Beautiful property for a large family. Amazing views.
The property needs a bit of a refresh,it is beautiful but needs maintenance.

The space was great. The Villa is absolutely charming. The view of the mountains and ocean are to die for especially during sunset and sunrise. We loved everything about it. The location in Camps Bay is superb, definitely a swanky neighborhood. The pool area is GORGEOUS! It truly felt like we were home.

The beds were comfortable. Carol-Anne was very helpful, but as she is not the owner, she cannot fix the property neglect. This house should not host tenants as it is not up to basic health standards..
Did not look like the pictures..
Broken glass in swimming pool, dirty outside area, cigarette butt's outside in rusted old camping braai, rusted pots, broken Weber, broken glass table outside, blinds lying in corner, blinds broken, mouldy bathrooms and bedrooms (literally stinking the rooms up), staff using facilities (washing machine to wash their own clothes, cleaning laundry from previous occupants so we couldnt use facilities, spending hours on the phone, hanging out in the bathroom takking to friends on their phone.. while we are in the house), generally just neglect of the entire property, broken alarm and gate due to loadshedding (gate doesn't work, alarm goes off every time schedule changes.. even at 4am!!!).. etc etc...basically everything was just awful!

We hate writing anything other than a great review so let's start with the positives! Carol-Ann and Tanya were both great from the very start of the booking with Carol-Ann keeping in touch all the way through. We were 3 families - grandparents and two of our children with their children, eleven of us in all so the space at Cape Bali was great. We had booked the property as it had 6 bedrooms, a location we knew, having stayed in Camps Bay over 15 years and a swimming pool for the grandkids. what not to like! The property was clean and had everything we needed for the times we self catered.
We were sorry on our arrival at the property to find that the pool hadn't been cleaned ready for arrival. we had travelled from safari and everyone was keen to get in the pool. Carol-Ann said the pool would be cleaned the following day and the pool men were there by 9.30 but the bottom of the pool could do with some remedial work and the pictures do not reflect the general condition. We were unable to use one of the ground floor bedrooms as it is a sort of self contained unit off the main house and although a lovely room it had no view and just didn't work for us with young grandkids who needed to be near their parents at night. would be ideal for teenagers or a couple who wanted to be away from the rest of the party. We were most bothered by the load shedding at this property which did not have a generator or invertor, the only property not to have on our 4 week stay although the most expensive. Our fault as I didn't check on booking and we fully understand the need for load shedding but as we had to alarm the house at night (Cape Bali conditions) and we had outage every night, the alarm went off twice a night, waking the household and needing resetting. After 7 nights we had had enough and tempers were frayed!!! We also had a problem with the electric gate which although it had a sensor chose to shut on one of our rental cars causing (minimal) damage but a lot of stress when the family were trying to leave the property to meet with others. The gate wouldn't close and we had to contact Carol-Ann who talked us through what to do. She said the gate repair men had been out a day or two previously so we assume there had been a problem previously. We took the car to a garage to try and get the slight scratches out but are waiting to hear from the rental company if there will be a charge. Stress that family definitely didn't need.

Great location, comfortable beds, some lovely rooms
Needs some tender loving care in certain places and a bit more attention to detail. For instance there were cigarette burns on some of the outside cushions, the floor of the pool needed redoing and could have been cleaner.
Spot light bulbs not working in kitchen and simple things like replacing batteries in aircon remotes.
In one of the rooms the shutters were broken, the host did arrange for someone to come out to fix it when asked.
The biggest problem was the alarm, the info provided, stated that the alarm needed to be switched on at night. Unfortunately this meant that after load shedding when the electricity went off the alarm would make intermittent beeping, this happened at 2am in the morning every night we were there, the only way to stop it was to get out of bed and reset it, needless to say this did not make for a restful stay.
This was pointed out to the host who gave us instructions on how to reset it , I don’t think it is acceptable to ask your guests to do this in the early hours of the morning, forgoing a good night sleep. I appreciate that the host cannot control the timetable for the regular power outages, but this was the only place we stayed in SA that did not have some form of backup power, that said if we had not had to get up every night to stop the beeping that would have been less of a problem. A real shame as this property with the locations and the views could be amazing.

Lovely home in a great location.
Just a handful of items starting to tire and could do with replacing.

The Cape Bali is everything we expected from the property, based on reviews and the website description, and more! The rooms are massive, beds incredibly comfy, and all furnishings and facilities of a very high standard. It does complete justice to its 5 star rating. The views at the front, of the Atlantic, and at the back of the Twelve Apostles are on its own worth the daily rate.
Check in and -out was a breeze and the host was incredibly helpful, friendly, and patient. We only stayed for 1 night but based on this experience, I would have loved to stay more. We will definitely be back.

The view was spectacular! The pool area is just to die for. All the rooms are sound proof and beds are so comfortable!
The venue only had 2 x small braais (barbecues) - I expected more but made it work!
