About this apartment rental
The apartment (check in between 2 pm and 7.30 pm. (Late check in will be charged) is situated just outside the village of Positano in Parco dei fiori, a peaceful position but within easy reach of the city centre with its typical narrow streets and shops, adorned with colourful local artisan ceramics and fabrics. To reach the house you walk down 130 steps, which is not unusual in Positano, but it’s worth it!
Not to be under estimated is the value of the private parking that this condo offers, being a rarity on the Amalfi Coast.
The shared swimming pool is in an incredibly panoramic position with a 180° view (it is open from May 15 to October 15. Daily opening from 10 to 7 pm). House is ideally situated for those who prefer not to have their own transport (obviously for the more energetic, taking into consideration the characteristics of the Amalfi coast), there is in fact, just opposite this condo a local bus which passes every 60 minutes and will take you down to the centre of the village
Positano is famous all over the world for its narrow and picturesque streets, white houses, bougainvillea flowers and restaurants.
These places are full of importance for the architectural and historical heritage, as the buildings in Arab-Sicilian style or the wonderful villas of the ancient and noble families.
Positano has preserved the typical aspect of a seafaring village, with its staged terraces descending toward the sea, and houses in the characteristic cubic shape, separated by narrow little streets most of which are marked with steps.
The backbone of the area is Viale Pasitea, which is an extremely windy street. The small Flavio Gioia square, from which one can enjoy a magnificent view, is the centre of the town: it is overlooked by the church of Santa Maria Assunta, with its great majolica cupola decorated with geometric patterns.
From the square one goes down to the beach of the Marina Grande, the so-called Spiaggia Grande. On the other side of the town, looking west, the beach of Fornillo opens out just beyond a tract of rocky coast. To the east of Positano lie the beaches of Arienzo and Laurito.
The area surrounding Positano is full of extremely attractive spots. Near Punta Germano the coastal road takes you over a deep crack in the cliff with a precarious little bridge, called “Ponte dei Libri” (Bridge of Books). The name comes from the regular stratification of the rocky walls, which look like the leaves of enormous tomes superimposed on one another and which one can see better by climbing down the valley along a path.
Leaving Positano for Amalfi, the road runs high above the sea, passing the two charming villages of Montepertuso and Nocelle on the left. On the slopes of Monte Sant' Angelo in Tre Pizzi, stands the imposing “Arco Naturale”, which is particularly beautiful in the morning as the rays of the rising sun fall upon it. Near Punta San Pietro is found the eponymous church which commands a grand and truly splendid view of the coast and the island of Capri, which can be seen protruding from behind Punta Campanella. From Positano trips can be made to Monte Sant'Angelo in Tre Pizzi and Monte Comune, while you can also test your own strength in an arduous climb down the steep spurs which fall sharply away to the sea.
How to get to Positano:
Fly to Naples - casa Mariano is at 56 km from the airport. Cheap flights available with Easyjet.
From the airport you can reach Positano
By car: take the Statale 163 (State Highway 163), which runs along the southern side of the Sorrentine peninsula to Salerno, is better known as the Amalfi Drive. From Naples via the A3 Autostrada to Castellammare di Stabia, which is on the northern side of the Sorrentine peninsula and is linked to Sorrento farther west by Statale 145. Beyond Sorrento, Statale 145 winds westward around the tip of the peninsula and returns eastward along its southern edge as Statale 163 - the Amalfi Drive. The road is a concrete ribbon that rewards visitors with mountain-meets-sea views at every turn, but driving it, as well as the narrow hairpin roads of the Sorrentine peninsula, can be both a joy and a challenge. Medium-size cars are a good compromise.
By public transportation: From Naples you need to take a taxi or bus to the railway station at Piazza Garibaldi.
Travel time about 75' min by taxi - approximately €150,00. (up to 6 people)
The cheapest solution from Naples is 'Napoli Centrale', in Piazza Garibaldi, where on a lower level you can get the Circumvesuviana local train to Sorrento (60' min, ticket fare 12,00€).
In Sorrento, close to the station is the 'SITA' bus stop to Positano (60' min, ticket fare 1,80€).
How to reach Positano from Sorrento
From Sorrento, you can take the Sita bus to Positano. The Sita bus station faces the exit of Circumvesuviana. There is a newsstand nearby where to buy your ticket. You should buy bus tickets before you get on the vehicle. When you board the bus, validate your ticket in the yellow machine located at the front.
Once in Positano
You can access casa Mariano directly from the parking lot (parking for one car IS INCLUDED IN THE RENTAL FEE), walking through a path made up of alleys and steps (130 steps from parking place to the house).
The Swimming pool is available from May 15 to October 15.
The living room is cozy and pleasantly furnished: it has a sitting zone -with armchair, television and fireplace - and a kitchen, well equipped, with dining table and chairs. Air condition available here.
From the corridor, you reach the night area. There're 3 bedrooms, two are matrimonial and the third is double (it has 2 single beds). One of the matrimonial bedrooms has en-suite bathroom. All bedrooms have a ceiling fan.
The second bathroom can be accessed from the corridor.
Furnishings are elegant and precious. Rooms are spacious, airy and cozy.
Distance from the main beach is 20 min walking, or you can take a bus just outside the gate of the property and get there sooner.

This apartment was perfect for our group of friends. As mentioned there are a number of steps to get to the apartment from the road, but it is manageable. The views are incredible and our apartment had a large private terrace, which was a pleasant surprise! The apartment was well stocked with much needed appliances like washer, iron, drying rack, hair dryers. Overall a great experience!

Amazing on all levels. Be prepaired for stairs tho.

We are 3 adults. We stayed 4 days. The villa is beautiful and has an amazing view of Positano. The villa is high up on the hill so we took taxis a lot and Mauritzio and Simona were very helpful. Salvatore was very helpful in planning private excursions and drivers for us. I would definitely recommend this villa.

We had a great stay at this property. Plenty of room for a family of 5. The views from the very spacious private balcony were wonderful. The pool was very enjoyable after a day out in the summer heat. The local restaurant Da Costantino was only a 5 min walk & was excellent. The mini market was also a short walk & had everything you need for your stay & offers free delivery. Mariano was very pleasant to deal with & communicated well.

This property is amazing!! Has everything you will need. Our stay was so comfortable and our host was so accomodating and friendly. We can't wait to return. Oh and the view!! Breathtaking! Tons of transportation and walking is a must. Bring lots of comfortable shoe's and the pool is amazing

Great apartment with spectacular views and a very clean shared pool. Very easy check in - Salvatore was very quick to respond to any queries. Highly recommend!

Cant go on enough about the view! Also cant go on enough about the assistance from Salvatore! He helped us in so many ways that had nothing to do with the property- but in eating and getting around! LOVED the outdoor shower as well. Zero complaints. Perfection!

We loved the pool, patio and condo. The stairs and distance from the town center were tough for us as we had an 82 year old, 3 year old and 3 month old in our group. But the accommodation was amazing so we spent a lot of time in.

We had a wonderful stay at the Vernazza apartment. It had everything we needed, checking in was easy. We loved the patio and how easy it was to walk down to the beach and shops but it didn’t feel too busy where we were. It was a great spot and we would love to return someday!!

We took our four adult children with us to Positano and couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay! It was perfect for the six of us and the view was outstanding! We also enjoyed the swimming pool!

Wonderful family trip to Positano with breathtaking views!we will be back !

If you’re looking for a place with the best view in all of Positano, this is it!! We were in awe every day when we got to sit on the terrace and take in the views of the city below, and we loved every minute of our stay.
I think there are a few important things to know, though I have to stress these did not negatively impact our stay in any way. The house sits above the main part of Positano (hence the views!), so you need to be pretty fit and willing to take a lot of stairs to get where you are going. There is also a bus stop nearby, but the buses were always quite crowded. There’s a great restaurant across the street as well as a small supermarket. The house itself is fairly basic and smaller than we were expecting in terms of the common living area. However, this did not matter at all since we spent 99% of our time outside. The house sits right above the shared pool, which is huge and refreshing. There are several rules which must be followed to use it, including having to wear swim caps.
Communication with both Salvo and Mariano was seamless. Any requests or questions we had were attended to immediately, and we felt right at home. I would come back here in a heartbeat and hope to do so one day!

We had the best stay in Positano and this place played a huge role in our enjoyment! The second we saw the view from the patio our hearts stopped. It has to be the best view in Positano - you can see everything! We cannot think of a bad thing to say about this apartment and we never wanted to leave. Great hosts, great recommendations, super responsive, beautiful spot. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Loved the location and view. Easy bus access. Wonderful nearby restaurant, best food we had in Positano, ate there one night and ordered out and had dinner on our lovely patio. Amazing views, loved the patio. We did have an ant problem but owner sent someone to spray. Could use a new sofa. Loved the apartment but felt it seemed a bit “tired” as compared to the photos. However, it was perfect for what we needed.

Really nice overall, the view is extraordinary and the villa is close to the center of the city. The host was easy to communicate with and really accommodating. Only negative was the 130 steps to make it to the villa that was quite difficult to see in the villa information.

What a wonderful place! The terrace had the most amazing views. We loved being able to start and end our days sitting out there. Mariano was great and always prompt with responses and recommendations. There was a small grocer and great restaurant across the street which was very convenient. Be prepared for all the steps, but well worth it!

The view was the main attraction but the rest of the house met or exceeded expectations. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. Thanks Mariano!!

The Host was TOTALLY accessible and responsive, which was awesome. The place is comfortable, large and cute in its own way.
Yes. there are stairs to get to the place. We were a group of 4, ages 65-76, and all able to manage. So, you can do it!

Pros:
1) Fabulous view overlooking the city of Positano and harbor.
2) Staff present on site to help with check-in, recommendations, transporation etc.
3) Modest-price restaurant with a beautiful view that is a 2-minute walk from the front gate.
4) Scooter rental on property. This was the highlight of our trip. We rented scooters for the day and road down the Amalfi Coast. Spectacular day and so convenient to pick up and drop off on-site.
5) Large patio with tables, chairs, and recliners to relax and enjoy the spectacular view
6) Positano is not a cheap vacation get away so if you are on a tight budget you may not want to stay in this town. However, this place was a great value for this city,
7) The shops and beaches near the port can be extremely crowded. This place is a great oasis, allowing you to escape from the crowd while still staying connected to all the beauty in Positano.
Cons:
1) Pool has lots of rules. If you plan to spend time there, make sure you are comfortable with agreeing to the rules before you book.
2) If you have physical disabilities or don't like to walk and exercise, this may not be the best location for you. On the property, there are significant elevation changes, and getting to and from shops and restaurants, it is best if you are healthy and willing to hike up stairs. We counted close to 1,000 stairs from the beach to the door of our unit but we enjoyed every one!

The property was gorgeous and super private. We loved the terrace all to ourselves. When I saw this listing I thought that space was shared! Be aware - it’s high up in Positano so it’s hard to get to and from down town as the bus schedule was not accurate or on time. You also need to wear a swim cap in the pool which was funny. Overall great stay and lots of space for my group.

The shower stall was very small and the curtain constantly touched us. Not to mention the curtain was also very dirty and red from growth of bacteria on the surface. There was also mold on the shower grout. The bathrooms also had an odor that would not go away. There AC was also not that powerful, and the unit remained a bit steamy. 24 hours prior to leaving, we asked for luggage service to bring luggage up stairs leaving since it was a service they provided but host’s associate went MIA. Luggage person arrived without warning after we had already brought all our bags up, very unprofessional. There was also an ant issue (first day being there), which management didn’t take care of. Management made it sound like it was us but we havent even been there for a full day and it was all in the toaster. They said they would bring ant bait but never did. We were able to take care of the ant problem ourselves by thoroughly cleaning (something the cleaners should have done) and we had no ant priblems the rest of our stay. For the amount we paid for this place, we expected the cleaning to be much better.

A lot do stairs to get to the unit but the views from the terrace are well worth it! Plenty of space for our group of 6.

Check-in went smoothly, and they were very accommodating for our specific time needs. This is a condo for people who are in shape and don’t mind climbing multiple steps. If you don’t have a car getting to the beach can be a challenge. There is bus service however, during peak season you’re lucky to be able to get on the bus because of overcrowding. If you are in shape, you can take the stairs down, but expect a challenge returning at the end of the day. If you choose not to venture down to the beach, the pool and deck are quite pleasing with stunning views. The water is perfect for swimming laps, slightly chilly. We could’ve used some body soap for the shower. The kitchen amenities worked well Our private deck was spacious and included, luxurious views of the sea. There is also a wonderful tree that shaded us when we ate our meals outside.

Amazing spot in Positano with incredible views. Top of the mountain so prepare to climb stairs - it’s an experience. Hosts were great and responsive. Restaurant and market very close, house was fully stocked! Can’t complain!!

We took our family to Positano and wanted a place with a pool and great views. The house was great and was in a decent area. Walking distance to a great restaurant and close to the bus. The house was great and in a secure and gated community. Perfect place for our family. Would defintley stay again.

We had a great stay at Casa Mariano! It was exactly as described and exactly what we were after. We needed very little but the communication with Mariano was clear and efficient. The many reviews here were quite helpful and we agree with nearly everything that's been repeated by previous guests. The nearest restaurant, Ristorante Da Costantino, was indeed a hidden gem and was our family's undisputed favorite pizza in Italy! It also serves as a nice location/reference point for describing the location of the villa. The restaurant or "Parco dei Fiori" are both better descriptions than the actual address. Good luck and enjoy!

Mariano was such an awesome host. He responded to all of my questions before we got there. Luca met us their and checked us in. It was easy. Like others have mentioned LOTS of stairs but worth it. The view was AMAZING! it was everything we expected and more. The kids only went into the pool once (very strict) but we can respect that. We had to buy pool caps (4 for 12 E). It is about 15 minutes to walk down to the center, all downhill. They did have public transportation but we went in high season the buses were jammed packed and the lines were brutal in the August summer heat. We would walk down then we would take a taxi up so not the most cost effective but we couldn't deal with the lines, 40 E to go up. We spent 4 days and 3 nights. The first day we stayed in the apartment till dinner time and drove to Piratas in Priano (highly recommend) the food and view was amazing. About a 15 minute drive. Keep in mind driving along the cliff. My husband crew up driving in these kind of streets but its a bit scary. The following day we walked down and we checked out the town, went to the beach (bring water shoes), we didn't do a beach club it was any where from 60 E for 2 chairs/umbrella. We went to public beach. We had reservations, Da Adolfo (highly recommend) they pick you up in a boat. We had dinner across the street from apt. Constatino (RSVP) it was delicious, beautiful view! we went to market 2 min walk from apt and liquor store 2 min away! HIGHLY REC!

Our family of six (four children 10-15yo) spent five days at this vrbo and had an incredible experience. The description is accurate in every detail. We chose this location in part bc of the pool- which was amazing and appeared to be unique (we didn’t see many other in positano.) The kids enjoyed swimming- it was great end to our day/adventure.
Just as the description explains- downtown positano is absolutely walkable from the vrbo. We walked down every single day and walked back up every single evening. Although this was a workout, it was a highlight of our trip. (Exploring the area and finding the best routes.) It also helped us walk off all the gelato. We all agreed it would not have been as fun without the steps. There is a bus that can bring you back up but we never used it.
We LOVED the view from the terrace and the outdoor shower. No one ever showered inside bc it was so spectacular to have that view… especially at night.
The kitchen is fully functional with everything you could need to cook.
There is an AMAZING restaurant a stones throw from the entrance- we had several meals their and the view is breathtaking. (Pizza ranked top three best spots in all of positano.)
There is air conditioning in the main room but not the bedrooms. However each bedroom has a fan and with the air on and doors open- it was perfect. Ie- No a/c needed in bedrooms. We never needed the air conditioning by day.
Lucas was a great person to contact when we needed help. A+ thank you

Beautiful views, nice community pool. Be prepared for lots of steps to explore city center or reach the beach or plan to utilize taxis/busses to get around. Area is great with small market down the street and a restaurant right across the street. Certainly a great option for staying in Positano.

We loved the villa, it is exactly as advertised and the views are just spectacular! The steps are a killer and not for the faint hearted. We will have fond memories of our stay here and can understand that you would try and stay local if staying here because of the long way down. The 2 restaurants close by Da Constantino and Ce'ra in a Volta have great food at reasonable prices and we loved la Tagliata experience too. The pool access is great relief in this heat. Thank you Mariano for your lovely Villa!

It has everything you need. The outdoor space is amazing. The beds are comfortable. The showers are small. The owner and management are very accommodating. The bus stop is close by that takes you into town. We went during high season and most of the time the busses were full so we had to walk to town which was not bad. I recommend taking the bus back.

My family group of six (two parents, two 18-year-olds and two 19-year olds) stayed in this apartment June 28 - 30, 2023. This was everyone's favorite accommodation from our two-week trip. The view from the balcony is unbeatable! There is a large tree on the balcony that gives much needed shade. This apartment was our respite from the heat and chaos in the city center. We ate dinner two of our three evenings on the balcony and we played cards every night on the balcony. It is close to the bus stop and within walking distance of a good restaurant. The pool was clean and large. The only suggestion we have is for the pool to stay open a little later - it closed at 6:00pm on weekdays. It would have been nice if it closed at 7:00pm. Booking was easy, host communication was good, and Salvatore was amazing at check-in and during our stay. He helped us with insider information on using the buses, where to shop, and where to eat. He even made a dinner reservation for us one night. We met a couple from Australia at the pool and they also praised Salvatore. We cooked breakfast one morning and the kitchen had everything we needed. There were a lot of steps to get to the city center, but we didn't mind. The view (and cool breeze) from the apartment balcony made up for the steps. Note - the steps are for real, there are a lot of them. We walked down and took the bus or taxi back up. If we could give more than 5 stars, we would!

We loved every aspect of this house. It had all the modern amenities (e.g., AC, coffee maker, microwave), location, views, excellent communication/check-in and chef.

We stayed for 4 nights in May 2023. The apartment was exactly as described, and fulfilled all the requirements we had. Highly recommend hiring the chef, Claudio, to come prepare a meal for your visit one night!

If you are going to Positano, this is the place. No better view in the city. Mariano was fantastic throughout the process! Don’t fret over the steps since a porter is available (and we’ll worth the €10). Ask Mariano for the contact info for Claudio. Amazing chef who will come and cook a dinner if your choice. He is remarkable as a person and chef and made that night an absolute highlight of our three week trip. Bud is easy to catch downtown but there are also two taxi drivers in the complex who will not gouge like those in town. Don’t forget to eat at Costantino’s right across the street. Family run and the owner is a gem. Have to give a shout out to Lucas the porter/pool guy/infopedia. Great guy! Thank you Mariano for making this trip a joy!!

Great stay here! The place was clean, beds comfortable and amazing views (since we were high up). Communication with the host was great and the check in process was easy and they were super helpful. The host even gave us info for a private chef who cooked up a fabulous 3 course meal one of the nights it was pouring rain so that worked out really well! Just make sure to bring your own toiletries as none were provided

The terrace on this property with the views was spectacular! We had a chef come to the house (thank you Mariano for arranging the chef) one evening and ate dinner outside - this was one of our favorite evenings! The description of house of the house was accurate. Mariano was a pleasure to correspond with and he was very efficient and punctual! I would recommend this house to others.

We had a wonderful stay everything it stated was accurate, spacious unit , parking spot, unit was clean, communication was great!

Clean property. Excellent view. Well equipped. Good communication. If searching for address put in da Constanio restaurant as it is almost across the street from it. iPhone map led us to another house down the road.
Stairs are mentioned. Bring a swimming cap if you want to use pool or you have to buy one(which seems excessive after shower) . Parking a plus. Buses crowded in busy season. We walked up and down. Good exercise if you are fit but you must like walking.
