The staff were so amazing - answering our many questions. The property is delightful with beautiful extended riverside frontage. We enjoyed many amazing walks during our stay. Dinner is not to be missed neither is breakfast. We had an a 'la carte menu included in our stay, but the comprehensive buffet was more than adequate! Parking was easy and plentiful. Thank you so much for having us - we wish we could have stayed longer.

We had a very good dinner, with a nice table overlooking the grounds.
There were no problems at all.

Excellent facilities on a world class site.
As regular visitors, over many years now, including having celebrated our wedding on site, we don’t feel that customer loyalty is noted or recorded. Whilst some of that is due to high turnover of staff in the hospitality industry, the hotel’s owners should be capable of considering a basic loyalty scheme.
This is especially so since prices continue to escalate. Although we got a good deal for DBB based on current prices this time, this is highly variable, and a subsequent booking made direct is having to be cancelled on cost grounds, as an improved deal is obtainable via Booking.com. Price movements are understood, but continued movement of goal posts to maximise income from customers is not helpful.
Minor training point for the staff member who delivered our bowl of chips for our main course before our starter had been served.
4.2
The grounds and location. Most staff were friendly.
One occasion we’re my steak came out to the table but I had to wait a few minutes before I reminded staff I was still awaiting the chips to go with it

We had dinner in the hotel on Sunday evening of our stay and the meals were excellent. I have coeliac Disease and the staff were very knowledgable about Gluten free meals which was very reassuring
The breakfast in the morning was not quite so organised and we had to ask three members of staff for some gluten free toast. There was no bread and eventually I was given a gluten free roll which was not very tasty. I understand that some Gluten free food tastes a lot better than others but this roll was not appetising. The breakfast is served as a buffet which raises anxieties around cross contamination. I managed to get two freshly cooked fried eggs which had just arrived from the kitchen but was not willing to try the other dishes.

Amazing setting and endless walks right at your doorstep. You are paying for the location more than anything else. Beautiful hotel in peaceful surroundings.
Price is expensive for what you get at the hotel as some of the rooms are in need of refurbishment. Its a lot of money just for a bed for the night. So of planning to stay make sure you make the most of all your time there and get there for check in time in order to start enjoying all the time you have there.

We loved the location, the beautiful walks and the fact that the hotel is dog friendly! Staff were very accommodating.
The room was quite warm but it was so comfortable. We didn’t notice the fan in the wardrobe until the morning!

Location was fantastic
Not easy to get to from train station. Only 1 taxi in Dunkeld which was in Dundee. Had to walk for an hour with luggage.
4.2
Beautiful property
Dinner was not what I expected. Average at best. Not worth the price. Waiting staff was not to the level that the cost reflects. Food was also not reflecting the cost. Room was tiny with a very small bathroom.

We revisited as we actually got married at the hotel here a year ago and absolutely love the hotel and location because of this. The hotel decor is luxurious and as we remembered it, makes it feel like a treat to come here as it is so nicely done. The outside space is beautiful and very peaceful. The lounge bar is relaxing and the pianist was a lovely touch. The spa is great but the jacuzzi wasn’t working. The rooms are really nice, a little small, but well equipped.
Breakfast was poor…my husband went down at 930. There were very little cooked items left and they were not replenished. If you wanted a coffee such as a flat white etc you had to pay extra for it. Meal prices were expensive for what you got…drinks were also pricey and service was slow.

Breakfast was very good. Room was lovely
The pool was closed and we had no information telling us this before we arrived.
The bed was the most uncomfortable we have ever experienced.
My husband hardly sleep as he was so uncomfortable.
4.2
General wade room pleasant staff
Swimming pool open . Communication of booking . Toilet in our room poor .
4.2
The room was good size, very comfortable and clean. Two chairs which is not always the case in some hotels despite being double rooms.
There was a good variety for breakfast, both hot and cold buffet as well as additional choices
Rather a limited dinner menu with only five dishes plus grill options. Of the five mains two were risotto!
Very slow bar service, extra experienced bar staff would help
4.2
Stunning grounds accessible to Dunkeld much easier than anticipated.
Restaurant was excellent as was breakfast selection.
The bed was extremely creaky. Even moving adjusting position through the night was quite bothersome. Although comfortable mattress was a positive.
We waited 30 minutes on two separate occasions for two cocktails. I note this was only for cocktails the rest of the drinks were served quickly.
Bar staff seemed agitated and frosty on a couple of occasions however this didn’t detract from the experience.
4.2
The hotel setting was excellent as was our room. Lovely atmosphere in the bar area.
The prices in the restaurant were exceptionally high - £12.50 for a small bowl of lentil soup and £17.50 for cullen skink (starter) were off the scale. Main courses were limited to 3 vegetarian meals and two seafood meals.
4.2
Excellent breakfast, wonderful location and friendly helpful staff.
Jacuzzi broken, spell of no running water, entrance and carpets dirty.
Extortionate bar prices for good and drink.
4.2
The restaurant was terribly slow. Breakfast order was lost and then took 50 mins - not good

Fantastic location,very comfortable, great food
Spa wasn’t working

The location was stunning. Room was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated & very comfortable. Pool, sauna & steam room very enjoyable. Breakfast was delicious & thankfully included in our reservation price.
The bar & restaurant prices are eye watering. £17.50 for Soup, £11 for a glass of wine & £12.50 per cocktail. Have paid far less in Michelin restaurants in Glasgow & Edinburgh. Although everything was delicious it was extortionate which led us away from the Hotel on the second day to dine elsewhere (& buy a carry out for the room).

The area and peacefulness. Staff are excellent
Wedding venue in the garden and no shelter from building to marquee, however, understand why it’s in the gardens
4.2
Gorgeous setting! Hotel is beautiful and our room was lovely with large super king bed in the room!
Food was slightly overpriced however was lovely. It was very busy in the bar/lounge and therefore having to wait around a bit at times however staff were apologetic.

Excellent location
Stunning grounds
Great breakfast
Wife had a poor meal ( small piece of chicken)
4.2
Room looked lovely. The setting of the hotel fabulous.
The shower head was too small for any force of water and there was no where to put things or hang anything in the shower room.
We needed to remind breakfast staff that we had not been asked about tea or coffee and by then had helped ourselves and finished breakfast.
4.2
Location was excellent, lovely building
There was a wedding on. Our room was about 50ft from a second rate band which played till the early hours, breakfast was very poor, still waiting for the coffee
4.2
Beautiful hotel, beautiful surroundings, extremely comfortable. Very efficient staff. Excellent all round.
We liked everything.
4.2
Beautiful location, staff very friendly & attentive. Dinner menu - fabulous
A little slow with the coffee but it’s not a fast food joint
4.2
Lovely place to say clean, comfortable, luxurious without being too grand
4.2
Loved the location and the scenery.
Very disappointed with breakfast. Harley any fresh fruit on offer. Feel a four star hotel should be at a better standard.
4.2
The setting of Dunkeld House Hotel is truly amazing, the long winding driveway and serene settings is one of the most beautiful places to have offered accommodation
Honestly, the staff were less than helpful when it came to checking in, breakfast, overall we were treated quite rudely with exception of one of the night staff who was amazing in offering help.
We were staying for a wedding, so our check in time was tricky, however after speaking with so many members of staff, no one seemed actually interested to try and help - we were left with very short, curt and negative responses when asking questions about the accommodation.
We also were spoken to rudely during our breakfast, by the same member of staff who was rude when checking in. He suggested we shouldn't be where we were, and the tone of his dialogue and body language during each interaction was noticeably arrogant.
It's a massive shame, despite the amazing location, I doubt i'd return or recommend based on the many negative experiences we had with staff in a 48 hour period.

location - beautiful setting.
the service was terrible.Long waits for drinks at the bar. Breakfast was chaotic - buffet regularly ran out and a long wait if you ordered off the menu.
