The process for booking, payment and communication with property owner were so simple and straightforward. The home was beautiful, comfortable, and close for all activities we had planned. Looking forward to staying at this property again in the future.

The home was perfect for our family. Plenty of room, nice and clean. It’s in a very quiet part of the island which we loved. Not far from volcano and south point adventures. We had a great experience.

The house is just over an hour away from downtown Kona, which is exactly what we wanted, to get away from the crowds. If the gorgeous view wasn’t enough, the area had everything else you needed. Local cafes, grocery shops, gas and friendly people. The house itself has everything you will need, some games, beach equipment, bbq grill, full size washer and dryer, and plenty of various patio furniture to relax on. The house was clean and the property is spacious. You’ll feel like you have the island to yourself yet you’re close enough to the main road. Just a short minute drive gets you on the main road to head to your destinations. We found going to Hilo rather than Kona much more pleasurable. The drive is a bit longer, but the roads are much less curvy making the drive easy and enjoyable and you pass through volcano national park so if that is on your list of to dos, you’re only about 45 minutes away. Plus Hilo has much more to offer as far as shopping and local businesses go. But, since the house is near the southern tip, you can choose either direction with nearly the same amount of travel time. We will definitely book the house again should we return to the Big Island anytime soon!

We enjoyed our stay at this property (Dec 6-Dec 12, 2023) The hosts were in communication just before we arrived and responded quickly to the few questions we had. The home was spotless and located in a quiet remote area away from the touristy areas we had experienced previously on another island. Felt very comfortable our entire stay, and were within decent driving range of National Parks and several different types of beaches each had its character, and we enjoyed it. The view of the ocean and the night sky from the property added to the overall experience. We are already talking about our next trip and will most likely try to book the same location if it is available. Thanks, Linda and Kevin..you have a great property and we treated it with great respect and appreciation.

My mom and I stayed here for a community event we had to do near where the home was located. We absolutely loved it and would highly recommend it. It’s HUGE and has a lot of space for a big family. The views from each room are phenomenal and the host was very receptive and answered extremely fast anytime I messaged. We had no issues at all here and will definitely be back. Mahalo for letting us stay in your beautiful home!!

I'm hesitant to give a good review since we'd like to come back next year. We'd kind of like to keep it a secret, but to be fair...
It's a wonderfully comfortable place and was the great location for us to come celebrate our mom/mother-in-law's 94th birthday. It's a bit of a drive from the airport (we got there after dark) and to get back into Kona but also a bit closer to Hilo - and maybe too close to the Punalu'ua Bakery (we bought twice as many malasadas as usual). We loved the loungers provided to use on the lanai and the recliners in the living room, plus a variety of beach chairs to take to the beach. Indoor and outdoor dining tables and chairs made sitting wherever we wanted easy, and the variety of sizes of coolers gave us the option to take just drinks or a picnic with us for the day. The beds were very comfortable and rooms were the perfect temperature with the doors open and/or the fans on.
The only negative, after getting swarmed when sitting out on the lanai, we did have to ask our family to bring some mosquito repellent so we could enjoy sitting outside. You'll need some if you go hiking anywhere so you may want to stop and buy some. We used a mosquito coil on the lanai, it did the job well.

This is our 6th visit to see family that live in Oceanview. So far, it’s the nicest place we’ve found there. Everything we needed was provided including our favorite lounge chairs to sit in on the lanai and recliners in the house.
Everything that is except something to keep away or protect us from the mosquitoes. Stop somewhere (I suggest Walmart in Kona as it’s also a great place for souvenirs) before you arrive and buy one or the other, or both (if you do any hiking, mosquito repellent is often recommended) and you’ll enjoy your time relaxing on the lanai more. Family nearby brought us a mosquito coil, it did the job.

Out in the middle of no where, I mean secluded. 3 br/ 2 ba away from the maddening crowd, but close enough good beaches. Local restaurants and market handy.
Thanks for the birthday flowers!

Great spot!
Great home. We wanted to stay on the lava flows to get away from it all and this location was perfect. We will stay there again. Next time we will stay longer.

Great house in a unique neighborhood
I am always in charge of finding our houses for vacations and I love looking for ones that are a little unique or special to the area. I loved the remoteness of this one and the views of lava and the ocean. When I booked it, my husband wasn’t so sure but after our stay he was on my side! The house was comfortable, had all the amenities we needed, and was in an interesting location - easy access to South Point, black sand beach, Two Step for snorkeling (highly recommend), etc. We really enjoyed our time in this part of the island and in this house. Thank you!

Beautiful Views!
Great property! We loved staying here. A couple of things to be aware of, there is no AC (we didn’t need it, so not a big deal), you will need to bring bottled water in for drinking (again not a big deal). Ocean View does not have a lot of places to eat if you are not planning to cook. When you look online it seems like there are quite a few, but in reality it’s pretty limited. We wanted to try the Thai place close to the property. We even drove back from Hilo early to make sure we made it back in time to order. They only take a limited number of orders each evening. We went by at 4:45 and they were not taking anymore orders that night. Just a few things to consider. The location is beautiful and it’s quiet. We enjoyed our weekend get away.

Great location for beaches on the south of the island
The property had everything we needed and was very comfortable for 4 adults. The location was great for visiting both well-known and more secluded beaches. We especially enjoyed the proximity to the Punalu’u Bake Shop for malasadas each morning as well. The host was very helpful in answering questions before and during our stay. We hope to return sometime.

Private and quiet getaway
The house is very well equipped. We enjoyed the quietness and privacy of the location. Each bedroom has sliding doors which is awesome to bring in the nice breeze. We visited Green Sand beach, South Point, Two-step beach at a hike at the near by state park.

Comfortable and relaxing!
Hi! We greatly enjoyed our stay at your property. The garage was super great to have! Everything was very comfy and easy to use. We struggled with your front door key, communicated with your property manager for attention to the lock, but otherwise, we had no issues. We had no idea this place was so close to the lava tube in the same area! We greatly enjoyed that tour as well. We visited South Point, bought goodies at Paradise Meadows, and ate at the neighborhood Thai restaurant. Yumm! Your home, the lanai, the birds and scenery - just so very nice. Thank you again!

Relaxing and beautiful
We spent three nights in this very comfortable, clean, and well-stocked home. The views were tremendous, and we loved the ocean breezes. There were 4 adults and 2 kids, and we were all very comfortable and had plenty of room. The property manager was terrific and was able to get us checked into the house with no problems when my phone had issues and wasn't getting messages. She contacted my daughter who was already in Kona anasnot us into the house. There was plenty to do in the area, and we were given several suggestions for activities and restaurants. The caves were amazing! This was our first time staying on the south end of the island, and it was really enjoyable. We would definitely stay there again in this home. It was quiet, relaxing, comfortable, and very clean. Great time!

Beautiful vacation home
We loved our 10 day stay in Ocean View! If you are looking for a peaceful, beautiful home this is the place for you. The house is very clean and nicely decorated. The beds are very comfortable and the house is stocked with everything you could need. There are beach chairs and boogie boards for you to use. I loved waking up each day with a view of the ocean from the lanai. There is such a nice breeze you will never miss air conditioning. There are many places to explore not far from Ocean View. We went to Punalu'u Black Sand Beach and saw sea turtles. You have to go to the Punalu'u Bakery for malasades and bread. We visited Volcanoes National Park and went snorkeling at Honaunau Bay by the City of Refuge. We also went to South Point and to Papakolea Green Sand Beach. Everyone we met in the stores and restaurants were very friendly. We are already looking forward to staying here again.

Peaceful and beautiful
Our family of five stayed for two nights in Ocean View, as we were looking for a more secluded, "no tourist" location. This home has an amazing view of the ocean from each of the three bedrooms. The beds were all very comfortable and the home was well stocked with everything we needed (beach chairs, snorkel gear, beach towels). It was very clean and we felt safe to enjoy our solitude (i.e., motion lights with a gate at the driveway). We explored one of the the four green sand beaches in the world (Papakolea Beach) as well as the best snorkeling on the Big Island (Two Step Beach, Honaunau). There is a market up the street with anything we needed as well as several restaurants. Many coffee and macademia farms to explore as well. If you are seeking a simple stay to enjoy the island's beauty, this is perfect. We would love to return. Mahalo!

Clean, bright, updated and comfortable property!
This was an extremely clean, bright, updated, comfortable and well maintained property that was well stocked with everything we needed. It was a great spot from which to easily explore some of the most beautiful parts of the island without having to drive for hours. The house is located in a very quiet and peaceful area with views of South Point from the Lanai. We would definitely come back!

The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. Everything was clean. Loved the outside area. The house was flat so no steps to deal with. Bedroom comfortable.

Bright and breezy
The house was clean and bright with lots of cool breeze. We did not need to even turn on the fan. The house is new and comes with many amenities. Like the wood floor instead of carpet for easy cleaning and also no odor. There are beach mats and chairs which are in clean good condition as well as few coolers to borrow for beach days. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of pots/pans/cooking gadgets, all in good condition especially the non stick pans, no scratches. We were excited to see pineapple and passion fruit in the yard. No next door neighbor so it is very quiet. I love that all the rooms have sliding doors so everyone can wake up with the view of the ocean. Great place to start our vacation. I would stay here again. Reminder to owner to list the direction to the house without going thru locked gate. The first day we followed Google and arrived at a locked gate. There is another way to thru prince kuhio which will by pass the gate because until you get into the house, you won't have access to the key card.

Very clean home, private location.
We liked our stay at this property. The night sky is amazing, and the privacy from any other homes is fantastic, we couldn't even see any other houses at night! The house was clean as a whistle on arrival and everything was really comfortable for our family of three. It would be easy to add 1-3 more and still be fine. Good food market just a short distance away, and convenient to the South Island activities.
The only draw back is the Google directions lead in to a locked gate. Take the alternate route!

So Lovely and peaceful
Our family had such a lovely time there. Our kids were thrilled to pick fresh passion fruit every morning and made good use of the buggy boards and games that were available to use.
It was so nice to walk in to a fresh clean spacious home. If it is peace and quiet you are looking for - this is the place you should stay. There is a bit of a drive to Kona and Hilo but the scenery on the way is stunning and the coffees ( go to Menehune's for sure ) are so good.
We would highly recommend this place.

So Lovely and peaceful
It was so lovely coming "home" to a clean house after a long drive. The kids enjoyed the games and the buggy boards and finding passion fruit growing around the house. There is lots of room for the family of five and its super quiet if that is what you want.
I would totally recommend this home to anyone going there. Although a bit of a drive to Kona and Hilo, there are so many cool things to see along the way and of cause the coffee stops are .....well lets just say I am done buying coffee here in Canada.

Peaceful and serene
The house and location was absolutely perfect for us. The skyline, ocean views and coastline from South Point to Humuhumu Point were spectacular and relaxing with that perfect drink in the afternoon. As night time rolled in, the sky lights up with so many stars and planets it is unreal, crisp, clear (except the one night it rained) and quiet, very peaceful for relaxing after/before a busy day sightseeing. Another big plus is the ability to go the Kailua-Kona or Hilo side for activities made it an even more enjoyable way of spending our time. There are many local areas to hike and find that private/peaceful beach area, from Manuka Bay to Pohue Bay (coastline below the house) to Papakolea Green Sand Beach at South Point. Just so much to go into, its best to experience all this while staying in a completely stocked vacation home.
The home was very well stocked with such nice amenities in the kitchen, bathrooms and throughout, there were even board games for kids, as well as outdoor games made available for family fun. The beds were comfortable and clean, and the home itself is very nicely decorated. The BBQ area was the nice relaxing spot!!!
We highly recommend this home and we will be returning for future stays.
Special "Thanks" to Colleen for assisting us out when needed.
Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful paradise.

Our fabulous Hawaiian vacation stay!
Our vacation stay in Ocean View was wonderful. The home we rented was comfortable, clean and provided all the new and updated daily necessities. The sunrise, vegetation and ocean view from the Lanai was breathtaking! The comfortable beds and peacefulness of the nights lulled me to sleep. From the house, we had easy traveling and beautiful scenery which gave us access to sightseeing, shopping, wonderful restaurants and some of the best eats! The cliffs at South Point, black sand beach with it's large turtles, the heavenly malasades at the Punalu's Bakery and of course the Big Islands active volcano at Volcano National Park we're just a few of the beautiful and tasty treats that the island had to offer. After a busy day of shopping and sightseeing, it was nice to return to our comfortable Hawaiian vacation rental in the quaint little town of Ocean View, put my feet up, enjoy an ice cold beverage and watch a spectacular sun set! I can't wait until the next vacation to return to this beautiful home away from home!
