Excellent gym, comfortable beds, very helpful staff.
Dinner menu was very casual, but interesting. However the night we were there perhaps the chef was having a bad day as my vegetable kebab was undercooked (my husband ate it for me nonetheless) and the chef could be heard throughout the dining room shouting “service” with very loud dinging on his bell.
A bit of a rabbit warren, kept getting lost!

I stayed in the Denton suite it’s a lovely room. Spa area is clean and good
The staff, the was horrible. They made me and my wife feel so out of place.
The manager was shouting towards us from a far distance.
No help with any luggage.
The lady in Harry’s Bar also very rude.
I also had one of the best rooms in the hotel costing close to £500 for the night

The Tootlepip sign leaving the property
It was all a bit over inflated including the reception staff and the room was really just a well furnished motel room.

Great breakfast with tasty veggie options. Lovely clean pool sauna and steam room
Our room was at the junction of two corridors and guests leaving late weddings congregated outside our door and woke us up. No signage to ask guests to be respectful

The venue is set in great grounds. The food in the evening was amazing. The room was lovely but the hotel is huge so quite a walk from the facilities. Our spa booking was incorrect but the lady who booked us in, at the desk, tried to facilitate a remedy and eventually we were able to get the correct treatment.
Unfortunately their was a real mix of staff who were helpful, cheery and pleasant to those who weren't. Our booking appeared to hit problem after problem. Nothing went smoothly and no body (other than the spa) actually acknowledged our concerns. Maria was fab but that only covered a short part of our stay.

Lovely location, building and grounds. Comfortable beds. Option of not having a daily clean and monies donated to Crisis UK instead. Staff very friendly, safe in room and room very quiet
Restrictions on facilities available for non wedding guests.
Towel from previous occupants left in bathroom
Room dated and very basic. Harry’s bar and restaurant very noisy.

The gym was great and food at Harry’s was fresh and delicious. The receptionist Priya was very friendly and helpful
With the exception of Priya, we had a really poor experience from the staff. For example, the bar man at the event we came for was so rude and unpleasant that it made you not even want to order a drink - he was very hostile! The staff seating at breakfast were also very blunt and unhelpful

Eaay to find and near wedding location. Breakfast was great. Beds comfortable and very little noise heard.
Was expectin a bigger room.for a suite. Room difficult to get around when the sofa bed was out. Light switches confusing. Milk sachets were horrible
4.0
The facilities, I like the fact we were given towels to use while in the spa related facility.
Mugs in the room were not clean as much. There were cobwebs on some of the gym equipment.

The room was lovely. The staff were so kind and helpful.
This is probably on me but I got a little confused going too and from the room, I kept getting lost and it felt a little maze like.

Great place for a wedding
Small bedrooms- it was a maze the rooms were all over the place
4.0
Location and gardens.
Staff had no communication skills. Manager had no customer communication skills.
Service in Harry’s dreadful even when empty.
4.0
Location was lovely and the breakfast was good.
The room had no complimentary water and the blind in the room had squashed flies etc rolled up in it.

Nice building and very old school and isolated, located in the middle nowhere
Those were being slammed very early hours in the morning when we’re trying to get a good nights sleep.

Breakfast was excellent, constantly refreshed, friendly staff. Gym was good and pool ok.
Room clean and newly decorated, bathroom, we should have asked for a walk in shower as shower over bath was difficult to use.
Staff cleaning table next to us at breakfast with lots of cleaning spray covering our food in a fine mist. Great that tables are cleaned well, but there was no need to clean that one whilst we were eating, as there were many empty clean tables available.
Hotel was lovely, but not a county house experience as most rooms were in an extension which, although nice, could have been in any decent business hotel.

Nothing, loved it! Very remote though

Fabulous, fantastic friendly & helpful staff!
I’m disabled and a few long walks to room. Stayed three times this year!

staff helpful and attentive
food at dinner ok and room very noisy but really nice breakfast
Comfort up to expectations
Very confusing layout with miles to walk with luggage

Staff friendly, breakfast OK
Bathroom was not particularly clean, there was mould around the bath sealant and hair around the bottom of the toilet. The walls were very thin. We had a room with an adjoining door to the next room and could hear the whole conversation of the occupants who were staying next door. Have had a better nights sleep in a travel lodge at a third of the cost!

The location and comfort of rooms. Fantastic breakfast
Disappointed with housekeeping. Requested housekeeping but was not done. Spoke with staff the following morning and was promised it would be done! It wasn’t! Saw a different staff member who promised it would be done and true to his word he did a fabulous job

Rooms were comfortable swimming pool was a pleasant temperature. Room keys didn’t work for swimming pool so had to get help from staff
We found the dinner menu in the restaurant very limited. The quality of food was poor especially desert. Breakfast was good plenty of choice and hot
4.0
The setting and the house.
Don't expect to stay at the house in the picture, as its just a conference centre!

The staff were lovely - particularly the reception staff :)
The facilities were great and we loved the pool

This property, although ates back to the 1600, is very nice and modernization is very well done resulting in a nice cozy atmosphere. (You might need a map to get around the hotel until you get used to all the nooks and crannies!)
The meal service was good however you had to book and reserve a table for lunch and dinner even when staying at the property. Apparently, the dining space is a little limited so you could find youself having to eat either very early or perhaps very late if you forget to reserve.

The staff, especially the reception staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. We were helped with our luggage as my husband 's mobility was very limited.
The hotel was very clean and attractive décor. The 'Manor' part was really lovely but unfortunately the bar was not open in that part of the hotel but certainly a much more elegant area to enjoy pre dinner drinks and cocktails.
Really good sausages at breakfast!
Bed extremely comfortable!
Very long corridors to rooms. This made it difficult for my husband.
The main restaurant had quite a restricted menu for anyone staying more than a couple of days.

it was nice to walk round
I booked the upgrade room as I wanted the walk in shower as it’s advertised. when I brought this up with the hotel they said not all the rooms have it so why advertise it then?
no room service as they did not have the staff for evening meal or breakfast and the swimming pool is only open till 8 pm.
I definitely don’t feel the service of this hotel warrants the cost

building and grounds lovely along with room, bar and restaurant
pool area was too small for size of the property

The Setting is beautiful especially the drive in and the reception area.
Trying to run a hotel without staff does not work. No housekeeping due to "Covid" - What a joke! Drove round UK including York, Liverpool and Wales and never came across such lame excuse for saving money. Breakfast totally unattended. Food ran out in certain areas and no one to speak to. Met receptionist on the way in who looked like she had just been to a funeral. She gave me a welcome letter" as she described it. I was later to find out that it was a letter to advise that there is no housekeeping service due to permanent staff shortages due to Covid.... Total disgrace! Shame on you.

lovely setting great spa, big room and wonderful food in the restaurant in the evening. breakfast was decent too. Staff really nice and overall we had a great time and would go again.
bed could have been comfier but was ok. there was a noisy group of men who were walking the corridors arguing with anyone who tried to ask them to be quieter. staff dealt with them as best they could but they were in room next door watching tv and shouting all night. thankfully walls were fairly thick.

staff friendly and helpful. sis pool area very good.
restaurant ok lamb kofta fabulous but burger and chips for £17 a rip off. Burger King make their burger meals better value.
advertised as a stately home but in reality a new build behind that is more like a travel lodge. small rooms, designed for profit snd not comfort for the price. very disappointing

Horwood House is an exceptional place to visit, their refurbishment from a few years back was extremely well done. You can tell each and everyone of the staff are proud to work there. Their customer service is very high level.
