Chilham is a lovely place to visit it has all the charm & character of a historical English village.
The Wool pack Inn is located just a short stroll from the village & a stones throw away from the train station.
The pub & restaurant provide a selection of food & drink suitable for the average traveller & the rooms available are more than adequate for a few nights stay.
The information stated on the website with regards to opening times for the restaurant are subject to change, especially without either notice or subject to availability so don't rely upon it.
My en suit didn't have a slip mat even though it clearly states that floor gets wet & can be slippery.
There is no water provided in the room & the water in the bathroom isn't approved as drinkable.
You may want to check that you have sufficient milk for the tea & coffee provided as it appears to be in short supply.

Having not received the notification that The Woolpack had changed ownership a month ago & the new owners had embarked on a major internal revamp of the hotel therefore there was no breakfast provided nor restaurant dining available in evening, we were still warmly welcomed, given an upgrade of our room & a downward adjustment of the tariff. Despite their exhaustion the hosts still provided bar services to us & loyal local patrons.
Bearing in mind the above comment, there was nothing we disliked - in fact the informality that prevailed was absolutely to our liking.

Good breakfast,
Room needs updating, Mattress very firm, rusty radiator, Single glazed windows, creaky floors, noisy pluming, no soundproofing (can hear talking, toilets flushing, and movement from all other rooms. Left after Two Days Booked Three.

Evening meal was good and fresh. Quiet location and convenient for the station (10 min walk). Nice rural village
Like many small inns post pandemic I suspect margins are tight - touch up on the decor might be timely

The Woolpack Inn provides a typical choice of both afternoon & evening meal opportunities, both of these are worth exploring especially if you have been on a long local walk or about to consider a short walk after.
The room was very spacious & provided wonderful rest & comfort, the bathroom was fully stocked with toiletries as well as shower shampoo & bathing salts.
There is a personal area leading into a garden with both seating, table & chair which has a grassed area & trees for a nice sunny day, nice for a evenings drink under the glorious night sky.
The room requires a little maintenance to bring it up to more suitable standards, but this doesn't interfere with the comfort of any stay.
The restaurant has been fitted with profound lighting which doesn't suit the character of the decor, but I shall let you each be the judge of your thoughts.

The room was comfortable with all the amenities where a weeks stay would be beneficial.
Only a short walk from both Chilham train station as well as a short walk from Chilham village, where you will find a quintile picturesque square with manor house & pubs.
Enjoyable walks around the local area as well as short walks to idealistic locations, historic places of interest & beautiful streams & rivers.
Breakfast at the Woolpack was both a good selection & worth getting out of bed early for.
A little maintenance work is required on the room, as well as some of the lighting decor in the restaurant needs to be reconsidered.

Great, friendly professional staff, extremely welcoming.
Very little, radiator covers were loose, but that is arguably being picky!

Friendly staff, early check in, location to venue. Breakfast included and lots of choice.
Rooms quite dated, bathroom grubby. Lots of noise from others walking up stairs and above room.

Staff were brilliant and friendly and welcoming. Food was lovely. Had dinner there as well as breakfast and the use of local produce was evident in the quality and flavour.
The bed was incredibly uncomfortable and resulted in only about 3 hours sleep when I gave up and turned 180 degrees so my head was at the foot of the bed. Definitely needs flipping. Also the WiFi didn't work in my room and it was not possible to resolve it which was disappointing

location was good , the two young ladies were fantastic always able to help.
The TV didn’t work had to get it changed , no fridge to keep things cold , not enough ice available , no cold water in the shower couldn’t stand under it at all to hot. No continental breakfast available. with the hot weather no fan available went and bought our own. cleaning the room was not cleaned daily in fact not at all only put fresh towels and never removed the old ones.
