Lovely spacious cabana room. Great position for people watching and to see the sunset. Very helpful reception and concierge staff.
Occasional wait for food at breakfast and room service. Water warm rather than hot in bathroom.

Breakfast was honestly the highlight. I hope they never change how amazing their breakfast is. The staff were also incredible. It was a great location. Would love to go back in the summer to enjoy the pools

The location was great - such a shame that it’s an incredible location for such a bad hotel
Where do I start….i originally booked the mountain room which was shown available on booking.com…..got there and I was told it was unavailable by the reception and was made to feel as if they’re useless and weren’t capable of finding solutions (you know who you are) while insisting it wasn’t their fault and putting the blame on booking.com. The head of reservations however was very supportive and compromised us with upgraded rooms and a complimentary service for airport transfer. However, on the day of checkout the same receptionist called Fiona insisted that she overheard the discussions with the head of reservations and that only an Uber transfer to the mall was what was promised for that specific day of check in. While smirking she repeated told me that even though it is not done but they will provide this complimentary airport transfer “just this once” and that “they’ve let me off” insinuating that I’m a liar. My mother then told me that while we were putting the luggage, she spotted a couple of staff looking in our direction pointing and laughing which is quite unprofessional. When I told the driver to give me the names of the staff, he told me that Fiona had warned him “to be careful of these particular rude guests”. Is this what’s expected at a hotel of this calibre? I now know it’s unrated for a reason. Please do understand that service is so important in order to provide a positive experience for the guests so that they come back in the future. I assure you that I’ll not be coming back nor would I be recommending this hotel to anyone.

Wonderful staff and location is excellent

We booked this hotel as our final stop of a week long road trip. It is one of my favorite hotels in my favorite area of Cape Town. In the end, the location was the best of this stay.
Do not know where to start. It was VERY disappointing. We got there and were told our room was not ready yet. Came back an hour later and it was still not ready. It was hot and we just wanted to dress into something more suitable. Our room was eventually ready and we were escorted up to it, just to find that the bathroom was not cleaned. The AC also did not have a remote control and did not work. After messing around for a while, maintenance came and fixed the problem with the AC. We went to the beach and to be fair to the staff, they did come and clean the bathroom. They also left a bottle of white wine with an apology note. A nice gesture.
However, ordering some drinks at the pool was a disaster. The completely "forgot" the order. At that stage, it felt that everyone was going out of their way to make our stay unpleasant. Even speaking to the staff was a struggle. They were not really interested in solving anything. Despite all promises of escalating any issue, they started avoiding us. Maybe it was not a bad idea, as I was ready to leave. You may expect it from a cheap place, but NOT when you are paying more than $600 per night. The breakfast was also not inline with the price. Not even a omelet/fried egg station. We had better breakfasts at places that were less than half this place price. My advice, rather pay a small amount more and go the the 12 Apostles down the road, which is a true 5 star hotel.

Prime location in Camps Bay, beautiful modern facilities, stunning views from every angle
Being on the main road there is a lot of traffic and noise but the view of the mountain and ocean makes up for it

We only stayed at the property for 2 nights but it was perfect. The staff went above and beyond and were all so incredibly friendly. We had a lovely bottle of wine and dessert wishing us a happy honeymoon which was a lovely touch. We stayed during winter and the weather wasn’t great, but I can imagine during summer this place would be absolutely stunning! The location was fabulous, so central and right on the beach, so many delicious restaurants and bars right outside the property gates, would definitely recommend!

My experience at the The Bay was very good. I stayed in two different rooms and both were large, comfortable and with a beautiful view. The staff were always very attentive. Very good breakfast. Very well located.
It was a shame some parts were under renovation but it didn't affect my stay. I will definitely return.

Location and views are amazing. Parking and front desk staff are friendly.
Due to the renovations, that no one told us about, and the poor service in the restaurant, our experience were not so good. Food was also not good during our dinner. No one told us about the tennis court and some other facilities. We only saw it during our check-out.

minor cosmetic works required in some parts of the hotel and general upgrade in terms of the decor to truly bring it to a full 5 star experience.

Neatness and their omelet was sumptuous
The door locks could have been been better .Batteries of the lock needed to be replaced two times while I was waiting outside the door.I am greatful though that they compensated by taking me to dinner at their expense.
