House was as listed. Everything we needed. KC was a great host and built us a fire on our last night!! Would stay here again.

The property was immaculate and convenient to everything in Columbia Falls, Whitefish and Glacier National Park. We arrived to fresh flowers on the table and closeup encounters with deer and wild turkeys! KC, the owner, is on property, always available and respectful of guests’ privacy. She even built a fire for us in the fire pit on our last night. A+++ experience.

We had a group of two families (8 people total) and really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Glacier National was incredible, and the cabin was about a 25 minute drive from the West Entrance of the park. The cabin and surrounding grounds were beautiful, and the hosts were very welcoming and responsive. Thank you for the hospitality Holly and Team!

What a great place to call "home" on our visit to Glacier! The house was very clean and had all the supplies needed for our week-long visit. Nice extra touches like bottled water in the fridge, a jar of jam, and a bag of coffee. Owner was incredibly nice and accommodating and even offered to get a campfire going for us. She really takes pride in the house and it shows. Huge grocery store just minutes away, and the west entrance to the park about 30 minutes away. Would recommend to any family visiting Glacier.

Our family loved this beautiful home. It was so convenient to Glacier National Park and Whitefish. Beautiful, peaceful setting. Perfectly equipped with everything we needed. Check in instructions were easy to follow and we were greeted with fresh cut flowers on the table and a little welcome gift on the table. We highly recommend!

This home was truly beautiful, in a great location, very close to Columbia Falls, as well as to whitefish. A little over 30 minutes to glacier Park.
What made this visit so fantastic though, we’re all of the little things that were provided by our host. She had jelly on the table, a case of water in the fridge, bear spray available for use along with walking sticks, sparklers for 4 July, Coffee for the coffee maker, and so many small details and options were there and available. She truly made it feel like Home.
Biggest downfall was that there is only one shower. This is difficult when you have five adults hiking all day long. There is a second bathtub, and we did use this. She makes it clear that this is the case, so we went into it, understanding it. This is the only negative I could possibly bring up.
I would 100% recommend this location.

The house is beautiful inside and out. Quiet, great location. Beds were comfortable. We appreciated all the little extras (bear spray, cooler we could use, shampoo/ conditioner). We loved evenings relaxing on the wrap around porch/ deck. One of the best VRBOs we’ve ever stayed in!

The pictures don't convey how wonderful this home is. The property is on the edge of town, but you feel like you're miles out in the country. Fresh flowers, huckleberry jam and Montana coffee made our arrival even sweeter. The kitchen and bathrooms are very well stocked. Bear spray, hiking sticks, ice chest and numerous books/maps of the area were available. Beds and furniture are comfortable. Be sure to take time to experience the beautiful artwork throughout the home. We saw all kinds of wildlife including turkeys in the yard and deer & cattle across the creek under the apple trees. Sit out on the deck and watch the sunset - it's almost spiritual. Owner is on site and is very respectful of your privacy. Thank you, KC, for your hospitality. Your home is stunning and we can't wait to come up for another visit!

We enjoyed the location and the view of the apple orchard. We saw deer and turkeys and even a black bear the last night. The property was spacious and had everything we needed. Only complaint was a strong chemical smell in the basement area. Not sure if it was the carpeting but it either got better over the days or we got used to it.

Gorgeous log home with all the amenities. Very clean, great location, KC the owner was fabulous! She brought us a bouquet of red roses upon our arrival. Looking out of the living room we saw deer and wild turkeys every day. I can not think of one thing to help
Improve our stay. It was perfect!!

We had a really great visit. The location is convenient to west glacier and certainly makes for easy access to the many glacier hiking trails. The kitchen accessories were excellent and the mattresses were very comfortable. There is bountiful wildlife around the cabin that was a pleasure to observe

Couldn't have picked a better place to stay. The cabin was clean and comfortable! The owner provided everything we needed! The location was also in close proximity to Glacier National Park. I would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful property in a peaceful setting. The large wrap around porch and deck was our go to place every morning and evening with plenty of animals and nature watching. Located close to town, but you’d never know it when there. It was a home away from home. Amazing kitchen, we had many great evening meals when we got back from our days of adventuring. This is a special place and we are fortunate to have found it as it made our vacation so memorable.

Our trip was multigenerational. This property is a wonderful respite from a busy day of hiking in GNP. Saw wildlife everyday on the property. Beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need.

We liked everything about it. The location was excellent both in relation to the things we wanted to do and in its seclusion once off the main roads. KC made the check-in and check-out process easy. I arrived ahead of the others in my party so she let me leave my luggage on the porch before going to the airport to pick them up. She permitted the same in reverse on our departure. There were many switches controlling the lights and fans, but all the instructions were clear. The living room area was very spacious as was the kitchen, and well-stocked, too. We only had to shop for food, not coffee filters, dish soap, etc. We ate outside on the deck a few times, too. The cabin was was beautifully landscaped with many flowering plants at or very near full bloom. There were hummingbirds and a robin’s nest with eggs on one of the outside newel posts. It was a wonderful stay for us all and we recommend it to all.

Dark Horse Glen is a wonderful property, and everything was exactly as described in the listing. Our party of 8 (4 adults, 4 kiddos) had plenty of room. The kitchen/dining/living area was very spacious. We especially enjoyed all of the outdoor patio & deck spaces, for coffee in the morning and a glass of wine at night. Be aware there is only 1 shower, but we knew that going into it so we planned on it. Our kids enjoyed the local wildlife including a very friendly black cat. We took advantage of the grill and all of the kitchen amenities. A quick drive to a large grocery store. Very peaceful; owner is on site but we had all the privacy we needed. A beautiful home!

Didn't Want to Leave
Pulling up to this property after 8 hours on the road was surreal. Such beautiful architecture and stunning surroundings! There was just the four of us, so this place was ridiculously spacious for us, but we made use of every square inch. The king bed in the loft is dwarfed by the square footage up there! The basement was super-popular with our boys.
the 17-year-old chose "the cave" for his bedroom which had no windows; perfect for sleeping late into the morning. One of the deciding factors for staying here was that it is equipped with heat AND A/C. The temperature was easy to control and kept us all comfortable during some major swings in weather.
The main floor has beautiful furnishings, a huge kitchen, and those floor-to-ceiling windows! We couldn't look away. My favorite part of the stay was when I found that the owner had placed all the tools I needed to easily start our "campfire" on our last evening at the cabin. Very thoughtful of them and much appreciated. By the way, they also provided fantastic coffee beans, Huckleberry jam, and enough graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate for S'mores all week! You will love it here.

Rustic Slice of Heaven
We absolutely loved staying in KC’s beautiful log home. And you do feel like you’re a special and welcome guest there in someone’s actual home. The property is beautiful, the home is striking and it is well appointed with everything you could want.
There is plenty of room for a crowd. The finished basement has a huge bedroom with several beds and room for sleeping bags if you needed to accommodate more. Then a second room with another big bed and a bathroom. Upstairs is a beautiful 2 story great room and a well appointed kitchen with everything you need to cook or entertain at home. The top floor is a loft so be prepared for noise to travel especially if someone’s watching TV. Exceptional attention to shades/lighting/heat. And KC is very generous with the amenities. Including some lovely local treats.
Plenty of nice touches - toiletries kits, local soaps, local jams as a welcome gift. Plus games to play, maps of the park, bear spray, historical local books.
Location wise it worked great for us since we couldn’t get reservations in the park. 10 minutes from whitefish for great dinners, about 30 minutes from the park entrance. We couldn’t get timed tickets to get in to the going to the sun road before they officially opened the gates so got up at 4:30 one morning and drove in before they started checking tickets. Worth it!!
Grocery store 5 minutes away- super convenient. Had one day of (impending) rain and went ax throwing and to a maze/mini golf/ go kart place on the way towards whitefish.
KC is a wonderful host who makes you feel at home while invisibly giving you your privacy. Super fun to wake up and enjoy your morning coffee with lowing cows at the edge of the deck. Really lovely to hear the freight trains in the distance once you read KC’s story. We loved our stay!

Bright spot on a troubled trip
This cabin was the bright spot on a trip rife with other, unrelated troubles. The cabin is as described, and there are a ton of little added niceties that give an overall great experience from the stocked kitchen to the decorating touches that give a great Montana log cabin experience. The location is great and the setting is private. I highly recommend this property.

Montana Cabin
Three couples stayed at the cabin. The house has a spacious kitchen, family room and bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, but only one shower. There is a bath tub in the other bathroom. We took turns using the one shower and it worked out fine. There is a nice deck around the house and a outdoor propane fireplace. We saw deer, wild turkeys, and a grizzly bear out in the meadow! The house was clean and well stocked with supplies including bear spray and walking sticks, kitchen utensils and condiments, bedding and personal care items. We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this cabin. It is within a short driving distance to Glacier National Park as well as restaurants and grocery store.

Great Cabin
We had a great stay! We saw deer every night in the grove of apple trees behind the house. It was about a 30 minute drive to the West entrance of Glacier. We cooked most of our meals, and the kitchen was well appointed.

Great place to stay
The Dark Horse Glen property was a perfect place for us to stay while visiting Glacier National Park. It was our ‘home away from home’. The kitchen is fully stocked and the extra touches (scented soap, roses, case of water in the fridge) were really nice. Would definitely recommend this property!

One of the best VRBOs I’ve ever stayed at. The house has a fully stocked kitchen with everything you could possibly need. They porch was the best spot for relaxing after the days adventures to Glacier National Park and Whitefish Mtn Resort. The wildlife around the property was abundant! House is spacious and beautifully decorated….totally the Montana Lodge feel. Highly recommend this one!

Fantastic Place!
We were visiting Glacier National Park for a wedding and wanted a place our family could stay together. This was a beautiful home with 3 great bedrooms! The host had provided everything we needed during our stay, including bear spray. Luckily we didn’t need to use it! The beds were super comfy and there was a great wrap around deck. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay again!

Wonderful trip
We loved our stay at dark horse glen in columbia falls. The beautiful home was comfortable and clean and had terrific views of the mountains and wildlife. We saw deer and turkeys from the front porch everyday. My kids loved having room to play soccer games in the front yard. We would definitely stay there again.

Quiet and comfortable stay
This house was perfect for our family of 5 (would comfortably fit more). We had plenty of space to stretch out after long days at Glacier and Whitefish or rafting down Flathead River. The beds are comfortable and the house was very clean. The kitchen has everything needed to cook meals at home. The cabin is actually surrounded by woods with a couple houses on the property. It was very quiet. The only “con” is we were not able to get WiFi or internet to work except a couple random occasions. This could easily be a plus for those that want to unplug in Montana. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice stay, close to Glacier National Park
Nice, spacious home about 30 minutes from the west side of Glacier. Comfortable with plenty of room. There was a heat wave when we stayed so the basement bedrooms were nice and cool to sleep in.

Beautiful, peaceful, cozy home!
The house was wonderful! This is a peaceful property to read or have coffee on the deck before heading to Glacier National Park. We saw deer and turkeys from the deck. We brought our own pack n play and high chair for the baby. All bedrooms are accessed by stairs, but worth it! We would definitely stay here again!

We were visiting Glacier National Park as part of a National Park trip for my Moms 70th birthday trip. We had been planning the trip for nearly a year. The Dark Horse Glen is absolutely beautiful and cozy. It was spotless and had all the amenities you could possibly need. We cooked every meal and packed lunches for the day. KC the owner was nearby and very helpful and fun. She even saved us from a bear one evening when we were having a fire outside. (PS- weTexans aren’t in for meeting bears at night so KC was nice enough to come and let us know of a nearby sighting. We quickly took our gathering inside!) The location is perfect if you want a little elbow room from lodge type facilities and it’s close to the west entrance of GNP. There were deer and wild turkey every day outside the back window. We watched as we had our morning cup of joe. There were also some thoughtful gifts left on the table when we arrived. The bed in the loft was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept on!!! I slept through the night every day we were there. It was a little disappointing to come back home to my bed and we have a very good mattress. The other thing great about the locaToon is it’s close enough to Whitefish for a quick trip or dinner. It’s also very close to a great grocery store and down the road from a liquor Store. This place is also well suited for a family with children. Mom and Dad on the top floor and all the kids on the bottom basement floor. We would definitely come back and stay here again. The only thing I’d make note of for older folks: if you have a hard time with stairs this may not be the best place. The upstairs bedroom doesn’t have a bathroom and if you had to come down at night, it might be a problemgroggy and all. Otherwise let them stay downstairs with the other bathroom. Loved the claw tub on the main floor.
