If your truly looking for a relaxing vacation . This cabin is simply beautiful and the surrounding landscape with the woods and the lake within view of the back deck is amazing . The host was very nice . And easy to contact . Having the pontoon boat was great . The lake is beautiful . We travel the country and stay in cabins deep in the woods and this cabin is the most beautiful we have ever stayed in . Thank you Lizzie for a very relaxing vacation ! William and Loretta Smith

The cabin was great for my family and centrally located for all the stops we wanted to make on our vacation (Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Fish Town, and lighthouses). We had our morning cup of coffee on the balcony and enjoyed the view. We saw loons and heard an owl during our stay. The kids loved swimming and kayaking in the lake. Would love to go back next year.

A perfect family vacation spot. Pontoon boat, kayaks, Lilly pad, fire pit, deck, was all we could have asked for!!!!

My family came for a short cousins get away for March break which included time at Great Wolf Lodge. We wanted to stay somewhere we could have family time, share meals, play games and have a relaxing and spacious place to spend our downtime (we can get on each others nerves lol). This cabin was so nice and had everything we needed from the bedrooms, to multiple bathrooms, and a basement living area perfect for hanging out and playing pool (which the kids absolutely loved!). We came in the late winter/spring and would definitely come again. Sounds like this place is amazing during the summer time too!

I complained about driving 4hrs away to come to this cabin lol, but let me tell you! The moment we entered the cabin, we fell in love! This Trip was soooooo amazing! The cabin was clean and the kitchen was fully equipped. I can't say enough about my birthday vacation here. I did not want to go back home lol. And last but not least, Liz was very welcoming and communication was smooth and prompt. We will definitely rent here again. 🎉❤️

We stayed here October 12-17 and the fall colors were absolutely beautiful. We needed some time away to disconnect from everything. This place was perfect. It is nestled in the woods on the lake. I can't express in words how beautiful it is in person. Our hostess was also quick to answer any questions we had. Do not hesitate to book this one. We drove 14 hours to stay here and wouldn't hesitate to do it again!

Everything was amazing! The fact that you get a boat with the cabin is over the top! Everything was great! Only compliant/ downside to the property/ area is no wifi and barely any cell service. Other than that everything was great!

We loved the privacy and location. It’s a short drive to Sleeping Bear Dunes and downtownTraverse city. The kids enjoyed the pool table and PlayStation as well as playing on the dock. It was a perfect quick getaway!

Cedar Lake was the perfect venue for our celebration. We packed in the fun with tubing at Mt Holiday, Dinner at McGees, Casino Visit. Shopping in TC and a spa day!
Host was responsive and immediately had a tv replaced that wasn’t operational. My only concern was how cold the lower level was especially at night for those sleeping in that space. Another electric fireplace would be a great addition. Thank you !

It is an amazing place to stay, very quiet and secluded. Was a nice place to relax and get away. Will always look for this place to stay on our traverse city trips

Everything was just great! There was a concern about too much snow in the driveway because of a storm, but we did just fine! In addition to having large vehicles, the drive was plowed! Thank you for all of your efforts!!!

First trip as a family with adult children. So relaxing and the house was beautiful. Scenery was amazing to wake up to with the large windows overlooking the lake. Everything needed to make a thanksgiving meal was available. Within about 30 minutes of fun activities, like black Friday shopping, climbing the dunes, and the casino. Highly recommend and would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the lake. We had phone service, even though the house was in the woods. Dish network for movie time. Everyone seemed very comfortable. Thank you for sharing your home with our family.

We enjoyed our stay and wished we had a couple more days. This is a very quiet and peaceful property that is about 20 min drive from TC. It’s on a dirt trail so it is very dark at night. This is perfect for a relaxing getaway.

Cabin was very clean & comfortable, with easy access from local highway. Description on web-site was very accurate. The property is very well maintained with a short trail to the lake that has a dock, Kayaks & Pontoon boat. Great central location - close to TC, Lake Ann, Glen Arbor & Lake Michigan. Everyday was filled with something different to do or a different place to go to. Lake Ann is near by and has a great boutique coffee shop, an excellent little restaurant, and a craft brewery with Live entertainment on the weekends. If you need anything a full service Grocery Store with Deli only a few minutes away in Interlochen.

Annual family getaway
Every year we pick a different part of our beautiful state to explore. This property made it easy to rest, relax, and check out the area. The house was a great spot to chill out and listen to the birds. There was a feisty squirrel that visited a few times. It was comfortable when we all hung out together and spacious enough for us all to spread out.

Perfect for us
We were looking for a place that had water, a boat, and privacy, and was also reasonably close to the essentials - like beer, groceries, and a few restaurants. We also wanted something central to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Frankfort, and Traverse City, and this place checks all those boxes. Cedar Lake was small, but also very quiet. We enjoyed the short rides in the boat, but the best part was turning off the motor and drifting with the loons for a while.
The well water is strong, hard, iron-tasting well water. Bring some bottled water if you aren’t certain that you’re good with drinking it. Bring a wetsuit, bring some hammocks, bring your need for relaxation, and also maybe bring a scented candle, and you’ll have a great time here!

The house was great. We wished it hadn't snowed. Thought about kayaking. The kitchen was nicely stocked. Long walk with the garbage cans though....

The cabin is amazing. The location is secluded back in the woods and right on the lake. Only 15 miles from Traverse City. We will be back.

2021 Girls Deer Camp Weekend and no we are not hunting deer. :)
Every year when the guys go hunting us women get away for the weekend also. We are hunting but it’s not for deer. Usually we go to a particular casino but this year we wanted something different.
We cannot say enough good things about this property or the owners. It was a very easy process from start to finish. Anytime I emailed the host she responded quickly.
The property was well maintained and very nicely decorated and very very clean It was inviting and you seriously felt at home. Due to the weather ( rained everyday) we didn’t get to sit by the lake and have bonfires and enjoy the view, but none the less it was a great time. Thanks again for helping us have an amazing weekend. 💙💛

Loved our Fall Break!
Our entire family as well as my brother’s family enjoyed this vacation in Traverse City. We had two couples and FIVE children! There is an area in the lower level that allowed all the cousins to hang out and have fun. They played pool and PS2 games that were supplied with the home. I think they played some board games too. This allowed the rest of us to catch up without nearly the amount of noise as we thought there would be. We watched movies, had a bonfire and in the morning my SIL and I took the kayaks out while our husbands took the kids for a hike. We didn’t find a cider mill but we did go to Moomer’s for ice cream (a must stop.) The entire home was extremely comfortable and we slept wonderfully. All in all, this was the perfect get away. We were concerned about bringing all the kids, but the lay out of the home made it so we could all bond without stress. This will be a yearly tradition. Thank you!

Iceman Cometh Challenge Weekend
We stayed here with my friends to join the iceman cometh challenge 2021. Location was 30 mins away from the finish line. Our stay was flawless, we had a good night sleep each night. The cabin was cery clean.

Destination Wedding
We stayed for a week at the end of October for a family wedding in the area. The colors were beautiful and the cabin was a cozy home away from home during all the festivities! We had plenty of room and enjoyed the fire pit and the deck when the weather allowed. We would love to come back during the summer to enjoy the lake!

Fall girls getaway.
Nice, secluded location, but close to everything. Wish we had more time to enjoy the boat. Enjoyed coffee on the deck, campfire by the water, the loon was a nice surprise. The wood furniture is appropriate but really uncomfortable. It will be beautiful this fall.

We had (8) adults and (2) children stay at the home for a week. We loved the area and peacefulness of the lake. We used the bonfire pit nightly and loved having the sliding door and screened windows open to hear all of the surrounding wildlife - owls, loons. The home is remote, you drive down a gravel road towards the very last portion of the drive (0.5 miles or so) , and perfectly positioned for so many day trips. We drove to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Leland, Sutton's Bay, downtown Traverse City, Glen Arbor, Old Mission Peninsula. FYI - the lake water right off the dock is not the most swimmable, lots of life, fish, turtles, lake grass, but the home provides floaties, the pontoon, and lily pad to float on top and the lake is less weedy in the middle - we dropped anchor and went swimming in the middle of the lake. We took the pontoon only out twice, the first time with no issues and the second time, we actually got stranded on the water as the engine would not turn back on. Luckily, there was a couple fishing and they towed us back to the house's pier. It is really nice that the home comes with a pontoon - we used it a lot to sit by the water and enjoy cocktails, but I just wish it consistently operated. Overall, we had a lovely time at this home, great way to end summer!

Overall positive experience, but the property needs some attention, here are some examples:Very, very slow drain in main tub...you end up showering in about 4 inches of not clean waterPontoon is quite old with very finicky 2 stroke motor, we used it for 20 mins, then were afraid of getting stuck on the lake, as it repeatedly diedGrill was disgustingly dirty, we felt unusableDishwasher top rack was brokenDVD player remote was missing, rendering it unusableFurniture was generally college level, not comfortable Overall, location was great, very peaceful and convenient, but trip would have been more enjoyable if details above were addressed. We had a great time with many things to do in the area.Location 5 starsHouse and amenities 3 stars

Peaceful Lake Stay
Very quiet, relaxing stay. The house was better than expected from the photos and everything we needed was already there. Charcoal grill was very modern and great for cooking. We had a great time kayaking around the lake and the fishing was great!

Beautiful home, beautiful surroundings and close to all kinds of fun things to do and places to explore for children and adults. We enjoyed the kayaks and pontoon boat numerous times. We adopted “Brook”, our own personal duck . Check-in was a breeze. We would love to come back for another family reunion.

Great stay at turtle lake
We overall had a really great stay. The location was great as was the fishing. We were even able to catch a northern pike off the dock. The kids renamed it turtle lake as they counted an average of 8 from the dock every night, including really large snapping turtles. Given that and the amount of reeds nobody in our group was willing to go in the water but Taylor park Beach is nearby for swimming and we highly recommend it. If it had 2 more kayaks it would be prefect for a family. We had a lot of fun and wouldc stay again.

Up North Summer Vacay
Property was nicely located close to the dunes and Tavares City. There were 9 of us (4 adults, 17, 15, 14, 13, and 11 year olds). We had plenty room and managed with only having 2 bathrooms. ONLY downfall...no WiFi. Such a wonderful trip!
