About this house rental
Located one block from scenic 17-Mile Drive, this cozy 2-bedroom + den bungalow is walking distance to the beach, golf, and downtown. Stroll to Lover's Point and hop on the coastal recreational trail to commune with sea, sky and sea lions. Or head a few blocks into town for breakfast at the Red House Cafe, or dinner at top-rated Passionfish or Fandango.
Named after the owner's extensive boat collection, this single story home has a fireplace, hardwood floors, and a peek of Monterey Bay. There's a king bed in the master, two standard twins (38"x75") in the guest room, and a new queen sofa sleeper in the study. Both baths have walk-in showers lined in travertine. The backyard brick patio has a barbecue, a chiminea, and a rose garden: if you like to be close to town and close to nature, you'll feel right at home here.
From the annual Butterfly Parade to the apple trees around Caledonia Park, there's a reason Pacific Grove is called "America's last hometown." A more casual—but no less charming—alternative to Carmel, Pacific Grove is a seaside enclave of restored Victorians and beach bungalows. And the walkable downtown has something for everyone: boutiques, galleries, antique and consignment shops, a cinema, a bookstore—and too many coffeehouses to count.

First time to Monterey and Pacific Grove. The house was very warm and comfortable, enhanced by the gas fireplace. Fully equipped and the best shower ever! Located near the shoreline and the downtown area. Great walking and biking paths along the coast, easily accessible from the house. Highly recommend for a great Monterey stay.

Overall the house was perfect for our needs and a short walk to the perkins park path where we clocked many walking miles for our month stay. We would book this house again.

Everything we needed!
We stayed five weeks to get away from Wisconsin winters and our stay was wonderful. The house had everything we needed, and was comfortable. The down comforter was very cozy. Kitchen had all we needed. Garage was spacious and had extras in it such as beach chairs etc. We loved sitting on the back patio and listening to the waves from a few blocks away. PG had tons of restaurants, and Monterey was very close nearby with the wharf and a ton of shopping and restaurants. Roy's at Pebble Beach and the Lodge are just down the road on 17 mile drive. We saw whales from shore, and nearly every day saw sea otters in the ocean close to shore doing their thing. I'd return any time.

For 28 days, my wife and I enjoyed a wonderful 28 day stay from mid-February to mid-March, 2020. The Boathouse was cozy and inviting with all of the amenities one could possibly want! It seemed like everyday was sunny & 62 degrees as we took our daily walk along Monterey Bay on Oceanview/Sunset Drive. When we wanted to switch things around, we would drive 15 minutes to walk on Camel Beach and Scenic Road in Camel. And/or......drive 20 minutes to walk and hike at Point Lobos. We also enjoyed The Boathouse being minutes away by foot from downtown Pacific Grove where we made regular stops at Pavel's Backerei and The Bookworks on Lighthouse Ave. Big thank you to Debra and Monterey Rentals for excellent coordination and communication. With the COVID-19 crisis, we did have to leave 9 days early yo return home. However, we look forward to returning in the future to pick up where we left off! FIVE STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best MBR house in Pacific Grove.
Our 4th stay at Boathouse for four weeks in Jan./Feb. to escape East Coast winters. House is extremely comfortable and has all the "must haves" on our list. Although we eat at many of the great restaurants in the area, this time we did more cooking at the house using the full range of the up to date appliances and kitchen ware. Plenty of time to read, rest, sit in front of the gas fireplace and walk along the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Staff is always friendly and responsive. Although we will miss being at the house, when we return home we sing praises to our family and friends.

Cozy house
This charming, small house was perfect for two couples. Appreciated the comfortable living room with gas fireplace, and extra living area in the enclosed, heated porch. Exceptionally clean and well maintained. Great location close to Monterey and walkable to downtown Pacific Grove.

Lovely home that accommodates those with limited mobility
The Boathouse is all that was advertised and more. The neighborhood was quiet and walkable. The distance to town/water and all its activities was a hop, skip and jump (and easy walk). The house’s accessibility for my mother-in-law, who uses a walker and needs appropriate aids in the bathroom, was very important and made her stay easier and comfortable. We loved the fireplace and gathered there every morning and evening. And all those windows brought it warming light each day!
We will return.

Very cosy and neat place
We stayed in the beachhouse for 3 nights and enjoyed it so much. The house is very cosy, the fireplace warmed the living room. The bed- and bathrooms were very clean and comfortable, very good shower with lots of hot water. Quiet neighborhood and close to the beach, within walking distance. You can even see the sea from the living room.
We definitely would like to stay here again some day!

Ladies getaway
There were four of us ladies. We were celebrating one of the ladies 60th birthday. We loved the house. It was nice everyone had their own bed. We used the kitchen a lot. We had a big SUV so we didn't park in the garage, but it was nice knowing it was available. Couches and beds were comfy. It was exceptionally hot for October in Monterey, it would have been nice if the screens were in the family room windows. We did open the bedroom windows and the slider. I understand they interfere with the view of the ocean. There were box fans but we didn't use them. A very quiet neighborhood. It was a great place, we would stay again.

Perfect Place
The Boat House was the perfect place for us. Lots of natural light with a distant view of the bay. (We saw a whale blow one afternoon while sitting on the couch.) A cozy gas fireplace that warmed us each morning and evening. A well-equipped kitchen, comfy beds. A short walk to coffee shops, restaurants, bars. We fell in love with the Boat House. It will be our place to stay when we visit in the future. ♥️ 🐳

“Boathouse “ with ocean views!
Great property, inside and out! Throughly enjoyed our stay. Great communications, we had no problems! Quiet area, but not that far from town. It made for a nice walk!

Beautiful House
The Boathouse met all of our expectations. We stayed with our son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter. It was close enough to the Aquarium and Cannery Row to walk. It was nice to have the use of the garage and be able to park our car inside. It was a quiet neighborhood. We even saw deer on our walks. The house has been updated, it was clean, and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay again.

Charming Home
This home is so charming and well appointed. The home is easy walking distance to parks, the waterfront and to the town. We had a really lovely time and would definitely come back and highly recommend this home.
The only thing missing was a full length mirror. It also is beautifully landscaped and has a great little backyard with interesting plants and garden artifacts.
We also absolutely loved the town.

Our favorite house in Pacific Grove
We’ve stayed in this house twice and I’m sure we’ll stay here again. It’s such an adorable house, so comfortable and has everything we need. It has an amazing yard with brick patio, we would have coffee there every morning and drinks in the evening. It’s two blocks to the ocean which makes for easy walks along the shore. Beautiful quiet neighborhood, we definitely recommend the Boat House.

California Trip
My family of 4 came out to CA for my soldier's graduation from DLI, Presidio of Monterey. The Boathouse was wonderful, clean, close to everything we needed. It was lovingly decorated and landscaped. The bedding, linens and showers were very good. I baked brownies and cooked couple of breakfasts and dinner. We walked to the center of town ,which was very quaint, and down to the ocean. There was a welcoming Catholic Church down the street as well, we had a great trip the Boathouse was a ideal home base.

Excellent experience
We had a girls trip to Monterey and we decided to stay at the Boathouse. We had an amazing experience starting from communication from the property manager to details in the home to check out process. The home is in a quiet/safe neighborhood and has one car garage which would only fit a medium sized car. The kitchen was stocked with a ton of pots/pans and was small but very much equipped with all the necessary items. There were plenty of blankets/towels/pillows for the 5 of us who stayed there. Overall, it was an excellent stay and we loved the place and highly recommend it.
