Overall, it was a nice place to relax at, especially after being out all day. I enjoyed the views from the deck and also walking to the pier for a closer look of the boats and sunsets. Everyone was able to spread out and still have room. The table was large & great for gaming & eating. There are good places to eat nearby, especially the one about 2 houses down. Plenty of parking is provided. (Driveway is a little tricky to find at first) Photos accurately represent the listing.
It is a good home base for driving to different attractions and I liked the quieter setting the place provided.
Yes - I would stay here again.
Pro:
Very clean & mostly newly renovated
Common area was very spacious & great for gathering
Water & boat views from the deck (between some trees but clearly visible)
Loved having coffee on the deck
Large Table
Quiet and semi-secluded
The pier was walkable
Kitchen was well stocked, as were the bathrooms
Cons:
Stairs - but the view/deck makes up for it
Air flow was lacking down the hall & in the bedrooms
Fans were provided, but were extremely dusty
Some windows & blinds were hard to open & close, & need to be replaced
Air-conditioning would greatly improve the comfort, especially in the bedrooms
Note: The bedroom straight down the hallway leads to another bedroom. You have to go through that bedroom to access the last bedroom. Depending on your group could be good or bad. Was not an issue for us.

We really enjoyed our visit to Mansett overlook. Southwest harbor is a great starting point to acces Acadia National park without the crowds of Bar Harbor more of real Maine experience. Don’t be fooled by the exterior—the interior is fully renovated and there is a nice view of the harbor from the wrap around deck.

House itself inside was nice and clean, pictures matched reality, property is pretty centrally located if you’re doing Acadia and Bar Harbor isn’t too far away. Manset is a cute town and quiet. We would gladly stay again.

The front door was a little sticky, once inside we were very pleased with everything. The first bedroom lacked privacy (with a window into the living room) but this was not an issue for us.

As other reviews noted, this house is above what looks like an abandoned garage/warehouse, which is a little strange. It's also fairly close to the neighbors. We did enjoy being in Southwest Harbor. The house is close to Bass Harbor Lighthouse, Ship Harbor, Wonderland, Thurston's, etc. Inside, it is just beautiful! It has been renovated in a modern and tasteful way. The kitchen is large and well-stocked. There are 3 bedrooms with plenty of beds. It was nice to have 2 full bathrooms. The huge porch has a beautiful view of the water. We happened to be there during a heat wave, and it was too bad that the house doesn't have A/C. We didn't feel comfortable leaving the windows open while we were out or at night while we slept, because someone on the porch could easily enter the house through an open window (the windows are only a few feet above the porch). It was cool at night, and the living room and kitchen cooled down nicely. But even though we opened the bedroom windows as soon as we got home and then closed them right before we went to sleep, the bedrooms never cooled down and were 82 degrees at night. I was also surprised to see some basic things not in functioning order, considering the price of the house. For example, the living room sliding door had a hole in the screen, 2 of the windows (1 in the kitchen and 1 in the bedroom) wouldn't close from the inside, so someone had to go out to the porch to push them closed, while the person on the inside locked them. The bedroom closest to the living room doesn't have a window to the outside. It has a window to the living room (no glass) and a skylight, but we found that a little strange. Also, while the house felt very new, the beds seemed older. While some of them were comfortable, some of them were extremely squeaky (like the double bed in the back bedroom). I would have expected new mattresses in a beautifully renovated rental. Overall, we had a good stay, but we wouldn't return to this house in the summer due to some of these issues.

Great view from the living room and the deck but multiple inconveniences. Expensive location. Need to keep this in mind when assessing the deficiencies we note.
The house had a great view of the harbor from the deck and the living room but in our opinion it does not make up for the multiple inconveniences and poor maintenance.
In addition to the unfriendly landlord, the house has many issues that made our stay inconvenient. In order to get to the small bedroom with two single beds, you have to walk through another bedroom and disturb its occupants. The squeaky bedroom door makes it even worse. Additionally the small bedroom did not have any blinds on one window so the light wakes up those of us who try to sleep a bit in the morning. When I called and asked for a blind, they promised to put it up the next day, but only did it two days later without even letting us know that they were coming. The other window in the same small bedroom is at an angle, like in an attic, so that the blind there was hanging vertically with the light shining directly into the face of the two people in two beds. All three single beds are too short for an adult or a teenager who is 5’9” or taller, unless one liked to sleep with his feet hanging off the bed. The “master” bedroom is inside the building and does not have any real windows other than an opening into the living room, making it dark, stuffy and loud in case somebody is watching TV at night. Minor point: the very old washer and drier are located in a bedroom, and the washer only has one warm/cold cycle, so if you, like myself, prefer to wash most of your clothes in a cold cycle, you are out of luck.
Additionally, the house had almost no toilet paper left, including in all the closets, so we had to go look for it, and no laundry detergent at all.

Although the amenities state thermostat under heating/cooling there is NO AC. The first few nights were stuffy but tolerable. After a night and couple of days of intolerable heat we had to pack up and leave a day early. I reached out to Vacasa and was told local management would be reaching out to me but never heard from anyone. Home is clean except for pink mold on shower curtains but the lawn area is very unkept with miscellaneous junk around. Views would be incredible if trees were trimmed. All in all just disappointing.

The location and the space is great! Management of the booking, cleanliness, ease of check-in & check-out was excellent.
I took off 1 star for the following 2 things:
1. The apartment is on top of a barn-like building. There is one huge opening that gives a vibe of an abandoned building (which obviously it is not). This gave us an uneasy feeling and took away from the first impression. Suggestion for owners - put a barn door to close up that opening. Also, shutters on the lower building windows would help with making a much better impression.
2. Beds gave off some musty old smell. I assume they are old (or/and the furniture behind it is old). Definitely change the beds. The smell takes away from the impression of the apartment that has been renovated to look clean and new. They should be changed.
Beautiful view, close to Acadia, fully stocked kitchen and bathrooms.

Perfect Getaway
This home was perfect for my family (including kids) and parents. The home is spacious with private and comfortable bedrooms, modern kitchen and bathrooms, a beautiful deck and the most amazing views. For us, being in Southwest Harbor was a nice reprieve from the crowds in Bar Harbor and ANP. There is a rocky beach access at the end of the driveway that we walked to every morning and evening, some great restaurants (Peter Trout's Tavern and The Upper Deck), and an easy drive to Seawall, Bass Harbor Lighthouse, Wonderwall and other attractions. We absolutely loved our stay and will be back again!

We absolutely loved our stay at this property! It was clean, modern, spacious and provided all the amenities we needed. The location was perfect in the quiet Southwest Harbor with a short drive to ANP and Bar Harbor. The view from the large deck, and inside the living room and dining room, was spectacular. I truly couldn’t recommend this more and hope to be able to return soon!

This property was perfect for us and quite a bit larger than we expected. It was very clean and you could tell recently remodeled. The setting is a little peculiar but don’t let that stop you. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

Breathtaking
Our whole family of 6 adults stayed very comfortably in this lovely home. The view is breathtaking! The front of the house is all windows and it looks straight out to the harbor. We couldn’t get enough of the view. Stunning! The home is new, modern and the bathrooms are very nice. The deck is perfect for mornings on the deck with coffee and prayer. We loved loved our stay!
