Everything was perfect from communication to cleanliness to accommodations. Highly recommended. The only place we'll stay in the area. Thank you!

Communication was easy, owner was close by with any questions or needs. Home was adorable and had everything we needed for our long stay.

Three generations of men went to have a salmon fishing trip. They loved the cabin! There is a freezer. The host checked in frequently to see if they needed anything. He also pointed them to a fishing spot that was their favorite spot. They want to go back😊

This is a great place that is very quaint and quiet. Chris is great to work with and made sure we had everything we needed. This is our second year staying there and it is always very pleasant!

If you're looking for a quiet, comfortable, off the beaten track cabin nestled in the woods, this could be the place. Quick walk to wildlife, lake fun and miles of wilderness to enjoy. The cabin is up to date, very clean and well supplied.

Quiet, roomy for 2 or 4 guests
Direct TV was weak and useless
Not much view other than trees surrounding the property, so don’t expect to see mountains or the river from your cabin
Internet did not work at all and never reset/rebooted successfully over 5 days by the property manager
Clothes Washer had moldy odor so we ran it 3 times with Affresh Washer cleaner and Clorox sprayed the seal to get it clean.
It’s a laid back experience so that is good, so get outdoors since that’s why you are there

Beautiful cabin tucked in the woods away from the crowds. Chris was great to rent from. He even brought us a couple of things we forgot.

My Dad brothers and I made our first trip to Alaska to salmon fish. This location was perfect and close to all the hot spots. It had all the amenities one would need. The deep freezer was great along with the nice large kitchen for packaging our fish. Also the availability of laundry was very nice. Chris was very helpful and easy to deal with. I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent stay very remote and quiet. The owner was very helpful even let us borrow a cooler so we could go fish! Highly recommend!

Hubby and I vacationed here to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. A true gem off the beaten path!!! Being in the wilderness (when we were not exploring) was a true tranquil space. The rainy season had already started. It was nice to spend a little bit more time at the cabin on one morning. They had a deep freezer on property to store our fish to return home with. Chris was very knowledgeable! We highly recommend this cabin in the woods.

Great cabin. We got just what we bargained for, a beautiful cabin in a remote setting.

Great place to stay
Terrific place to stay. Chris was very responsive, check-in was a breeze, and the cabin is actually nicer than it appears in the photos.
Pros: Quiet, Wireless internet was very fast and capable of supporting browsing/text/VOIP, gas grill on back deck looks brand new and worked flawlessly, upstairs bed was very comfortable (not too soft). Water pressure was amazing and the tankless water heater means unlimited hot water...you aren't working off some tiny tank. The front-loading washer/dryer were awesome to have also as being able to do laundry at home is a huge plus. Conveniently located in the full bathroom downstairs off the kitchen.
Cons, as other people might look at them, there was no functional TV service at all. Not a single channel worked. Not a problem for us as we don't watch TV at home and didn't plan to on our trip. The cabin is a few miles from Soldotna but we saw quite a few moose on the neighborhood roads to the cabin every couple days including a cow with her calf. (She was wearing an orange radio collar). The drive also takes you past the waste transfer site where you can drop off your trash/recycling. The kitchen probably isn't what a chef is looking for though there is a drip coffeemaker, Keurig, toaster, microwave, gas range and oven. The basic stuff is there (we left a pizza cutter and a sharp chef's knife) so making meals is easy. The upstairs loft area needs some blackout shades on the end window as it was sometimes difficult to sleep with the endless daylight during our trip.
This cabin's location is convenient to everything on the Kenai Peninsula. Took about 3 hours to drive to the cabin from Anchorage but from here it's about 20 minutes to the town of Soldotna (Fred Meyer grocery store, gas stations, Sportsman's Warehouse), and just a little further to the Wal-Mart in Kenai.
We made the two hour drive to Seward a few times, drove to Homer (well, Ninilchik Beach), fished the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers as well as a couple local stocked lakes. Check out Johnson Lake for some outstanding rainbow action on a rooster tail.
Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. My only 'dream' improvements would be a hot tub and a chest freezer/fish cleaning table available for guests.

Cabin in the woods
We loved the cabin. It is truly a cabin in the woods! Cute design and functional space. Surrounded by the outdoors with views of the mountains from the upstairs bedroom. Great place for our morning g coffee. Being a cabin in the woods, my only challenge was the distance from town and internet/acces to news. There are select dish channels, but none of the news channels worked.

Great Cabin
A bit remote, but we already knew that was the case, as it was described. Easily found with google maps. My family had NO complaints at all. Great kitchen, great back deck, VERY comfortable bed upstairs, with a toilet and sink upstairs. No internet....YEAH!!!
We loved it!!!

Great Cabin!
My sons, husband and I stayed at the cabin for a week in June! We loved it! We didn’t mind that it was a little remote as we fished from Seward to Homer every day. The sleeping arrangements were perfect for four people. It was clean, we had fresh towels and having a washer and dryer was very helpful. Chris had a freezer there to keep our catch! He’s a nice man, very personable. We would definitely rent this property again.!

Great Alaska Solitude
Beautiful place! A bit out there, and the directions to the property are very wrong., but it is very secluded and worth the adventure to get out there!

Very near Brown Lake almost to end of Funny River road.
Comfortable cabin, off non maintained road. Own lives up the hill. Can’t see any other houses from cabin. Nice propane stove, plenty of kitchen space. Nice balcony off kitchen wonderful view. Washer / dryer in bathroom downstairs. Shower only. Limited cleaning supplies. Nicely done decor all around. Upstairs is the bedroom and a half bathroom. It’s a bit small but nice to have. Large bed with drawer storage under. It’s very high. We bought a step stool for use To get in bed. Now why am I only giving 3 stars ? The mattress was appalling!!! We were there for 2 weeks. You do your own housekeeping. So, of course needed to wash sheets. Upon stripping the bed, I was extremely upset. The mattress had the most awful stains. We considered leaving but had already paid. So flipping the mattress was only option. It was better as apparently had never been done. There was no mattress pad. No extra sheets for that bed. If it wasn’t for the mattress issue we would stay again, but it makes one wonder how someone would ever expect people to use it.

Awesome Time!
My husband and I brought two of our adult age children along for two weeks of fishing Alaska. We were so thoroughly impressed by the comfort and pleasant, home-like feeling of the cabin. All the amenities and then some were there. Thank you, Chris, for your openness and friendly nature. We hope to visit you and your property again in the near future. Oh, and we love the dogs, too. It was a fabulous trip!! Thanks again!

What a View! Cozy Cabin tucked in the woods
After spending 13 days in Alaska staying in many places, if I could do it all over again, This cabin is where I would stay. It is a lovely little place but has whatever you need. My favorite place to drink morning coffee is on the back deck of this cabin. All the gray jays will begin to gather in the treetops hoping you have a crumb or two. If they see a cookie or a donut, they will land on the deck table and literally take your breakfast away. Hilarious fun. The manager is just up the hill so if you need him, he can be there but otherwise you may just get a visit from his Saint Bernard. Really enjoyed our stay. Not a huge place, just big enough for 4, if you have 6, it is best if 2 of those are children. It was clean, well stocked with coffee and condiments. Full size fridge, stove, oven, and dishwasher, plus washer and dryer. Close enough to the Kenai river to go fishing.

Cabin was very clean, cooking utensils very adequate & freezer available for our catch of the day. Cabin is very secluded, which we enjoyed. The owners were very helpful with any problem and helpful with information of the area. We would definitely stay there again! Thank you for providing your cabin so others can enjoy your beautiful state.

Funny River Cabin
Alicia and Chris - We really enjoyed staying at the cabin and the amenities were very nice. It was a little bit more of a drive than we expected but the area is beautiful. The dogs were very affectionate and we really liked them except that they usually live under the house and have a tendency to bark at bears or what might be perceived as bears in the middle of the night even when staying at the nearby new cabin. Otherwise, great!

Great Place to stay!!! The cabin was very well equipped with all the items needed for a home away from home. All the amenities were new and in excellent condition. The furnishings and home decor were very well thought out and added to the vacation experience. Great fishing nearby and lots of sightseeing activities! View of the snow capped mountains can be seen from the cabin and enjoyed weather permitting. I would definitely recommend this as a great place to stay to friends and family for future trips!
