We had an incredible stay from start to finish! The barn offered a much needed break from work, school, and our electronics. We were able to unplug and just enjoy the creek and the beautiful grounds. We took several hikes nearby in Joyce Kilmer Wilderness, Huckleberry Knob, the AT, and Great Smokey Mountain National Park.
The caretaker Frank was so friendly and helpful with anything we needed! God willing we will be back as soon as we can!

What a fantastic place to stay. We absolutely loved it and didn't miss technology at all. We had just enough internet to check weather and that was all we needed. Hikes, playing in the creek and some board games in the evenings, or a hot chocolate by the fire. Beautiful scenery, fantastic accommodation and great people. Well worth it.

We had a wonderful five nights this September in the Barn. Hoffman retreat is a special place! Many acres of hiking trails right on property! The creek I. Front and on the side of the barn was so peaceful and wonderful to fall asleep to. We did some Kayaking on Lake Santethlah, hiking in the smokies and cooked some amazing meals on the open campfire! Not having WiFi or a tv was the cherry on top! Two nights tropical storm Beta rained cats and dogs, which forced some card games and some reading. We always slept with the barn doors open, listening to the night. Sleeping to the pouring rain falling on the “Tin” roof was wonderful as well! Can’t say enough, it’s just wonderful!

Im tempted to tell you nothing and keep this all to myself. Siiiiigh. It was perfect. Really just perfect. The creeks are gorgeous, the trails, the fireflies- everything is simply serene. My girls played in those creeks every waking moment. We found salamanders, built imaginary worlds, explored the property, photographed the diverse fungal life, watched elusive birds, grilled out every meal, hid away in the lofts, and hiked and hiked and hiked. We even figured out how to work a wood burning stove for thr chilly nights. The shower is fantastic! The cabin is well supplies. This is where primitive meets convenience. Highly recommend!

Don’t waste your time , was told roads were accessible by motorcycle and they were barely accessible with a 4 wheel drive truck , the cabin looks way bigger in the pictures than in person , horrible experience and waste of money , we had to waste a day of our vacation to try to find another cabin which cost us another us more money , we got charged one night plus cleaning fees when we never got to stay in the cabin and took me fighting to get a refund at all loosing Alot of money worst experience I have ever had on a vacation , I do not recommend this cabin or vrbo I will never book with them again

Great property! Very peaceful. There is no A/C, but even with highs in the low 80 and lows in the mid fifties at night, it was perfect. Love the decorations and setting.

My wife and I enjoyed every single aspect of this cabin. There isn't anything we would change except a comfortable, safe place to park our Harley before driving the gravel road back to the cabin. Of course that is not something the owners need to concern themselves with, that is just a personal request for us as we came to the area to ride the Tail of the Dragon, Blue Ridge Parkway as well as the mountain roads. The owners were very open and honest about the gravel road back to the property so we came prepared.
The location is perfect, quiet and secluded. If you're looking for a place to just disconnect and relax, this is the place for you.
When we returned from a long ride all day. We took a long hot shower in the awesome shower, fixed dinner on the open pit fire then cuddled up with a blanket and hot drink and relaxed by the fire listening to the rushing water of the creek as well as the night noises.
You will not find a better place to stay in this area. And By The Way, the drive from Robbinsville to the Cabin is incredible, especially if you're on a MC.

Everything we had hoped for and more!
My wife and I spent our one year anniversary here and loved every second of it! Words cannot describe the detail put into this cabin, you must see it for yourself. We were a litttle worried we would be hot during our stay since it was the middle of June but the temperature was perfect the entire time. Waking up to the sound of the creek was our favorite part. The cabin was very clean and well taken care of. We cooked on the outdoor stove top almost every night. Very private and very secluded. We hope to be back very soon!

Perfect Wedding Retreat
We had the most incredible wedding at the Huffman Creek Retreat. We rented all four cabins which were spread out enough to provide each of our family members to have privacy but still within walking distance of one another. Since we had a few more family members than would all fit into the four cabins we also worked with the booking team at Huffman to secure two other cabins within a short distance of the retreat. The wedding turned into a several day event which all started with a casual welcome party and fish fry at "The Barn." Listening to the rush of the river under twinkling lights and then enjoying the campfire was simply picturesque. When our wedding day came, we had the reception and ceremony set up in the riverside lawn of the Chestnut Lodge. The owners allowed us to construct a beautiful arch from the property's trees and with the natural backdrop of the waterfall I can't even begin to explain what a magical experience it was. All in we had just under 50 guests and the property was just perfect. Every question we had was answered promptly, every request we had was completed with grace, and the overall wedding weekend was so much more than we could have ever imagined. If Southern Living meets natural beauty is the theme you are going for, this is the perfect place for your special day. I'd be happy to share photos with anyone interested. Just get in touch with the owners and they will pass them along. I can't say enough about what this place has come to mean to us and I'm so grateful we happened upon it for our wedding! This is the place you have been looking for.

outstanding remote getaway
The pictures do not do this place justice. If you are looking for a very remote getaway, this is it. My wife and I will be back. BJ and his wife were super helpful.

Wonderful private getaway!
My husband and I had an amazing stay at the barn, very cozy and sooo peaceful, away from city life. Relaxing on the hammock to the sound of the running creek was the best part. With no internet connection we had the most relaxing de-stress vacation ever. The only thing that I didn't like was that I kept bumping into webs inside the cabin which was quite annoying, and it didn't feel as clean as I like it.

A nature lovers experience
Beautiful location, tranquility and peace at its best! This is a place to spend time with family and the great outdoors -- and to be completely unplugged.
Location across from the brook was beautiful, BJ answered our every question and met our every need!
Great experience for our family of 3.
