Great location and loved all the dogs. We were made to feel very welcome.

Very pleasant, apart from the bathroom mirror in room 5! Location is beautiful
The bathroom mirror in room 5. My husband could hardly see to shave. He is 6' tall but he really struggled and mirror was too far away. I'm 5'3" so had no chance. Could just about see top of my head! Hate not being able to make up in bathroom

Ice and clean , friendly staff , lovely choice on brekky

Great location for access to Lake Windermere and Ambleside.
Food and service in the pub/restaurant was acceptable - standard pub grub.
The bedding was cheap and the room facilities very basic for what was supposed to be a superior room.
Lighting was inadequate - I was unable to read by the light of the bedside lamp.
Room was situated in a separate accommodation block set apart from the main building so we had to walk through the rain to get to the restaurant.
4.2
This property is in the most stunning location at the top of lake Windermere. It’s a traditional pub with modern, tasteful decor fitting to the look of the building. Everything about it is wonderful.
I liked everything

We stayed here for one night on the way back from Scotland. We loved the lakeside position of the hotel and the views. The staff were all very welcoming and professional. The breakfast was well presented and tasty. The bed was comfortable. Easy access to Ambleside town and the hotel has a beer garden which is lakeside. We ordered lunch separately and the food was delicious.
Our room was on the first floor overlooking the flat roof for the kitchens below. The extractor fans on the roof are quite noisy. They are turned off over night however so didn't keep us awake.
4.2
The large bath in our room was amazing and the view we had was exceptional, the location overall was amazing with a little walk into Ambleside and the boats on our doorstop to travel the lake.
The breakfast area was small which can’t be helped however if there was an area/table/bench to make up your cup of tea it would be a massive help as the water is right next to the buffet area

Friendly staff, clean, ample car parking, and excellent location. Lovely breakfast.
The trees growing in the middle of the car park.

Fantastic views of Lake Windermere and very dog friendly. Staff were all very helpful and worked very hard. Food in restaurant was excellent, especially the chowder
A bit hectic for poor member of staff who had to cope with queue of people at 3pm check in time.
4.2
Location, staff, food and a clean and comfortable room with view of the lake. Perfect. We cannot wait to stay again.

I ate in the hotel restaurant every night of my stay and was very happy with the quality of the food and the attentive service of Liz.
I was happy with everything. Room great, views from the restaurant gorgeous.

Room...clean,comfortable
Breakfast was under cooked.

Location was beautiful and liked sofa in room
Breakfast was disappointing. Bright light from smoke detector in bedroom kept me awake

Location was very good , as a lone traveler it was very convenient to have the hotel over the road on the lake serving wholesome food, the pier was a stone throw away making access to tour the lakes easy. A short walk into Ambleside, a delightful village, and bus stops to access other villages was so convenient.
The pillows on the bed I found too hard.
4.2
The location was brilliant
We had a room with a balcony the room was huge.
Super clean.
Bed so comfortable.
Really lovely breakfast cooked fresh, which meant you might have to wait, but it wasn't a problem and meant everything was fresh and not dried up.
Staff friendly and helpful
There is building work going on but it didn't cause any problems.
The only thing is the setup for breakfast (maybe if the toaster could be repositioned ) and maybe set a bit higher was only just toasted.
4.2
Location was fantastic, staff really friendly & helpful
Lake 'view' from suite wasnt the best - mostly obstructed by a tee-pee and scaffolding - Room itself was fine.
4.2
The hotel was clean and very comfortable with friendly helpful staff, good food and parking close by. It is situated in a great location close to Lake Windermere with good views over the Lake.
There was nothing that I disliked about the property.
4.2
Location
Breakfast was poor, buffet style cold with basic items not topped up without asking the staff who could it be found.
Evening meals limited and they had shortages ie no saliva or Pizza
Staff never about when needed
4.2
The location was absolutely fantastic and the staff are really friendly. Plenty of parking and a 2min walk to get to the pier and there are lovely places to sit and just look over the lake but you can also do this at the hotel. The food, staff, room and grounds are perfect for the dogs and such a relaxing place to stay, we will definitely be back. 😁
There wasn't one thing we didn't like about the wateredge inn, everything was perfect. (Even the weather) ☀️

Great location on the side of the lake - fantastic views - good local facilities.
The staff were very friendly and helpful as the hotel had just opened after refurbishment, and they were trying to get everything up and running for visitors.
We booked a garden room, however building work was still going on, the noise was quite loud during the day as there was a generator running outside our room, and lots of workmen around.
4.2
The room was very small, poor value for money, won't be going again.
4.2
The food
It's the smallest room I've ever stayed in. My head literally touched the ceiling
4.2
The Breakfast was good, The Room was spacious and clean, The Location was perfect, we would recommend it to anyone
We can’t think of anything?
4.2
Fantastic location and large room
Quite noisy but probably due to the building being old
4.2
Location beautiful, dining by the lake was lovely
Not sure if room was above kitchen ,but was too warm during the night even with window open ,considering the weather was nice but not overly warm for September
4.2
Good location
Lots of steps
4.2
direct access to lake windermere
awful rooms with cardboard pillows and threadbare carpets. the stench of dog was like staying in a kennel.
the quality of the food is poor and overpriced
4.2
Location over looking Lake Windermere - stunning.. sharing a drink on the lawns beautiful.. Ambleside very pretty. Staff friendly and efficient. They coped well with the number of people.
We were there during holiday time and it was a very popular - the hotel and location in general. We didn't mind that - but go in a quieter time to experience the hotel and pretty Ambleside if you aren't into lots of people. - A jolly holiday experience
