Wonderful staff, particularly Abdul who went out of his way to welcome us and give us all the local info we could need. Once in the riad everything was beautiful, calm and so relaxing. Pool, sheltered outdoor spaces and rooftop glory. Fantastic breakfasts and evening meals (we ran out of time to try latter but know they will have been incredible). The Kasbah area is quieter than the medina but still close enough to really enjoy the markets. Totally recommend!

The staff are amazing, so helpful and lovely, making the stay so easy and comfortable. Super clean and comfortable. Wonderful breakfast.
The room was a little small for three adults, in hindsight we should have booked two rooms.

In Marrakesh's heart,
Riad whispers ancient tales,
Timeless oasis.
Sizzling heat waves dance,
Cool pool invites soothing respite,
Escape summer's grasp.
Guiding through the path,
Staff of generosity,
Kindness lights the way.
Nothing but nothing but nothing but nothing was bad but this box needs to be filled. So with aimless wandering I could find no fault but egregious joys last only so long.

It was my first trip to Marrakesh, and finding the Riad Shemsi was initially a little tricky - but it was well worth it.
The team are outstanding. Very friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and made me feel very much at home! The swimming pool area is beautiful, and the roof terrace was great to sit with a coffee and absorb the sounds of Marrakesh waking up.
The breakfast is excellent - my first intro to Moroccan pancakes! And the portions are incredibly generous.
This is more on me, but I am a little noise sensitive so being on the ground floor with the lounge area just outside my room, was a little noisy for me - but nothing headphones couldn't handle (i.e. there are no parties - just the sounds of talking etc.)

Absolutely fantastic place. Wonderful, cozy rooms. Pleasant smell. Refreshing pool. Delicious breakfast. We especially want to thank the staff who gave their full attention in a stressful situation. Since we had to leave the country in a hurry, this place was the last one we stayed at, and we felt extremely safe. Although we had to stop the trip - we believe that we will come back to you again.
Nothing.

The pool was great to cool down in July as well as the air conditioning in the room. The Riad is located in a quiet street too.
It's a little walk from some tourist attractions but at the same time it is also away from the crowd.

The Riad is located in a very nice neighborhood inside Medina of Marrakesh. It is small and peaceful.
Abdallah and Rachid are very helpful and always available to help, the service and the food is excellent, rooms are nice and clean. If you go by car the best way to find the location which is close to the Riad is café Clock. You can call the guys 10 min before your arrival and they will wait there for you and they will help you with your suitcases.
Parking is max 10 min walking and the guys will take you there.
Overall a very nice experience.
Thank you guys.

So many plus points for this delightful Riad. The staff - especially Abdessamad (Sam) & Rashid - were excellent hosts.
The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast healthy and hearty. The rooftop terrace a little haven away from the other guests (see below). I would have no hesitation in recommending this property, but only on the condition that the other rooms where not booked by large groups.
There are 5 rooms and 1 suite at the Riad. Our party occupied 2 of the rooms. Unfortunately the remaining 3 rooms & suite were occupied by a large party of American families who basically 'took over' the Riad - even to the extreme of inviting in some of their friends who were staying in other accommodation to join their partying! There was little, or no, consideration for other paying guests staying at the Riad. The sheer volume of 10+ people & screaming (boy did they scream!) kids around the little pool completely shattered what would have otherwise been a serene, calm oasis away from the lunacy of the rest of the city (Marrakech is fantastic fun, but you do need a break from the hussle and bussle of the main square). Had I been aware of the room allocation, I would have sought out alternative accommodation as our stay was definitely impacted by the behaviour of the other guests.

Our stay at Riad Shemsi was simply exceptional. The facilities are exactly as shown in the photos, very well maintained and super clean. The location is great, walking distance to every landmark but in a quieter area which allows for a more relaxing and pleasant stay. It is also very convenient for car pick-up and drop-off points for daytrips, arrivals, departures, etc. The staff is super welcoming and always willing to do anything in their power to make you feel comfortable and at home. Breakfast is very nice, with something new everyday. The dinners are also delicious, great quantity and the food is all homemade, it was probably the best we had in Marrakesh. We definitely recommend it and can’t wait to come back!

Very good but fairly basic

We liked the style and character of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff. The breakfast was nice.
It was a little hard to communicate to arrange things, for example our pre-arranged airport transfer didn’t arrive at the airport to collect us. And there was no information about Marrakesh easily available/on display in the hotel.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating, the neighbourhood was safe and not a far walk to the medina.
The lighting in the room is a bit dim without windows.

Riad Shemsi was lovely. The staff were excellent and very obliging. I had a couple of evening meals which I enjoyed and the breakfast was different and delicious each day. It is a very friendly place. It is ideally located 15 minutes walk from Jamaa de Fey. The rooms are lovely.
There were no problems. Some advice for future travellers. Better not to change money in the airport- rate terrible and they will try to sell you a credit card, which was not helpful. Cafe Clock around the corner is great. Bargain for everything but especially taxis. Enjoy Riad Shemsi.

Staff extremely nice and provided us with whatever we needed, an umbrella, more coffee or even customized lunch!
Breakfast great. All Homemade.
Room beautiful, clean and Marrocan style as we wanted.
Room a little bit too dark, but everything is like that in Marrakech...

Great friendly service, great breakfast prepared from start to finish for quests, very clean riad, comfy and relaxing sun beds on the floor, convenient location, beautiful venue. There are couple very good restaurants next to riad: rooftop eclipse and clock, I recommend trying them out while here.
Bathroom and shower sewers overflow easily. There was a water boiler in our room that supported also the room next to us. The boiler woke us up with loud buzzing noise couple times during night when other quests decided to take a shower. AC unit didn't work but we quickly got a radiator to heat the room.

lovely Riad, interior styling beautiful
slight miscommunication about a cancellation then future booking meant we paid for 3 nights that we didn’t have ( because of illness)
the Riad took another booking but charged us too.
I thought this was a bit mean.

The riad is very beautiful! I loved the nice details in the room like having a cozy bathrobe and having all the nice items in the room that made it so Moroccan. The products in the bathroom smelled really nice and made your hair and skin very soft. The personnel was nice as they prepared a dinner for me even though the kitchen was closed. Overall nice experience~
Would have liked if the pool had warm water, being November we could not use it

Staff were lovely and very helpful when I was ill, breakfast was great. Hotel was situated in the old part of the city, was lovely.
Pool could've been warmer but this was the time of the year.

What a beautiful stay! All of the staff are so welcoming - it feels like a home away from home. Riad Shemsi were so accommodating of our flight times allowing early check in and late check out. the location is perfect - away from the hustle and bustle and only a 10 minute walk to the Medina. Home cooked breakfast was a treat!
