THE LOOSE MOOSE LODGE
Come stay and get loose with the moose! Your home away from home in Estes Park, CO: family friendly, fun, and memorable! Outstanding Views! Perfect in every way!
Kick up your feet, relax, and enjoy this beautifully appointed, air conditioned, modern, three bedroom mountain lodge within walking distance to downtown Estes Park (1 mile) and only a five minute drive to the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park, where you will find some of the best hiking in Colorado.
This incredible lodge features a private, six person outdoor hot tub on the back patio and a gas fire pit and BBQ grill on the deck with a view of Prospect Mountain. The Big Thompson River can be accessed via two paths just 100 feet from the back door. Bring your pole and try your luck at fishing (catch & release) or simply enjoy a leisurely stroll down the river’s secluded pathway.
During the day you will enjoy the spacious great room with huge windows full of Colorado sunshine. During the evenings, you will enjoy the glow of the fireplace with comfy chairs and a beautiful leather sofa making this the perfect retreat to relax and slumber as adults enjoy a bottle of wine and kids enjoy some hot chocolate. The lodge is beautifully decorated by the owner with mountain and cabin-themed decor. There are three bedrooms: a main floor king master suite, a king guest bedroom, and a queen guest bedroom. This lodge sleeps six comfortably.
The chef in your group will relish in the company of their loved ones while whipping up their favorite recipes in the fully equipped kitchen. There is an elegant breakfast bar with seating for three and a kitchen table with seating for six. Additionally, this lodge is stocked with everything you need from linens, towels, board games, card games, movies, and books.
From the elevated deck or the lower patio, be prepared to encounter deer or elk grazing throughout the neighborhood. If you are lucky, you might see a moose (on the loose), bighorn sheep, mountain goats, and maybe a mama black bear with cubs. Wildlife frequents this area so keep your eyes open and your camera ready.
Be sure to find the gondola during the summer; it goes up Prospect Mountain and offers breathtaking views of the continental divide, the national park, and the entire Estes Park valley. Don’t forget to visit Fun City and enjoy the bumper boats and bumper cars, mini golf, a giant slide, a bungee trampoline, and go-cart racing. Also visit the super fun aerial obstacle course of the Open Air Adventure Park. Some Estes Park attractions are closed seasonally, so please check availability online. Note: Estes Park has a free shuttle network that goes all over the town and into the National Park. In general, the shuttles run late June to mid-September. When you're here, you can leave the car parked in the garage to avoid the traffic of downtown and walk to your favorite restaurants, bars and shops (1 mile).

Been coming to stay at this home in Estes for the past 6 years at least for my bday weekend. Nate and his family always leave me a warm welcome. The place is always so clean and beautifully decorated and has everything you need while you stay! I hate to tell anyone else about it because one year, I couldn't get it for my birthday lol. Anyhow I love it here!

We stayed here for a wedding in town. The house was very clean and nicer than we have come to expect from a rental. The view is beautiful and there is a little path down by the creek that leads right to a great coffee shop with a duck pond. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.

We absolutely loved this place! It was very clean and thoughtfully equipped with everything you would need. Amazing location! Loved the deck, hot tub, and incredible views. Enjoyed the peaceful walk to the coffee shop. This was by far the best place we have ever stayed in. We will definitely be back!

This home was super comfortable and perfect for our party (6 adults). It was clean and very well stocked with all the things necessary for a multi day stay. It was well situated to downtown Estes Park and RMNP. Several trails in the part were a short 10min drive. Entirely happy with our choice!

This property was well suited for our extended family gathering, which consisted of grandparents, mom/dad, and 2 children 9/7. The grandparents were comfortable in the ground floor master suite, while mom/dad and the kids had there own space in the walk-out downstairs suite. The kitchen/dining/living room was beautifully setup with windows galore and the kitchen was well stocked which served our purposes as we mainly cook in. Access to a short (0.5 mile) river trail was excellent, although the property itself was not adjacent to the river as we thought it was from the advertisement. Not a huge deal but caught us slightly by surprise. The neighborhood was very quite, and was situated on the west side of downtown Estes. Overall this was a great experience for us and we would consider staying at this property for another visit in the future and/or recommending it to friends. Thank you.

We saw SOOO many elk, and enjoyed the large bull keeping the young buck away from his girls, lol!

This was a great option for 3 couples celebrating anniversaries. We cooked several times in the very well appointed kitchen, the bathrooms were spotless and the beds were SO comfy. Every detail was well thought out and the hosts even had a welcome card and gift for us when we arrived as well as some snacks and wine. We were so impressed that we would definitely come and stay again should we be in Estes. Thanks for a great weekend full of spectacular morning views and meals with friends.

One of the best vacation rentals we’ve stayed in! The property is beautiful, close to RMNP and town. Thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. They thought of everything from Tide Pods to hiking poles. The hot tub was wonderful after a day of hiking. Can’t wait to visit again!

My friends and family go up every year to celebrate my birthday. We used to stay at other places until I found this one in 2019! Love it here, the owners truly take pride in their home and I truly take pride in taking care of their home and enjoying it when visiting! Always a great getaway from the heat in the Denver Metro area! Thanks!

The location is excellent with beautiful views and close proximity to the Big Thompson River. From the initial contact advising of the importance to book park entry in advance to all of the welcome gifts this should be your first choice if looking for a beautiful home in Estes Park. By far the best VRBO experience ever!

This house was beautiful with amazing views and an awesome location! We were close enough to downtown without having to be stuck in the crowds and RMNP was super close. The hosts were quick to respond and the house had everything we needed. We would love to stay here again!

I have been using VRBO for more than a decade and this property was by far the very best I have ever rented. To start, it was exactly as the listing stated. To call the place clean is an understatement. Immaculate would be a better word. The owners definitely love and care for the place. And I have never seen a better appointed rental.
We love to cook, and found there was nothing lacking in the kitchen. The cookware was in fantastic shape and had everything we needed. There was a full (I mean, VERY full) spice rack which was wonderful. It seemed that all we needed was provided. It was the best kitchen experience in any rental I have ever had.
The rest of the unit was equally well stocked. Hand soap and tissues at every sink, laundry goods, bath items, and on and on.
The location was perfect. It was an easy walk into downtown Estes. There is an amazing coffee shop (Coffee on the Rocks) just a short walk away. In addition, a small but great grocery store (The Country Market) and liquor store are a very short drive (or walk) away - and in the opposite direction of town. Very easy access to Rocky Mountain National Park, again, without having to go through town.
Overall, I could not more highly recommend a property for anyone looking for a perfect trip to Estes Park and RMNP!!

This property is comfortable, cozy, and super clean. It is well stocked with all the items you need for a calm and relaxing vacation. The owners have really thought of every small detail to make their guests comfortable. The property is in a great location - close to the bear meadow entrance to Rocky Mountain national park, and less than a mile to downtown Estes park.

This house was perfect...I literally can’t think of one thing that could have made it better. Clean, comfortable, homey, beautiful and great views. The location is great, not in the middle of town but just a short couple of minutes to RMNP and the downtown area. Walking the river to the coffee shop or relaxing in the hot tub were just a few things that made our stay so special. The owners were great to communicate with and even sent us a few items we had left behind. This house is a 10!! We can’t wait to stay here again!

We had an amazing return trip to this amazing home while visiting RMNP. My wife and I along with our kids (25,24 &13) thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful well-appointed home with great proximity to both the park and village area of Estes Park. The place itself is immaculate and has everything one could need while enjoying RMNP as well as the Thomspon River and walkable to town. Grocery store is a quarter mile away. Great restaurants within a half mile. The hottub was great after long hikes. Elks and marmot and birds were viewed while soaking. One evening, an elk was within ten feet of the tub grazing on wildflowers! Lots of big trout were caught and released in river. My wife & sons would walk along river to coffee shop to get drinks and feed the ducks in the pond at the shop. The beds were super comfy and the layout was perfect for the 5 of us. We can't wait to return again!

Book this if you can. Well decorated, clean, and all the little extras (like a generous supply of basic household products) provided by the host. Large windows with automatic shades allow ample light and mountain views for the first floor living room/kitchen area. The location is perfect - in between the park entrance and downtown, and near the gentle mountain river with a short path to the cute coffee shop. Highly recommend.

Perfect stay!
We took an extended weekend trip to Estes Park with our 2 kids over July 4th. The house is perfect- very clean, comfortable beds, and everything you could possible need. There are restaurants within walking distance, and a nice little path by the stream to a coffee shop, rock shop and gift shop. On our walk we also got to see several elk hanging out by the water. The drive into RMNP is a quick 5 mins. Highly recommend!

Truly exceptional home - both well maintained and well stocked! The owners have thought of every detail to make your stay comfortable - hot tub, games, well stocked kitchen and more! The location was also outstanding - 5 minute drive to downtown Estes Park or RMNP and within walking distance of Coffee on the Rocks! Loved all of the amenities, including garage parking, and saw lots of elk from the deck! Highly recommend!

Amazing attention to detail
We booked this property for a group of gal friends trip and it was perfect!! We have rented many properties all over the US and this was the cleanest and most organized we have ever seen. The decor was beautiful, furniture and beds were very comfortable, location was close to everything, hot tub was perfect after our hikes and horseback riding in the mountains. Owners are very responsive and had thought of every detail of things to provide. We couldn't have asked for a more wonderful home to stay in. So many things to do in this area, but we could have just stayed in this awesome house the whole time and it still would have been a great trip! We would definitely rent this home again!!

National Park Vacation
This property was definitely one of the nicest places we've stayed. It was "as advertised" as well as true to all the reviews I read about the property. It was very comfortable, spotlessly clean, and well equipped with anything you could possibly need. Snacks, water and a bottle of wine greeted us after a long day of travel. All other necessities including laundry detergent, shampoo / conditioner, toothpaste, and even masks, were available. Tons of games were stocked, as well. The house is beautifully decorated and overlooks nice property (including a beautiful creek) that attracted some lovely elk. It is close to town, yet peaceful and away from tourists. We would definitely return to this house!
