About this house rental
Hello, and welcome to Sonoma and the Sonoma Wine Valley…
For years we sought a place that would rejuvenate our souls by making us feel far away, while still being close to the activities that we enjoy: our love of wine, food and life in all its forms…
Today we are living that dream and we welcome you into our home: 'Vie du Reve' (living the dream).
Our 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms home is located in the secluded hills of Sonoma, but just 8 minutes from the historic Plaza. It's really ideally suited for 3 couples who enjoy vacationing together... From the minute you walk in the door, the view will draw your eyes to the nature that surrounds the property and the peace and quiet that engulfs you. You’ll immediately feel like you’re in your own private tree house and your workday woes will begin to fade away. You enter the house on the main floor that has the living room, kitchen, dining area, half-bath and “top deck,” which is ideal for morning coffee and evening appetizers. Walk down one floor to the middle level that has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Walk down another floor to the entertainment room on the lower level (great for extended visits when there is more time to enjoy a movie or watch a sporting event).
In addition to the “top deck,' there are decks off the master bedroom, the front and back of the house (four decks total). As the sun moves through the day, you can find sun or shade, whatever fits your wishes… In the summer of 2015 we replaced the lower deck, so please view pictures of the new addition. Remember that nights can get chilly when the sun goes down, so pack that favorite sweater.
While we are minutes from the historic Sonoma Plaza, you won’t feel it or hear it… YOU are now on vacation!!
In our view a good night’s rest is the centerpiece to a pleasurable vacation. Beds are all new and have premium linens. The bedrooms offer quiet sleeping environments…
Mornings are truly special at Vie du Reve. If you are the early bird of your group, start your day on the top deck, enjoying a favorite book or cup of coffee as you overlook the tranquil valley of trees that’s behind the house. Or take a walk in the neighborhood, past the local vineyard just up the hill. As your guests arise, they can join you as you plan the day’s events…
Once you decide to get going, you won’t have to travel far as wineries, restaurants, walking trails, golf courses and more are all close by. Remember that we are hear as your local resource, so please let us know if you'd like a recommendation. You could truly enjoy your entire stay without driving more than 10 minutes, but you’ll want to explore the world-class activities and surroundings that Sonoma has to offer.
The beauty of Vie du Reve is that you, and your guests, can plan the days to match your desires. Relax at home or be active, go out for lunch and dinners or cook at home, Vie du Reve has all the amenities you’ll need (see list of amenities below). If this is a return trip to Sonoma, you’ll probably already have your favorite places. However, if this is your first trip to Sonoma, our Guest book provides suggestions on places to go and where to shop. In advance of your visit, if you'd like a recommendation, just let us know...
Evenings provide a great opportunity to un-wind from the day’s events. Do some reading, take a nap or choose one of the decks and enjoy a glass of wine and some appetizers before dinner. The sun sets off the back decks and one of our favorite times of day is when the sun drops behind the hills across the valley. After the sun sets over the hillside, you’ll still have about 45 minutes of daylight before the sun truly sets. The air is pure; evening and nighttime skies are simply beautiful…
To help you make your decision, Vie du Reve is most ideally suited for 2 or 3 couples. We realize that one house cannot fit everyone’s needs; therefore, we are an adult-only, no pets and a non-smoking household. While we love children, our 3 levels (including a spiral staircase to the entertainment room) would mean constant supervision. Also (and unfortunately) if any of your guests use a wheelchair or have mobility limitations, we want to remind you that our home has 3 levels. Although you’ll have plenty of privacy, you’ll be in a neighborhood with full time residents (who are wonderful) and you are not in a typical tourist area. Please enjoy our home respectfully and responsibly…
We’re glad you are choosing Sonoma Valley and we hope you choose Vie du Reve.
We want your trip to be a great one, so please make sure we answer all of your questions.

This place is awesome. The decks are great. Beds very comfortable. We spent 1 day touring Napa and 1 day touring Sonoma. We went into Sonoma for dinner. Great location. Host was very helpful with recommendations. Kitchen fully stocked with a welcome basket. I’d absolutely stay again!!

We had 4 family members visiting for a long weekend to Napa/Sonoma and the house was perfect for what we needed. We loved the welcome basket the hosts left for us and was such an appreciated surprise. Kitchen was awesome. Stocked with fresh coffee beans to grind and make fresh coffee every morning. Anything you could need really. Bedrooms were nice size and beds super comfortable. Bathrooms were great. Great showers and lovely products to use for hair and body. Views were beautiful in the morning to watch the sun come up on the balcony. Easy to get in and out of to venture out for dinners or to head out for the day for some sightseeing and/or wine tasting. Host had great recommendations and was very friendly and easy to work with. I would definitely recommend the house for your next trip to Sonoma/Napa.

6 of us spent a week at Jeff/Jackie's house in early October. Overall the home is inviting and the decks allow some awesome views. The beds, linens, towels, etc were all top notch and very comfy. They even had an extra toothbrush which was great because my husband forgot his. The hot water took a little to figure out, but Jeff was very responsive once we texted him. We cooked a big breakfast each day before wine tasting and found all the supplies that we needed available in the kitchen. My only suggestions to make it perfect would be to add some sort of fire pit / heater, so the patios can be used on cool evenings. Replace the spiral with a conventional stairs (after wine this became a little too treacherous) and add a few more kitchen towels. Overall it worked great for the 3 couples and I'd recommended this for your next trip! Norene G.

We have stayed at Jeff's home before and find it an excellent place to center yourself for your Sonoma/Napa adventures. A bit farther to Napa but lots of great stuff around the home. The home itself is situated on a hill and offers a great deck and plenty of common areas to enjoy. We have been to the home before and highly recommend it and would stay again if we return to the area. Jeff is also a wonderful communicator and keeps you up to date and offers great community suggestions.

We enjoyed everything about our stay! The house has everything you may need to feel like you are home. The location is very central to Napa, and the Russian river valley and Alexander Valley, making the drives to each very easy. The views from the house decks are beautiful. You are literally above the trees. It’s almost like being in a tree house! The house is clean, very comfortable beds and linens. It was a great place to come back to every evening to relax from our busy days wine tasting. The communication with Jeff was amazing. He was so responsive with any question, put together a great overview of the area of wineries, restaurants, and things to do in the area. Wonderful house, wonderful stay!

Everything you need is right here: kitchen is loaded, great recommendations from the hosts (accurate as well), and great patios and decks for relaxing and games. Central location to downtown Sonoma, the wineries and San Fran. Would book this place again, definitely

The house had everything we could ask for to make our stay comfortable.
Jeff was very responsive and helpful for checking in and checking out as well as provided a lot of local information for our stay. We ended up barely leaving the house other than for our tastings as we were able to cook all of our meals using the well stocked kitchen and grill!
Would definitely recommend staying at this location!

Great place to relax and unwind. The accommodations were great, beds were comfortable, no issues with hot water availability, and I especially appreciated the free snacks and wine! I also loved the workout equipment and the back porch. The whole trip couldn't have been better! The only issue I encountered was the hot/cold knobs in the tubs and sinks. They don't work as labelled, but the host was quick to respond and educate me on how to use them.

House was just as described and more! Awesome stay here - perfect for the 4 of us but would work for 3 couples too. We used the grill one night and sat on the decks until the chilly air brought us inside. Jeff was great and we never had to contact him as everything was communicated well in advance of our arrival. Highly recommend! 4th house we have stayed in while visiting wine country and it ranks at the top.

Three couples spent a week wine tasting and such with a comfortable, cozy home awaiting our return each day. After rushing around by day? It was relaxing to hang around our piece of picturesque Sonoma by night. Comfortable home, good amenities., great location. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay at 'Vie du Reve'. The house was just as pictured and advertised. It was clean and had everything we needed. A nice touch were the welcome treats of wine and assorted bakery items. We enjoyed the wine the 1st night and the bakery items the next morning since we didn't make it to the grocery store the first day. The house is located in a very nice and quiet neighborhood which is perfect to come back to after a long day out. It is very close to the town of Sonoma and many wineries which we took advantage of. Jeff was easy to communicate with and very helpful in recommending restaurants and wineries which we enjoyed. The entertainment room is a bonus that we did not get to use but we did enjoy the deck space. If ever we return to this area we would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The house was good. Good location in Sonoma Valley and close to the Plaza. House had absolutely everything you could want including spices, tin foil, paper towels, really everything. The decks were wonderful and outdoor spaces were nice. The “movie room” had a huge flat screen and was perfect for enjoying a few college FB games in the late afternoon and evening on Saturday. Overall, a really good stay!

Our stay in Sonoma was during the heat wave. Jeff was in communication with me with instructions on the best ways to keep the house cool. The extra fans helped and we were comfortable.
The house is very clean and well stocked.
The 75” TV was a real treat!

We stayed in this charming home during our vacation to wine country. It was centrally located, which gave us the opportunity to visit many lovely vineyards in Napa, Sonoma, Healdsburg and St Helena. The home was tastefully decorated and well stocked with everything we needed. Jeff was a thoughtful host and left us some wine, cheese and crackers, nuts and a delicious almond danish. If we had questions about anything he was very prompt in texting back. We had a wonderful time and look forward to returning next year.

The property was clean and well organized. Every detail was thought of to make our stay comfortable. The beds were incredibly comfortable and nicely made with high end linens and pillows. If possible-the actual property was even better than the pictures!!!
We had a few minor things when we first got there and Jeff was incredibly prompt in his responses and got everything squared away!!! He is a great host!!
If I am out in the area in the future I will definitely stay back here again!!!
Spectacular!

The house is absolutely amazing. It was my second time renting this place and as usual it was perfect. First of all, the location is more than great. Then, it has all the amenities you might need while traveling. The beds are so comfortable, which really allows you to wind down and relax. Even the decoration made us feel right at home.
We’ve really appreciated the simplicity of the check in process: no hassle, no silly steps, it’s super simple and worry-free.
I want to take the time to mention how lovely the hosts are: the communication with them is always respectful and very helpful, they really do everything they can so that you can enjoy your stay.
I wholeheartedly love this place and hope to be able to come back as soon as possible. As usual, thanks for an amazing stay!

We enjoyed our stay! I enjoyed sitting on the deck early in the morning with my coffee taking in the peaceful vista. In the evening we sat on either the deck off the main level or the lowest level with plenty of seating for the 6 of us. As other reviews said our hosts had many thoughtful things throughout the house, from ice bags to makeup remover cloths to warming bed to a goodie basket. We would love to come back!

This is a great house for friends or family to gather. The house is unique and beautiful. It is only 10 minutes away from Sonoma Square and very easy to travel to local vineyards. We stayed here for a week and enjoyed relaxing at the house as well as exploring all the gorgeous areas around Sonoma, Napa and the Pacific Coast.
Jeff our host, was extremely helpful with providing a plethora of information about the entire area and communication with him was a breeze. We felt well cared for and welcomed when we arrived to find goodies to greet us!
Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate enough for us to take advantage of the decks in the back, but that didn't stop us from relaxing inside where it was so cozy and comfortable.
We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the house. We would definitely rent here again!

My family and I (we were a party of 5) stayed for a week in this amazing house. The property is well tended, cozy, fully stocked with every day needs and up to date. The hosts were wonderful and extremely attentive. We arrived to a lovely welcome basket full off delicious treats. The location was perfect to head out to vineyards in Sonoma and just about 2 miles away from the Square where you find lots of local shops, restaurants, and wine tasting rooms. Most nights we stayed in with a good bottle of wine. My family and I hope to return when we travel back to Sonoma.

We had an awesome stay. Spending five days in the Sonoma region was a perfect 10th anniversary celebration. The house was super comfortable and the layout (three levels) allows you to enjoy views of the outdoor woodsy area from different levels--great for birdwatching. The lower deck is amazingly beautiful and the serenity is delightful. Overall, a great stay.

There were two couples in our party and the property was just perfect! Would have been great for 3 couples, as well. Great location for visiting both the Sonoma and Napa valleys! Just don’t go through the mountains when going from one to another, we learned the hard way. Jeff and Jackie were perfect hosts. Jeff answered my many questions in the weeks prior to our arrival. His suggestions for dining and sightseeing were spot on and very helpful. We arrived to a welcome basket of goodies and a bottle of wine with a cheese plate. So appreciated that after the long trip from Ohio! Overall, a beautiful property that we would definitely choose again!

Three couples stayed in this beautiful house for a week and were all very comfortable. It felt like a friend had given us the keys to their house - not like a rental that had 'rental' type furnishings. The inside spiral stairs down to the tv room and the deck were challenging but worth the trip - the huge deck had great seating and dining areas. There were also decks off the main floor and main bedrooms if you weren't up for the spiral stairs. The kitchen was also stocked like a friend's house.

I just returned from a lovely weekend with friends in Sonoma/Napa. This home is absolutely beautiful inside and has everything you could ever need. I felt like I was staying at someone’s private residence. Neighbors are also very nice! Jeff was extremely responsive. I would highly recommend.

This property was comfortable, well maintained and had gorgeous views. Everything you needed for a lovely vacation was at your fingertips. The decor of the home was right out of a magazine! Kitchen was well stocked and the home had beautiful decks for relaxing outside in the cool breezes that moved in after 7 pm. Location was the best, close to food, shopping and Sonoma Plaza. Food trucks and Donuts and Danish were right around the corner. Beds were super comfortable!!!

Hi! I stayed at this property with 5 other adults. The home was very clean and well stocked. We were greeted with a bottle of wine and a gift basket, which was greatly appreciated. There's a lot of space to sit together as a group and socialize after the wine tours. We especially enjoyed the many patios.
Jeff was also very helpful in providing a list of restaurant and winery recommendations. We were able to go to some of the places he recommended and had an excellent experience. As a first timer to Sonoma, his recommendations were very much appreciated.
Overall, a great experience and would highly recommend.

10 minutes from Sonoma and 30 from Napa with tons of space for 2 families, well furnished, and very clean. Jeff is easy to work with and incredibly descriptive of every question asked. A no-brainer for the next time we're in the area.

Lovely home, well located for exploring and enjoying the Sonoma Valley. The owner is great with pre-trip suggestions and detailed instructions to ensure comfortable stay at the property. Along with a bottle of wine and snacks awaiting us upon arrival! The views from the decks of the Sonoma mountains are breathtaking!
