We have stayed here before and this time round it was about the location of the hotel. It was opposite Usher Hall so was perfect. The hotel is well managed and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spotless and the bed is very comfortable. The hotel is very chilled and has a lovely feel about it. The spa facilities look amazing but each time we have stayed we just couldn't fit it in.
The breakfast isn't the best. It has lots of choice but the full English never seems like it's freshly cooked and is never very hot. On our last day, we choose different items entirely and we were pleasantly surprised, it was delicious, fresh and hot.

The Room was superb - quiet and well appointed - a bit bigger would have been nice but not essential - a lovely room,
The location is brilliant - very central within very easy walking distance to all the sights that Edinburgh has to offer.
The concierge and reception staff were absolutely great being both knowledgeable and personable
The breakfast was lovely quality food served hot and quickly - very pleased
The only small problem encountered was that coffee machine did not work at breakfast and despite being told it was being sorted - it was not.
We (ourselves and another couple) waited for 10 minutes and than spoke to an excellent waitress who very quickly brought us a cafetiere of coffee. When we left the breakfast room maybe 20 minute later, the coffee machine was still not fixed.
But as I said - a very small problem rectified by a thoughtful waitress

Convenient location
Good public rooms
Disappointed in quality of food.
Dinner (pre-booked and paid for) on Saturday night for a group of 24 was extremely inefficient, slow service to the extent that we had to abandon the meal before we’d finished, despite the fact we’d pre-warned staff of our tight schedule in order to leave in time for the concert across at the Usher Hall. We arrived for 18.30 start (some of us before then) and weren’t served until after 19.00, at different times. Very disappointing.

Breakfast was good, but expensive. The hotel was large but quiet.
It was a Sheraton. Normally when I travel I prefer not to stay in a chain. Particularly an American one.

location is good
Breakfast is a la carte with limited options for muslims

Nice
The in-room lighting system is weird, self turning on midnight

Roof top hydrotherapy pool and spa rooms were great. The club room were was well worth the extra money as well.

Stylish rooms, pool and sauna great.
Breakfast was hectic, not enough food or staff and customers queueing for refills.

The one square brasserie is a nice area to relax and get food and drinks. Our room was amazing, big comfortable bed, the bathroom is amazing, shower pressure perfect and bath is big.
One spa area is pretty unclear when you go to use there facilities. You are not made aware of how the lockers work and where robes are or anything really. I was also told the reception get a little mad at people for asking for the robes because they want to keep them for members only not really sure if thats fair as we paid too. For £35 each just to use an outdoor pool and some relaxation rooms surley you deserve a robe.

Lovely hotel. Slightly 70s in design but actually very comfortable. The room was spacious, clean and v v comfortable. Lovely staff- special shout out to Sara at breakfast- very helpful , informative and friendly.

The one spa facilities were amazing. The room was well equipped and view was amazing as we had a club room but the service in all areas of the hotel except reception let it down and breakfast.
Breakfast, staff attitudes and attentiveness were low.

We walked from station and took us long way round to reception at back in car park . Would have been quicker to go to level 2 entrance

Location was stunning, breakfast was filling but almost not enough for £18. Daily pastries and coffee were good.
We went to the spa/pool at 7pm thinking it'd be a bit quieter.... although only 12 visible people within the spa area , all the pool side loungers were reserves with crumpled towels. They almost looked used , if this was the case maybe they should've been removed by the users, but also maybe a hotel employee couldve, we only stayed for 20 minutes due to the lack of seating. A wee bit disappointed.

Staff where all so nice! Thanks to Natalia in the club room who was so lovely, as well as all the reception staff and concierge Wayne was also great!
Lovely big room, great facilities, hotel was spotless throughout and smelt lovely! The spa was brilliant, not to busy and lots of facilities! We had a great stay and thank you for the lovely chocolates for my birthday, that was a thoughtful touch!
Shower temp kept changing and wasn't very powerful! Shame the suite room didn't come with a nice castle or city view, that would have made the room perfect!
Would be nice for the club room to have alcohol available past 7pm, we only arrived at 6.30 so didn't get the best use out of it.

Good location, short work to the castle and town.
Room wasn't very clean, mould on the sink in the bathroom, water pressure was almost none existing out of the sink also.

Breakfast was excellent and well presented. Staff were extremely polite and friendly.

Location, staff, room
Over our stay there was only 1 hour we could use the pool. Only half the pool was cornered off for families for that 1 hour so it was very busy.
4.1
Great location.
Shower was cold. The spa was closed and was the main reason of our trip. Wasn’t made aware of the planned closure before booking or checking in.
4.1
The location was perfect for a concert we were attending. It was literally yards from the venue. It was also close to a number of bars and restaurants.
You need your room key to operate the elevators but, as the reception is on the first floor, you had to use the staircase on the way in and after checking out. Unless there was another entrance but I don't think so.
4.1
Staff were very polite and courteous - nothing was too hard for them to do.
It is an elegant hotel, with a breakfast view of the Castle.
Pillows too soft - should offer more firmer ones, as well as soft ones.
4.1
Room was nice, beds comfy , spa facilities were excellent , food was good , room service was great
During the breakfast we got served way after people came after us, it would be great if staff paid better attention and served guests in the good order, tables were bit sticky at breakfast and could have done with better cleaning
apart from that quality of breakfast was good , but glass of juice provided within £18 on the top of the room price should be bigger size!
4.1
Staff were so well trained friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean everywhere and the rooms spacious and comfortable. I appreciated the room upgrade for our special occasion.
I didn't like the extra £35 pp for the outdoor pool. It should be free to staying guests.

Location
For the price I thought rooms to small, could not just go into bar for a drink you had to book it.

An overall enjoyable experience. Very nice staff ... especially Mariia at the reception, who was exceptionally welcoming. We could check in early and on my birthday there was a bottle of Prosecco, some petit fours and a hand written birthday card in our room for me. What a lovely touch.
Room was very spacious, clean and had a view to the castle.
Location is perfect, the Westend only a 5mins walk away and the bus stop only 2.
We're not huge fans of sliding doors between the bathroom and the bedroom...especially not glass ones. A bit more privacy would really have been appreciated.

found the hotel to be perfectly located, easy reach to shops and restaurants. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The spa was amazing.
The lights in the bedrooms were a bit awkward to control
