Was worried and set the bar so low for this home due to some not great reviews, well they are wrong, this house is beautiful and clean and the best location waterfront property!
It does have bany items, a high chair and crib but its not baby proofed.
Also bring water shoes for the water lots of shells to look for!
Emma was a great host! We would definitely stay here again! Firepit was wonderful and amazing view!!

Property is beautiful but house needs some updating and better cleaning. Dishwasher doesn’t open all the way so it’s very hard to do dishes. Place was pretty dirty overall and killed several cockroaches in the kitchen during our stay. Several Pool balls were missing so it was hard to play a proper game. Wish I had known this and would have just brought a set.

This was a fantastic location and great beach access. Plenty of room for a group of girlfriends looking for a fun long weekend. Plenty of seating, lighting and bedrooms. As noted, very easy access to the a deserted beach area.
The house, as noted in previous comments, has not been cleaned thoroughly in some time. There was hair in an upstairs shower, cobwebs, the dishes were dirty, and the tablecloth looked like it had gone to war with spaghetti and lost.
While we were sent check in instructions, they were not accurate, and we had to contact the property manager, who did respond after our second attempt at contact.
The other negative we had was the 10a.m. check-out, which was my fault as I did not review that until the day before we left. All other homes I have rented had an 11a checkout.
For the money being charged, I would recommend extending check out one hour and getting a company in that actually cleans. The house would then be 5 stars.

The property was amazing. Trips on the ferry back and forth to Seattle were fun with the kids. The beach was a lovely place to look for shells and the house was perfect for what we needed. Thank you for an amazing stay.

Me and some girl friends stayed at the house for the weekend. Me and one other girl arrived first, when we arrived there were dirty socks on the porch, there were keys in the door but the door was not locked. The walkway from the gravel (where you park) to the house was so mossy and slippery bringing our bags and food inside was a little dangerous (the front deck was also so slippery but there was a railing to hold). The fridge doesn't have a handle or rails on the door so there is about a quarter of the storage because you can't store anything in the door. The dishwasher can't open all the way so loading it was not easy..... actually frustrating. The part of the cabinets that you use to open door is so dirty... like years and years and years of use dirty. It was really gross to open the cabinet and get a plate out, after you open the door you feel like you need to wash your hands. The living room décor is very dated (which is fine) but almost all of us sneezed when we sat on the couch or chairs in the livingroom. I washed every plate and cup before we used them because none of them were really clean. The pots and pans were so used and really really really need to be replaced.
PRO- location location location. It is tucked back and the views were great. Although the windows were so oxyidated you couldn't enjoy the view from the livingroom. The beds were also comfortable. The beach access was 10/10.
I also received a text from the owner (not the location host) and you can tell that the family is very very connected to the memories made in the house to the point that they may not be able to update the house with fear that the memories made over the years will be lost. The photos do not depict how dated the cabin is which is mildly frustrating.
Although we had an amazing time I will not ever return.

4 Generation gathering to celebrate an early Thanksgiving. Comfy, well loved and cozy house. Great deck and beach area. We had a wonderful weekend.

Pros -
- Waterfront property nicely tucked way back off an already quiet road with easy access to the beach.
- Water views of Agate Pass from the bedrooms, living/dining, and main level deck.
- Recent reviews are pretty accurate and should properly set (low) expectations - somebody apparently read them as there were newer plastic Adirondack chairs and good batteries in all the flashlights.
- Generous cancelation policy.
Cons -
- Parking area and surrounding yard are a mass of weeds and overgrown brush.
- The area under the deck which is visible from the fire pit has a bunch of scattered debris and beach toys.
- The upper deck is off limits due to its deteriorated state - inexcusable in my opinion for a waterfront rental.
- Biggest issue is lack of timely communication. The out-of-state owners have the property managed by Evolve. First message to Evolve with a question about the property was finally answered 3 weeks later with "contact the local host, Heather". Emails to the local host then went unanswered as well. The day before arrival, I emailed both the property manager and the local host about check-in instructions again with no reply. After finally texting the local host at 10:30 the night before arrival, she replied quickly with the door code. (The door with the key code buttons is on the left side of the house by the way.)
Summary -
- Just to reiterate what another reviewer said, there are NOT 3 full baths as the listing incorrectly states. There are only 2 1/2 baths: full master bath and a hall powder room on main level; full hallway bath on 2nd floor.
- Also previously mentioned in the reviews, fridge still has no door handle or interior door shelving limiting its usability for larger/longer gatherings.
- Yes, it's very dated with a ton of deferred maintenance, but the bedrooms were comfortable enough for sleeping, and we spent most of our time anyway on the main deck when we were there.
- The yard is now much more overgrown than reflected in the exterior photos, and the round glass table and dark green plastic chairs in the photos are no longer there. Other than that, you can pretty well see what you’re signing up for.

The location of this property is really cool with fantastic scenery. It seems to us, however, that the property owners are not doing enough to maintain the home/property considering the cost of renting the place. As we scroll back and read others' reviews, we found many of the same issues:
* dirty, stained, out-dated carpets
* an upper deck that is off limits due to disrepair
* kitchen cook/bakeware is very limited and old
* The wilderness feel of the place is fantastic but overgrown. It seems like no maintenance to the property is being done.
* For the cost of this rental, I would look elsewhere until this place gets updated.

This was such a disappointment. Let me start my saying view and location is fabulous! But the home is very dated. Kitchen needs a complete update fridge had no handle, inside door no racks. The pantry is dated with old kitchen utensils and pans. We had a total of 6 towels in the house for a week stay with 6 adults. Carpets had large stains throughout. Bathroom rugs had not been wash before we arrived. Sheets were clean but very old. Upstairs decking couldn't use because of signs saying danger keep off. No screens on widows upstairs. So called fire pit had a plastic crate for a chair , second deck going down to beach had 2 old plastic chairs and a use wagon. There has been no maintenance what so ever on the entry or walkways. Vrbo was very prompt in handling are complaints and towels were delivered the next morning. It could have been so much better if a little care was given to this beautiful location .

Lovely Views
Quirky home that is well loved. Great for families with kids. We enjoyed the firepit. Property needs quite a bit of maintenance inside and out. Overall we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. NOTE: there is only 2.5 bathrooms!!

Cute rustic retreat!
This was a nice property at a fair value. Very spacious and clean. Only downside was - property is very overgrown and you can’t use the upstairs balcony because it is rotting off. Pictures online are a bit deceiving. Even with these downfalls it was a nice, comfortable stay.
3.0 / 5.0
Nice view but the property needs refreshing.
The view was excellent and we saw eagles and sea lions playing in the water. There was a constant parade of boats in Agate Pass.
But, the property is very dated and needs some improvement. There were several unsafe features. The upper balcony was rotted and a sign was posted to stay off the balcony. A baluster for the stairs was missing so a child could fall through. The teflon pans were scratched so if you cooked you would be consuming teflon.
Other annoyances included: The dishwasher was situated so that the door could not open completely. Several of the windows facing the water were fogged obscuring the view. The hand rail for the steps to the beach was not sturdy, making it precarious to go down to the beach. The gas grill did not work and was very dirty. The sheer curtains in the primary provided no privacy from the main living room.
We will look for a nicer property the next time we book, but again the location was excellent.

Spacious house, excellent views, and perfect location on the island
My bookclub and I (6 of us) stayed here for the weekend and we all agreed it wasn't long enough. Between having ocean views out of all the bedroom windows, including the living room, dining room and kitchen, to being right above the waters edge, it was a dreamy, scenic place to hang out and relax. The views from the master bathroom, and double jacuzzi tub were spectacular as well. There were plenty of heaters throughout the house to keep it a comfortable temp and the bed I slept in (master bedroom) was soft and cozy. The kitchen had everything we needed and then some. The wraparound deck was perfect for watching the wildlife frolic in the water and birds fly overhead. We didn't have a chance to play pool, but we did play a tune on the upright piano. We never could get the gas burning stove to open, but a fire sounded nice. The beach had lots of treasures at low tide, especially, and we all adored the Eagle Harbor bookstore and downtown area. MORA ice cream was delicious and worth a stop in. Seattle was a fun outing both days we were there, but honestly next time I'd like to plan for more downtime at the house. I miss the relaxing atmosphere, friendly island folks, and beautiful landscape. Can't wait to go back!

Cozy cabin on the water
If you’re looking for a cozy stay, this place is great. And you have your own beachfront! We loved and made good use of the fire pit and strolled down to the beach for sunsets. The home is older and not modern, but it’s right for a larger group who doesn’t need anything fancy. Lots of kitchen appliances, good water pressure, good heating system. Highly recommend the area for a fall trip - colors were incredible!

QUALITY Stay
My wife and I were looking for a place to unwind for 4 days/3 nights. Boy did we score! This home was in a perfect location on a quiet part of the island, down a long driveway surrounded by dense greenery, on the water, wrap around deck, big jacuzzi tub, BBQ, any household good/cutlery/etc. we needed, QUIET...... We loved our stay and we're already planning a return. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

It was LESS THAN!
Beautiful view of water but majority of windows had leaky seals and it looked as if you were looking through a fog. Get new windows. Stove light broken, pans were old and some rusty, fridge light broken, fridge door had no item holders so it was impossible to use it for space, only one ice tray. They had four flashlights - none turned on. Toilet handle had human fluids on it. White towels were dingy gray, no wash clothes. To open dishwasher up you had to first open stove door and even then dishwasher only half opened. Deck and deck furniture needed to be blown off. Loaded with evergreen needles and slippery and dangerous. Would give it two stars and way overpriced.

Beautiful and Comfortable
The house has a lot of family history and is very comfortable. The beds were so comfortable we all slept in way past our usual wake up time. The location couldn’t be better. We rented kayaks that were delivered to us so we all could paddle all over the place. Be careful of the currents. The house itself is huge and very comfortable. It’s great for families. If you’re looking for modern, swanky, high end this place is not for you. This place feels like a cozy home where you can kick back, relax and enjoy each other. We loved it and will be back!

Great view
We enjoyed our stay, its an older property with an interesting history. The beach was really fun and the views are awesome. The house could have been cleaner, the cleaners may not have finished before we arrived. The beds were very comfortable.

Nice quirky place
We had a nice time staying at this property and it was a great value for our family of 9. The layout was a little quirky but functional. The location was wonderful, right on the water. The beds where pretty comfortable after some long days. And management was quick to respond to the few questions we had.
Our only challenge was in the kitchen. We like to make a lot of our own meals and for the size of our family it was a little difficult. We had some trouble finding the right size and amount of pots and pans.
Thank you for everything.

Breathtaking views!
When we first arrived and came around the corner the view took our breath away! The home is located on the Puget Sound, Agate Passage, surrounded by trees. We were a group of 5, 93-year-old dad, 3 sisters and brother, and wanted to spend time together after this crazy year. We stayed 10 days and loved every moment. June is beautiful here!
All four bedrooms have views of the water and are very comfortable. We enjoyed having our morning coffee and evening drinks on the deck and dinner on the large dining room table. The kitchen worked great for us and with it being an open floor plan we could all enjoy each other’s company while preparing the meal. The family room was comfortable and the fire place was great. We loved feeling like we were staying in a family home rather than a rental. There were old family photos and history that went with the house.
We spent a lot of time on the deck and at the beach watching the otters, seals, bald eagles, Canadian geese, and looking for crabs and starfish. We never made it to Seattle but spent our days visiting places in Bainbridge, driving to Olympic National Park, Port Townsend, Poulsbo, sailing and enjoying each other’s company.
Heather, manager, was so helpful with questions that I had and was quick to respond. Check-in was easy, enter the code and you are in.
We loved this vacation and are already taking about coming back!

Excellent location
Loved the spaciousness of the home - it had a real authentic cabin feel. The fireplace was wonderful and wood supplied. Kitchen and linens were well stocked but not as clean as we would come to expect. Being on the water was spectacular. Lovely experience. Thank you for sharing your historic home.

We enjoyed our stay during our visit to Bainbridge Island. Home is a waterfront with beautiful views. My partner liked the home's history , definitely had a "family" vibe to it. Nice to discover home has been in the same family for 6 generations.

President's Weekend Getaway with extended family
We were a party of 8 from ages 4 months to 96 yrs old! Having a son-in-law recently moved to Ft. Lewis and additional family in the Seattle area, we thought it would be fun to come and visit and find somewhere that was in an area that was different for us and able to just enjoy the water/quiet/family time. My dad, 96 and I flew in from Kansas and we all met up for a couple of nights here. This was a wonderful place for us to gather and the children, 3 and 8, loved walking the beach and collecting shells during low-tide. The big table was wonderful for playing card games in the evening and having a chance for everyone to gather. Having a crib was a plus and if our little had been older, it was great having a high chair.
We made a fire outside in the pit and the children roasted marshmallows and made s'mores and even though the weather was chilly, we were fortunate that there wasn't a lot of rain that weekend. I also have a nephew and wife who live on Bainbridge, so they came over to BBQ as well as my sister and husband from Edmonds. The space allowed for us to have a wonderful family dinner without crowding.
There were a couple of small things, certainly not problems, but every time I messaged the contact person, they got back with me within 5 minutes or so. The dishwasher does not open all of the way, but we figured out if we opened the stove door that the dishwasher would open further. Also the refrigerator door would not shut completely with the lower bin in, but it looked like someone had previously tried to tape it and maybe it just wasn't lined up correct. Anyway, when we removed the bin, it worked just fine. We had no paper towels or napkins, so that was a minor issue which we took care of on the next trip to the store the following morning.
Granted, it was winter and not a major time for occupancy so we realized that all the leaves, etc may not always be in the way. It was a bit slippery to unload but one of our guys took a broom and rake and swept everything off and cleared a safer path for people to walk.
We loved our stay here and would certainly recommend it to others. In fact, we would love to have the opportunity to return maybe this summer when we get back to visit. Thank you for sharing your place with us and helping us make some wonderful family members with my dad and his grands/great grands. (My mom passed away in December, so this was a welcome retreat!) Island Rustic Charm
We had a wonderful time in this amazing beach family home. We rented kayaks and enjoyed the Puget Sound all day. In the evening we made a fire and roasted smores. Couldn't think of a better way to spend our vacation. The history of this family home is impressive. Thank you for sharing your home with us .

nice but needs a few improvements for safety
We had a nice time, but many lightbulbs were burned out and we had to replace them. Most importantly, the outdoor light by the front door. The property needed raking, new gravel (very muddy), and outdoor lights (suggest motion censored) for the driveway area at night, which is very dark. Paths need pressure washing going all the way to the beach as they are slippery. Drinking water is sulfur smelling and needs filtering. Also suggest window coverings on bedrooms and bathroom downstairs that block the light more. Also the bbq grates are rusted and need replacement.

Comfortable home, awesome view
We rented this house for some of my family members to stay in during a family wedding weekend. The house was comfortable and mostly clean, and well stocked with everything they needed. My stepmother commented that the mattress in the master bedroom was so nice that they were trying to find out what kind it was so she could get the same one back home! The soaking tub in the master was very nice, too. The rest of my family shared the upstairs bedroom and bathroom, and everyone was able to get to the church on time for the wedding in Port Gamble, another nice place to visit while you're in the area.
The house is conveniently located between the shopping/dining area in Winslow and the Norwegian town of Poulsbo, and we spent time in both places. It is easy to find, and the long driveway gives privacy. The grounds are very pretty, and the upstairs bedrooms all have access to a deck. The owners provided lots of local information, too. The neighborhood is nice for walking, and it is very close to the Bloedel Reserve-- we didn't have time to visit, but if we come back for a less structured vacation, we would definitely stay here again and take advantage of more of what the area has to offer. As it was, we did eat at several restaurants-- Harbour Public House and Treehouse Cafe on Bainbridge, and the Wood Fired Pizza place (not sure of the exact name), the Green Light Diner and Sluy's bakery in Poulsbo, and we would recommend all of them!
My dad was happy that he could watch football games on TV and we also had HGTV on for a while, so everyone was happy.
The layout on the main floor is open-- kitchen, dining area, sitting area and pool table share one large space. There is also seating out on the deck, which we didn't really take advantage of because of the weather.
I'll bet this would be an awesome place to stay during better weather, when you could really hang out on the deck and the beach and have fun in the water. We had rain and colder weather, and we still enjoyed this house.
The owners were responsive when we had questions.
Yes, I would recommend this house.

Our group really enjoyed our stay here! The deck and view were amazing and the easy access to the water was great. We also loved that there was a dining room table large enough for our whole group to sit at together. Thanks so much for sharing your property.

Beautiful location - needs deep cleaning!
Wonderful location right on Puget Sound. Beautiful views from the deck. House is rather scary looking as you arrive down the wooded drive with several large thorn bushes brushing the car as things are fairly well overgrown. It's a good thing I called and got the master code for the entry door as the code I was told to use did not work. Dirty rag was hanging on the banister near the kitchen. Kitchen counter top had a nasty smear on it which we had to clean up right away. Looked similar to a coffee spill. Most of the furniture is old and the shower in the older section of the house does not drain well so you are left standing in dirty water. Tub is slippery and should have a non-slip mat or some other way of preventing slips. The door to the outside at the top of the first flight of steps was unlocked when we arrived. Plenty of towels and washcloths. Beautiful location but seems overpriced for the condition it's in.

Great Visit, Beautiful Setting
The house is situated at the end of Bainbridge Island and it is a spectacular location. The property has been in the owner's family since the early 1900's and it is very spacious, homey, and good for kids. There is an amazing grocery store 15 minutes away so we ate all our meals at the house. We had a wonderful stay.
