About this house rental
The Snookery is perfectly located just 3 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway and 8 miles from downtown Asheville. Just hop on the Parkway and have the Appalachian wilderness at your beck and call or mosey on down to the hottest town the South has to offer.
This is one of four rental units in Snookville along with the Snookmore (house, sleeps 10), the Snook Nook (apartment, sleeps 2), and the Snookstream (glamping, sleeps 2 - coming soon). The Snookmore is also on VRBO and the Snook Nook is on Airbnb. For reviews of us as hosts, please look up the Snook Nook on Airbnb.
Perched on the mountainside, the Snookery has two back decks with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Designed to sleep up to 12 comfortably, the Snookery affords large groups a place to convene, but can also provide an intimate stay.
Newly constructed in 2107, it has a fully equipped kitchen for the gourmet chef, the option of a Keurig, Coffee maker or hot tea pot for the morning haze, and both a dining room and back porch dining table for any meal setting you please. Also on the back deck you'll find a grill for the vacation cookout and a hot tub for the end of the day wind down. Down on the bottom level, there's room to relax and play with a foosball table, a big screen TV (with Roku and free Netflix) and another porch with obligatory rocking chairs. Just off the lower porch, there's a fire pit with plenty of firewood-- and we can even set you up with a fireside treat package (one of the possible extras to be found in Snookville). Top all that off with brand new mattresses and plentiful pillows to lay your head, and you've got the perfect home base for your Appalachian adventure. The only trick will be leaving the Snookery!

Best equipped rental ever!
I reserved this property almost a year in advance, and it was ideal for our family the weekend of our son's wedding. My parents, brothers, and their families stayed next door at the Snookmore, which was an added bonus. We have stayed in many rentals on vacations, but this one was the best equipped. We liked that there was a good supply of basic pantry in the house (like seasonings and oil) as well as generous supplies for the Keurig, including pods, creamer, and sweetners. The house is very clean and spacious and everything worked well. Definitely recommend!

July in Asheville
Great home base for my husband and I, two adult children and spouses, and 26-month old grandson. Appreciated that the owners provided high-quality thick towels and similar quality linens. Soap and shampoo/conditioner dispensers in the baths and showers had great-smelling product. Kitchen well stocked not just with Pottery Barn white dishes but beautiful drinking and wine glasses. Oldest generation loved the main floor master suite, and the two large 2nd floor nearly identical bedrooms with en suite baths eliminated any problems with assigning rooms. Lots of space fir couple private time. The booster seat, multiple baby gates and Pack ‘n Play were just what we needed, as well as child-friendly plates and cups in the kitchen. Local beer in the frig and a great selection of coffee pods were a nice surprise. And when we found on the first morning that the coffee carafe was cracked, the owner replaced it with a brand new one within hours. Enjoyed mornings on the large deck off the living area, after dinner in the river cling chairs on same porch. Gazing into the woods and viewing mountains and clouds made us feel remote and relaxed, but we were only 15 minutes to the main road and all shopping conveniences. Ran out of time for s’mores in the fire pit but there’s always next time.

We came here for my sisters bachelorette party and the property couldn’t have been more perfect. It was clean, HUGE, had everything we needed and more. Communication with the host, Aaron Snook, was quick and easy. We will absolutely be back. Thank you so much to the Snooks for all the love they’ve put into this place. We couldn’t have asked for a better trip.

Absolutely STUNNING home & view—A MUST STAY!
Highly recommend the Snookery!
Communication with the property manager (Aaron) was fabulous- very responsive and helpful, salted the roads prior to our departure (snowed that morning creating a beautiful winter wonderland)!
The house itself is huge, spacious and soooo clean! They’ve thought of everything - wel stocked kitchen complete with kcups, sugars, ziplocks, dishwasher tabs, pods for laundry, trash bags, extra toilet paper and paper towels!! My hubby loved the beers that were kindly left!! One of the most generous places I’ve stayed at regarding what the property owner provided— also was able to use the baby gates, booster and pac and play which came in huge handy!!
We loved the hot tub! We enjoyed roasting s’mores at the fire pit - and played some of the games that were left for our enjoyment. We visited Matildas children’s area and loved the big TVs!! Very convenient to downtown Asheville - we went to Biltmore and the shops as well as got some Yummy food- (we hiked Catawba falls) and checked out quaint black mtn downtown!! Definitely go by the Black Mtn downtown if you can- you won’t regret it!!
I highly recommend this home and location! We made some awesome memories.
Awesome experience. Five stars for sure!!!!

This house was perfect! We stayed here in August for a 30th birthday celebration with family and the location was just right - about 15 minutes from downtown Asheville, 5 minutes from a grocery store, but in an area that felt very private. The view from both porches was amazing, you could see the mountains and the landscape around the house. The interior was beautiful, modern, and clean with plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen was super well equipped. Aaron was a super friendly host and very responsive. We were greeted with a selection of local beers in the fridge, a treat after a long 10 hour drive. When the firewood was rained on and too wet for a fire on our last night, I texted him and he brought over some dry firewood within 15 minutes. Highly recommend this home, and would stay here again or in one of the other "Snookville" properties.

Beautiful home with a great view! We enjoyed cooking dinners and sipping wine together here!
Our stay was a celebration of my husband’s 50th birthday. We had a wonderful time together with friends and family. Even saw a sweet family of bears resting together in a tree! We will be booking this property again!

Such a gem!
This place is even better in person. Right in the mountains with amazing views on both decks. We didn’t leave the deck all weekend. The Owner was very communicative and responded quickly. Would definitely recommend this for any kind of trip! We also saw a black bear and her cub in the backyard - which was such an awesome experience.

We will be back
This was a great house. The pictures really do not do it justice. It was clean and had plenty of space for our group. It is close to town but secluded enough that you feel you are away.We all enjoyed our stay here. The hosts were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

Get away from it all, but not too far.
Nestled deep in Snookville, it feels more secluded than the short drive would have you believe. The home is new, clean and spacious. Plenty of spaces for socializing (if you dare risk the ‘Rona), you’ll never feel crowded, and when you’re ready to break to your separate corners the bedrooms suites on separate levels give extra privacy. The master bedroom has a comfy king bed and a very large shower. We can only say we are very pleased with our stay.

Wonderful spacious and well-appointed house!
Terrific house. Each room has its own bathroom. Big table to share. Extra supplies if you have a toddler. Very well stocked house from the kitchen to the backyard fire pit! You won’t be disappointed!

Family Wedding Gathering
Our niece, Caroline got married at Ridgeview Venue Jan 10th so we needed a spacious home and the fact that The Snookery had a full bath for each bedroom was a big deal! We’ve all rented VRBO homes before and this one provided the most amenities we’ve ever experienced!! The house was close to so much and Asheville is an easy city to get around in. We all went to the Biltmore and if you’re a Downton Abbey fan (like us) don’t miss the exhibition at Biltmore. Also pay extra for the guided audio tour-well worth it!
All in all can’t say enough positives and we hope to return in the future! Thank you Aaron!

Asheville Reunion
Outstanding, well appointed property with a beautiful view. We had an outstanding time -- the Snookery was everything we wanted and more. A special touch was keurig coffee and several beers from the local brewery in the refridgerator! Communication with Aaron was also quick and easy. Thanks!

A 5 star experience.
We were a group of 4 couples and the accommodations were perfect. The setting was wooded and private yet a short 15-20 minute drive into Asheville. Rooms were incredibly spacious with individual bathroom facilities so everyone had complete privacy. Even with 8 adults showering at the same time in the morning, we had plenty of hot water. The kitchen was large and well equipped so we never felt cramped when we ate in. We spent our evenings sitting around the fireplace with an abundant supply of wood. We plan to return next year.

Great time in the woods
Beautiful new build deep in the woods. Family vacation and plenty of room for four families. Well equipped. Thank you for bed linens, towels, and a fully furnished kitchen. The hot tub and fire pit were very welcomed.
The location was perfect - in the woods, close to Blue Ridge Parkway and the sighting of the bear on our lane. Yet close to Asheville attractions: arts, shopping, restaurants, and Biltmore.
Thanks for the great retreat.

Perfection! Beautiful home, short trip to town!
Stunning, new space with all the comforts of home! Open floor plan with plenty of space for everyone. Enjoy the outdoor hot tub or an evening around the peaceful fire pit. Foosball table and large screen TV make for a great entertainment room. Each bedroom has its own bath. The kitchen is stocked to prepare a family meal and play games around the dining table. Washer and dryer amenities are great for cleaning before packing to go home. This is now on our must stay list! Great stay!!!

An Amazing Property
From check in to check out, our experience was fantastic. We had 3 couples in our group over the age of 50 who took a vacation away from our college age kids. We chose this property from the reviews online, and also from the pictures. Everything turned out to be exactly as we expected. This home was very nicely appointed, which doesn’t always happen with VRBO properties. It had plenty of toilet paper, tissues, paper towels and even Keurig coffee PODs. Most places run short on these essentials and you find yourself running to the store.
The property was clean and everything worked very well. The view off the back deck was pretty and there was plenty of privacy from houses in the area.
Aaron the owner was very responsive via text for a question I had. We would highly recommend this property for any kind of a getaway vacation.

Another best day ever EVERY DAY at the Snookery!
The Snookery was amazing in every way! Clean, spacious, fully equipped kitchen, gorgeous view, comfortable beds, fabulous fire pit, table big enough for 8 for family meals and games, all appliances new in great working condition, beautifully furnished! (Imagine opening Pottery Barn catalog and ordering everything to furnish a three level house!) And Aaron Snook, owner, responded quickly to questions & concerns. FYI the Bears crossing sign is not a decoration! Loved it!!
