Exceptional

The property has been beautifully landscaped and is so well taken care of. Gorgeous shrubs and trees that are well established and flowering all the time. It was quiet and felt so safe and secure. The owners are so friendly, and greeted us with fresh coconuts. All the staff are warm and kind, the gardener and housekeepers were so happy and full of smiles. Every time our cabin was cleaned housekeeping would put fresh flowers around our cabin, and it was such a wonderful touch. So close (3 minutes) to two beaches and restaurants, and a short walk into the cute little town.

Everything was perfect, absolutely no complaints!

Peaceful relaxation near beach and park so you can choose your own vacation vibe.

Great location off the beaten path so it was quiet, but only 5 minutes to town and beach. Gardens and porch on front of casita just oozed calm and peace. Luciano and staff were helpful and kind. a perfect 3 days for my family.

Wonderful place to stay near Cahuita

Beatiful property surrounded by lovely gardens which bring freshness and attract birds. The house is charming, with a well equipped kitchen, everything is pristine clean and very comfy. The location couldn’t be better, is just a few steps from the beach but secluded enough to be calm and silent.

A beautiful apartment with wonderful staff in a fantastic location.

The room was spotlessly clean and beautifully presented with flowers placed all around the apartment. Marice and her staff made us feel so welcome and went out of their way to help if they were asked anything. They even helped us find somewhere that would replace a tyre on our rental vehicle. The beautiful beach is just a short stroll down a narrow road. The grounds had loads of birds and wild life that we could view from our balcony. I would love to stay here again.

Repaxed stay for a family

Great choice for a family of 4. It was our last stay traveling through Costa Rica and it was perfect. wNice garden, short walk to the beach, which is beautiful (Playa Negra) and offers a lot of fun for kids. Short walk (15min) to the town.

The house is very close to the beach, if you want only to swim, you don't have to settle down there just walk 50 meters, swim and come back to the beautiful garden. Yes, the house has very nice garden, with lots of birds and aguties in the morning. By the way there are bars and few resaurants in the nearby.

Home away from home

I have stayed at Casa Marcellino many times, as a local Costa Rican I can say it always feels like a home away from home. The houses have everything you need and the owners are lovely. The gardens are beautiful and location is walking distance from the beach and really close to the center of town, but far enough that you have complete peace. They are pet friendly and always treat my dogs with love.

The main areas might be a little tight if you have a larger group.

Lovely small complex in great location, with wildlife all around.

Lovely complex with great security and nice family-run atmosphere. Close to beach. Short walk into town. Some wildlife come inside the compound, making it fascinating place to relax. Nearby national park, snorkelling and local tour guides were superb, arranged through Casa Marcellino.

Night walks to and from town in dark not great, but not too far.

Wonderful place and super friendly hosts

We hat great days there. From the property it's a 5 min walk to Playa Negra and 10 min walkt into the "town". The property itself is wonderful, the host and the staff is super friendly. We felt very welcomed.

Accomodation in a hidden garden

Beautiful, peaceful area in Cahuita not far from the city center and just few minutes walk to black beach. We really enjoy our stay.

Superb

The location was great! Easy walking to the beach, town and the national park. The staff was lovely and friendly and went above and beyond to help us feel comfortable and welcome, especially the house keeper Raquel. The dogs were sweet and made it feel even more like home!

Wonderful place, hosts and their team. They have thought of everything. We had all we needed to cook our meals. Hot water in kitchen and bathroom at all times, this is unusual for Costa Rica. They even had a small electric juicer for fresh juice daily. Would recommend without hesitation

there could have been a little more light in the kitchen for doing dishes in the evening - that's it!

Lovely hosts

The hosts are the nicest couple we have met in Costa Rica! They also gave us a coconut to drink when we left the lodge. They bungalows are nice equipped, clean and lovely. We loved the hammock. If I will come back to Cahuita I will book the Lodge again.

Dissapointing

The bathroom was nice. Garden area was nice as well!

We don't think we were treated the way we expected. Owner claimed wanting to charge 80+ dollars for the stay of 2 puppies we brought along. We misunderstood pet friendly and thought that didn't include any extra charges.We now understand we should have read the accomodation's policies, but still think it wasn't handled properly. I think they should also warn guests of the fact that they have 4 loose dogs in their property. The villa is very small. Also, we found dishes were dirty with mice or rats' poop inside the cabinets. That was gross!

purest pura vida

Charming and comfy lodges, the cleanest place I have seen anywhere... could have eaten out of the laundry sink or the floor it was so clean and sparkly everywhere. Gardens are breathtaking. Location and welcome were perfect. leave your car there and you are a short walk from everything, yet sheltered from the noise in the centre. The best place we stayed at in tis part of the country. Highly recommended!

Perfect small houses in a safe and beautiful property only 5 mins walk to the beach. Perfect service and Ambiente. Loved specially the hammock and all the flowers in the lovely garden ❤️❤️

A jewel in the Costa Rica South Caribbean

This is an outstanding property very close to Cahuita National Park, surrounded by nature with a great staff that will support all your needs and provide the best stay you can imagine in Costa Rican Caribbean. Maricé and Luciano welcome you with a smile and are constantly trying to make you feel at home. In this property, families or couple or groups of friends can prepare they own meals, it has everything for a short or long stay. It has private parking, is safe and a precious jewel in terms of nature. We loved it and will return.

Casa Marcellino owners are such great hosts. The property is super nice, comfy, cute and very clean. I felt quickly home when I arrived. And I love Cahuita as well! This small city is the perfect place to stay in the region if you wanna chill!
