As a frequent user of VRBO, this place is luxurious, spacious and private. Huge TV with streaming access. Beautiful back yard view with the joy of seeing an occasional fox, wild turkeys, bunnies and deer. Beautfully decorated with very comfortable seating. Gas fireplace. Restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping near-by. Louise and Martin are kind, responsive, respectful hosts.

We had a lovely stay. House was charming, spacious and clean, and the patio was a nice relaxing place to wind down at the end of the day. It is a short bike ride from the house to the bike trail or to downtown Stillwater. Such a cute town! Would definitely come back for another stay.

This is a beautiful property! It was also in the perfect location to be a quick trip to downtown or to various trails/restaurants/etc. while having no exposure to the summer weekend crowds!

Absolutely gorgeous setting, quiet and peaceful (in fact I felt like I was laughing too loud quite a few times!). The cottage is uniquely lovely with gorgeous wood furniture, beams and countertops and a cozy feel. There is English dinnerware and many awesome books! We saw a fox one morning on the lawn which I foolishly scared away by opening the door. Large and sunny windows look out onto the lawn, it was so nice to eat breakfast with the sun and nature views pouring in!
This is a perfect place for a quiet and relaxing vacation for one or two people. We went hiking or seeing friends that live in MN (or golfing for my husband) most days and came back to make dinner in the cottage. We are from FL and had hoped for a colorful and cool Fall vacation but it warmed up a lot. We did see some foliage in a few of the parks we hiked. I hope we can return at some point and stay here again. Like I said, it was a perfect place to sleep and relax after a day's adventures.

This is an immaculate cottage decorated by the owner, who is an English interior decorator by trade. It overlooks the St Croix River. It could not have been more charming.

A little piece of heaven and England in Minnesota - (from the spotlessly clean, cozy and comfortable French/English interior to the English country garden landscaping) it was absolutely perfect!
Louise and Martin have thought of everything! Every piece furniture to every dish is exceptional. Every necessity is carefully supplied and maintained. A little oasis away from everything while feeling right at home!
AND walkable to Stillwater - (only a mile) beautiful walking and biking paths - yummy restaurants, incredible views and a fabulous St, Croix River Valley to explore! We miss it already! Thanks to Louise and Martin for sharing their little piece of heaven with the rest of us!

This property is exactly as described. It is easily accessible to nearby downtown Stillwater, which is the cutest little town! I wish I could have enjoyed it more, but we had a blizzard during my stay. The owners checked on me regularly and cleared a path from the door to my car, cleaned off my car thoroughly and made sure the driveway was clear as well. Very accommodating and kind. The cottage was clean, well-stocked and organized. The bed was heavenly, and the heated floors kept it nice and cozy. I can't think of anything that I didn't have for my visit. I couldn't have asked for a better stay and hope to come again in better weather conditions. Thank you for sharing your cottage and your wonderful hospitatlity.

This was our second time this year at the cottage. There is no better place to stay in the Stillwater area. A quick drive into town, across the river to Wisconsin, and 25 minutes to the Twin Cities. So cozy with the gas fireplace and eclectic furnishings!

Beautiful first floor stay in a beautiful and cozy, well-decorated and clean chateau-like home. Completely private. We travel often and what stood out to us was how everything we needed was there. No need to run out for paper goods or soap, games were even provided and comfy robes. Thank you. Great hospitality!

Beautiful property
My best friend and I stayed here for 2 nights as a little girls getaway after we hosted my son's graduation. We needed some rest and quiet after a busy weekend and this property offered that! The scenery and surroundings are just beautiful. We drove into downtown and enjoyed walking around the small shops. Took a trolley ride to see the historic homes Stillwater has to offer. It was a lovely 2 days away and this space made it even more wonderful! I want to return with my husband now!

Perfect getaway
My partner and I loved the beautiful woodwork and decor of this little home away from home. The host left clear instructions on how to use the fireplace and the TV/DVD player. Lounging on the large couch and reading by the fireplace was especially delightful. Comfortable bed, and super soft towels. 10/10 would stay again.

Beautiful, quiet, nicely designed, everything you need. The driveway was in bad shape, that’s my only complaint.

Perfectly Peaceful
This stay was exactly what I needed. I am a stay-at-home mom of two rambunctious boys who booked this listing for eight nights of just-me time, and it fit the bill to a "t". I brought all the food I needed with me and chose to stay in the entire time, which I would highly recommend for a wintery stay. I brought puzzles, podcasts, and pajamas and spent my days at the kitchen table looking out at the snow and the suspension bridge going from Minnesota to Wisconsin. At night, the bridge was pleasantly alight, and the windows in the cottage were just the right size to take in the calm of it all.
I loved the French doors leading into the bedroom and the experience of pulling them open in the morning to flood the room with sunshine. The decoration in the cottage is so thoughtful and well-done. My favorite touch was the choice to put stacks of coffee table books everywhere. The overall curation of the decor lent a sense of peace and order to the place that was very welcome.
All in all, this was the best, most restful vacation I have ever had.

Such a cozy and neat place very close to town. Five stars! Louise was very responsive and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. They even shoveled when it snowed and brushed off our cars so they were ready to go in the morning. Thank you very much!
