About this house rental
Welcome to Spencer Hill Cabins! We offer two luxury vacation rental homes nestled on a 4-acre pristine property overlooking Lake Wanahoo, one mile north of Wahoo, Nebraska).
Naw-Tee Pine is our 3 bedroom /3 bath cabin finished with knotty pine walls & ceilings, reclaimed barn wood floors and granite counters. All linens are provided.
Main Floor includes:
Large great room with dining for 10 and huge windows with amazing lake views and a large sliding door to the deck with a weber, gas grill.
Master bedroom with a queen log-framed bed and the perfect place to watch the sun rise and a sliding door access to the deck.
Fully equipped kitchen with granite counters.
Bathroom with shower over tub.
Loft includes:
King bed and 2 built-in bunks.
Bathroom with shower over tub.
Lower Level includes:
Bunk bedroom (2 sets of twin beds. Top beds are for children under 80 lbs.)
Full size sofa sleeper.
Bathroom with shower over tub.
Flat screen SMART tv with dvd player and many movies.
Access to patio, fire pit and large yard.
The quiet town of Wahoo is located 1 mile south and offers many conveniences from fast food to restaurants, banks, a bakery, a meat locker and grocery store. The town also has an 18-hole golf course, a large park and swimming pool and is the site of the Saunders County Fair. Omaha's world class Henry Doorly Zoo, the College World Series and the annual Berkshire Hathaway meeting are an hour's drive away. The Wahoo Municipal Airport is also located just 1 mile east.
We are sorry but due to allergy issues we cannot accommodate pets. We also do not permit smoking, excessive drinking or loud parties on the premises at any time.

We had an amazing stay at Spencer Hills cabin! The kids loved the upstairs loft with the built in beds and little play area. We spent hours outside flying kites, fishing, playing kickball and having water balloon fights. We also went to the aquatic center in Wahoo which was so much fun! Thank you for allowing us to stay at your cabin and create lasting memories!

The Spencer Hill Cabins are one of our favorite family gathering areas. Rick and Linda accommodate their guests by providing a clean, comfortable space with adequate furnishings. It feels like our "home away from home". My family and I enjoy the outdoor patio area, the green space for lawn games, and the fire pit area for roasting marshmallows. The cabins are in a private location, close to the lake, and are very spacious. We love the central location, as it is convenient for our Omaha and Lincoln family members. In addition to the beautiful scenery, Wahoo offers activities for all ages. The kids enjoyed the free pool passes, going kayaking and fishing, while others shopped at the area boutiques. Many great memories were made!

Perfect location to celebrate our mothers 82nd birthday! The cabin is perfectly appointed and immaculate! We were able to enjoy home cooked meals around a beautiful family size table. The lake view and accessibility it perfect. You can even walk into town! Loved that there were three floors. Perfect for hanging out together or getting a moment alone. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

The property is great. We had a small family meeting here, some are from Wisconsin and others are in Denver so perfect middle point. The house is beautiful, spacious, and clean. Rick and Linda we extremely easy to work with an answered any questions we had before we arrived. The deck is great for morning coffee, the yard is perfect for daytime activities (playing cornhole, spikeball, and we set up a volleyball net), the lake is great for fishing, kayaking, or just a place to go for a quiet walk. The town of Wahoo is super close and has anything you might need. I highly recommend this for someone looking for a nice quiet getaway.

Our experience at Naw-Tee Pine Cabin at Spencer Hill was amazing. We appreciated the communication with the hosts, the cleanliness, the decor, the proximity to the lake, and all of the amenities. Rick and Linda thought of every detail, from fully supplied kitchen to outdoor games. It was an excellent setting to entertain family and some friends. The outdoor space was great for children. We highly recommend Spencer Hill cabins.

We really loved staying in this property. It was clear that Linda was very thoughtful in preparing the home for guests who wanted to stay somewhere comfortable and easy. The home was clean, had everything we needed (and more) and was such a great stay for our family. We had 5 adults and 4 children (including 2 infants) stay at the cabin and it was great for all ages. One day we had my husband's 90 year old great-grandma over for a visit as we were in Nebraska visiting family, and it was safe for her to visit even though she has mobility issues.

Great escape for family Easter celebration! We had a blast - the cabin and furnishings were perfect for our gathering. Comfortable and easy location for our group traveling in for Easter festivities. Great communication and beautiful setting to boot

Our stay was amazing. Linda was great to work with and very accommodating. The property is better than described and they have thought of every thing from battery powered candles on the table to binoculars and bird watching books next to the windows facing the lake. A great experience and will recommend it to anyone in the Wahoo area.

This is a fabulous place on a lake. Fantastic house that looks exactly like the pictures and was tastefully decorated. Plenty of room and beds for everyone. This would be a great place to stay in the summer, as the outdoor living and activities would be wonderful. Owners were very organized and communicative. We will stay there again! Scott

The property was very well maintained and Linda was very available and prepared! There was plenty of outdoor green space for our kids to run around and the playground by the lake was perfect. Quick trips to the bakery and meat locker also were wonderful. We would recommend staying here without question!

Highly recommended! We rented the cabin for a quick weekend getaway from Omaha with another family. Short and easy drive from Omaha. The three kids under the age of 4 had a blast. So much room for them to run and play outdoors and the park nearby was a huge hit and an easy walk. Bunk beds and s'mores skewers were also big hits! The cabin was amazing, VERY clean and well stocked. The owners were fabulous to work with and responded quickly with any questions. They gave great tips on local activities and restaurant recommendations. We can't wait to go back!

Linda’s home is beautiful, clean, and she adds a lot of details to ensure you have a comfortable stay. She went out of her way to look up things for us! We enjoyed our stay and our kids had so much fun! We rented kayaks through Leaha at Hammer Outfitters (402) 719-9162. Great way to enjoy the lake!

We thoroughly enjoyed our sister's weekend at Spencer Hill! The accommodations were perfect for the 9 of us. With 3 bathrooms, plenty of space, an awesome kitchen and fireplace room we were able to totally relax. Of course, the beautiful snow falling outside helped add to the picturesque views from every room. We brought our own meals to cook and really had everything we needed provided at the house. Thanks, Linda, for all of your guidance and for the awesome music on your iPod! We highly recommend!

We found the Spencer Hill Cabin on the home away site. We wanted a central location that our 10 person family could get together for the weekend. The cabin absolutely exceeded our expectations! The pictures don’t even do it justice! It is such a beautiful place that is cozy and clean! So many wonderful features like the Bluetooth radio, fireplace, and indoor and outdoor supplies. Hands down I would recommend this place to anyone! We will definitely be back!!!

The Spencer Hill Cabin is a beautiful place to stay. It has many details which add to the experience (soaps, paper towels, Bluetooth radio, kitchen supplies) and the owners do a great job keeping up the property! The gas grill was out of propane, but there was also a charcoal grill with supplies on the downstairs patio.
The fireplace upstairs and TV downstairs really made it a great family environment. There were so many tables and chairs, that activities and meals were easy. There was some road construction, but the town is very close by, with a grocery store and Pizza Hut, etc. We didn't attempt the lake, but it is within walking distance on a trail from the cabin. Overall, we are very serious about staying there again! Thank you to the owner's for such a nice place!

We were looking for an end of summer getaway for our entire family to have a chance to relax and enjoy some family time together. Your property truly exceeded our expectations. The property is quiet, well maintained and so serene. The windows provide stunning views of the sunrise in the mornings and each day we were lucky to see the bald eagle soaring over the lake. No amenity was overlooked, including a new toothbrush in the drawer for the daughter who forgot hers, and even marshmallow sticks to roast smores by the campfire! Lots of games are provided for a little family competition, and a great TV in the family room for the Husker game! Even though the weather was cold this week-end, we tried our luck at fishing, and the grandson was lucky enough to catch a couple bass! Linda was great to work with and answered all my concerns. We had a wonderful time and will definitely try to book this fabulous getaway next year! Thank you for sharing this little piece of paradise!

We loved this lakeside cabin! The home is beautiful and very well maintained. The grounds are spacious and quiet. Lots of room for the kids to run and a nice fire pit for evenings by the fire making s'mores.
This place is very relaxing and comfortable. If you like to fish, you have access to a great fishing lake in Lake Wanahoo.

This property is situated on peaceful Lake Wanahoo in Wahoo, NE. There are 3 levels to the house for the accommodations of 12 people. The décor is absolutely beautiful in the home complimented by a spacious outdoor area for kickball, etc. The owners provide so much more than what the write up is in the VRBO and they are wonderful to work with.
We will definitely use this property again.

This is a special place. The design and furnishing of the home show great attention to detail. Everything is first class. Because of the setting, one is able to enjoy nature including beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We also saw many types of birds during our stay including eagles. Our family (son-in-law, daughters, grandchildren) enjoyed the setting as well as hiking around and kayaking on Lake Wanahoo. The kayaks come with the rental and were an unexpected bonus. We wish we had had more time to explore the lake with the kayaks. The large and beautifully maintained yard was especially inviting to children (and youthful adults) for running and playing games. We feel fortunate to have discovered this warm and inviting place. We intend to return.

Our stay at the Spencer Hill Cabin was wonderful. The property was very clean and well maintained. Everything we needed was at our fingertips. It was wonderful to see the children running and playing in the yard. There were balls and toys at the cabin. The kids wanted to be outside playing. Our electronics and cell phones were history!
The cabin is a short drive from Lincoln and Omaha. We were able to go to Lincoln for a night out and return to the tranquil retreat in the evening.
We loved our stay at Spencer Hill and we would recommend this cabin to other who want a family get a way.

This beautiful vacation home was a perfect choice for our family get-away! Located a short drive from the cities of Omaha and Lincoln, it was wonderful to drive from a busy city into the beauty and quiet of rural Nebraska. A short 20-30 minute drive took us past corn and soybean fields to this "home away from home".
One day our family visited Lincoln and toured the UNL Cornhusker football stadium and UNL's Lester F. Larsen Tractor Test and Power Museum. The next day we went to Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo. We discovered there are so many things to do in both Lincoln and Omaha, I'm sure we'll be back!
Each evening we returned to prepare a meal and eat together, either on the deck outside or around the large dining room table. The owners have furnished the kitchen with everything a family needs to prepare and serve a meal. There is a huge gas grill that can accommodate cooking for a large crowd. We loved having a bon fire in the evening and making S'mores!
Each room of the home is decorated beautifully. The beds/bedding are ultra comfortable! Our grandchildren, ages 2 and 4 loved the sleeping nooks built into the Master bedroom. There's even a surprise play area tucked away for the small children! It's evident the owners have grandchildren as the whole home and property is very family-friendly.
I appreciate how easy it was to communicate with Linda. I also appreciated finding a property that did not require a week-long reservation, as we only could find a few days to get away that worked for everyone in the family.
The weather was stormy when we left our home in SD en route to Lake Wanahoo. Linda and her husband checked weather radar for us and advised what route to take. I'd say that is personalized service!
This vacation property would also work if you have a larger group of friends or family and some would like to stay in their RV. Some of the group could stay in the vacation home, and the 'Campers' could reserve a site at the State Park, (which is a very short walk from the home).
Our experience with this vacation home was outstanding. I am sure we will return!
