With room for up to 10 guests (and two dogs), this newly renovated, tree-surrounded Tahoe City vacation home offers a comfortable home base in the desirable Talmont Estates neighborhood.
This tree-surrounded cabin has been completely remodeled. Our kitchen now has granite countertops and new stainless steel appliances. We updated the bathrooms to have new vanities, and all beds have been replaced to ensure a more comfortable stay.
This elegantly-rustic cabin in the woods features a private six-person hot tub (accessible with a separate flat fee), a river rock fireplace, WiFi, and a flat screen TV. Best of all, Lake Tahoe beaches are a short four-mile drive or bike ride away!
When you're not off on a Tahoe adventure, this lovely vacation home in the woods offers slanted, wood-beamed ceilings, an open main level floor plan, and a full kitchen for preparing vacation meals. Out on the spacious deck you can soak in the hot tub while the snow falls down, or in drier weather, use the gas grill to prepare a meal.
The three bedrooms at this mountaintop lounge home are all on the lower level and include a master bedroom with a California king bed and private bathroom, an additional queen bedroom, and a bunk bed room for the kids! We also have an extra mattress available for additional guests. If you want to bring along your furry family members, two dogs are welcome with a $10 per pet/per night fee.
Additional amenities include a washer and dryer, cable TV, Netflix, DVD player, board games, and a stereo with CD player. All of the comforts from home but in a beautiful vacation rental just minutes from gorgeous, blue Lake Tahoe!
Whether you visit North Lake Tahoe for cold or warm-weather activities, this Tahoe City vacation home is loaded with great amenities and is just minutes from a variety of options.

This was our fourth stay at Jeff’s place. You can’t beat the neighborhood, with great access to Page Meadow, the west shore and Tahoe City. It’s an easy, relaxed visit every time.

We love staying here. It is in a great area of Tahoe. It has everything one needs for a great visit. The hot tub is a great bonus. This is our third stay here and we will continue to book the home for our annual family reunion at Tahoe.

Description of the property was accurate in my opinion. There was a ton of snow but the owner worked with it to make it accessible. The hot tub was nice after a day of snowboarding. Had supples in the event it needed to be treated while we were there. Communication with the owner was very easy. Home was well stocked and clean. You absolutely need a 4 wheel, awd, or snow tires if you are coming in the snow season. It’s up several hills and turns to get there and a lot of people who may normally be able to get around were stuck. The road is maintained but when it’s snowing you cant keep up all the time. All in all a great stay and enjoyed it

I would AVOID this rental because the property owner lives in San Diego and does not maintain the home. There are SAFETY CONCERNS in the home and Jeff the owner was NOT RESPONSIVE at all.
My family decided to rent a vacation home during the summer. Upon arrival we starting noticing unusual situations for a rental. The house was not well stocked. There was not even a wine opener. No propane in the BBQ tank. We notified the property owner and his reply was 'ya people take things. Just go pick some up and I'll reimburse you'. I don't want to be running someone else's errands on my vacation. This was how it was with all the supplies in the house toilet paper, dish soap, hand soap laundry detergent etc. I decided to let it go.
The next issues were dangerous and unhygienic and I told my husband the situation was not ok. There were exposed nails around the hot tub. A large 9 inch hole in the kids room floor. I wish I could post the pictures I sent to Jeff and VRBO. I mean a hole in the kids room floor closet where my foot could even fit through! Plus the surrounding carpet wasn't tacked down to sub floor so there were exposed tacks.
The hot tub is not properly maintained. Which is SO GROSS on a rental. The hot tub company only comes out about every two weeks. It's up to the renters to add chemical.
To top it off, there is no way the cleaning lady is washing all the bedding including comforters between renters. The dryer is not great and takes a long time dry. Believe me I tried. So if you rent here make sure you wash the linens before getting into bed!
In short, SO DISAPPOINTING. Mainly because Jeff was rude and unresponsive. We tried to resolve this without posting a review giving him an opportunity to rectify the situation. We got to know the neighbors and when I told them about the situation they said they weren't surprised 'he rents to anyone. ' I told the neighbors he said he is up here every month they're like 'no he's not!' Jeff is clearly ALL ABOUT THE MONEY.

We love this spot!
Great access to Paige Meadow, Tahoe Park and all the best aspects of the west side of the lake. The home is cozy and perfect for our brood.

We had a party of 9 stay at the house and it was a great size for a large party. There was enough couch space for us to all sit and enough room for us at the dining room table/bar area which was a nice bonus. The house was really clean. The only negative we found was that if you are on the first floor, you can hear everything from the second floor. If you want to grill on the bbq, bring your own propane tank as it was empty when we tried to use it-this was stated in the rental agreement, so just be prepared! Thanks so much for letting us your house; we had a great time! We would rent it again.

The house was clean & comfortable with everything you need for a great stay! It was farther away from the ski mountains because of the many turns & deep into the neighborhood especially when roads are snow covered. That was the one downside & the electric bear mat is not easy to maneuver with a dog. We were in constant fear he would be electrocuted. Otherwise the yard is great and environment peaceful!

great house & experience but beware the drive to the house off main road is far when lots of snow

Dec 2018, our large family found plenty of room to enjoy board games, cooking, relaxing and sleeping. The house is stocked with everything you may have forgot. Very comfortable, snow trailhead at the end of the cuv-a-sac leading to a pleasant wilderness opening.

This house has it all! Great time in the woods. Spa was very relaxing and we all had a great time. Will rent again for sure.

Our family and dog had a wonderful stay! The kitchen had all amenities to cook with, and plenty of room for everyone to hang out while cooking-a very nice upstairs floor plan! Furnishing were very nice and very clean! Being pet friendly, we never know what to expect, but this place is exceptionally well taken care of!
Our only regret was not bringing our mountain bikes to take advantage of the trails close by.

This house was perfect for our stay. Only complaint was that one of the roll out couches was very uncomfortable so be aware if you are planning to use it. We enjoyed the hot tub very much and the kitchen was well stocked with all the pans utensils I needed.
Thank you for a great stay.

The house itself is lovely, and once inside, we had a very nice stay. We have no complaints at all about the house.
The problem was getting in the first night. There is only one non-stop flight to Reno from NYC, and it arrives late. We got to the house at 1am, exhausted and ready to sleep, in order to get up the next day to ski. We were given a 4 digit code for the lock box, but when we tried to apply it, we couldn’t push the buttons in, and some buttons were already pushed in and wouldn’t come up.
We didn’t know what to do. We were tired, and it was 6 degrees - we would take turns to warm up in the car, while someone tried to push the buttons in with a screwdriver. We started to wonder if we had the wrong code or if it was simply broken. We tried to call the property manager, but understandably, she didn’t answer. At this stage, now around 2.15am, we thought the four of us would be sleeping in the car with the engine on.
We drove to a gas station to try one last thing and got a large cup of hot water. 45 minutes later, back at the house, the hot water did the trick. We got in at 3.15am.
The property manager and the owner have been sympathetic and respond promptly, but have been clear that this was a one-off problem beyond their control. Their view is that this is just "one of those things" that is part of the risk of booking a rental property and arriving as late as we did.
As customers, we paid for the night, and we were entitled to trouble-free access to the house (no matter what time it is). Even if we had immediately worked out that the lock was frozen, it was still a 45 minute trip to get hot water. We were cold and exhausted. To have the property manager act like our inability to get into the house was our problem and not hers was, to us, unfair.
It's my belief that a partial refund for the first night would have been reasonable. I had a 30 minute phone call with the owner, and I appreciated he took the time to make the call. He did not, however, share my view that any sort of compensation would be appropriate. I'm not sure, but I think he felt I was being unreasonable in my expectations.
I do recommend this property, as it's comfortable, clean and convenient to ski fields and Tahoe City. It's extremely likely that if you choose this property, you'll have an excellent experience. My complaint is entirely with how the property manager and owner responded to our first night difficulties.

This cabin was great for my family vacation. It has just about everything you need for a fun-filled time. The hot tub was a big hit for the kids and adults (it was worth the extra $100 fee), and the fireplace makes for a cozy conversation (but bring your own wood). There are beautiful views right outside of your windows, and the lake and the town are very close to the house. The Property Manager was friendly and very easy to deal with. The only advice I have for anyone who stays here is to make sure there are enough beds for everyone, the couches upstairs both pull out into beds but as far as actual beds (in bedrooms) there are only 4, so make sure that works for your group. We hope to stay here again in the future!

Great Time at the Cabin
Our group of 11 had a great time at the cabin. The living room and dining area were spacious, which was great for everyone to fit for hanging out and playing games. Bedrooms were nice, and the kitchen was too. Would stay here again. Thanks!

Beautiful Location, great cabin
We had 10 people stay and had a wonderful time! The house was very accommodating, the kitchen was fully stocked. Everything was very clean. The best part about the place was being so close to wilderness. There are trails a couple houses down where you can cross country ski, snowshoe or hike. Very beautiful terrain and peaceful. Overall it was a wonderful place to rent. I'd go back and stay there again!

Fantastic house in a great location!
We loved this house and had a great experience booking with Christine! We had a group of 6 people and a dog that went up for a ski weekend. The house sits atop a neighborhood just outside of downtown Tahoe City. Tahoe City is an easy 5-10 minute drive from the house. The drive to Squaw and Alpine ski areas is around 15 minutes, depending on traffic. We left at 8am and avoided almost all of the traffic going to Squaw. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The owners have a friendly "take some, leave some" attitude towards basic household goods like popcorn, etc! The fireplace worked well and the jacuzzi was a great way to relax after a day of skiing. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and were very happy with both Christine's professionalism and the house itself!
