This home filled the bill of a one level spacious and quiet home for 2 couples. Screened in porch was extra nice. Rooms were super quiet and location was perfect. Quick access to Morehead and Beaufort.

Plenty of space, great air conditioning, screened in porch, quiet neighborhood, no problems with internet, easy to get to downtown Beaufort and Atlantic Beach, also great to have a washer/dryer.

We needed a quiet, peaceful getaway and Kathy and Jack's home on the river was the perfect place. Felt very comfortable, cozy and homey but spacious. Very close to downtown Beaufort and not far from Morehead city/Atlantic Beach.

I enjoyed my stay at this property. Plenty of space and yard for my grandchildren. Wish they would've had a pier to fish from. The mosquitoes was savage my poor granddaughter got the worst of it.😮💨😩 My mom was so happy with the screened in porch
Really wish the bush wasnt in front of window of the room with half a bath. The view couldve been awesome for her. Definitely would love to come again.❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for sharing your home with us once again. This was our second stay here and it did not disappoint. We got to see dolphins in the North River and enjoyed many sunrises from the screened in porch. Our family of 7 was very comfortable and we had everything we needed. It proved to be a wonderful home base for us as we explored the Crystal Coast and the town of Beaufort. We hope to get the chance to return again in the future. Thank you King family for your hospitality.

A nice older home. comfortable and great location close to Beaufort (6 minutes) and with nice view of the water. We enjoyed the nice collection of books. And as others have mentioned sitters ng in the screened porch is wonderful. There was a fairly strong mildew smell when we first entered the house but it got a bit better when we opened the sliding glass door for awhile to air it (after turning off the AC of course). later after closing the sliding door and turning the AC back on, we ran the dehumidifier that is in the kitchen area and that also helped. The water is well water and was soft so it was nice to shower with, but we bought some purified bottled water at Food Lion for drinking. We also enjoyed watching the local bunnies playing in the backyard.

The setting of this property can't be beat. It was so wonderful being able to sit in the den, the screen porch or the deck and look out over the wide North River. The house was larger than I anticipated and laid out perfectly for our party. The bedroom we used had a large picture window overlooking the water--bliss!--and an attached half bath. The master given to our sister and BIL had an attached full bath and was on the farthest end of the house. Suited them perfectly as they are late risers and enjoy a dark, quiet room. We enjoyed using the large jetted tub and large shower in the hall bathroom. The big dining room table--separated from the common den--worked great for setting up the computers and getting the inevitable work done. We used the eat-in kitchen several nights and found it spacious and well stocked. Finally, the screened porch on the back of the house was the perfect spot to leave our two senior dachshunds when we were away for several hours. We hope to return to this place. It made me homesick for a place I've never lived. Hard to explain but the quiet, serenity and beauty of the place was outstanding. Thanks to our wonderful hosts!!!

First the good things: this house has a pretty view of the river, and lovely sunsets. It was restful watching birds fly by. It's in a quiet residential neighborhood, but still not far from Beaufort center. The house has room to sleep a lot of people--the rooms are small but there are a lot of beds. We loved the family room, with a view of the water, and the screen porch. The kitchen is well outfitted--I make Thanksgiving dinner there, with a turkey, with no difficulties.
However, this house just needs some repairs. It has the feel of someone trying to squeeze every last penny out of it before selling it. The lights in the breakfast nook don't work. We ate Thanksgiving dinner by candlelight and a camping lantern. It was kind of romantic but got old fast. The dining room does have some lighting though. The living room has two lamps that don't work, so no lighting at all. All the rooms are pretty low light.
The bathroom fan has been taped in an "on" position. So it runs all the time, which is not so bad (though it's loud!) but it's also dying, so it stops and starts, coughs and whines and phases on and off, all day and all night. Even with both doors closed it still kept us awake at night. Finally my husband just removed the tape and turned it off. Bliss! Then we could sleep. But no, then the smoke alarm in our bedroom started beeping its "low battery" warning; we had to disable that so we could sleep. Not sleeping is not what we were hoping for on a vacation!
I tried to contact the property manager several times but didn't get any responses.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this spacious house in a nice suburban neighborhood only several minutes away from historic downtown Beaufort. The sunrises over the North River are spectacular. It was very helpful to our stay that the kitchen was so well equipped - plenty of pots and pans, as well as many seasonings. We would recommend this house for groups of two to six people wanting a relaxed and comfortable environment. If we return to this area, we would look to stay here another time.

Nice place to stay but no water access. Would go back if a pier is constructed for the property.

We (Inala's - Ramakrishna,Mytreyi,Ashwin,Varun & PetDog-Bruno) rented this place as a part of our 2022 Labor Day weekend outing. We fell in love with the location of the house backing into a lake - a spectacular view of the lake and skyline in the evening and a beautiful sunrise for next couple of days. We enjoyed sitting in the backyard deck and enjoyed the cool breeze sipping in our beverages while our kids played along with our pet dog (Brono). The ambience in the house was also very homely with lot of shell decor. All the amenities were there and we had to just bring in some groceries for our coffee and teas. We had enjoyed the beaches (Beaufort/Atlantic/Emerald), nice evening strolls in the Beaufort downtown followed with nice dinner. We especially kids enjoyed our ferry ride to Lookout lighthouse and Marine musuem. Overall, our stay here was a memorable one and will cherish for long time. We will keep this house in our list to re-visit in near future. Only wish Kathy to take care of the lock issue for future.

Peaceful Waterfront Stay
This property is highly recommended as an alternative to the touristy places at the beach. The view of the river can’t be beat and the house is very spacious! Also, it’s close to restaurants and other places to go near Beaufort and Morehead City.

The Beaufort house
The closest beach is 20 minutes away. Fishing from the back yard is not ideal because of getting snagged on the rocks. Need to fix a few things. Had a lot of utensils and everyday house items.

Great view!
Fantastic property and a great stay. The property is right on the water, which makes for awesome views. Please do not try to access the water from the property, the rocks are slippery and full of sharp barnacles.
Bring your own toilet paper (for more extended stays), toiletries, and dishwashing detergent pods.
Overall, an amazing stay and highly recommended.

Wonderful
Huge house with tons of room for family. Very very clean. Quiet neighborhood not far from downtown Beaufort. Will be back for sure! Would have loved a dock or ramp on property, but the public ramp is 5 mins away and very easy to get in and out. It’s beautiful to watch the water from the house, screen room and yard. Loved it.

The house was very clean and stocked with all the necessities. There is a new outdoor shower, which was a lovely surprise. The screened-in porch and back deck are the perfect spots to enjoy the expansive water view from the house. The primary negative of this property was the lack of water access directly from the property. When we arrived we found a "Keep Out" sign posted across the boat slip, which was dilapidated, slippery, and covered in oyster shells at the water's edge. I had specifically inquired about the ability for my children to swim from the property, so we were quite disappointed that it was completely unsafe for them to do so. There was no way for them to get in the water there without climbing over very large clusters of oyster shells. They did go into the river a couple times from the public boat launch a few houses down the street, but we ended up preferring the crystal clear water of the nearby local beaches anyway. The house is located in a very quiet neighborhood, but just a few minutes drive into historic Beaufort. We found some good restaurants and enjoyed the historic tour. The farmer's market on Saturday mornings is not to be missed! We took a ferry to Cape Lookout, which was the highlight of our trip and really loved the beach at Ft. Macon State Park in Atlantic Beach (about 20 minutes away). Overall, great location and clean house!

A Home Away from Home
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this "home away from home" - and it felt exactly like that. The weather wasn't great during our stay but the screened in porch overlooking the river provided a much needed respite and place to enjoy the sea air. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. The beds were comfortable and each room gave our family of adults and teens plenty of space to have some quiet time when needed after a day out. We had a small issue that the owners responded to very quickly so communication with them was easy. My family has already asked to return!

The view of the sound was so beautiful. We loved the sunroom with it's ceiling fans. We could stay there for the rest of our lives doing nothing but enjoying the view. I also enjoyed the outdoor shower. A little slice of heaven. I highly recommend this place. Plenty of space, peace and quiet. The perfect place to unwind.
