We dont require all the frills of a hotel, so bring your own shampoo and hairdryer if you need one. Our cabin was stocked ok. Frig and coffee pot...nice little deck out front. Bring deet in the summer. We enjoyed ourselves.

Very nice accommodations. Excellent communication with check in and arrival.
Perfect location between Cooper Landing & Soldatna. Comfortable Cabin with furnished kitchen, spacious bathroom and private sleeping areas. Highly recommend.

The cabin was well supplied and with 2 bedrooms and the loft could have held more people than just my husband and me. Max communicated with us very well during the booking process and before our stay. Just 15 minutes from Soldotna and close to our son’s house, it was a perfect location for us. We recommend it.

Owner was very helpful with everything. Since he owns a charter service, we didn't have to look anywhere else for a fishing trip.

The Cabin was decent. We were there when it was a little chilly. The refrigerator stopped working when we were there and the oven is very slow. Overall you got what you paid for.

When we booked this cabin for 8 of us all the pictures were not included correctly, it was much smaller then the pictures showed then we realized they put all the pictures for both cabins they have on the same booking site! Beware the power was off more then it was on! They had lots of generator issues and when it did come on would barely run the fridge and lights always were dim..our fish never froze very upsetting but they didn't seem to care just said we are working on it! Had to get coolers & lots of ice for our fish.there is some outside freezer space gor a cost but again the power goes out regularly !! VERY Concerning there was live exposed high voltage wires on the side of the cabin we satyed in ..in a open box very unsafe.. No smoke detectors in the cabin and the heating sourse was plugged in heat runners not safe & the little propane stove shown in the pictures doesn't work Max informed us when we checked in!! Very sketchy how this place operates especially the power problem very concerning..
But we loved Alaska

This cabin's location in Sterling is great, because it is really easy to take "day trips" to anywhere on the Kenai peninsula. We took day trips to Homer, Seward, and Cooper landing. Our VRBO Host, Max, was available and responsive via cell phone.

Perfect for a long weekend
This was a cute little cabin that is very convenient to both Sterling & Soldotna. Pretty rustic, no frills and nothing fancy, but comfortable and a fun Alaskan experience.

Not What It Seems
We were surprised to discover that the cute, rustic cabin we had rented had no hot water. There was a hot water heater outside the cabin that was not hooked up. The cabin is located at the edge of a pond that was teeming with mosquitos. We were told to make sure the cabin door stayed closed to keep out the mosquitos. In addition, and very disconcertingly, we discovered that the electricity to the cabin consisted of several extension cords dropped from various points into different rooms. We were afraid to stay at the property for fear use of the electricity would start a fire. I talked with the very kind manager/staff member who said that they would give me a full refund. She was very helpful, checking to see if another place had vacancies. The other place featured actual log built cabins with hot water and properly installed electricity. We enjoyed the second property and wished we had known about it sooner.

We had a great labor day weekend. The cabin was cozy and at a great location. We were able to fish in Sterling, Cooper Landing and Seward. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you Max for a great weekend.

Right for the price.
Fished all day and just hung out at the cabin. Cabin was comfortable and clean.
Laundry was very clean. There are several long time campers who were very friendly and helpful. Only recommendation would be to fix the leaking faucet in kitchen and shower. Thanks for the stay max

Campground location
The cabin was clean , WiFi was “iffy” sometimes you had it and sometimes not, which meant sometimes the TV worked and sometimes not 🙁. Very few kitchen amenities - making it hard to prep a meal. Would have been nice to know this cabin was located at a campground. Shirley was very nice and did her best to accommodate!

Kylie cabin
Overall, I would not recommend for a family. The toilet seat seemed to be 20 years old, looked very dirty. The bathtub and bathroom sink needs to be fixed because water will not go down right away. Nails sticking out from various sides of the stairs. Ahead of time I asked the owner that we would exceed the amout of people that i booked for, not once responded that he was okay exceeding the number of booked guests. So we assumed he was ok with it,only to find out when we got there that we needed to pay an additional $400 plus for exceeding guest limit. Vrbo site said nothing about paying for additional people nor did the owner. And apparently,if you book through Vrbo, they have a different policy from the actual owner's policy. We over paid on the cabin and was not worth it at all.

Cozy cabin
Nice property! Clean and comfortable. They were very accommodating with our late arrival! Washer and dryer on location but not in cabin! Only short walk to very nice washers and dryers!

Nice but needs updates
The check in was super easy. Cabin was ready when we got there.
The cabin is older and in need of some repairs and updates. But we felt safe and above all the place was clean. Towels were musty, but plenty of them and soap and shampoo.
Internet was easy to access and good signal.
Biggest hang up other than the needed updates and repairs was the lack of coffee maker. There were filters and cups but no machine. Kinda a tease. Lol

It’s a cabin in a rv campground.
Great little cabin. Very small. Small bedrooms upstairs is roomy. Worked well for us.

Disappointment
This was the cabin we were to stay in, BUT apparently it had water problems and we were placed in a different building. The unit appeared to us to be an construction trailer, that was remodeled. It was clean, had the 2 bedrooms we had request. Our main concern was that there were no keys to lock the doors. We had text the host to explain, she said keys were on the hook. There was a key ring, but no keys. We went to the office in the morning, but no one was there.. We had talked with a gentleman at
the campground, Daniel, and he gave us a padlock off his storage shed. We did not hear from or see
the host about the locks.
We were looking for a cabin setting, and were placed in a trailer, with views of a doublewide trailer and piles of junk.
We believe Daniel was maybe a handyman for the campground. He was very helpful, from taking care of the lock problem to directions and ideas for our site seeing. He was a life saver. The whole experience would have worse if not for Daniel.
We feel there should be some type of reimbursement for our inconvenience. We would like to pass on this is a campground for fisherman, and not really for couples.

Cottage is very very nice
The cottage was clean and comfortable , it has a couple of small bedrooms downstairs and a loft up stair for more guests, nice kitchen and has a gas fireplace in the living area. very quiet and peaceful , we were impressed.
The owners have an outdoor equipment rental company so they have canoes, kayaks, rafts and boats for the hundreds of local lakes and the kenai river. They have the stand up paddle boards also. We used their bikes and rode those in the area also , the nearest restaurant is about 1/4 mile away and the river is about a mile.
the cottage was stocked with plenty of nice towels and the beds are nice and made up really cute. Everything we expected we are happy to report we recieved.
nice family and they live on the same 5 acre property.
We even saw a moose walk thru the trees near the cottage.

wonderful stay
We had read a review that was not that great , but it was the opposite experience for my wife and 2 kids and I
the cabin was just perfect. we stayed for 4 nights and fished with the guide that lives near the cottage.
we caught salmon and trout. It was a great stay and the furnishings are really nice.

A little misleading
Well first of all not all the amenities actually work . The tv is actually not hooked up yet so you can't watch it the fireplace is also not connected to the exaust . It's all there just don't expect to use it . Lack of overall communication with regards to dog policy . We were stopped in the morning by a lady claiming to be the girlfriend of the owner telling us dogs are not allowed in the cabin. I had corresponded with the owner and wrote we were bringing a dog prior to approval and they approved me . Also no one actually knew I had paid so not sure if they know what they are doing . Also I gave the key to this guy because their main office was locked on check out, hope he was the owner.
