Location
Would have hoped to have some views from the restaurant. Atmosphere wasn’t that great.
4.0
The view was absolutely beautiful, the staff were very friendly and nice, the food was nice. The grounds are very beautiful and big, only a two minute walk down the road from Rutland water and a beautiful area
Our room didn't have hot water and house balcony was full of bird poop (we got the lake view room so wanted to sit on the balcony but couldn't). Also had trouble finding out room as no one showed us around

Location and very dog friendly indeed. On line check in was superb as was actual check in.
The staff in the restaurant/dog friendly areas/terrace were superb. The bar service was excellent as was the service. Cannot fault it.
For this standard of hotel the grounds were good but the volume of weeds around the resort suggests a lack of staff. A shame for those working so hard. Have stayed in many places like this and the grounds are always immaculate. Makes such a difference to a quality destination.
Our ground floor room 505 was very good. But! The outside terrace was a disgrace. Weeds growing must have been so for many months.
The terrace area chairs outside the restaurant had no cushions so most uncomfortable. Limited menu despite what is portrayed on the website. Mis-leading.

Beautiful location. Delicious food at Blossoms. Clean well stocked rooms. Nice walkways and access to the reservoir.
Could do with a snack bar. Don't always need a large meal. Dissapointed the spa was closed.

The location is great. Rooms are clean and modern. Restaurant food much better than expected, charming service. Breakfast excellent.
It doesn’t provide comfortable seating in the grounds for hotel guests. There are plenty of nice garden areas where guests could sit overlooking the reservoir. You need tables, comfortable chairs and umbrellas .
Guests could sit out in the sunshine. We wanted to sit outside, tried one of the picnic tables but the road was very busy and the seats were uncomfortable. We didn’t want to go back to our room, ( only 4.00pm) so we ended up in the ‘waiting room’ trying to read! You have acres of lovely gardens but nowhere to sit in them!
There is no sitting room in the main hotel, only the ‘waiting room’ next to reception. So it’s a great hotel unless you are a hotel guest. Such a shame as the potential is huge.

Breakfast was good and grounds were stunning
No hospitality from staff!
Room very tiny with no long mirror just A4 size mirror so difficult to dress for the wedding
Shower door seal was worn so all the water leaked out
2.5
Room was excellent decor but lacked air conditioning and was extremely hot. We were supplied an electric fan, which was totally inadequate for the size of room, resulting in little sleep
Buffet breakfast was plentiful, but cooked breakfast was kept warm via heat lamps. Only one coffee machine for apparox 200 guests and one pint of milk at a time, refilling was continuous for the 2 serving waiters, completely understaffed and I have had quieter breakfasts at McDonalds and better service.

Looks good and clean
Bedroom was so small I had to bend sideways to get around the room it was not cosy as described it is just small
2.5
Location next to Rutland water was fantastic regards the views.
Breakfast was good with plenty of choice.
The restaurant had problems on the Tuesday night which meant the was no evening meal available to any of the guests. Whilst very apologetic the staff had no plan in place to deal with the issue (it had been ongoing during the day!). This issue was compounded by the fact that the hotel was generally 15 mins travel to any alternative eatery.
4.5
Great customer service. Hotel spread out so didn't feel busy which was great.
Liked everything about property. Maybe a few smaller dishes on menu if don't want full dinner.

Beautiful setting and grounds ,right next to Rutland water.
Room was large and beautifully furnished and decorated. Bed was extremely large and comfy. Well stocked hospitality tray and good coffee machine. Nice view from patio doors.
Plenty of choice at breakfast .
Booked Afternoon tea in Blossoms restaurant, and we were a bit disappointed with the offerings. The sandwiches were a bit dry, and there were no choices of teas offered.
Breakfast times could have been later , everything was removed by 09.30

Room was good
Could not understand why no plug in the bathroom sink. Steep site for older people.

Not alot
Shower was not working for 2/3 of our stay, contacted the reception several times, all said they’d never heard it before and they’ll put it on the maintenance log. Only substitute for a shower we got told we had was to “book into the pool, they have showers there”. Let down by the staff entirely, will not go again.

Great location
Some rooms were very dark

Location. Food was generally quite good.
Restaurant food was quite expensive, and the overall ambience was more of a golf clubhouse than a hotel restaurant. Decor generally, and particularly in our bedroom, was rather drab and dated. The use of yellowy-orange low wattage bulbs everywhere gives an awful lack of light, particularly in bedroom where you could not see sufficiently well to read a book after dark. The hotel overall could be so special, but the decor detracts from the overall experience.

The grounds were fantastic to walk round and enjoy, view from our room was spot on.
Location as just off the A1

The hotel was lovely the views from balcony in my mum's room was great , the rooms were well kept the breakfast well organised and well presented. The staff were very nice polite and helpfull
The rowdy occupants that ruined my night's sleep arguing in the hall ....and the lack of parking onsight parking needs to be resolved for residents
4.0
Beautiful location , room was beautifully laid out and large but no lake view as expected.. (and paid for !)
More attention needed to the rooms.. our Terrace was full of weeds and the bathroom door desperately needed painting .. the web site for our room stated a lake view which we definitely didn’t have .. also need to inform guests where the style is to get out of the grounds onto the path .,

At breakfast nuts and seeds selection v good. Bread and croissant v good. Fruit v good.
The room was excellent, beautifully positioned, large, comfortable and clean.
The cooked breakfast was luke warm because the hot plate was set too low. At the evening meal parts of the meal had not been heated through properly and were luke warm.
The gardens looked unkempt.

We stayed in a lodge which was excellent. The kitchen was equipped with everything that was required and more.
Furnishings were also excellent.
We hope to make a return visit very soon, we absolutely loved the area.
We cannot think of any improvement, maybe the pathway could have had a sweep and the hedges cut back a little.
It would have been nice to have had Wi-Fi in the lodge, but no big issue.

location is nice overlooking Rutland Water reservoir
Location: the hotel complex is spread over the side of a hill, from the hotel to get to the restaurant and bar is up and 3+ flights of stairs, a nightmare for anyone with even slight mobility issues or older family members. this is not evident on the hotel website and we would not have booked this venue for the family get together had we known.
Rooms: the cosy rooms are TINY and @ £160 per room ridiculously overpriced! we booked 6 bedrooms in total, several rooms had a view of just a brick wall outside window @ 2 metres away - almost touching distance. Shower set too low above bath as ceiling was too low - couldn’t stand up in shower as head was touching ceiling! some rooms only had hot water intermittently.
Bathroom extractor fan was not working in some rooms, toilet didn’t flush properly. mould around silicon / grout in bathroom. Towel rail not warming / radiator not working in bathroom. No fridge in room so no cold drinks or anywhere to keep items cool in room. Extractor and towel rail issues were raised early with reception, but not fixed.
We booked private dining for a family event with 13 guests; the menu choice was limited as hotel wouldn’t allow us to choose from a la carte menu?

The check in was very swift.Location was fabulous. Food at Blossoms restaurant was superb.
The hotel setting was excellent. I had booked a room described as cosy. Although comfortable It was on the small side.
