Very friendly and helpful staff, as I arrived with not much notice very late at night.. Made sure I had everything I needed..
Nothing

My Room and the Restaurant
The main bar area is totally lacking in atmosphere, and is badly in need of a major furniture and design upgrade. The bar staff can also be elusive. (I write as a regular guest)
The breakfast is extremely over-priced compared with comparable venues.

Room, spa facilities, bar and restaurant, food both dinner and breakfast. Plenty of on site parking
Happy with everything

Lovely hotel and very convenient to the port. Great facilities and comfortable rooms.
Service at breakfast was a little slow and drinks in the bar were extremely expensive.

Comfy room. Nice meal in restaurant

I've booked a spa hotel with intention of using the swimning pool and relax. Both were prevented by the lack of peace and the pool invaded by dozens of small children, not even properly supervised, playing in it for time slots longer than three hours at popular day times. Absence of swimming lanes made it impossible to share it and swim, and unbearable level of noise in the all spa areas made it impossible to relax as expected in a spa. The changing rooms were busy, floaded and dirty, with items left all over.
The room was spacious and the bed comfortable, but rooms are lacking noise insulation, noise till late at night and very early morning from other rooms, children playing and screeming in corridors and slamming doors. It was like being in a kindergarden camp holiday park, surly not a spa hotel! No peace and a bad night sleep.
I didn't enjoy at all my stay and couldn't have a decent rest.

Great location for work. Rooms clean.
Pool closed. Pillows in the bed were rubbish.

Location
Pool not in use, temperature of shower in room kept fluctuating.

Modern and clean
They had a ladies aqua aerobics class which effectively closed the swimming pool for the majority of the morning.
Breakfast was OK but not great.

•The staff went out of their way to do everything they could for you. Very professional and polite at all times.
• bed was very comfortable
• the cost of the drinks. We had 2 sandwiches and 2 drinks off the bar menu and the cost was £45.90. The sandwiches were £12 each which was ok leaving £21.90 for 2 drinks which I think was very expensive.
• we have stayed in 3 other McDonald hotels and resorts and was disappointed with this one.
• expected more grounds to walk around in from pictures, hotel is surrounded by new housing estate and further building.
. Decor needs updating.

Welcoming, clean and pleasant aroma in reception upon arrival. Food was incredible.
The swimming pool was very small and the ceiling had black mold. The steam room smelt musty.
3.8
Buffet style breakfast. Really tasty. Some items cost extra but are cooked on request.
The phone wasn't working in our room so couldn't order room service. But nothing was to much trouble for the staff
3.8
staff were very helpful and polite very focused on their job, the spa facilities were 'free' to use which was a nice extra treat. The rooms were nice and clean with good facilities including a fridge...very comfortable bed and pillows..
i didnt like the first room as it was too dark and a little depressing being on the ground floor, but the staff were happy to change my room which i really appreciated... Bar was very expensive and the whole hotel is cashless which i dont like in any business. I ordered Breakfast as it was discounted to £12, lots on offer at the buffet but not worth the full price of £24 and as it wasn't a busy service some of the food had past its best..be aware of an additional £8 service change on any room service order..

The breakfast was wonderful & for me was the price of said hotel may have been slightly lower than I paid.
The bar should have had the option of packs of Crisps Or Salted nuts but sadly non was available & they only Offered me side order snacks to me.
3.8
The location was ideal for us and the added facilities of gym and pool
The gym could have been cleaner and the pool and changing rooms needed a little tlc
3.8
Was quiet and that’s what we were after. As we went at not a busy time
That our room was quite dirty and food crumbs were on the floor
3.8
Good location and good value for money
All good

The room was very clean and tidy facilities were great, bed was comfy and staff were wonderful.
Nothing it was a wonderful stay

Breakfast was good. Lots of choice in the buffet, coffee out of the dispensers was better than expected, hot food such as eggs & bacon was included even though the included breakfast was listed as "continental".
I found a great spacious parking spot (important to me).
Staff on the front desk and in the restaurant were lovely, professional and very helpful, even though they were busy. They put some ice packs in the freezer for me, and gave me a jug of fresh milk for tea.
I liked having a pool and exercise room available (one of the reasons I picked the hotel) but I didn't use them as I was too tired from my days activities.
The room was very tired. It was spacious enough and the bed was very comfortable, but the bathroom especially felt like it hadn't had a deep clean in years. There was even a wet grubby cleaning cloth left in the middle of the floor! (I didn't tell the front desk about this as they were so busy with cruise guests. I just pushed it out of my sight.)
3.8
It was a nice hotel. The room was a bit small but clean and comfortable.
Our meal was great and was served super quick considering it was very busy in the restaurant.
There was a big car park but it took quite a while before we found a space.
It was a very busy hotel and there was a shortage of staff so we were ignored while waiting to order a drink at the bar, then the same thing happened when we arrived at the restaurant. We were given free desserts to make up for being ignored for 10 minutes which was nice of waiter. Apart from that it was a good stay.
3.8
The rooms were spacious
The fridge in room didn’t work , the shower was cold and the breakfast was appalling considering it cost £24 per person .
3.8
Breakfast was good a good variety of food
Nothing
3.8
The rooms were incredibly comfortable and quiet
3.8
Location was great.
Breakfast was too expensive and that was after it was knocked down from £24 a person to £18 per person.
3.8
The meal was very nice. It was abit uncomfortable with the waitresses standing around the room watching you eat. Otherwise it was quite nice
Some of the main carpet to the rooms was frayed and I tripped up on it. Otherwise very nice
3.8
Sorry but nothing really good to say
Swimming Pool closed, no warning at time of booking , staff were very disinterested & left empty plates etc on tables long after food finished ( not exactly like they were busy as only a handful of people in bar), Sports Bar was closed, main bar for want of a better expression was soulless ( Gods Waiting Room) , corridors in down stairs area smelt very mustardy, damp.
3.8
The staff were very friendly.
EV charging, but pricey for 7kW chargers and a hassle to set up, probably why saw no-one else using them. Tip for hotel owners, you need to check out how the charging experience before installing so your guests stand around for 20 minutes in the dark (and cold/wet) with no lights - another tip, install lights by chargers, trying to get the charger to work with an app that is more useless than a chocolate teapot on a hot summer's day.
The hotel is a just another relatively modern clinical superficial box structure devoid of character ticking boxes apart form some window dressing to somehow try to make you believe it is grander than it is.
Room was poorly sound insulated, could hear Snorey McSnorasson behind me all night, the middle of the night film above me (have people not worked out volume controls and the middle of the night?), and on the other side let's just say they must have been in chastity for 10 years and sore in the morning, the room might as well been a tent for the sound proofing it had. Overall about 3 hours sleep.
Also no plug socket beside the bed, this is the 21st century not the 1970s.
Buffet breakfast was sub standard for an apparently 4 star hotel with cheap bacon, watery orange juice etc. Also pepper is to season, not have the tomato as an accompaniment to the pepper. Breakfast staff were very nice though.
Overall, definitely not four star IRL despite the ticking the four star boxes on the hotel star form.

I like the way the facilities are set out!! I staff were lovely and the food was good.
The cost of what this hospitality cost, is ridiculous. I go to many spa hotels and to be frank, I was expecting more. It’s not awful, by any means, but the costing needs to reflect the experience.
3.8
Location
Food was nothing more than pub food and yet it is described as much more!
3.8
pleasant surroundings outside
poor check in, language barrier we were informed that breakfast was £40 per head ??? so did not have breakfast we went local 'Next'
Service was extremely slow, we ate or evening meal outside as the weather was really nice. There was one young man in the sports lounge that was run off his feet, and we had to wait ages for a drink and our food - we ordered a botte of water which took at least 15 minutes
3.8
Room was cleaned every day and was spotless very comfy
Meal at the hotel was really nice definitely recommend
There was a wedding at the hotel one of the nights and it was very noisy people up and down the corridors, and when we mentioned it the next day, staff were not really interested.
Our room was right beside fire door which could be doing with soft closing and was very squeaky

The piano bar.
Dinning area at dinner felt disorganised and service was very slow. Waiters seemed to forget to take our order and several other tables who sat after us ordered and ate before us.
The spa swimming pool area was cold and lacked atmosphere. You couldn’t sit around the pool to read as it was too cold at 23c. And water temperature was also colder than I’d expect for a spa. The sauna was out of action. Thankfully the steam room was working but didn’t smell too good.
3.8
Very nice room, lovely hotel. Friendly staff, very helpful.
Found something expensive. And choice of food was not much. Upset no sauna working and steam room packed up.

We were here celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary, we were greeted by a lovely man on the desk (unsure of his name sorry) we have enjoyed the facilities and the reasturant during our 3 night stay. We have been greeted by the very energetic young man callum on the bar, we have been served by the very smiley zoe in the restaurant of an evening, all of this has been overseen by the very attentive and supportive reasturant manager Sian who absolutely kept the ship going. We have had a wonderful stay. Thank you.
Some of the spa facilities were out of action for the entire time of our 3 day stay (sauna & steam room)
3.8
Poor organisation in restaurant waited 45 minutes in a que to be seated and then two choices left from the menu
Old glasses and plates left on tables in bar area lounges and landings for a very long time not really what I expected I have stayed here many times and to be honest it’s getting progressively worse
3.8
Handy for a night before travelling to Southampton. Nice staff, clean and tidy, and value for money
Nothing really
3.8
Good location, spacious rooms. Reasonably priced
The younger bar staff and waitresses were disinterested, lacked interpersonal skills, and bordered on rudeness due to their absolute inability to engage with us. That being said, Zaid on reception was professional, approachable and helpful, as was Claire.
3.8
It's close proximity to Southampton to board our cruise.
We visited this hotel many years ago frequently and found that it had changed quite a lot, and not for the better. There was no lift and we had extremely heavy cases which we had to lump up the stairs. The hotel itself used to be nestled in rolling countryside and now there is a building site at the end of the road building new houses. Used to have a family feel, now it feels more corporate.
3.8
Nice surroundings
Very poor service for meals in bar
