ausgesprochen freundliches Personal, gute Auswahl verschiedener Speisen beim Frühstück, Zimmer angenehm eingerichtet. Die Lage mit anschließendem Park und Golfplatz in der Nähe zu Dublin ist unübertroffen.
Dass es mit der Nähe der zwei Zimmer nicht geklappt hat - wir haben es dennoch gut gemanagt und würden wieder buchen.

Really comfy bed, fab bathroom. Lovely walking trails.
Different drinks menus between lounge, bar and restaurant. Staff in McGill's wouldn't let me order wine from the lounge menu... I could only order from their limited menu. Found this very odd for a 5 star hotel that is supposed to be all about top notch service. Then the white wine that came was room temperature. Ordered skinny fries, got chunky. Nobody around to highlight this to... Nobody enquired whether the food was good or if we wanted anything else.
TV remote didn't work. Sink stopper was stuck so sink didn't drain. Wear and tear obvious in common areas.

Lovely location, great staff, good food, lovely facilities.
Some of the decor is starting to fade. The left hand sink taps in our room (508) were loose and will eventually cause a leak if not secured.

The breaksfast was excellent with a lovely buffet and an a l carte menu to choose from. The spa was lovely and we ate dinner at the Sally Gap which was also good - pit y there is no view from the restaurant. Very friendly staff

Pool was decent and breakfast has good selection. View from the Lobby across the Gap is very nice.
I am not a fussy customer and rarely leave a review for hotels. However, for the money paid for a three night stay here and the disappointment both myself and my wife experienced, I'm leaving a review.
From the moment I arrived, I felt I had made a mistake booking the hotel. The exterior of the hotel is surrounded by retaining walls which are very badly stained and very unattractive looking. In comparison with country estates with character and history, the initial vibe I got from this hotel was a concrete elephant obliterated into the landscape.
When we first got to the room they were still arranging it and stocking the mini fridge - we had to wait for 5 minutes whilst the fridge was cleaned and another 15 mins whilst it was re-stocked from the store. Not that we used it as a €7.50 red wine was €50.
The view from the room was staring straight into another stained concrete retaining wall / a maintenance tractor / red and white safety barriers and cables draped across the "garden".
The lobby had a bar and a nice view across the gap, however, come 9pm, the shutters closed and the only place to get a drink was the sally gap brassiere, located on another level and wing of the hotel - hence, the lobby was un-atmospheric. The hotel really lacks a relaxing-chillout bar.
Food-wise I wasn't expecting a cheap meal, but and as soon as I seen the cheapest starter - soup for €14, I knew I would not be eating there again. I don't mind paying for an expensive meal, but when the food is mediocre and priced extortionately, it's hard to stomach!
I have no doubt this hotel is directed to the American market who generally like big concrete structures and I'm sure it will continue to do well and receive good reviews. However, from an Irish perspective, its trying to give a vibe of old world aristocratic Ireland and it's just trying to be something it's not. P.S.

Brought 18 people to the hotel sent email before we arrived who was staying in what rooms all confirmed with the hotel . People arrived to the hotel only to be told no record of the there stay .
I paid for everyone breakfast people arrived down for breakfast only to be told no record of breakfast being paid for . Services was slow wages nearly 50min for a sandwich to arrive on the Saturday . Over charged for connecting room just to open a door extra €300 euro
Do the basics well currently it’s a hotel with 5 star prices with 2 star service

Mini moon night away in the Suite
Great chill in the jacuzzi and pool followed by room service dinner, a great nights sleep and a gorgeous breakfast.
Breakfast has a bit of a Q for a table but no big deal

Location is fabulous. Rooms and building are gorgeous and gym/pool are very well appointed.
Had a number of issues post departure with invoicing/billing which took far too long to sort out. Disappointing end. Also the food in Sika Restaurant is not worth the high price charged.

Location is fabulous. Hotel decor really beautiful.
Only a small detail, the coffee machine in our room, didn’t work.

Took a while to get a taxi out there

Location and peaceful
The sally gap bar food was lovely. Bar was hard to get served at . There seemed to be no one person on bar all in and out on food serve and making cocktails and not making eye contact with anyone . No floor service and no one to lift glasses all left on tables . Not what you would say is 5 star .

breakfast was incredible & the unexpected upgrade
no evening music or entertaining for older adults. Relaxing partner weekend to celebrate anniversary. However, we enjoy music with a wee drink as we never get away. No quiz or fun etc

Location is great, lovely staff. Bathroom beautiful.
Breakfast was fine but would expect a higher standard given the hotel rating and price. Bathroom was gorgeous, bedroom and bed were just okay.

Location and facilities excellent.
Short staffed in the bar area, lack of attentive service.

Likely one of the best hotel stays ever. We loved our room, facilities and food. We originally booked for two days and ended up extending for a day. We spent a lot of time in the room, which was fairly spacious and ordered food in, which was delightful. Great support from staff. We left with good memories
One tiny thing that stood out because everything else was so great. For the in room catering. Sometimes we were offered to have the hot food out on the table, sometimes not. It would be good to have consistency there and have all persons offering the option to get the hot food out. When this option was offered to us, it really made a difference
