Little Blue Bungalow!
This surf-side cottage is a guest favorite! Nestled in South Mission Beach, the home is just steps from the ocean and a 2 block walk to the bay! This one-bedroom/one-bath is perfect for a couple or small family looking to make unforgettable memories in sunny San Diego. One reserved parking space allows for an stress-free stay! The bungalow is within walking distance of all the exciting activities in Mission Beach, and only a short drive to key destinations such as Sea World and the San Diego Zoo.
The bungalow is on the ground-level of a three unit building. We have a twin cottage right next door and a larger unit above, in the joined building. The front courtyard is designed as two separate patios, with small fencing and tropical plants set up to create your own private oasis. You can cozy up on your private outdoor furniture or enjoy a meal at the outdoor table with seating for four. The cottage is equipped with your own propane BBQ so you can grill at your leisure! While this is not an oceanfront property, we are situated along the quaint walkway leading directly to Lifeguard Tower 12 on the beach. Views of the surf can be seen from the patio wall and sidewalk.
The vibe is relaxed and the beach is calling, so discover this cottage and return again and again like so many of our guests do year after year!
The master bedroom has a King bed and plenty of storage for all your luggage. The living room is furnished with a full-size sofa bed couch for extra sleepers. The Samsung TV in the living room is equipped with Spectrum Cable and all streaming options to log into; WiFi included. The living room opens up to the kitchen and breakfast bar where you can have a quick bite or sit down to check in at work! Enjoy the fully stocked kitchen equipped with pots, pans, utensils, dishes, a drip coffee maker, a gas stove, an oven, a microwave, and a blender. Plenty of boogie boards and sand toys are available at the property for guest use.
On-site laundry is available with a full-size washer and dryer, located just steps from your side door, behind your parking space. Larger guest laundry room is also available, if needed.
We will send a Welcome Guide a few days prior to your arrival date, provided with all check-in details. We are just a phone call/text/email away and have local management available should the need arise.
We love our furry family, but please leave your pets at home. We have a strict no pet-policy to keep our homes clean and allergy-free for all guests.
Lots of activities, shoppings, and eateries are all within a 1-3 block walk. Many bike, kayak, surfboard, and sailboat rentals are all nearby.

We had such a good time staying in San Diego and a big part is thanks to this property and the family who had allowed us to borrow a piece of their family. This was the perfect getaway spot for my family and I, the property was very clean, easy to find and had everything we needed to make our vacation even more memorable.

The location of this property is amazing! It’s about a three minute walk to the beach and right by Belmont Park. The king bed is really comfortable and the space is nice.
One issue with the space is the pull out sofa in the living room. When we pulled it out it doesn’t lay flat, but rather is angled (the bottom s higher than the top of the top). The mattress is all springs. My 14 year old son slept with it as a couch instead of using the pull out mattress. He took one look at the bed pulled out and said there was no way he was sleeping on that. Had there been 4 of us the space wouldn’t have worked because of this. Even as a couch it sagged when you sat on it.
The only other thing I would recommend is a new hair dryer. The one there sounded like a chainsaw and took forever to dry my hair. It was so bad my husband even commented on it.
Aside from my comments above I would definitely recommend this place.

The location of this property is perfect- short walk to the beach- and we loved having the patio to enjoy. There are lots of sand toys to use, which was very helpful. I was concerned that we may have trouble with the parking situation after reading other reviews but we were able to fit our Pilot SUV with no problem. The house is small but it worked well for our family of 4 and the host was very prompt in responding to any questions we had and very helpful!

This location was wonderful. Very close to the beach, and awesome ease to go back and forth with the kids all day. We are a family of 4 with two small children and the size of the space was just right for us. The pull out mattress has seen better days and I would not recommend for an adult but our two small children were fine for the few nights we were there. We appreciated the quick communication, ease of check in, and great location. We would return again!

Everything was as advertised. Parking was a little sketchy. As has been mentioned a small car is a must. Back parking lot into spaces needs to be repaved.. Other than that they had everything we needed for a fun relaxing trip. Great location!

We loved staying at this property. It is a small space and just perfect for our little family of 4 (two littles 3 and 5). It was so close to the beach and we loved walking to Belmont park too.

Clean, a little dated, comfortable bed, steps to the beach. If you are looking for a quiet, private getaway, this would not be it if the upstairs and next door units are rented. We had very loud and inconsiderate people above us. However if you are looking for a place that is close to the beach, you can’t beat this location.

This property is quaint and great for a weekend away. This was my first VRBO and I enjoyed the experience. Communication from the host was good and they replied quickly.

The add suggested to come with a small car since parking is limited.
Indeed the adjacent properties are jam packed. Barely few feet apart. We parked our sports car in the designated spot. On departure we had a dime size farewell scratch on the passenger side.
There is no central heat and the days high was in the mid sixties. Living room sofa is old and sagging.
Internet worked on tablet, the tv showed only a spinning wheel.
All surrounding properties seem to be rentals only. There was nobody actually living on our block. When we called Sharon, she was confused but apologetic because she was not sure how to access the property.
Improvising when running a bed and breakfast can be charming but the charge for 3 nights was about 30% higher than the next hotel with direct oceanfront. Not exactly fair market value.
Don’t recommend.

House was welcoming and homey. Beach is a short 3 min walk. Entertainment very close. Very recommended.

Great trip, just a few things to mention.
Front Door totally rusted gives a bad 1st impression. Barbecue only the middle burner worked and sofa bed frame appears broken. Cleanliness was awesome I am in the Hotel industry and I was totally impressed.
Our family has been staying on this street yearly for 9 years, we will be booking for next year soon.
Thank You!

It might have been nice. We don't know. It was NEVER us that signed up for it. We tried multiple times to convince y'all that you had it wrong. Sorry for the lousy ratings. I had to click something. It might be lovely.

The place is very clean and cute. It was as the pictures shown. Parking was very tight but doable. A big suv I don't think would work. The bed was extremely hard but if you like hard beds then no issue. At no fault of owner, the people upstairs sounded like they were moving furniture around all evening. If the bed were changed, I would definitely stay again.

Perfect beach getaway
The location is closer to the beach than the pictures appear, we were a couple of houses away from the Boardwalk. Just a few blocks from Belmont park and several great local spots for food. The home was equipped with everything we needed and very clean. It’s in a busy area and I visited on a holiday weekend so there were crowds, which I expected and welcomed. The host provided clear instructions with simple check in and check out processes.

Awesome Beach Cottage!
My girlfriend and I absolutely loved our stay at the Little Blue Bungalow! The property is located on an adorable courtyard with parking access in the back. It is just steps from the beach and an easy walk to Belmont Park.
There are also several great dinning and entertainment options within an easy drive in to Pacific Beach. La Jolla and downtown San Diego are also easily accessible. It's a perfect location!
The bungalow is decorated in a very beachy theme and is very comfortable for 2. Sharon was great to communicate with and provided lots of helpful information about the area. The self-checkin process was very easy as was checking out at the end of our stay.
The only item to note is that the provided parking space is a little tight. There is a telephone pole on one side and a beam for the roof support on the other. We had a Ford Edge and getting in and out required folding the mirrors and a few points to line it up. It is best to come in to the parking through the alley way off Mission Blvd as that provides a better angle. If you are renting a car, a smaller vehicle might be a better option.
We truly loved this location and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Would rent again (but not more than 3 adults)
We stayed at this rental for 5 nights. It is a only a few houses in from the beach. (We were happy that the rental was on the ocean side instead of the bay side of Mission Beach.) The ocean view is blocked, but it had a lovely patio that we enjoyed spending time on. We were also just a short walk from food and drink options. We didn't do any cooking, but kitchen looked well stocked. Everything was nice, clean, and comfortable...except for the sofa bed. Fortunately, there were only 3 of us, and the couch was good for one person!
We had a great time! We visited the zoo, rented bikes for a day, walked the beach, visited La Jolla beaches, and went on a kayak tour in La Jolla. If I returned to Mission Beach and couldn't get this rental, I would try to rent on the ocean side again.
The parking space is tight at the rental and other places near the ocean, so we were glad we had a compact rental car.

Little Blue Cottage - Mission Beach
Tremendous location, tight parking for a Jeep Cherokee but doable, well equipped kitchen, wonderful patio. Improvements to be considered, new and better pillows and updated bedspread .There were supposed to be 2 remotes for the TV, we only had one, no local news or networks. The lockbox numbers were worn and hard to read (for older eyes).
We WOULD come back.

Great hosts, spartan lodging
We arrived early and the host Sharon was super accommodating to get us in as soon as possible. Very kind and friendly! Housecleaning staff was present upon arrival and was super friendly and helpful also. The pre-arrival information was well written and wonderful.
The property was very nicely located, but accomodations were a tad spartan compared to online photos.
The living room was perfectly sized, but could have used larger sofa and some blankets to ward off the chill.
The kitchen was decently appointed albeit small.
The bathroom left a lot to be desired and could use an overhaul. No exhaust fan, so everything steamed up and felt sticky (even the paint on the walls was tacky afterwards). Knees hit shower curtain while sitting on the commode. Missing a much needed towel hook—four hung, two missing. The shower caddy kept falling down if soaps/shampoos placed on it. Some wall art or decor would have been nice to look to take mind off how icky and cramped the bathroom space felt. There was no hand soap in the bathroom.
The bedroom was good sized and bed comfortable. Extra blankets were provided. Could have used extra long pillows, though.
Patio was a good size with great furniture for grilling/hanging out, but could use a chaise lounge. Would have been helpful to know ahead of time it was south facing toward an alley/other homes and that direct sunlight is somewhat limited or blocked due to taller structures.
The proximity to the beach/boardwalk was perfect.
Beach towels provided were tiny, and there were only 2. Closet space was ample and a few hangers were available. The extra space heater came in handy as the tile floors made it feel chillier than expected. Some area rugs would help that.
All in all, a good experience and a great central location.
Thank you!

Great location
The location is perfect but def only for 2 unless you bring your own blow up bed. The couch bed is springs only. The couch it self is comfortable the cushions are good. I loved having a full kitchen since we were there for 5 days. Felt very safe in the neighborhood I walked to the Bay Area and around to the sea side everyday so pretty. The last couple of nights there was someone upstairs moving things around so just bring ear plugs or ear phones to block out the noise. Could also use blackout curtains in bedroom to block the neighbors light from shining in. I have eye mask with speakers due to hubbys snoring so that made it perfect. There are places to eat and shop in walking distance. I would come back again.

Fantastic Location--Noisy Neighbors
Small, but cozy. Perfect for the two of us! Steps away from the beach. Sound really carries so you hear EVERYTHING. Next door neighbors walk by the bedroom window (ours left at 4 am). You hear every footstep of the upstairs neighbor and their deck is right above the living room. When they move the furniture, it sounds like they're coming in. Unit was very cold (we were there for New Year's). Small heater in the living room didn't keep the space comfortable. We had to use the extra space heater from the bedroom. Glad I brought a quilt to keep us warm in bed and blankets for watching TV at night. Comfortable bed and couch. Lots of closet and dresser space. All the appliances worked but the dishwasher is incredibly noisy. Parking is TIGHT. Will look for a single-story unit for next time. Won't stay here again.

Loved my two week stay
I really enjoyed my stay in this beautiful apartment. Very very close to the beach and a Mexican taco shop. All I did was eat burritos for breakfast, worked, and then watched the sunset on the beach. Highly recommend. Be aware that because these units are older, walls are thing and you can hear your neighbors very well. We didn’t have any issues, but I can see how that could bother some people who are light sleepers.

Awesome property with short walk to the beach, San Diego zoo and much more was so nice be so close
We love it here! Would definitely come back. Only thing was the parking spot was kinda small luckily we had a small rental car or could of been hard to park a bigger suv or truck

Cute cubbyhole
This place is very small but very cute. The boardwalk is across the street nearby but you can’t see or hear the ocean unless it’s very quiet. Unfortunately they were jackhammering and doing road work on the little street very early and all day during the week. Very rude awakening. We found the couch uncomfortable for watching tv in the evening. It’s overall a cute little place for a couple who don’t plan on spending much time in the apartment. Weather sometimes dictates however. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware however any spices or condiments or cooking oil etc is not provided. We did leave some coffee filters and cooking oil but I’m not sure about the Covid directives etc.

Nebraskans relaxing
Easy check in. Little older property but had all we needed! Close to all the sites we wanted to see. True to the "quiet time" at 10 pm which was a pleasant surprise.
