About this house rental

Cottage home on the lake near downtown Stillwater. This little oasis is surrounded by trees and 400 feet of lakeshore. Watch the loons from the dock, take the kayaks out to see the wildlife, enjoy sunsets from the firepit or hammock, and hot tub under the stars. A path in the backyard can take you around the lake or to downtown Stillwater. The home has a cottage feel on the outside, but a modern aesthetic on the inside. It'll feel like a home away from home. We look forward to hosting you!
- Check-in is at 4pm and Check-out is at 11am.
- No more than 13 guests and 5 vehicles are allowed on the property at any given time, per city regulations. There is on-street parking and a parking lot available nearby if you have more than 5 cars.

Directions: Google maps is about 50/50 on accuracy. Either consider using another mapping app or follow the turn-by-turn directions in your stay guide for the most accurate directions.

Annual trip age range 84 to 53 Shopping amd relaxing with a lot of laughs This place was perfect! Clean!!! Having the majority of the bedrooms on the 1st floor was perfect. Everything was above what we expected. We have been doing this trip for quite a few years and this has been the best place we stayed at. Interacting with the host was an easy text with a fast response. Would easily give more than 5 stars

Beautiful property that feels secluded. Big enough for two couples to have separate space upstairs and down. Had so much fun checking out the canoe, hot tub and especially the hammock. So easy to head into downtown Stillwater, only a 4 minute drive. Beds were plush and so comfortable. Loved all the nature, tons of bird watching, a couple adorable rabbits, chickens, swans and cranes. Such a delightful vacation for all of us.

The cottage was so great - that we are going to book it again for next year!. Help with my computer problems was great - no complaints! Loved that everything worked and it was just lovely.

Beautiful spot and secluded even though located in a residential area. We enjoyed the firepit and access to the walking path. Beautiful sunsets over the lake were a bonus! Lots of sitting space. Kitchen well equipped, but would have appreciated more silverware. Great location to enjoy nature, but also close to the downtown attractions. Thanks again!

We had a fantastic stay at the cottage! The house was very clean and super comfortable for us. We made dinner and played games and enjoyed the outside one night and it was the perfect weekend! The property manager was easy to communicate with and very thorough, I had no questions or problems!

It was a wonderful experience, the house was an accurate listing, clean and when we had a small issue with a beeping noise in the house on arrival the host was prompt in replies. Came very quickly and was extremely friendly dealing with it! Would definitely stay here again!

It was a fabulous place for us to celebrate a 50th birthday for someone who wholeheartedly loves MN winter! It looked beautiful online, and then in person it was even better! We'd give it 10 stars if we could!

came to Stillwater for our niece's wedding. this was a perfect location close to the church and downtown and the hot tub was an extra special treat. would highly recommend and would stay here again!

This is a nice place, pretty unique. The kitchen was not that well stocked and the oven left uncleaned and unusable bc it was so dirty. But nice view and location for sure.

Great accommodations! Close to downtown (still requires an Uber). Driving up it seems to be close to the neighborhood, but once on the property it surprisingly feels very secluded and intimate. We had a wonderful time, everything was very clean and we would definitely stay here again!

We (seven women) have been tripping together for book club retreats for 18 years, and between us have a lot of additional experience with VRBO stays. Meadowlark is a comfortable cottage with inviting spaces and plenty of room for alone time as well. Management is very responsive. The location combines the beauty of nature and close proximity to historic downtown Stillwater.

We traveled from Cincinnati to Stillwater for our son's wedding. Meadowlark Cottage was the perfect place for our family! There was lots of room for all of us to talk and catch up. We enjoyed gathering around the big dinning room table to eat and play games! We took the canoe out a few times and enjoyed sitting around the firepit at night. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook with and enough plates and glasses for the whole gang. There was only a few spices so if you plan on cooking you will need to bring everything you will need. They had coffee to start off a couple of days which was greatly appreciated! The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of extra blankets! Nathan and Kathy were both very quick to respond to my emails. We needed some extra towels and Kathy brought them right over. The house is very close to downtown Stillwater which was perfect since the rehearsal dinner was at Brian's (the food was fantastic!) and the wedding was on Anastasia riverboat! I highly recommend Meadowlark Cottage and would definitely stay here again! Thanks Kathy and Nathan for a great VRBO!

The house is located on a lake in Stillwater, which is not suitable for swimming or floating. The location to the downtown area was perfect, just a few minute drive or could be walkable if you don’t mind a few hills. Several bedrooms provided lots of space for guests with a few common areas that had additional sleeping arrangements. The kitchen is well stocked to make your favorite meals. The hosts were very quick to respond to questions.

We booked this home to start our vacation in the MSP area. We went to different activities during the day then re-grouped later in the day/evening. It was a great and easy drive to MSP from this house. We went to Stillwater one day and loved the Lift Bridge and dinner at the Dock. We loved staying on the lake. The sunsets were amazing. We walked around the lake every day (almost 2 miles around) and my husband used the provided canoe, which worked out great. We used the washer/dryer which was helpful as we started a long road trip based out of this house. Having a bedroom in the basement was great for our oldest teenager to give him some privacy. We also used the hot tub and it worked great. I would definitely stay again if visiting the area.

This is our 8th summer staying at the cottage. My kids have grown up staying there and it feels like home when we are there. The setting of the cottage is our favorite. Private and the sunset over the lake is one you will never forget. Our family looks forward to staying here every summer. The town of Stillwater has so much to offer. Great restaurants, shopping and Nelson’s ice cream are among our favorites. You will not be disappointed.

Brought California family to experience MN lake life. Great time! Bedroom with two queen beds had air mattress as second queen which didn’t seem to stay inflated. Couldn’t find the oil for the tiki torches, but everything else was perfect. Very responsive hosts, beautiful views, lots of amenities. Would recommend, plus the family wants to come back. Thanks!

7 girlfriends stayed at the house. The accommodations were great. The table was great for dining and playing games. We used the sunroom in the morning for chatting and drinking coffee. There were enough beds to make us comfortable. The kitchen and pantry were stocked with everything we needed. The pantry was also a great asset with the extra sink! We loved the retro feel and looking at the water was calming. I would highly recommend this house for a group getaway! Two bathrooms

We cannot say enough about this hidden gem. It couldn't have been more perfect for our family! We loved the charm & character of the home but the outdoor scenery was stunning! The sunset over the water was breathtaking! We enjoyed the hot tub, canoe, kayak and the fire pit was perfectly positioned to enjoy the lake views. The beds were comfty. The kitchen was well stocked with what we needed and the pictures and online descriptions were very accurate! This rental far exceeded our expectations and we would love to come back if our travels bring us back to Stillwater! If you get a chance and love ice cream, you must visit Nelsons...trust me, you wont be disappointed!

We had a great stay. We were able to get an early check in which was outstanding for our group. 4 of us rented this property for playing BoardGames so we didn’t really use any of the amenities. All around a great place.

My sister and I brought our adult and teenage girls for a girls weekend. The house was perfect for making meals with a well equipped kitchen, close to shopping, great for movie watching and a walk around the water.

The VRBO was very clean and accommodating. My group of long-term friends enjoyed the overall charm of the home and its setting on the lake. Nathan, my contact, was always immediately available for response to any questions prior to our stay and while there. We hope to rent and enjoy again!
