Cape Myrtle has a large beautiful yard, professionally landscaped with grand palms, a high private fence, outdoor seating, dining area, large pool w/ lounge chairs and 2 grills (charcoal & propane). There are front and rear decks and a large paved area around the pool for sunbathing. The pool is 10,000 gallons and ranges from 3ft-5ft in depth. SORRY POOL CANNOT BE HEATED.
Plenty of parking and motorcycles/trailers are allowed. Parking capacity varies based on size of vehicles or additional trailers, but generally, 6-8 cars would fit along the driveway/grass side of the house. It's just 3-4 blocks to the beach, from the sidewalk directly out of the front door, but also a great option to rent a local golf-cart and enjoy cruising the kids or grandparents to the dunes, or around the neighborhood to the local park.
This 5000 square foot home can be used by 2 or more families, as it has duplicate features on each floor w/ an interior stairway joining the two floors. 4 BR/2 BA Upstairs, 4 BR/2 BA Downstairs (Bedroom Layout -- Downstairs: 1 King shares bath with 2 Doubles -- 2 Doubles shares bath with 1 Queen -- Upstairs: 2 Doubles share a bath with 2 Doubles -- 2 Doubles share a bath with 1 Queen (13 beds total). Bed and bath linens are included with your reservation, beds will be freshly made upon arrival, kitchen and bathrooms will be supplied with a small "starter kit" of paper products and hotel size soaps. Just enough supplies to give you a break from dashing to the local store after your first long day of traveling.
The interior offers 2 fully-equipped kitchens, making meals a great family experience. Each level provides an open space of living / dining / family gathering areas, with eat-in kitchens (dining tables and counter-top bar seating for all), full size appliances, 2 laundry rooms w/ washer/dryer, foosball, WiFi and cable. Just steps out the front door and down the sidewalk, the beach is an easy 3-4 block walk to a nice public access, with showers, parking, bathrooms, wash stations, and handicap ramp access. The house was in a decent location, but the floors and a good portion of the house was pretty dirty. Some of the ceiling fans didn’t work and the couch had so many springs you couldn’t sit anywhere without being uncomfortable. The toilet seats were pretty beaten up. Pretty disappointed overall.

Hello, myself and my Golf buddies stayed 9 nights at Cape Myrtle and had a great time. The location, pool in the backyard and condition of the property was outstanding. The arrival check-in was seamless, everything was as described. The size and setup of the House met our needs and we were very happy with how close the location was to all the things we like to do! We are already planning next year and hope to be back if the property is available!

My family and I enjoyed our time here at the Cape Myrtle Retreat house! There was enough space for everyone without anyone feeling crowded. There were some minor issues that were quickly resolved by the owner that did not interfere with our stay! We were able to complete our Thanksgiving dinner in a timely manner as there were two kitchens which allowed all the cooks to work together to get things done! It was a truly enjoyable time and we plan to return next year!!

Our experience at Cape Myrtle house was fantastic. Tracy, the property manager was wonderful even before we arrived. We did have a few issues that we addressed with her and all things that were brought to her attention were taken care of in the same day. I would highly recommend, this rental to anyone looking for a nice getaway.

Our party of 8 enjoyed staying at the Cape House. Plenty of room and walking (or riding - they have 2 bikes you can use) distance from the beach.
A couple of suggestions for the off season maintenance updates:
a new downstairs dish washer
add a garbage disposal to the downstairs kitchen sink
add an ice maker to the downstairs freezer

The outside area was excellent.
Inside was another story. First, the place has a BAD roach problem.
Some of the appliances didn’t work. We had to get the stove repaired but the dryer never got fixed. All appliances need to be updated!
Lastly, for as much as I paid for the place, I could not believe that I had to take my own trash (a weeks worth!) to a local dumpster myself. Why would that not be part of the cleanup process? We put it in the large can outside, you take the can to the dumpster??
We had a great time but only because the outside area was perfect.
I would definitely stay there again next year if they address the above issues. Roaches, out of date/broken appliances and self serve trash disposal is not what I envisioned for the price I paid.

Our family made a reservation in 2020 and extended the reservation until 2022 because of high Covid rates in the MD area. We enjoyed the location and overall, were fairly satisfied with the property. Several things were not working in the property when we arrived, however (eg, shower head in one bathroom). Additionally, be prepared to take all your trash off the premises as there is no trash service provided. Renter beware: be prepared to be charged for items that you may not have broken as well, or items that were already in disrepair and experienced normal wear and tear - we were charged for a broken pool net which we didn't touch, and a broken plastic pool chair that was already in rough shape.

This was the perfect house for us to have our family vacation. Located just a short walking distance from the beach and 30 minutes from most things you might want to visit. I brought my entire family including great-grandkids and we had a great time. Pool fun every night we were there. Tracy at Owner Direct was a gem helping us with all our questions! The property is in a great location, close to supermarket, shopping, food etc. large enough to accommodate our family and friends of 20. The beach is about 8 minutes walk. The kids enjoyed the pool very much. If you are in the area you must try Melts ice cream. The house overall is in need of up grade. One bathroom upstairs has no shower head, we were told by management that its a bath and not a shower which made it very inconvenient for the adults using that specific one. House keeping needs to do a better job at cleaning, we had to call to get the shower curtain changed which was very dirty. Management was prompt in getting someone to the house to get it changed. House was very dusty with a moldy smell. There were multiple small roaches in the downstairs kitchen. Utensils that were used prior to our arrival were placed back in drawer and knife holder without being washed, very disgusting. Overall, house is not bad, management needs to supervise closely to ensure cleanliness and upgrading when needed

The only complaint that I have is with the owners pool tech. He was rude, had a few inappropriate comments and would just walk in without introducing himself. The property management sent the cleaning crew at 8:15AM, even though I stated I was leaving at 10AM.

75th bday!
The neighborhood was perfect! It was walking distance to the beach and any store you could possibly need was right around the corner. The house was as described. The only downfalls were having to go thru a bedroom to get to any bathroom there was no main bathroom, the cleaning crew did a rush job and left a ring around the tub and a dirty mildew curtain liner that I had to remove in order to shower and the line to the pool broke(as they do) but we had to fix it ourselves as not to lose a day. The owner however did send a tech the very next morning. Overall our stay was great! My Moms 75th bday was a success I would highly recommend Cape Myrtle house!

The house was pretty much as described except no foosball table. We also couldn't get most of the TVs to turn on. One of the bottom bedroom's 2 mattress bed bug covers were ripped and just tucked under the mattress. Housekeeping shouldn't have left those that way. I don't know how often the pool company comes but the pool had some sand in it. There aren't any seasonings or trash bags, besides the one in the can when you arrive, for renters to use. We had a problem with the upstairs dryer ruining some of our clothes but Owner Direct Vacation Rentals made it right without a hassle. All of the employees we talked with at Owner Direct Vacation Rental were great and friendly. They know how to treat people! I wish I'd have known to book directly with them instead of paying extra funds through VRBO. But now I know! The pool was very relaxing!

Unfortunately the vacation experience at Cape Myrtle House was not good. We arrived around 5pm to get the binder from Owners Direct. We were told the unit was ready for us. Upon arriving to the rental a vehicle was parked there, the shed was open, and people were in the house. I approached and found out it was the cleaning company employees. They were finishing up. They did state someone was coming to replace a blind on the back door. We were bringing stuff in and they did their thing. After a while I thought they were gone and than noticed they were sitting on the rear deck chairs. It was very uncomfortable and unprofessional.
The house was dated, very in need of a deep cleaning, and updates. There were There was hardly enough silverware or bowls for our group of 10 adults and 2 children. The coffee maker had used grounds in it when I went to make coffee the first morning. The downstairs refrigerator had a bad smell of seafood all week. We even cleaned it with Clorox wipes and put a deodorizer in it, without help. The dishwasher was flimsy and dated. One rack was broken and my son in law had to fix it. There was an oven but, no pot holders or oven mitts to safely remove a hot pan.
The first night the group staying upstairs said they saw cockroaches. I tried to reassure them it was probably water bugs. Well, after staying the week I’m sure they were actually cockroaches!

We spent a week at Cape Myrtle and loved it. First family vacation for us and enjoyed by all.The house was perfect for large family .The layout of the house made it perfect plenty of bedrooms ;bathrooms .2 laundry areas which was so handy with lots of clothes and towels to wash.We’ve really enjoyed being a short distance from the beach . It made it private at night especially and gave us the opportunity to spend time outdoors poolside late into the night. The pool was definitely the biggest hit .all the family young and old enjoyed the pool games and fun.The few times I called for different needs the response was quick and efficient.I loved the location and all the flowers . Noted all were well taken care of ! I would recommend this house!
