favorite was the black pebble beach at the end of the road. We went snorkeling several times, there are shallow reefs full of colorful tropical fish right off the shore on the right hand side from the parking lot. The beach has a bit of a drop off but is great for playing in the surf. The house is about 24 minutes from town of Captain Cook. We loved Black Rock pizza and the plate lunches at L & L BBQ! Right near there, is a fun outdoor market on Sundays with fresh produce, flowers, honey, crafts, excellent food & local crafts. Check out the woman with the white coolers full of amazing smoked marlin! We had such a peaceful time. It did get in the high 80s several days and it was warm in the house even with all the fans going, but we’re from Alaska & others might not notice at all. It felt great to get a bit sweaty and though go jump in the ocean. The location was everything we dreamed and more. Thanks to Terri and the friendly folks who stocked bottled water and gas for the grill, for a truly unbelievable stay. I can’t tell you enough how many times we giggled with joy at our good fortune to have found this incredible place & such a great value.

My husband and I spent a week at this place. We enjoyed breakfast on the spacious lanai and watching the sunset every night. The road to the house was pretty steep, but it wasn't a problem if we you careful and driving slow. The parking at the bottom of the drive way was just fine (we didn't attempt parking the car at the top of the driveway :D ). The house had body boards, beach umbrella and snorkeling gear to use.
We walked to the private Pebbles Beach at the bottom of the street, Going down was not bad, but it was very steep so our way back was tough. I would not recommend going on foot.
Overall we enjoyed our stay a lot. The house had everything we needed from beach gear to cooking equipment and more.

This remote cottage is removed away from the typical hustle and bustle of Hawaiian tourism with a view that doesn't stop. Approx an hour south of Kailua-Kona, the home is perched on a steep, highly vegetative lot that is so incredibly different than anything my wife and I have ever experienced, I don't know where to start explaining the magic we experienced this last week.
All inclusive.... I'll start with an owners closet that is not locked but rather very accessible to extra everything. This means the owners care about your overall experience more than the almighty dollar. Every attention to detail in every corner of the house reminds one of visiting their favorite relative's home and the comfort that comes with those memories.
All boxes checked....clean, inviting, well stocked kitchen, thoughtful DVD collection and streaming services, comfortable furnishings, soft linens, outdoor shower, washer/dryer, tiki torches with back up fuel, BBQ with back up fuel, and did I mention the Pacific Ocean? In your face morning, noon and night.
Tranquility.....is one of the most impressive attributes provided. A distant wave crashing, an occasional bird chirping, a blue and green gecko scurrying across the patio....you have never experienced serenity and peace like this before.
But be forewarned! This is not for everyone. Certainly not for the first timer to the islands looking for white sand crowded beaches, loud energetic nightlife and CrazyT Shirt shops. This will appeal to the seasoned Hawaiian aficionado looking for the local vibe, the relaxed slower pace and comforts of your Hawaiian grandparent's home (you didn't realize you had).
We have already reached out to the owners about future stays and like always the reply was waiting in our email inbox before we returned home. Thank you caring owners!

The house was such a relaxing place to stay for our first trip to Hawaii! It had the best view of the ocean below with amazing sunsets every night. We truly enjoyed Pebble Beach and the hiking trails nearby. My daughter and her boyfriend cooked for me a few times with the well-stocked kitchen including spices and kitchen items needed to do so, as well as a gas grill. Enjoyed the local flora and fauna, including the cute geckos! Will definitely return in the near future as my retirement is fast approaching and look forward to traveling more. Thanks Terri for being such an excellent host.

House was perfect! My dad and I always stay in this neighborhood when we visit Kona because we love how peaceful and beautiful it is! Nothing beats watching the sunset either from the lanai or at the private beach at the end of the road. Terri was a great host and was very accommodating when I had asked last minute if an additional guest could stay. This worked out perfect as we had learned right before the trip that it might be the last for a while due to some health issues my dad needs to take care of so I was extremely grateful when my brother was able to come join us with no issues! We had plenty of room for the three of us and all the beds were comfy even including the sofa bed in the living room! The house was also equipped with everything we needed. There was plenty of cookware and dishes and even a pantry full of seasonings and things we were able to cook/barbecue with! Every time we had realized we forgot or needed something we were always able to find it in the house. My brother mentioned this was the best rental he has ever stayed in due to the care and detail that has gone into it and just how fully stocked it was with everything you could possibly need! Do not hesitate if you are thinking of booking this beautiful home! :)

What you imagine Hawaii to be!
This property and view in particular is STUNNING! It has to be the best view of any place I've ever been. We were on the first week of a 2 week stay in the Hawaiian islands celebrating our 10 year anniversary. The house is immaculately kept, and well stocked with all spices, cooking equipment, and supplies anyone would need. When you buy your awesome Hawaiian coffee there is an espresso maker, French press, and traditional drip coffee maker. The sunsets are among the best in the world! I could go on about this place but you have the idea. It's very private and secluded (which is what we were looking for). If you're looking for the traditional "Western" experience you should go to Oahu and Honolulu. We like to be travelers rather than tourists. If you go into Captain Cook or south you'll meet some Hawaiian nationals and have some awesome malasadas! There is the pebble beach at the end of the road and an AWESOME sand beach - Ho 'okena Beach park (go early - parking is slim and swim on the south side).
One note : ***This has nothing to do with the host, property, or amenities. If you are from the mainland USA then the road down to the house and the driveway is like nothing you've experienced unless you live in the Rockies. There are no roads as steep even in the Smoky Mountains where we live. Most likely 85-90% of people from the mainland have never driven roads like this. Just be aware. The road is for real! :) I walked the length of the whole road when it was dry and it felt fine. Went for a run (walked to the top of the road) and when I came back it was wet. I did not feel safe walking down the road when wet. I actually crab-walked down a couple portions to get back to the house. Ha!

Beautiful view and decorations! Great communication and was nice to have the extra directions to get to the house. The driveway is an adventure, my family loved it!

This house is a wonderful place and you have one of the best overlooks from your own lanai.
Moreover you have everything you need because it’s fully equipped (also with boogie baords, beach chairs etc., … and some cute geckos).
The communication with Terri was really great and helpful.
Mahalo!

A lovely and special Hawaiian home that’s well-stocked for self-sufficiency. Pebbles Beach at the bottom of the road provided excellent swimming and snorkeling; we were lucky it was calm with no rip current or waves during our visit. The water in the pipes is not potable, but there’s drinking water provided. Terri was super-responsive from booking to end of our stay. As long as there’s no road closure or accidents, two-lane 11 provides easy access to points north. We enjoyed this home very much.

Nice place to stay
House was clean, well-furnished, and equipped with dishes, towels, snorkeling gear, etc. The view is fantastic. There is a nice beach at the bottom of the neighborhood. The only drawback is that the driveway and some of the roads in the neighborhood are quite steep, but once you get used to that, it is fine.

This was our second time staying here and I cannot say enough good things about this beautiful home. Clean, attention to every detail, and a view beyond imagination . Mahalo Terri for allowing us to stay in your gorgeous home.

What a great place to stay if you want to get away! Beautiful views from the lanai, lots of entertaining geckos, and a number of excellent snorkeling & swimming spots nearby. It’s only 1.5 hours to volcanos National park where we had a great hike in the day and saw magma flowing at night. We snorkeled with manta rays at night too which was amazing. Terri’s place is a great base for lots of exploring but also good for just lazing around and enjoying the view. She’s a generous host with a well stocked house. Highly recommend.

I truly can’t say enough good things about this property, the location, the cleanliness, or the quick response from the host. Just superb from the moment I booked! Terri was so sweet and kind. Always polite with very quick and thorough communication. The check in was super easy especially with the amazing directions provided. The driveway was a breeze with our rented Jeep, but if you don’t have a 4x4 then there’s a very convenient parking spot at the bottom of the driveway. The house was impeccably clean and stocked with EVERYTHING you would need and then some! Seriously! This house has everything! Now let’s talk about the lanai and the view!!! Just WOW!! We got lucky enough to see humpback whales breaching while we were enjoying the breeze on the lanai. Spectacular!! I seriously don’t have 1 negative thing to say about this vacation home. I can see why it’s called “A little piece of heaven”. Highly highly HIGHLY recommend!!
