Wow location!

Family group of 7. Our 3 person room we lovingly called thr gnome home because of the cool sloped ceilings. My 6 ft tall nephew bonked first, then my niece and at 5ft3 inches I bonked too! But we absolutely LOVED the space. The AC in the room was fantastic. My parents were on ground floor, so they liked that. My Brother and his wife had the middle floor, and liked it too. There is an elevator, so that was wonderful for baggage.

We had a larger van, so only one garage was tall enough for parking. It was fine, just not very close by.

Pillows were way too soft and offered no support. Also, only one pillow each.

The perfect little hotel

Everything is exceptionally high quality, the proportions and decor feel comfortable and refined. The breakfast is a delight, downstairs in a beautiful cellar with a generous buffet. The location is perfect, on a quite back alley of the old town. One of my favourite hotels.

Nice, I'll repeat and in fact it was my second time there as I went for the first time in october.

location; comfort; quietness; It is very cosy being a small hotel and not being surrounded by lots of other guests; the isolation from the external noise is absolutely great.

Well I would have expected some kettle with a small choice of teas and coffees. It's not a big cost and could help a lot after the journey to relax a bit.

Great hotel for sight-seeing in the Old City of Heidelberg

Very comfortable hotel in the Old City of Heidelberg. Shopping, restaurants and sightseeing are all at walking distance. The room is very clean, and the bed is comfortable. Staff is helpful, making sure check-in and out is smooth. No private parking available, but that is to be expected in the Old City. Heidelberg has an absolutely beautiful old city, and for sight-seeing it is very much advisable to have a hotel here.

Hotel is right next to a road, with traffic also during the night. Didn't bother us too much though, but if you're a light sleeper, maybe ask for a room facing away from the river (road is between the hotel and the river).

Great location, besides the river, in the old town area. Exceptional breakfast option. Really soundproofed rooms even ours is on the ground level, no traffic noise.

No private parking of the hotel, but several public parking lots close by

A property any traveller would be happy with : location, amenities, quality…., and friendly staff.

All in all it’s a great property. It is ( in my belief ) understated in terms “perception “ The word “ motel” conjures up ( to Australians) a small property: whereas this property is literally huge. The bar, outdoor areas and general amenities are excellent.

Pretty room

The room didn’t get cleaned, the bin was not emptied, very hard bed. Breakfast was only possible if confirmed the day before. Spending rest of the stay in a different hotel.

Breakfast was amazing. The view from our room was awesome, had a view of the castle and the river. The staff was super helpful and friendly. This is the only place I'll stay when I'm in Heidelberg next.

Great choice for the old town

Beautiful rooms in a great location. We arrived after hours, but they made it easy for us. Definitely a great choice for the old town and castle. Super-friendly staff.

Unfortunately there isn't parking co-located with the room (because it's the old town), but you can park for a few minutes to check-in and drop bags and there are multiple large parking garages within 500 meters.

A little pricey considering there’s no cleaning staff, but the room was nice and the hotel is in a good area.

Good location in the center of Heidelberg, nice view of the river, and room design was pretty.

There is no room cleaning service currently because there aren’t enough staff due to covid.

Very enjoyable despite the weather

Great location - could walk to anywhere in the old town. Excellent breakfast. Some really nice restaurants.

do not believe I should have been charged for the cancellation of 2d night. The hotel was EMPTY. Only 2 of 14 rooms filled. Our cancelling because of the lack of Christmas Markets and other COVID shutdowns did not impact the hotel. They were unable to sell our room for the 2d night, so we should not have been charged 90% fees,

Exceptional

The location in the Old Town is tops! Very peaceful and excellent base for staying in lovely Heidelberg. The building and rooms are charming. The staff are always so nice and make you feel so welcome. Jessica is very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend staying here.

Ideal location, clean rooms, helpful staff

Hotel was very central and our room was on the corner looking out onto the river. The hotel was very clean. The staff was very friendly and even provided a voucher for a rebate off the parking garage.

It is a bit difficult to find a place to unload your luggage when arriving by car. Parking is offsite, but that was known in advance and I think likely for any hotel in the Altstadt. Property was a bit worn, but very clean and modern.

Exceptional

The staff was super friendly and the location in the inner city really close to nice restaurants and shops and the bus station, but still quiet at night. All in all a great place to stay, and I can highly recommend the Villa Marstall to anyone who wants to spend some nice days in Heidelberg.
