We really enjoyed our time at the property. We had 6 adults total. The two rooms were great. There was also an air mattress that was pretty comfortable to use. The location is convenient and we had such amazing views. The kitchen was well stocked with plates and cookware so we were able to cook comfortably. There was also some snorkeling gear and an umbrella we borrowed to go to the beach. We will definitely try and stay again on our next trip out to Kona.

This is the third time our family has stayed at 2202 at Kanaloa. We love this property and all the amenities it offers. The condo itself is very beautifully appointed and the furnishings are comfortable and make for a relaxing stay. The property managers are top notch and very easy to work with and reach. My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary while we were there and the property manager left a box of chocolate covered macadamia nuts for us which was such a treat and was such a nice touch. The condo has everything you need for a wonderful stay. We love coming back here for all our vacations to Hawaii Island!

This is exactly how my family loves to vacation. The condo is very comfortable, the owners had all the supplies we needed. "Look there are whales blowing!" Binoculars were at the ready. "My back aches from the long flight." Heating pad and massage chair on hand. "Let's check out the snorkel beach nearby." Yup, snorkels and beach gear, including an umbrella and 2 boogie boards that we used at Hapuna. The place - and our overall vacation - just felt so easy.
The property has three pools, we used 2: the quiet and ocean-view. The unit is in great shape with bath and ceiling fans. We didn't need the AC. Kicteh has everything you need, even if you want to use a crock put or bake.
This is a great home base to enjoy the Big Island.

The views from this condo were stunning. I had my 60th birthday here with friends staying at different condos. My friends here especially loved this condo

My husband and I stayed in this condo for 6 days recently and the location and unit is awesome. The sounds of the ocean waves are amazing being located so close in proximity to the ocean and the unit itself was beautiful and very well stocked in the kitchen and plenty of towels, etc. in the bathrooms. Also, various items in the closets for use on the beach or just hanging out in the condo.

It was simply a fantastic 12 days on the lava rocks overlooking the sunsets on the Pacific Ocean. The space was perfect for us. The kitchen was well stocked with the basics, close to restaurants and shopping, as well as away from the hassle of the more crowded spaces in town, our favorite spot after the porch was the ocean swimming pool. Thank you for sharing your home.

Stayed here in Aug 2023 and it was wonderful. You just can't beat the truly oceanfront location! We had trouble with the A/C not working, but the property managers responded promptly to help us reset it (note: A/C works best when you keep the front closet open). The kitchen has been remodeled, coffee maker, toaster and microwave all very nice. The bedrooms have been remodeled too and the master bath which has this heated, lighted, automatic toilet we enjoyed. The furniture in the living room is awesome, sturdy and comfy (not the typical rattan style). We questioned the carpeted floors, but ended up liking them a lot. There were beach chairs and a smaller umbrella, and coolers provided. We found beach towels in the middle bathroom under the sink. The washer/dryer is very nice and soap was provided. We loved the condo and will definitely come back
A few cons, but super easy fixes... the wi-fi info provided was incorrect, so we got it off the modem; the kitchen needs more drinking cups and more than one of each basic cooking utensil (tongs, spatulas, stirring spoons, etc.); a notepad to jot down info and directions would be nice; and we really wished for boogie boards. Lastly with high-end units like this, we missed any kind of small, token welcome gift.
None of this is a big deal, and we still give this unit five stars!! We've stayed in several Kanaloa units and this is definitely one of the best, and close to the pools!

Enjoyed our stay very much, beautiful location on the coastline, well equipped. The staff of the Kimberley managing company were great. Even specially brought us coffee to brew. Only one issue to clarify - the sofa does not open up to a bed. The staff of the resort was not very helpful, but we relied on the managing company who were great (Abby +).

Mar 2022 - Booked on Vrbo for Dec 2022 trip. Was charged an initial deposit with remaining due in Oct.
Nov 2 2022 - Charged full amount (including the deposit I already paid in march). Got an invoice saying that the deposit will be refunded within 7-10 days of stay.
Dec 28 2022 - Jan 3 2023 - Stayed at property (spotted 4 roaches inside throughout and sent photo and video).
Jan 9 2023 - Called the property management for refund. They told me they will send it shortly.
Jan 18 2023 - Still no refund. Emailed property management about refund missing and roach issue (again).
Jan 18 2023 - Response from property management. "It was mailed out. You should be receiving it soon. Thank you for your feedback, the bugs have been taken care of."
Jan 24 2023 - Still no refund. Sent follow-up email "It has been a week since this email and i still have not received the check. Is there a tracking for it?"
No response since then.

We had a wonderful stay. You can't get more of a breathtaking view! Every morning waking up to the ocean was just spectacular!
The only reason I did not give a 4 star was the bedding and mattresses need replaced. All the beds need new comfortable mattresses. Also, what is needed, is new pillows and sheets.
Other than that, everything was lovely.
The management company was very responsive to our needs. We appreciated that very much. All in all it was a great stay!

We really enjoyed the location, the amenities of the unit and complex. We were captivated by the ocean and sat outside on the deck or the ocean pool just looking out at the waves. We also loved how well stocked the kitchen was. After being at a few other places with only enough cutlery and dishes for one family meal, it was nice to be able to run the dishwasher when it was actually full and not have to clean a knife every time you needed to use one. There were also things like salt, and spices to prpperly cook a meal. It is really expensive to eat out in here. There are a few really yummy restaurants right up the hill though. We also really appreciated the flexibility with a later check out, our flight was 10:30pm.
Thank you and as soon as we can we would book again.

We tested positive for Covid three days before our scheduled arrival and had to cancel, but our Taiwanese family stayed for 5 of 7 days of our booking. They experienced two days without potable water and at least one day of sewage stench (December 13 - 14). Otherwise, they enjoyed the property. I will not book this property again, and I won't recommend it to anyone else.

If you are coming to Hawaii I highly recommend this property since it is right on the ocean, worth every penny. Definitely dated in decor and furnishings, common to see rust and deterioration when on the ocean. Had all necessities needed, just could use more of a clean out and organization. No beach equipment except for one large folding chair, was told equipment would be purchased for the future. Enjoyed our stay.

Even better than advertised
Wonderful. Check in was a little dicey. Just checking out, so wish me luck.

Mesmerizing view
The condo had everything you might need, but the spectacular view from the lanai is unbeatable. We saw dolphins swim by in the morning and manta rays in the late afternoon.

Kanaloa Ocean Front
This is a very quiet clean place to stay in paradise on the big island. We were amazed at how well equipped the kitchen was. All the extras like coolers, chairs and snorkel fins meant we didn't have to go shopping for them. The only things I'd improve on would be to fix the DVD player and get the air conditioner to better distribute the cool air to the master bedroom. We had a marvelous time watching sunsets and eating breakfast on the lanai. We would definitely rent this unit again.

Loved this place!
Our family spent two weeks at thos condo and we had a fabulous time. The condo is clean, neat, and tidy. We had everything we needed to feel at home. It was great to be able to sit on the lanai and look at the ocean and watch the sunset every night. Our two boys were comfortable in the second bedroom with twin beds and my husband and I loved the king sized bed in the master. I would suggest getting better pillows however. We also do a lot of cooking so a new frying pan wouldn't hurt either. It might be nice to have a gear for beach to use as well. Overall we had a great time and will definitely return to this property.

Fabulous view -oceanfront
I love Kanaloa at Kona and was very excited to find this oceanfront ground floor condo to rent for the week. Everything was as expected. Property management was helpful when we had issues getting the tv to work. I love the view on the lanai. The only downside is that Keauhou is very humid and air conditioning costs extra at Kanaloa. We survived without it.

Can't beat Ocean Front!
We've been coming to the Big Island for vacations for over 20 years, and most of them have been spent at Kanaloa at Kona because of the privacy, beautiful grounds, 3 gorgeous pools and well-kept tennis courts. Condo #2202 is delightful with its lanai overlooking the ocean (close enough to almost catch the spray from a big wave) and spacious interior. This condo is equipped with virtually everything you could need. TWO coffee makers - one was a Keurig (had the custom filter you could fill with your own Kona coffee), blender, all the pots, pans and mixing bowls, even new cookie sheets! Several starter items were there such as spices, sugar, tea, coffee, cereal. Comfortable living room furniture and beds, plenty of beach towels and equipment.
This is far enough from the hub-bub of town, yet close enough to everything, including a great shopping center with good restaurants, sports bar, grocery store and movie theater. Keauhou Bay with the FairWinds snorkle cruise, and the Sheraton with night-time manta-ray viewing (free) are withing walking distance.
This condo is also priced very fairly and hopefully I haven't talked it into being unavailable the next time we come...

We decided to stay at Kanaloa because we had stayed there 17 years ago and loved the resort and its proximity to town. This being our 25th annervisity, we decided to splurge and rent an apartment right on the ocean. We are so happy we did. The apartment was wonderfully situated right on the ocean. We spent hours w atching sunsets, having breakfast and enjoying the boats going by every morning. The condo was very clean and spacious. The rental included all of the necessary necessities for our days at the beach. Snorkeling equipment , beach chairs and coolers were a life saver. We stayed for approximately 10 days and enjoyed every minute of it. The grounds were so well kept and the staff wonderful. Our hosts took care of a small problem with the TV immediately and were very cordial. We were able to use all of the facilities, including the tennis court which was clean and not utilized. We used all three pools and were a little bit bummed that the restaurant that was once at the ocean side pool had closed. We have a photo of my family by the ocean when we ate there 17 years ago. I loved this condo and I would recommend it to couples or families. We will try to get back to beautiful Kona again.

Beautiful location
Our family of 5 had a week of wonderful adventure and peaceful relaxation here. The accommodations were nice and the view was amazing on the lanai for watching sunsets. Good beds, bathrooms, and kitchen. Our only complaints were unreliable internet and the second TV in the bedroom didn't work. Overall, a great value on a shorefront condo in paradise. We would definitely stay here again.

a place we want to come back
We took my parents and the kids for a family reunion here. The view is fantastic. The location is quite convenient. There are plenty of different styles of beaches nearby, either for surfing or snorkeling. The kids love the swimming pools, they want to stay in the pool all day long. The condo is pretty well equipped, with beach chairs and surfing boards, etc. We had a wonderful time there. Definitely a place we want to come back.

Big Island stay July 2017
Overall this condo was great - very spacious, good amenities and a fantastic view off the lanai. The pools were great and the location was perfect for us. The condo was well stocked though it could have used a couple more good beach chairs and umbrellas (the one in the closet is small and broken so we didn't use it. Only negative was the washer/dryer - they are small, and even when you press maximum extract, the wash remained very wet and we had to spin it more than one cycle to get the wetness out before drying. The dryer was okay, but again, for heavier items we had to run it more than one cycle. Also, the kitchen and bathrooms could use some updating. There were a few bugs (ants and one cockroach) from time to time, but you'll have that on the Big Island so we were prepared. Keep your bread and cereals in the fridge and all is fine. Overall this was a good place for our family of two adults and two teens.

Great property!
This was a terrific condo for our Hawaiian vacation - spacious, great grounds, remarkable views from the lanai. We saw whales each day and appreciated that the unit was well stocked - including boogie boards, ice chest, spices, etc. Super bar-b-q's and pools, close to a lot, including running on Ali'i Drive, snorkeling at Kahalu'u, shopping and a number of farmers markets. CJ Kimberly was easy to work with; we hope to be back soon!

Oceanside Relaxation
This is our third visit to the Kanaloa Resort and is our favorite accommodation so far. We will definitely try to book this unit again. It is apparent that the paint is fresh and carpet is new. The kitchen is well equipped and the furniture is in good shape. Wonderful oceanfront location and easy walk to the oceanfront pool. Snorkeling available in close by bay.

Winter Get-away
We recently vacationed in this condo and found it to be very comfortable and well equipped. Our time spent there found this area to be very quiet and serene. The unit was very clean and we found that the only thing we were unable to find in the unit was a pair of scissors. There were even binoculars to watch the whales and the other activity on the ocean. We enjoyed our stay so much that we have booked it again for 2015.

Great location but needs TLC
This condo has a great location in Keauhou, but it is not stocked on par with similar ones we have rented over the years. The mattress in the master bedroom needs replacing. After returning home, a trip to a chiropractor was needed to recover from sleeping on it.
The carpets need a good cleaning.
Many small amenities usually supplied in other condos were simply missing, such as, BBQ utensils, ice chest (we bought one and left it), beach umbrella, salad spinner, etc.
This property is now under new management so we hope many of the issues we found will soon be resolved.

Improvement needed
This was a last minute trip to Kona. We booked this condo on Friday and arrived on Monday February 11, 2013. We paid for and were scheduled to stay at the condo for six nights. The condo has million dollar views and a good layout. If you are looking for a nice place to stay this is NOT it. The carpet is dirty and disgusting. The master bathtub is disgusting. We did not have hot water for over 24 hours so were unable to shower. Bring your own shampoo, conditioner and unless you like little bars of motel six soap I suggest you bring your own body wash. There were a total of three beach towels and the bath towels and wash cloths were worn out and insufficient in quantity. Personally, I do not want to do laundry for towels while on vacation. The photos showed that the condo is in need of an update and that was fine but, the stove is rusted and gross, the silverware is rusted. We had roaches in the kitchen, I had to clean the refrigerator when we arrived as it had hair in it, left over crusted food, half bottles of other peoples food, and the microwave burns the food before it is even finished cooking. The window frame was missing from one of the windows and you could see black moldy stuff on that wall, the extra blanket in the closet was worn and full of holes, the bedroom extra pillows were yellowed and the linens were thread bare and worn out, the lanai wet bar was filthy and not operational We paid for air conditioning and I had to call the property management to locate the key to unlock the unit. Ally was rude and informed me that the thermostate was on the wall. I had to explain to them how the unit works. They then found and brought out the key. They proceeded to let me know that locals don't use air conditioning ---- blah blah blah. Not our first time to Kona so I know that I want air conditioning. Fortunately, our family has a place close by so we cooked all of our meals there. After three nights we couldn't stand it anymore and left for the HIlton. When I called Ally to let her know we were departing early and the key was back in the lock box she did not even ask why we were leaving. We did not request any type of refund for our early departure. The owners and C.J. Kimerberly realtors have no regard for maintaining the property or ensuring that their guests have nice accommodations. Come on spend a couple hundred dollars and get some new linens, pillows and at least try to make it nice. Would never recommend or stay here again.
