About this cabin rental
NEW BUILD FOR 2019! 27 Peaceful ACRES, on OTTO LAKE and the base of MT HEALY
NEW BUILD READY for 2019 summer season! Denali Wildlife Caribou Cabin,, just 10 miles north of Denali National Park and 3 miles south to our quaint town of Healy. We are a little over a mile off the Parks Highway, most of that private road - watch for the moose they will probably be standing in the road watching you. We sit tucked away on 27 wooded acres surrounded by state land, at the base of Mt Healy and Otto Lake. With the seclusion, tranquil privacy and the amazing panoramic mountain views you get the "Alaska Wilderness" feeling that so many people worldwide come to our beautiful state hoping to find. With great hiking and Otto Lake right out your door, the abundance of wildlife that comes thru at any given time,, moose, caribou, Alaska hare, red fox, wolves, bear, owls. Don't be surprised if your sitting on your deck taking in the awesome views in the evening and you hear a wolf howling or the sound of owls - hoot back at the owls and they'll respond!
The Caribou Cabin is one of several situated on our tranquil wooded acreage, all are studio style cabins themed after wildlife in Denali National Park, new and built this winter/spring. They are luxury with a touch of rustic, so whether you head down to Glitter Gulch to do some shopping, go out your cabin door on a wilderness hike, picnic by the lake, or on your deck, BBQ (charcoal and propane provided) or sit by the fire ring relaxing ( firewood provided), roasting marshmallows to make smores (everything you'll need will be in the pantry :)). We designed and built our cabins with your comfort and relaxation in mind,,,,, each cabin has 2 plush queen pillow top beds, therapeutic pillows (that won't give you a neck ache) ceiling fans when you want that slight breeze in your room, Italian Tile and hard wood flooring, nice dining room table to eat on and play games on, kitchenette's that have microwaves, refrigerators/freezers, keurig coffee makers, toasters, sinks, dish soap and kitchen towels also a few other small kitchen appliances, but they DO NOT have stoves in them. They have big showers, soap, shampoo, conditioner and nice thick towels, I look forward to making your Alaska trip a relaxing, memorable one. I will email you detailed driving directions and the key code for the key-less entry key pad 30 days prior to your arrival

We had a fantastic time during our stay. It was incredible to see a moose right outside our cabin. The cabin was exceptionally clean, and Lacy was incredibly friendly and helpful

This was the perfect spot to explore Denali National Park from!

The property was well stocked and only a 15 minute drive to the Denali entrance! I would definitely stay there again!!!

Easy check in and out, no issues at all. Nice setting, quiet, away from the road, w other cabins closeby. A good location for Denali park and restaurants in Healy. The place was clean but did smell strongly of cleaning products. The posted rules about sorting towels and sheets before leaving were a bit much

Beautiful and extremely well built and maintained cabin located in Alaskan wilderness plus all the comforts of home including great internet and TV connections. Highly recommend staying here if visiting Denali NP.

Place was clean and check-in was easy. I'd stay here again!

The property was easy to find and the driveway from the main road gives you an off the beaten path feel. The cottages are spaced apart so you have good privacy. Inside everything is clean and modern. Beds are comfy. Blinds do a decent job blocking out the midnight sun. While the kitchenette doesn’t have a stove/oven we were able to make really good meals on the gas grill provided by the owners. Views of surrounding mountains are beautiful and there is pretty lake you can walk to that is on the property. I highly recommend this as a base camp for visiting Denali area and we would stay here again.

The cabins (we stayed in Caribou) were beautifully made and perfectly located for getting into and out of Denali every day for any adventures you want to get to in the park. About a 15 min drive to the entrance and right on the edge of the town of Healy for any groceries/items you might need. Lacie was very welcoming and the views from the cabin/everything it is outfitted with make it perfect for hosting a family/friends trip in which you can grill out and have a blast.

Great stay at Caribou cabin! Plenty of space and good location. Secluded but close enough to surrounding activities. Wonderful host and beautiful setting! Highly recommend!

Nice, clean cabins in Healy, just north of Denali (about 20 minutes.) There is no stove or range available but there is both a propane grill and a charcoal grill with supplies, along with a fire pit. It even had smores makings! It is actually set up more like an extended stay hotel room rather than a small house as the 2 queen beds are on the left wall and the kitchenette is on the right wall of the same room, with a kitchen table and chairs in the middle. The bathroom has a barn door separating it. (Just good to know as it kind of makes it so everyone is in one area without a separate walled-in bedroom area.) There are 5 or 6 of these same cabins in a row, but otherwise you are pretty remote. Beautiful location! Great host! Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at these lovely cabins near Healy and really enjoyed having a beautiful lake to walk to and being so close to Denali! The drive was easy and LaCie’s directions were perfect. Stay here if you are more into glamping.

A very stunning place. Tucked away by its self with wildlife and beautiful views. Very clean and well furnished cabin. I perfect place for me and my wife’s get away. We could have stayed there for months. We loved it !!!

We had a wonderful stay at Caribou Cabin! The setting is peaceful and quiet, with gorgeous views of the mountains all around. It only takes about 10 minutes or so to get to the Park entrance, and less than that to the little community of Healy in the opposite direction. Lacie has thought of so many details that made it significantly more comfortable than many cabin rentals (drinking water, hair dryer, cooler and ice packs,Kcups and Keurig, basic spices, paper plates even S'MORES ingredients!) The beds were very comfortable, with soft linens and plenty of GOOD pillows, blackout shades were helpful to block out the midnight sun.Screens on all the windows so you can get fresh air (without mosquitoes!) and if you are cold natured there is a good space heater. The kitchenette has a good sized fridge, freezer and microwave, full size sink, Keurig and big toaster. No oven or stovetop,so just don't bring groceries that need those.Since we mainly only eat quick and easy stuff on vacation, this was perfect for our plans. We did not use it due to heavy windy conditions and some jam packed days of hiking, but there is even a very nice grilling and fire pit area in front of the cabins. There is a nice quiet lake just a quick walk away.Lacie was easy to communicate with and is very helpful if any issues or questions arise. Overall, this was a fantastic rental and I would not hesitate to book again next time we are in the area. I think it would be great to come back and visit in the snow!

Exactly how it was listed. High end everything with a rustic wilderness setting. Close to Denali. Just like it is listed there is no stove or cooktop. Great beds and shower is top notch.

The cabin we stayed in was the Caribou. It was recently built within the last few years and is in pristine condition. The location of the property is fantastic, and is wonderful for those that want to get off of the beaten path and away from the institutionalized tourist approach. The hosts were very accommodating, and we enjoyed speaking with them about local tidbits, as well as getting to know them. The owners are hard-working, and will certainly do what they can to make sure that if you have anything that needs attention, they will be there.

We really enjoyed our stay! Owner thought of every little detail and provided great accommodations. Location is perfect to visit Denali, only about 8 miles away.

Cozy, comfortable cabin, beautiful area, and close to Denali park. Owner is very helpful and kind, cabin was super clean and kitchen was well stocked. We heard wolves close by one night and saw the northern lights later that same evening. Would definitely stay here again.

The cabins were perfectly updated and clean but still had a wilderness rustic feel to them. I loved this stay

Nice setting, reasonably convenient to Denali NP and away from any tourist activity. Great views of a moose cow with calf from the cabin door and later on a walk to the nearby private lake.

We loved being out of town in a beautiful setting! On our last night there, we were able to see a moose and her calf! The cabin was well stocked with what we needed.

Great Cabin
I really liked this cabin. Dark shades, two spacious beds, table to eat at, tv channels, fridge, and a nice bathroom. There isn’t a stove but that was okay with us. They gave us bottled water. Road is bumpy on the way in but we drove slow. Close to Denali! Would stay here again!

Wonderful stay
Lacy is a wonderful host. Great communication and very helpful not only about the cabin but overall stay; where to go for groceries, when the Northern Lights gonna come out, areas to go, etc. I was very pleased with the overall experience.

Caribou Cabin Getaway
Denali Wildlife Cabins is a great place to stay when you are in the Denali/Healy area. This is my second stay here and both times have been a very nice stay. A well appointed and comfortable cabin in a peaceful setting! We were even given a call when the Northern Lights were visible so we could go outside to watch, so thankful for that!

Great Location
Tucked away about 15 min from the entrance to the park, it was a nice place with plenty of outdoor space and a lake nearby. We even had a bull moose come say hello during our 2 night stay.

Excellent Choice
Great place to stay away from the tourists at Denali. The cabin was well-stocked, clean, and comfortable. The setting was quiet and peaceful with a nice mountain view. Lacie reached out to us before we left our home in Eagle River to let us know our cabins were ready - she is an awesome host! It's the perfect place to stay while visiting Denali or the Healy area.

Great cabin and amazing location!
We had an amazing time staying at the property. Very clean and incredibly well stocked cabin. The location is great, just a couple miles from Healy, and close to the park entrance. Will definitely look to stay here on our next family trip to Denali!

Clean and comfortable
There was some communication issues with the VRBO system, so if you don't hear from Lacie, give her a call! Once she realized I wasn't getting messages, she called me and we were all set! Lacie provided bottled water, smores supplies, and helped out with a cooler and ice packs for our Denali bus tour. Since we were flying in and were minimal in what we could bring, the cabin had what we needed for sure! The wifi worked great too. The beds were very comfortable and water pressure was great for showers. The whole cabin was very clean.
The driveway is really long and rocky, so be prepared for that. Just take your time!

Do not pass this gem up!!!
This cabin is amazing. The pics do it no justice. Lacie was always available anytime I needed her help. The place was so clean and the location was unbelievable. So perfect…..can’t wait to come back!

Just so so
Surprised to find out no potable water and no dishes just a few paper plates. There was some bottled water provided by the host. Location is good away from the bustle at the park entrance but limited views. We stayed at 3 houses while in Alaska and found this one to be our least favorite experience.

Great cabin!
We had a great time at the cabin. It is close to to Denali National Park, but tucked away from the larger hotels near the entrance. The hosts were very accommodating and even went out of their way to provide fishing poles for our kids to try catching trout at the nearby lake. There is a gas grill available for guests and the cabin was stocked with snack foods. Even though it has just a kitchenette, the use of the grill, microwave, toaster and refrigerator allowed us to cook most of our own meals. While we were there a moose cow and calf visited the property at daily. Definitely bring eye masks though, the cabins do not have blackout shades.

Great hidden get away
This property is located perfectly to have as your base for any activities in the Denali area. Cabin is great for couples.

Base camp for Denali Park
Stayed the night before and the night of driving into Denali NP. Very clean and well appointed cabin. Comfortable beds, spacious shower (soft towels!) and area for cooking / eating. Pantry with spices, plates, tea and s’mores supplies! There is a TV and internet as well. We didn’t get to explore around the cabin, but it was quiet and beautiful.

Caribou Cabin at Wildlife Cabins in Healy, AK
Great cabin in a beautiful setting. Furniture and interior finishes are very tasteful. The owner had the pantry well stocked with coffee, snacks, etc. The property owners were easy to reach and quick to respond when we needed something. I would recommend their property highly.

Beautiful cabin, great value
Cabin appeared to be brand new, and was beautiful inside. Bath was large and first class. Owner provided everything that someone might want. Coffee was provided. Even pop corn, smooores and fishing poles provided. Nearby lake and ATV rentals. 5 minutes to Denali Park entrance. Nice firepit with wood, lighter and starter.

Nice but...
Cabin is located within 10 minutes of Denali and 5 minutes of Healy. Cabin was clean but small for a family. Everything is located within one room & it is tight. Price was a little high considering the size of the cabin. Host was nice and located nearby.

Lovely cabin.
This cabin was clean and new. Tucked away from the highway in a quiet spot with a small lake, it was a peaceful alternative to glitter gulch but only a short drive to the park.
